pregaming hold on K's got a big game this weekend at they are 16th in the coaches poll 17th and AP pole playing at again two lane if we're gonna be pregaming if we're gonna be pregaming we gotta be is Woodford what o oh a little a little juice a little juice the T teeth and the lips got to love it gotta love it all right are we watching a game together on Saturday we should if we're not I will be devastated yeah I tried calling you the other day and he didn't reply but or call me back but that's what I was calling about oh well I must have been busy yeah it must have been all right let's get thing let's let's get rolling here initial thoughts K8 opens as around a 10 10 and a half Point favorite at two lane Saturday 11:00 am in New Orleans what's your initial thoughts here casate uh gonna win by couple scores here what do you think wow we're just diving right in I mean I mean you don't have your score prediction but like what's your initial thoughts here my initial thoughts are we're going into their home we're going to be trying to look in look at some Sweet Revenge that took place couple years ago uh when they took a win at our home court field whatever you want to call it and uh we need to pay them back I mean that's just that's just how it goes we just need to pay them back um it's a whole different kind of team though so it's not quite gonna be the Sweet Revenge like as if we were to play them the very next year um but it still is an important Road game uh they're amongst one of the better schools uh like small smaller schools um that we would play against uh they're they're good they've got a a recent history of being really good they did lose their coach um and uh we don't I don't really think that really affected uh their game I mean uh they shut out their first game when they played I don't know who they played some team with as South Southeast uh Louisiana I believe yeah they were able to take it to him I don't know how good that team is honestly but uh they were able to beat him 52 to nothing so they're a good team um but I believe that Kate is a much much better team uh and uh yeah I think we'll be ready um I think it was good that we had a game that was a little fortunate if we would have came out and just guns a blazing we probably would have overlooked this team and maybe would have thought maybe it would have been a little bit complacent like we're too good probably probably not I don't know but a win is a win and uh it's good to know that you you have some things to work on so you can like kind of dial it in uh as the season progresses there's going to be other things that that opponents are going to pick up on we're going to get into later that because you actually you're not even a coach you don't do this for a living and you picked up on some things that were kind of alarming that you were telling me that yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so so so we'll get into that but my but as far as initial thoughts go I'm confident uh going in to uh this F this road game our first road game of the season um I'm confident that uh we'll get the job done um I I'm not really necessarily worried about last week's game or last yeah last Saturday's game uh I'm I'm ready to see uh this road game I'm ready to see what we can do on on the road so absolutely absolutely so my initial thoughts are um I like K8 a little bit more than I did uh yesterday in terms of their winning probabilities in terms of actually liking casate I mean that's Nothing's Gonna Change that right like there's nothing that can change how much I like my alma modder where I got two of my degrees um but no so a few things uh yeah they did win 52 to Zer I went back and I did watch some highlights they were very balanced about 5050 run and pass in terms of two lane um they did get a turnover ran it back for six points um you know on paper that sounds like they did they killed it which they did um but the team they played uh won three games last year okay the the team Kate played is the three-time defending Conference champions um and tane does have a new head coach uh but this head coach is someone that Kate has coached against before uh Kate actually played against him John somr last year at Troy where he was the two-time defending uh conference champion in his League uh they're now in the I think it's a AAC um and it's not expected to be completely full which is a little bit of a shock there's still still some tickets left so if any casate fans want to go they can um when break down the numbers a little bit further um I actually pulled up something on uh Twitter today I'm going to put it up your on the screen uh you know a lot of casit fans uh were complaining about the offense be included and and I'll break it down a little bit more later but uh PFF Pro Football Focus uh they look at every single position and team and all that and K8 graded pretty darn High I mean that's basically in the top 10 right there uh one two three four five six seven K8 graded out to be the seventh best team in college football in terms of how they did last week uh in a 41-6 win at home so that's a pretty impressive uh number 91.2 just below will Howard's Ohio State so uh I I do I do like this matchup I do think it's gonna be good for K State to go on the road uh but like I said I like k a little bit more after breaking down film breaking down some numbers looking at things a little bit more closely K it's not going to be overlooking this team whatsoever after what happened a couple years ago um yeah man I I think it's gonna be fun it's gonna be a good game absolutely man I I agree 100% uh I think uh I it's it's very interesting I wonder where that that uh 90 I actually we know we know where that that uh score really came from it came from the defense and uh we're going to get into it though uh but yeah that that 91.2 really did come from primarily the defense and maybe a little bit of the Special Teams getting that block punt for the touchdown they probably threw a little bit of that in there but uh we'll we'll uh I just I would i' like to see this I want to keep seeing K K State grow uh up the ladder of of the ranked teams I mean currently we're sitting at 17th in the AP polling right now the coaches polling actually shows us at uh 16th um it's actually incredible that we got uh uh FSU is not even on there but rightfully so because they've lost two games now already so they're not even in the top 25 but um yeah man I'm I'm excited to get into this Steve where do you want to go first yeah let's uh let's go ahead and break down the stats here actually you know what before I do that I'm gonna go ahead and get into some some stuff on Kate so I went down I went back and I broke down the film um went back and I watched about 80% of the football game from Saturday um tell right about when the uh the backups came in and uh Kates had 10 possessions in the whole game um and six of those uh 10 possessions K State ran the ball on the first play of the drive and of those six drives Kate ended up getting points on five out of those six and the one time they didn't was the last Drive of the game of back backups in now K8 started with the ball passing four times out of those 10 and K8 did not score points on three out of those four and in fact of those three casit went three and out twice and threw an interception on the other so uh it's pretty imperative in my opinion that Kate starts out running the ball early and often with the a pair of really really good running back smash and Dash as you call them Sonic and Knuckles you break down exit 313 here in a minute but uh I I I thought it was really interesting how important it was for Kate to run the ball early in often in drives and how much that really set up success for later in the drive yeah so just to break that down for the listeners um in case you're not super intelligently inclined like Steve is basically when K State starts the drive with a run they end up scoring more often than not when they start off the drive with a pass they don't score as much if hardly at all small sample size small sample size one small sample size and it is one game and you we're just going off of this one game um we know and we've heard it a thousand times there's probably a thousand podcasts out there that are talking about oh well the offense was really vanilla or as uh Tim Fitzgerald said uh water boiled boiled chicken yeah yeah yeah I heard that I heard that what I'm like that guy comes up with the most random the analogies metaphors he come I think my brain is creative his brain is way creative more creative than mine so Props to him um but yeah I'll break down the exit 313 uh so we got DJ giddens with the 3-1 and we've got Dylan Edward with the number three that makes 313 which if if you guys are from the Manhattan area you know that if you want to take the exit on Kansas uh on I70 uh going through Kansas exit 313 is the exit indeed to get to Kan Kansas State so uh it's a really cool uh picture right there it really kind of shows the 313 that's our running backs right there and they just uh I don't know I just saw I was like 313 oh exit 313 nice because I have to take that exit all the time when I'm delivering my uh when I'm doing my job so it just it it just kind of reminded me of of that so we got we've got the 313 special in the back field uh with the onew punch um and it really just sets up K State honestly you know Jokes Aside this is probably arguably the best uh I would say the best Duo running back uh uh onew punch that we've had in a long time I'd put it third and and here's where I'd put it as as I put this away for a second I'm GNA put exit 313 third and uh here's where I'm going to put it so number with a theme of three here I see see maybe even fourth it's a very good combo um in fact you know I tweeted it out exit and I put those photos together here um and shout out to you for coming up with that and figuring that out 600 619 likes by the way on the old Twitter machine dang X so shout out to you for noticing that D I would I would only put that combination behind um Josh scobby Darren sprouls uh 2001 of course of course um I would put it behind um DJ giddens and dece vaugh Big 12 Champions you know I mean was was DJ really uh backup he was the now he well I wouldn't I'm not saying backups here I'm saying like alternating yeah an alternating deal I think decent amount of touches he really did who was who was Keith and Valentine a uh I know he he was behind um gosh what was his name NFL running back ah gosh he was also a a part of a one-w punch if I'm not mistaken in his I think junior year yeah so he was on hold on let me pull it up here and I feel so stupid for not noticing well we're never gonna get him back on the Pod Daniel Thomas he was with Daniel Thomas and Daniel Thomas ended up playing for the Miami Dolphins but yeah so that was a really good combo um 1998 was a really good combo uh and 99 as well with uh little Frank Murphy air kicks in in there as well and and David Allen the kick so this is a really good combo excited to see what they do in the future yeah um it it's already top five all time in terms of onew punch and uh we we'll see what they can do moving forward so yeah and also what what uh what's what's also been said and rightfully so and I want I want the listeners to hear this um because it's been brought up a couple times uh over the course of like a lot of the press conferences and stuff but the literally the best players on on the case State team offense and defense are all Kansas kids yeah I mean the entire backfield right and it's amazing even though like the defense you got you got uh Dez Pernell and you've got uh Toby osen saw me and Harish and K Garber and Austin Moore yeah I mean yeah there there's a ton of Daman Ela Leo I mean there's there's a ton of guys like the best performing the best performing pering Kate players are from Kansas that is so cool that that Kate's able well first of all it's cool that we that Kansas is like harvesting this amazing talent for one and two that they're actually sticking to Kansas they're like staying here and it just kind of goes to show the recruitment process that we have and I mean we we always get we always get the joke about us being a flyover state but people are going to notice us eventually they're going to realize that we got some skill here I mean we've had some uh some big names come through so I'm I'm going to pull this up really quick before we get into our breakdown yeah so in terms of the dep they be built different my boy there are 25 canons on the Kate Dept chart um as of right now 25 canons wow guess how many are on the the KU depth chart oh I would love to hear this what is it three yeah 25 to three it's three I'm not even kidding 25 to freaking three bro I knew it was a low number I yes them Kansas boys are built different both Kenny and I former uh Kansas high school football players me for Manhattan him for some little school down the road I don't know if you ever heard of it some Riley count Riley County or something yeah we just you know we just happen to produce a little guy named Jordy Nelson who went on to win a Super Bowl no big deal yeah I just happen I just happen to be in that I just happen to be in in you know this the same team with them at that time so that you know it's no big deal no big deal no big deal all right let's get into this breakdown we are 16 and a half minutes and we are just now getting in to we talked Kate to L but here are the numbers and now like I said Kate these numbers are based off of the first game only Kate played against a three-time conference Champion um while T played against a team that won three games a year ago Southeast Louisiana is who they played um so these numbers are going to reflect that but this is what we're looking at here um tane does appear to have the advantage in a lot of areas um in terms of our offense against their defense um that is not a huge shock when looking at what Kate did offensively last week it does appear Kate's got the advantage uh defensively there's a few spots where it felt like it could go either way um but they are pretty good um in the Red Zone on offense and defense and they did have uh you know that pick six last week last week and Kate had a couple turnover so that's why that's there um to me when I look at this these are all like you know relative numbers I'm looking at that sacks allowed yeah I know we already know kit gets off after the quarterback man kit allows zero they've already had two against a bad team how many are they going to have against this amazing you know defense line that was in my opinion baram the best unit for Kate last week right right I'm also looking at um I'm looking at well it's like you said the stats are a little bit skewed because of what they just played or who they played before but you know the scoring defense for two lane first it's like well I mean who did you really play I mean these guys are running I mean these guys are running wide open what um when they're on offense and then when they're on when they're on defense that I mean that team was just God a but but what but you're absolutely right but when you got to look at the sacks and the sacks allowed um K States what 18th in the country right now for four sacks I mean we we were really getting after the ball um we were showing lots of Blitz uh we we even said in our in our postgame revieww um that K State's d d lineman were they were the best part of the K State Defense on in that game I mean they were really just putting it to him getting off blocks and uh just shutting down the Run shutting down any any time that the quarterback ever like he had no time he he was just highly pressured so much and uh a lot of the sacks that that didn't have like a lot of the the times where we he didn't get a sack I mean he just ended up throwing it away or giving it away or whatever I mean he literally was spooked um to say the least I mean we they were just getting after it so uh I'm really interested to see how we continue to pressure uh going forward not just with two lane but every single team after that um because it just looks like a shining Beacon uh on our team is is the uh D lineman and then complimenting that is of course the linebackers who really just clean up uh clean up the the uh the tackles on top of that I mean we just saw Dez Pernell put on a clinic in the last game I'm sure he's gonna continue to get better as the season goes and I can't wait to see that I mean passing defense is kind of crazy that we're 12th I mean I thought we would I mean I guess it's okay but our Rush defense being ninth I can totally see that I mean we really shut down their higher rush and that's basically all they had I mean they had 38 carries for 36 yards I mean that's pretty pathetic but on their part but it's amazing on our part so so I looked I I said it wrong uh they had two sacks on defense and they they've allowed zero just like K has allowed zero right when you're looking at these uh colors there are a few that are darker than others and that just means that that is at least a 50 spot difference in terms of uh where they are ranked um the gray spots are are within one or two spots of each other so that's why they are gray but the darker ones is what you really want to look at here um so I'm still very very encouraged um by what K8 can do yeah I mean so really looking back at this uh that pass defense and when I was looking at the film um and I I even texted you about this th that team we just played had three deep balls that really concerned me and when I went back and watched uh that first one that was right in the basket VJ Payne was all over him like he was right there he may even been the reason why he didn't catch it like he probably had his hand in the basket either way it was probably going to be incomplete because VJ Payne starter even on that Big 12 championship team a couple years ago he was right there um and then on the other one that third and 19 was a broken play uh Jordan Riley got caught looking in the back field and that's why they threw it over the top of him it was just a play that happened that's gonna happen every once in a while and then that last one um where it looked like Maris seagull got beat um yes he was playing a soft man on his guy um but he was expecting more safety help and we actually had a backup in at safety Kobe mallister who actually got the touchdown earlier in the game um but had that been one of the starters I I'm not sure that that guy beats him there and Maris seagull is more of our third quarterback anyway the Nickelback he does play some safety as well but he's more that third quarterback and the guy they threw it to on that play is was their number one receiver um who was their number one receiver from a year ago so I'm not super actually worried about that as much as I was um earlier as I put down that stats breakdown we've all looked at it at that just enough so I feel a lot better after watching the film than I did watching it live um offense and defense really I I felt a lot better about where case it was at um following the rewatch and I feel like if you rewatched it I feel like you you'd see the same things as I did so yeah Steve you want to get in on some of this action here in the chat we've got a a live chat going yeah go ahead go ahead go bring him up let's I'll let you br yeah okay so we got Jor here and he says can't see two lane moving the ball well against this defense I could not agree more I watched their film their quarterback does have a very quick release they remind me of Baylor where they run a lot of shotgun and do quick releases K does pretty well against Baylor the last couple years so I I agree with that K is solid um and K's Corners specifically are very good Jacob Paris was all over the field on that rewatch he he's gonna do pretty good against their receivers even though they have a receiver from USC as their number one on this two-lane team so I I feel like they're going to move it a little bit score a little bit um more than we allowed this past week but I still feel like our defense is probably gonna win us a game right well I think he's more talking about the runners or the rush offense because their like star is like their running back like yes Mena I think is his name yeah like that that is basically their offense if if we can actually contain him I don't think we're going to shut him down but sorry if we can contain their running back I can't think of his name either but uh I think uh I think that's gonna wait maai hudes hudes right I'm pulling it up right now whenever make a team onedimensional um you're G to do pretty good M well yeah Makai Hughes like so he he is supposed to be like their Superstar and if we can actually contain him I think we'll be good I me he only had 14 carries for 59 yards against a bad team I mean at 4.2 yard average I mean we saw What DJ giddens did against a way better team and a way better defense so sure I I I feel pretty good about our defense against this team I really do yeah I uh from what they showed like I said this is our defense is is quite literally our shining beacon on this Kate team uh it's it's it's quite amazing to to witness I mean if they can be consistent in what they what they just showed us from the first game if if they're if they're gonna be inconsistent then that's G to make it really upsetting what did you say on in the last podcast man that you want to get some merch on what did you say oh yeah well I mean of course like we we we need to get the we got to get the word out there everybody who's watching um we need to get a merch team set up and we need to start making this merchandise and it's going to say in clander We Trust we need to have that posted up on shirts hash team candy candy candy man we need to we need to make in clander We Trust hats beer koozies the whole nine like we need the whole thing okay so we got uh we good the mustache stays until the cats lose Steve can you commit to sh your goe to a mustache oh I don't know about that dude no dude do if you did handlebar if you did handlebars and then you kept it until the cats lose I will keep the mustache I don't know about shaving off everything else I I really don't but shout the day ones they the day ones we're the day ones there we go this two-lane team isn't as talented as the 2022 team especially on defense I we'll have we'll have to see I mean I do agree with that but part of that is also we'll find out on Saturday for sure uh but a lot of that is because they're coaching uh left as well so yep uh love how tight coverage our uh cornerbacks play nowadays remember our Ben don't break defense attitude oh my God I hated that dude totally opposite of what we see now we have very solid defense a defensive athletes go ahead St yeah so yeah so he's he's talking about the old Bill Snider days specifically uh volume two uh where it felt like we were just playing 10 yards off every single time trying to keep everything in front of us and force him to make mistakes and kick field goals and it was absolutely maddening to watch that and now K's playing bump and run we're mixing up coverages doing Zone blitzes doing all sorts of crazy things we're bringing in other guys whenever Snyder was here he'd only play the starters like if you were a backup you did not get to play now cerman kimman they were intermixing guys to keep them fresh and getting a lot more you know Talent on that field and better athletes and more experience as well as you're bringing in more people so 100% And of course like the thing is is that I feel like some times especially in college football you'll have these like moments where like yeah you want to you want to create an environment in the practice to where it's like you know you see you want to like you can see everything you need to see to like get your starters out there but you'll never know until you get out there on the game and then sometimes you'll just have a guy who just shows up on game day let me let me just introduce you to a guy that that is famous for this and his name is Dennis Rodman he was he was unanimously or was like he's not the only one he was so known for being the guy that would just blow off practices he would go to freaking Las Vegas get drunk if you guys don't know what I'm talking about this is I know two other players that that that F that Dennis robman he played for with Michael Jackson or Michael Michael Jordan Michael Jordan sorry I was watching a video about Michael Jackson earlier uh he was playing he played with Michael Jordan in the in the uh three the last three years of on the Bulls and Dennis robman was a character and a half during that time I mean he really let loose and he was just going off doing whatever and then he'd show up in the game after after being drunk and high or whatever in Las Vegas and then he would just he would end up getting like 20 rebounds or whatever and just like popping off so you never know what's gonna I'm not saying that that's what Cas they Derrick Thomas was the same way for the Chiefs alen Iverson didn't like to practice Derrick Thomas was the worst practice player of all time but yet he showed up on game days because he's always like you're not paying me for practice you're paying me for game days right I'm not saying that I'm not don't get don't get me wrong viewers Kate fans don't get me wrong don't don't spread rumors okay I believe that the Kate players are there working hard every single day in practice what I'm saying is there's a difference between showtime and practice time and something happens when you're under the lights and and the game is is on the line and and people just it's it changes sometime people just like I don't know what it is but like there's people that can just CL they're clutch players and they just get out there and make things happen and so you never know what's gonna if that's going to be the case if you never try to throw somebody in there like that I was super shocked to see how well Joe Jackson was I mean that guy was amazing I'm sure he's gonna get a lot more touches as the year goes on but I mean are you taking out Dylan Edwards or or DJ giddens no but I love the depth as I like I like yeah I love I love the depth I mean the thing is if if they get hurt I'm like okay well at least we have a solid running back yeah behind them yeah but that yeah I agree parish and Garber were sticky Justice James was good um outside of that one rep I felt like mallister was good one guy that I don't even think I think he has one stat for the entire game last week seagull was good too was mckendry Steiger that guy was coming up making plays um they didn't credit him with a tackle even though he was in on a bunch he had that pass breakup where he really read it perfectly he was playing a guy in front of him they threw it behind him and he ran back and tipped it um he was he was playing really well K's got some nice dep for sure specifically on defense yeah absolutely next one here get along to get along uh you know I actually saw that they um not not um the Green Wave but the team we just played uh they actually did that a few times specifically on that interception that Avery threw they dropped seven they rushed three and they had one guy spying um Avery should never have thrown that ball I mean there was no spot for that ball to go whatsoever specifically on the routes that we had going but I could see them doing that but also at the same time he ran the ball three times and I don't know for me as a as a Kate person I don't know why you'd pass it that much when we already talked about how um prolific this running game is and how much it leads to points and how good leg how like how good his legs are uh so I don't know man I don't know because you still DJ and Dylan you want you want to establish the run because listen if you if you establish this run that leaves that's G to break your receivers wide open for those huge big plays and Jason's his favorite Target that's right I mean there's nothing more to say after that it's just you when when you are so dangerous with your legs there the the defense has to be forced to play that you know play against that I mean and so you just got to keep the defense Honest by uh you know throwing a lot of running at him and then that'll that'll break open those those big pass plays that we can get away with so so to answer your question probably 30% because I feel like they might only do that on third Downs or they might might just Blitz on third Downs to try to get him sacked but the problem is if you Blitz him there's a lane he's gone he is gone so we'll see I don't know man I don't know how you would if I would just I would play bump and run on the corners and I would just play seven or eight guys in a box against Kate to force him to pass but at the same time if you miss a tackle DJ or Dylan or Avery is gone so look look Steve it we also we've we've already been over this before but the the the offensive play calls were just so basic you know I want to see some I want to see some screens you know uh I want yeah yeah so the I want to see I want to see some creative stuff you know and and I believe it can it can happen it's just they didn't want to show their hand I get it it's a chess match it's you don't want to show too much to whatever you want to you know keep your card yeah they may think they know what we're GNA do but we have a new OC uh Nebraska fan here y'all looking tough this year yeah I appreciate that um I don't know now get out of here no I'm just kidding I don't neas I feel like Nebraska is gonna whoop Colorado this weekend oh oh yeah for sure Colorado I I never have bought into the hype I never bought into the hype I thought I thought this was all smoking mirrors man it said from the beginning we'll find out more later this year but I feel like Nebraska is gonna put a whooping on him um I dislike Nebraska because uh their fans were pretty rude to me when they came up here in I think it was 2010 yeah when I was a student like I got heckled by Nebraska fans in our own stadium and parking lot I did not like that I went to Nebraska cas game in Nebraska couple years before that it was not the best experience uh maybe there are some good ones maybe there are some bad ones I've only interact with the bad ones but I do feel like regardless Nebraska is gonna whoop Colorado this weekend we'll give our score predictions later in the show they barely they barely made it out of that other game against uh what was it North Dakota or whatever North Dakota State they barely made it out of that game uh and Nebraska as much as I not I don't really watch your game that I'm really not a fan of you ever since you left the Big 12 but uh I I'm I'm I'm thinking you're a better team than North Coast State so I I really hope that you guys lay it into him they have a new coach as well Matt rule used to be at Baylor so coach cayon makes superb halftime adjustments yeah I mean he didn't really have to do anything right like uh also about defense uh the other team last weekend got inside our 15 yard line twice both times came away with field goals and one of those times was obviously after that fumble on the kickoff by Jace Brown so they had a short field and claner and Company kept them out of the end zone so yeah clander at least right now really knows what he's doing um feel like it's really good the amount of people that were on a team last year that played a lot it's only going to help them this year Steve I think one of those times even uh the when it was at the when it got to the 15 yard line we even did a bunch of like tackles for loss yeah some there was some penalties in there all of that yeah it was just yeah it's good to see that and our last comment here until we get to move on to our next segment Avery running the ball is an ace up the sleeve but everybody knows we have it everyone knows we have it he emphasizes everyone so it's a wash no it's not we haven't used we've hardly use it man and I understand I was talking to a cooworker today it did feel like Kate wanted to practice passing game against a team that was pretty bad against a pass last year um and it didn't really work out and hopefully you know in a future that does um that's why it feels like they probably didn't run Avery very much I mean only ran three times only one of those was a designed play I don't believe that we actually showed the full potential of this offense we we had some very basic offensive play calls I I really believe that there is way more that we have Our Sleeve than just the little bit that we showed I mean there's going to be reverses I with the running backs that we have you better believe they've got some reverses up their sleeve are you kidding me and then I'm sure I'm sure there's going to be some some uh some QB options like triple options we didn't we didn't see any of that so it's look I I understand that the frustration is like oh man all we got is like Avery just kind of run like doing a little Michael Vic impression but I he's more like Lamar Jackson Than People him credit for yeah but honestly I I want to give some hope to the Kate fans that there is a lot more to this Kate offense than what we saw last Saturday you just got to believe you know that this it's like it's a mind game you know it's a mind game like two Lane's gonna look at the at the film and all they're going to see is the basic plays that we gave them yeah it they're not going to it they know that Avery's talented they know that they they can't believe that that's all we have so but but the thing is we kept our cards so close they don't know what to really prepare for so we'll go ahead and just leave it there we have so many comments coming up we'll try to get to all of them really quick because we gota we do have to move on yeah he is so fast that it can be dangerous when other teams know he's a threat to run yeah I mean it's just like you you're lining up against Derek Henry on Third and one you know what's coming right like doesn't mean you can stop it no Zone read Saturday otherwise the score would have been 63 to6 yeah absolutely and um there are so many variations and options off of that zone read that people don't even realize that you can do and Avery's legs are another like gear like he's insanely fast keeping it till we need it I agree I agree exactly exactly made some mistakes one an interception some of that is his to correct but the offensive play Colin should be adjusted as well accordance to his skill SK to keep him to help him out yeah agree yeah I don't think yeah of course the play calling didn't really do him any favors but again like I said I I want to leave a lot of room for some Grace on on the uh on the uh offensive play calling uh I definitely believe that there's way more in the tank and up the sleeve for K State I don't think they just came out and showed everything that they do I I don't think it's close agree I think we just gave them the The Bare Bones of our offense like okay here's the standard plays that we that we run you know every single year I mean just I mean all you got to do is just do some Zone reads get some rpos going some screens get Dylan Edwards on the edge and then you know play action here it every model um there's another one I looked at today that was retweeted by KSU forfan uh that has um Kate winning um covering a spread every single time it's not letting me share it for some reason let's try again um here's a good question Steve for you here it is on a scale from demo to Klein how creative is the play calling gonna be this season uh I hope it's more close I hope it's closer to Klein than H but you know what I mean if if demel's the kind of play calling we're going for DJ giddens is gonna get the ball a lot so yeah yeah exactly all right so here here we go so they basically that's too much have case hit winning 90% of the time um minus 869 that is an insane uh projection there in terms of basically you'd have to bet $869 according their to their projection to win $100 uh projected score basically if you round it up 34 if you round it up to 17 um a lot of green here for Kade in terms of efficiency running the ball offense defense everything I'm not seen any of I'm not seeing any green there but maybe it's just it's there it's it's not the same as it was last year in terms of how easy it was to read but basically you can see that kad's I mean projected to win 90% of the time so right right right and I don't know about covering and we'll talk about that in our score prediction next um but I don't see any way Kate loses this game I mean I I just don't they don't have the athletes we have specifically on defense um I like Kate a lot Kenny what's your score prediction here yeah I'm gonna I'm going to stick with the ride I always uh I always like K State um I always like K State going over 40 especially uh non-con games um that are like you know not like SEC like top 10 teams uh but if if it's a non-con game against a you know a division two school or a lower school or whatever I I'm going to go ahead and say 40 I'll say 45 to I'm gonna dude I'm gonna say 45 to uh three I am not as confident as you that that's an insane score um you know if you ask me after seeing after seeing that defense how can you not be yeah but the offense I mean it wasn't as good but we haven't seen everything yet I'm I don't see it being like that I see mean that's a six touchdown win that's insane uh I'm going to say Kate wns yesterday I said Kate wins by three 272 24 but we're really breaking down the numbers and the film more I got Kate winning 28 to 17 covering a spread by 11 defense is going to give up some points because they do have some they do have some studs um at least outside they are going to test us deep uh but K it's too good they are too good The Kinks are going to get worked out on offense but they still they have a whole another level they're going to go to against Arizona so I still have K8 winning and covering the spread 28 to 17 is my score what is your uh hot takes I okay I'll adjust my score I'll adjust my score that that's a little bit too high hope I mean that's a six touchdown win on the road I'm gonna go I'll say this I'll yeah yeah I could I mean I don't see our defense giving up 20 I I mean I just don't no I want I want I want our defense to to stick around the the ballpark of single digit scoring yeah as for as long as I can I'm giving them 12 I that's way too I think that's way too generous for me I could see I could see in the 30s for Kate um I mean they they scor 28 against uh pretty good defense at NC State last year in a bowl game and I mean we have a whole another level that this team can go to and I know this uh this team isn't as good as them obviously K's offense is still a work in progress uh Damon nles says 45-5 uh one more thing I fully expect for at least hope that Dylan puts up some more impressive stats this game should definitely be involved more uh touch pass jet sweeps screens yeah so here's what I'm going to say all these numbers um are going to be a lot higher because I do expect kfe to play the whole game because they're gonna want to be in shape for a whole game before they go into Arizona the following week on a Friday night and it's gonna be really hot game so maybe there's gonna be some more backups early but I do expect Kate to play the whole game so Dylan's definitely G to get more than what seven touches I expect 10 to 12 and I expect around 20 for DJ gons so uh 3517 get get along to get along a lot of muscle c yeah so so my my hot take my hot take is going to be um I GNA say that DJ giddens uh gets over 200 yards rushing this game oh I love it that's my hot take and and I'm gonna say uh we get an interception uh by my boy Parish dude okay so you're calling it like directly like you are putting it out there to 200 yards rushing for DJ interception specifically for Jacob Parish that that that's dude this is literally what hot takes are supposed to be they're absolutely this be hot hot here's what I'm gonna say um I think Avery Johnson's gonna score three touchdowns in this game have 20 250 uh allpurpose yards passing and rushing in this game um I think he's really gonna they're going to let him loose let him get going um DJ giddens I mean he's still going to have a great game uh you already said something about him so I'm going to I'm going to not say as much but I I think Avery Johnson's Gonna Get Right This is a Get Right game for him defensively I mean the other team's gonna be trying to come back so they're gonna be passing the ball a lot what does that lead to sacks and usually what happens in a sack is what a fumble right so I think Cas I thought you were about to say sack celebrations Yeah well yeah we're definitely going some sack celebrations shout out to Toby as well I mean he may even see that guy in New Orleans again dude because it's going to be in New Orleans he might say Hey you know watch watch me on TV tomorrow uh but no there's going to be at least f one fumble recovery on a sack um and then there's G to be at least one interception as Kate moves from negative one to plus one in the whole uh turnover margin so I for two lane I love it my God that is I love the score you see I like that score I I'm going to adjust my score one more time because I really don't want to give two lane double digits I just want to give him nine I'll go all the way up to nine and I'll stay at 41 for K State so that is my fi I know I've changed it twice already but that is my final answer if I'm gonna put money on it 41 to n that's the C that's the cas score prediction right there K State score predition hot take DJ gens at least 200 rushing yards if he does more I'll take it I'll take all the ones I all the yards after be a game where Avery's gonna throw for 300 400 yards and both of those guys are gonna go off I don't think it's gonna be this weekend I think K's Really Gonna Run game do you think think do you think uh Avery is gonna we we we saw the disappointing uh qbr for Avery and obviously we saw the amount of yards he had passing yards it was it was under 200 and you see all these other quarterbacks are hitting 300 400 I think he cares we even saw 500 uh I don't think he cares either um because he's he's really a dynamic player and so he doesn't really care too much about the arm but do you think he'll hit at least over 200 passing yards this game 190 190 wow okay 65 rushing I said over 250 so he's gonna have 255 total yards okay that's fair should be extra fired up for this game for obvious reason so it might be a blowout could be could be I mean they have multiple reasons to be fired up for this game yeah but also two Lane's gonna be fired up for this game I mean how many times are we gonna have a big Austin Moore was there right Austin Moore was there uh there's a lot Brendan M was there Bron M that's right poder Panzer DJ giddens was on the team was he he must have been a fresh he was a freshman behind du Von uh there was there was a lot of guys that are still on the team um Keenan Garber was on the team so yeah one of the targets was it was it was and I I do agree Dante will be fine um yeah okay let's see here I have a feeling seeus might have some breakout games as defenses key on his other teammates no for sure that's what I was saying earlier I said when when I don't know why we would the fact that everybody knows the threat that Avery Johnson has on his legs that just makes it even better for us I mean it's the more threats you have the better and especially when you have threats because it's not like Avery can't throw we know he can throw um it's just just you know he he had a couple that got away from him but we see the the the potential though I mean we know it's there so I'm gonna call it right now this is Tuesday September 3D episode number four Dante sephus is gonna catch a touchdown in the Big 12 championship game and it's gonna matter quite a bit that's my that's my dude that is your Babe Ruth that is your Babe Ruth pointing to the Outfield absolutely right before you swing by way yes that's exactly right by the way we didn't talk about the Special Teams it's going to play a factor in this game quate may get some really good field position maybe maybe even return one block a punt I don't know the Special Teams is gonna play a factor I'm actually excited to see Parish uh more I I think I like him uh I I kind of agree with uh with Tim Fitz a lot I he was mentioning that he really likes it when you have def defensive players uh like being a part of the return team because when they when they get the ball and they they get off the field you know it's it's like they get that break or whatever and so with whereas vice versa if you had like a Dylan Edwards he would have to stay on the field or get off and go back it'd be just yeah kind of strange but with that being said Steve with the last seven is hitting the under um they must know what they're doing here because that that that total over under is pretty low we both have K8 covering what was your score again 41 to nine okay so you have K8 both of us having K8 covering you have K8 hitting the over and I have them hitting the under sorry both teams hitting the under so also on Saturday pretty big game SEC big 12 this is a huge game this is a huge game Oklahoma what do you got I like I like Oklahoma State um I'm gonna go with I gotta go with my gut and go with Gundy here uh I've always been a fan of his so um I'll say I'll say 30 I'll say 36 to uh it'll be a close game I'll say 3635 you know that is right around where I was going to say uh I do think this is going to be a high-scoring game I'm going to priz as right you um I got oakl State winning 38 to 35 both of us have have them hitting the over as well but both of us have Oklahoma State winning but not covering right on uh ah no one cares about this game um no OSU wins yep absolutely arkansan new QB impressed me last weekend yeah I mean I mean they're SEC they they got some studs but yeah yeah I I I I think that uh OSU is gonna be up for the challenge pit at Cincy I don't care uh I want to pick pit in the upset here yeah I I don't 34 31 covering the over under I'll just agree to save time okay pretty big game here Baylor at Utah that was a pretty close game last year I believe this is a non Big 12 game just like case Arizona is the following week Utah favored by 14 over under 54 a half um I don't know what to think man I don't know what to think about Baylor Utah's pretty good 14 seems about right um I'm gonna have I just I just don't think Baylor's back yet no I don't either I'm going to have Utah winning there's no way there's no way they've bounced back from that horrible season there 38 3824 uh there is neither team is winning that spread um but there is the over hitting dude I've got I've got Utah with 40 points I've got Baylor with like 18 so Utah covering and heading over as well love it yeah interesting this game is on CBS and Paramount plus big game Iowa State at Iowa this a cool game game I like this game I got Iowa winning this game I feel like they found something offensively last week and we know their defense is good uh that over under is only 35 and a half that is crazy low well I think it's because they think like Iowa state is really good at containing teams I don't know why and then but at the other end they're also not good at at scoring high either they've always got low-scoring games for some reason Iowa five I assu they're gonna they're going to want it too it's at their it's at their home uh yeah they're they're gonna want this big same for same for UCF I like them big uh if I had to pick pick a score let's say 4914 covering a spread and the over under uh uh yeah I'll say I'll say 45 uh I'll say 45 to nine love it this is an interesting game KU Illinois KU favored by five over under 55 and a half I'm going think the I think Nebraska fans are going to show out you know I think they're really gonna show out here so uh yeah I've got them winning as well I think they're going to hit 40 and Colorado is going to maybe get like 21 I'll say 2141 2141 okay so both of us have Nebraska covering you have them hitting over me the under yeah on Oklahoma's just gonna absolutely embarrass Houston I mean it's gonna be yeah it's gonna be a 50 something to 63 to zero dude yeah it's going to be 50 or 60 to this is where Oklahoma just needs to play like all their yeah all their next you know next in line absolutely that Arizona doesn't have a defense uh I got Arizona winning 4945 wow that's crazy dude that's a close score really high over under I'll say I'll just I'm not believing in Arizona at least in defense right now I'll keep the same like I'll keep the score like close like that but it'll be like in the 30s like 36 33 you got some odd scores today I love it uh Texas Tech traveling to Washington State I do think Washington state is going to win and cover it is going to be high scoring I'm going to say should have last week 55 to 45 yeah heading Texas Tech no Washington state with a dub okay I was I was wondering I was like uh not after what I saw yeah Washington say I think they're going to wipe they only have winning by two that's it's interesting I I think uh does not have a defense and them and Arizona should form a new defense yeah actually it would just be bad it would just be the same thing terrible uh yeah I got Washington State winning I think they're going to win by way more um I just feel like there may be more of a disciplined team than Texas Tech I think Texas Tech might get 20 points but Washington state is going to come out with like 40 I think 40 to 20 yeah okay last game interesting game here um I'm not a Believer yet in Arizona State um though they did look really good last week I think Mississippi state's going to win something like 27 to 21 dude I want I want to I want to have faith in Arizona State I want to put some faith in them it's at Arizona State too so um another late game so uh I'm gonna put in Arizona state if you please just just don't choke
