don't want to see somebody like that this new on NFL live uh this is interesting from Ravens reporter Jameson hinley tight end Mark Andrews back on the practice field today for the first time since being involved in a car accident on August 14th great to see him back and glad he's okay Andrews and the Ravens start the seasons in six days it's only six days away against the Chiefs Ravens GM Eric dasta was asked if his other tight end Isaiah likele is poised for a breakout season I've seen an urgency this year with him his leadership interaction with other players you know he's he's kind of changed from being a rookie to being a vet and uh I just feel like he and Mark Andrews will be the best tandem at their position in the league and really create a lot of problems for opposing defensive coordinators yeah uh seems like it what do you think Mina I I'd love to hear that and I completely agree I I think this Ravens uh 12 Personnel grouping with those two tight ends Patrick card's kind of a deao tight end as well is going to be absolutely filthy this year and part because they were filthy last year albeit with the smaller sample size because of the injuries but when they had those or two tight ends on the field pardon me they were the most efficient grouping that the Ravens had they were the most efficient uh 12 personel grouping in the NFL with .57 EPA per play and what I loved about that grouping in particular 50/50 run pass split when the Ravens had uh three wide receivers on the field they almost entirely passed the ball when they went heavier they ran the ball but when they W in 12 defenses had no tells as to whether or not they were throwing or running the ball and that is where these Baltimore Ravens want to live with defense defenses in a constant state of uncertainty you know Mina while you were praising the Ravens and their potential and I was buying in you might have seen the skepticism on Bill's face he's not feeling the same way about the ravens as he talk about the Cardinals baltim I know come on Bill uh Baltimore is on his list of teams most likely to decline this season even though they finished last season with a 13-4 record the other teams on Bill's list you see them there include the Steelers Giants Eagles and Browns Bill explain yourself the Ravens are still going to be good I just think they're not going to win 13 games that's really hard to do in the National Football League and it's hard to do when you had the off seon the Ravens had they lost three starters along their offensive line on defense javian Clowny Patrick Queen and Mike McDonald of course their excellent defensive coordinator who's now the head coach in Seattle all left this is a team that was so efficient when it came to the Red Zone last year which is tough to keep up year after year on offense and defense and they had the best turnover margin of any team in football Lamar Jackson threw interceptions on about 1.5% of his passes that's way less than his career rate typically you expect him to be right more in the 2 and a half% range which is about five or six more interceptions per season this still going to be a good team but the AFC North is tough this is the toughest division in football I just think the Ravens might be more of a 10 or 11 win team that doesn't seem like it's the worst thing in the world tiny decline Bill stop making so much sense we were trying to call you a hater all right when we return we got what fuels me I would like to be the best ever played the [Music] game Jes the defender and score say you back tropies but I get we're back on NFL live the Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has heard the negative comments said about him over the past two seasons he had this to say about people sleeping on his team quote let them sleep our job is to wake them up and allow them to realize what's going on out here I don't even feel like I've scratched the surface of what I'm able to do in this league kind of being hurt the last season and a half it is what it is in this world it's kind of what have you done for me lately we haven't won so I understand but I'm primed and ready to prove what I'm capable of what this team's capable of don't sleep on Kyler Bill Barnwell is not one of those sleeping on the Cardinals he has Arizona as one of his top five teams most likely to improve this season along with the Chargers Patriots commanders and the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs I like that you threw the Chiefs in there bill but let's go back to the Cardinals what do you like about them going into this season you got to you got to put the defending two times champ in there if you can Laura the Cardinals on the other side of the spectrum a team that I feel like while we are sleeping on a little bit I think Kyler is correct here the offense improved dramatically after he returned from his Toren ACL last year they were 28th in EPA per play before he came back 10th in the NFL after he returned and by the way that was without a really impactful wide receiver they're adding this year in Marvin Harrison junor and then you flip it to the defensive side of the ball and I went deep into my my nerd Cavern for this I guess when it came to stats on the defense and last year of course so many teams were dealing with injuries a quarterback the average team faced about 73% of snaps from the opposing team's top quarterback so their primary guy you're Aaron Rogers and the Jets for example the Cardinals last year were at 93% that was the heaviest and most difficult schedule opposing quarterbacks any team faced at all last year really was only a half game of like uh Taylor hinek in Atlanta a half game of Mitchell shabisky with the Steelers otherwise they were playing the number one every sing week so the Cardinal should face a a wor backups this year I think and that will really help the defense take a step forward uh I like this pick a lot I will say I am skeptical about this defense but the offense on the other hand I think could certainly lift them to more wins in part because of what Bill said the second half the season after Kyler returned they were actually quite efficient and particularly efficient running the football in fact by some metrics they were the best rushing team in the NFL in the second half of last season I feel like under their new offensive coordinator Duke ping they really found an identity on the ground this was a team that loved putting multiple tight ends on the field pulling their offensive lineman and just bulldozing defenses now if you can build any sort of consistent passing attack off of that and that should be a lot easier with Marvin Harrison Jr in the mix and Kyler actually coming off of a healthy offseason well I mean going from Top 10 in EPA per play to anything better than that you're talking about one of the best offenses in the NFL even just when we show the highlights there of Kyler it's just worth a reminder of how Dynamic he can be he can be a cheat code when it comes to being great offensively defensive college football is back and I am on a college campus right now SEC nation is coming your way tomorrow from Florida and uh and Miami matching up in Gainesville and I want to give a big shout out to Phil Murphy because he saved the day here doing the a block of our show stepping in seamlessly doing a wonderful job while I was sprinting across the campus here in Gainesville because we had weather at our normal set and had to get indoors so thanks to Phil and thanks to all of you just absolute professionals let's carry on let's get back to the show okay and everything to do with college football officially underway field Yates put out his list of the top prospects for the 2025 draft class two of his top 10 got their season underway last night Colorado shadur Sanders and Travis Hunter ranked seventh and Ninth respectively on the list they helped lead the Buffs to a 31-26 win over North Dakota State first of all there ain't no 50-50 ball with Travis the ball's up close it's his ball sh out of the shotgun he's got Charlie to his right long throw grab Travis Hunter circles around down the sideline there he goes the most dynamic player in college football third down shadur throws this one right side comeback leaping grab in zone touchdown touchdown Colorado who is that M Travis Hunter I just had a lot of confidence in myself I told my coach third down give me the ball we going win this game we going to get up out of here and I did what I had to do catch the ball get TouchDown and let's go they're a lot of fun to watch Amina what did you take away from Travis Hunter's three touchdown performance last night I mean he's as versatile as you Laura doing NFL in college in the same day the way he plays both sides of the ball at such a high level I'm watching him thinking all right Mina should he be a wide receiver or should he be a cornerback and both like I I I truly do not have an answer to this question at this point because I mean you saw it there in the highlights his skill as the receiver with the ball in his hands his understanding of space leverage the body control on that boners touchdown catch but then you see those same qualities when he plays DB and he's so athletic I mean I don't think people understand the level of difficulty required to play as much football as he does and continue to do so at a high level over the course of the game speaks to not only his uh physical fitness but also his mental acuity I just think this guy's a limit for this young man so this was like a basically an NFL game yesterday because there was no actual professional football everybody in the NFL was watching this Colorado game and watching those two players and a lot of the group chats around the NFL at least the ones that I'm invited to were talking about Hunter as a wide receiver number one of course it's the money right I mean the top of the wide receiver Market is $35 million a year the cornerback right now that's $21 million a year so a dramatic difference to play wide receiver but that catch in the end zone his hands on that catch it's like a shame to waste that on a cornerback you don't have that's so rare to see a wide receiver make a play like that in such a tight space I can't wait to continue to watch them throughout this season they're always electric but Travis Hunter we're going to keep debating it and that'll be a fun draft debate too time now to read and react you guys let's go to a little birthday boy action with Drake May turned 22 today he's only 22 one day after learning that he did not win the starting job in New England here's more I wouldn't think disappointed I wouldn't say disappointed obviously you know there's two ways to look at you know I want to play you know Competitive Edge and me um at the same time under 10 situation um you know kind of was coming in here and um Jacob's you know been the offense and you got you know the Reps um you know the ones all Camp so can't really say I'm disappointed but uh at the same time want to be playing do everything I can to uh prove I'm you know can can be the starter and um know like I had a good camp um throwing it well um play well throughout the preseason so other than that just uh keep my head down and keep working Bill what did you make a New England's decision to me it's not about Drake May's play because he outplayed toobe veret in the preseason I think it's about keeping him healthy and not putting him behind a very inexperienced and frankly still working progress offensive line they really struggle with penalties against Washington um cha cor for one of their veterans wiped away a 48 yard play with an illegal formation penalty their starters at left tackle and left guard are injured Cole strange their former first round pick on the pup list to be in the year they have to get the line right before they can get May right behind them at quarterback of course he handled it so well let's go to another rookie quarterback and Jaden Daniels who did win the starting job in Washington but he does not want to be looked at as the team's savior cuz at the end of the day you know it's a it takes a team to to help people out um you know can't go out there and you know think on the Savior uh you know everything um you know when the plays are out there to be made make the plays but you know you know got to get the 10 other guys um in the whole organization U moving forward in One Direction mea how can Daniels and this Commander's offense reach their full potential this season yeah he Jaden makes a great point it's not all about him it's about his teammates it's also about their offensive coordinator Cliff Kingsbury and that's what I'm interested in seeing this year not just how he deploys Jaden as a passer and he is a terrific pocket passer but how much he uses him on designed run runs you see the impact already that his legs have on defenses it clarifies coverages it makes things easier in the Run game however does have a slim build you don't want to expose him to too many hits so I think for Cliff very important task is finding that right balance let's say in the NFC East Dak Prescott playing on the final year of his contract had this to say when asked if he needs a deal to get done before the season uh I don't need a no no would you like it done before this uh I think it says a lot if it is or if it isn't um but however doesn't doesn't really matter to me to be honest with you what does it say if it isn't just how people feel I don't know how do you how how do you feel you're right about that you open that door yeah honey how do you feel about Jerry said the negotiation isn't about your Merit as the Cowboys quarterback but more about their cap situation what do you take from that when he says you know it's not really about what you're doing yeah I understand that that's the business and the nature of this this game that we play um uh yeah I mean I stopped honestly listening to things that he says to the media a long time ago so um doesn't really hold weight with me I mean Jeremy smiling through it but where do things stand with Dak and the Cowboys yeah Laura that is a smile of a man who has considerable leverage and is happy with his life right now but here where is where things stand at the moment I'm told that both sides have been talking every few days that's been the strategy for both the Cowboys and Dak Prescott no major progress right now no new offers but at both sides have told me we've got a week and so they're not resigned to the Fate that Dak Prescott is just going to go into the year without a contract they are going to try but at least people with the Cowboys do acknowledge why it's hard to do a deal because Prescott is not afraid of free agency he's sort of welcomes it in a way because of that considerable leverage that he does have so the Cowboys are going to try but they know it's going to be tough for that reason hello [Music] for foree fore spe [Music] [Music] fore Z for [Music] hello hello [Music] hello for foreign spee spee spe h
