Intro [Music] hi fans of high quality entertainment today I'm going to talk about one of the greatest Canadian rock bands of all time the Guess Who who aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet but that's for another video Guess Who Lawsuit this one is about the original Guess Who The Guess Who getting sued Randy Bachmann and Burton Cummings file 20 million lawsuit on joke band they've taken mine in ry's history the history of The Guess Who and stolen it to Market their cheap ticket sales in their fake Bowl you know what shows Cummings says and there's Randy Bachman and burden Cummings The Guess Who without either Randy Bachman and burden Cummings Say It Ain't So a group comprised of bass player Jim kale and drummer Gary Peterson along with 20 something HED hands has been playing small venues across the US Under The Guess Who Banner now as reported by Rolling Stone magazine Bachman and cummings are suing their old bandmates Bachman and cummings filed the lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles deeming the group little more than a cover band and alleging they are misleading fans so their basist Jim kale snared the trademark to The Guess Who in 1986 the band broke up in 1975 after coming together in Winnipeg in 1962 the band has sold more records Than the Beatles In 1970 the band sold more records Than the Beatles with hits like American Woman these eyes and laughing and then it just goes on of course uh Jim kale is no longer in the band due to health reasons and Gary Peterson the drummer he doesn't even always uh he's been recording with this version of The Guess Who and uh but I don't think he's been playing all of the live shows because of his age and his health and I did just wanted to say that I follow I have been following burden Cummings on his official Facebook page for many years there was even a time when he did a local concert and at that time you could message him and I was just you know saying what a great concert it was and he took the time to write me back a short message and that just impressed me and I love his Facebook page because he posts he's a lover of music just like all of us or most of us and as you can see he he's even posted about one of my all-time favorite band Sparks and uh so I just wanted to give a little uh shout out to his Facebook page if you love music and movies he's into he he just posts very interesting things and comic books which I'm not as interested in but these are posts from the past where he was posting about Sparks and that really uh kind of surprised me in a good way so thank thank you Burton and you never know I'm gonna like uh hasht gonna tag burden comings on uh Instagram and Facebook and it would be great to have him on my channel to talk about whatever he wants to talk about including this lawsuit if he's able to so yeah he did some writeups on Sparks but anyway and he's of course been in the Ringo Star Allstar band in the past so has Randy Bachman at another Bachman Cummings time there they are together yeah and uh even recently uh Randy Bachman and burden Cummings have you know played live of course they can't go under the Guess Who name Bachman Cummings and so he posted this on his Facebook and Instagram which I also follow him on anyone recognized these guys at the meet and greet on October 29th 2023 from the original recordings of The Guess Who not one of them was in the studio during the recordings of the hit songs and were probably still in diapers when all of the guests who hit songs were climbing up the charts here they are accepting acols for the band's Legacy and as the lead singer and songwriter co-writer of the hits I can say I don't know any of them not one of them could tell you the story behind any of the songs songs often written about personal experiences songs written with Randy Bachman and Kurt winter and Dom bill or alone just hired musicians trying to build their own legacy off the back of hit songs created by other people and like I said I would love to have burden on my YouTube channel that I've had for almost 18 years and you know talk about music too it doesn't have to be all about this lawsuit but we know who the real guess who is so yeah and there was a video for this fans line up to meet I'm sorry fans line up to meet the Guess [Laughter] Who that just makes me laugh as you can tell uh you know and then they they've got the T-shirt with the Guess Who and the the maple leaf I don't even think any of these guys are can are Canadian and this was also posted on Burton's page The Guess Who posing with fans for their October 29th Evansville Indiana show no original members not even the uh drummer Gary The Guess Who Peterson there the real guess who yeah and this is their latest album I don't even I don't want to promote it and I guess it's like a Prague Rock El I don't remember the Guess Who being proc and I'm not taking anything away from these people I'm sure they have talent but they are not the Guess Who there's the real guess who yeah my favorite albums by the way are well all them really but so long bantine and rocken would be my favorites and share the land an American woman yeah this is their previous album The Guess Who the future is what it used to be so I apologize in case burden is watching this video he might want to skip ahead of bit but this is the guest who uh recent footage of them and let me know what you think of the The Guess [Music] Who [Music] well that blows and here they are doing American [Applause] woman I can't hear you you can't hear I like that he says I can't hear it's because nobody's ah they're not the Guess Who I can't hear you how about this and and you'll notice like I said Gary Peterson the only true original member he's not on the drums there it's someone [Music] [Applause] [Music] else [Music] The Guess Who think no you're [Applause] not there's the real guess who again oh Lord yeah so you know just it's just sad like they're just a halfway decent cover band if that after listening to that uh just it's just sad and I hope I hope Randy Bachman and burden Cummings when their case I would love your thoughts about all this yeah they're uh they're on I was going I should have grabbed the picture but they're on Spotify and elsewhere you know all the streaming services and at the top I think I posted about this before I did a video a few months ago about it actually in other bands and the the band's picture on Spotify is this band there's no sign of bur comings and it's just wrong so uh yeah go get them Burton go get them Randy thank
