after a Colorado game last year where were are you guys defensively thinking about your mindset as you face that uh honestly I feel like we've grown significantly so uh honestly have a strong mindset about everything and your thoughts coordinator uh you know at first it was at first you know we had to adapt to him but it's pretty good so far like he's been uh straightforward with us uh constructive criticism uh so it's been pretty great what's mean be a 10K uh honestly it's it's more than a it's more than a little for me because of the fact that my peers felt like I was uh fit for this position so I wear with pride honestly you seen on fil uh you know they're big team they gonna fight till the last minute so uh you know we got to be on the same thing with them keep our energy up uh not too many fans but they they always have that draw so we have to do the same was listed as a starter what did he kind of show you during uh since like during Camp even last year he'll get in he was going he was coming in making like five or six tackles like off dump so being able to have him side of me he's been turning up honestly guys coaching to get that bad taste out of your mouth def how ready you guys uh we've been ready honestly uh since since the last game from last year so uh we just ready to show our talent off show our uh like prosecution everything that we've done like our work how much confidence do you think the group is playing with right now uh very high confidence honestly there's a great wide receiving cour it's not just just Al but they have tiger BM a couple other guys out there you guys had some injuries in the secondary how do you plan to kind of attack the talent that Stanford has and how confident AR you that you can slow down the pass uh you know everything come with comes with it of course because of football but uh we feel pretty confident in however we come at them to be honest with you how have you seen on the other side of the ball Josh bro since the end of last year uh he went from a little pup to being a vet real quick and it's been great having him because he's he's grown into a great leader he's grown into like a great uh man outside of football so just having him is a is a blessing but how much has it helped you guys with the new pressure that coach aalos is sending uh to get to the quarterback how much does that help you guys in the secondary uh it's only allow us to grow you know so we're able to like you know lock Mana for I ain't G to say not too long but but it's pretty good not been there for long and sending that pressure everybody get to him like real quick all done we go two more questions for bud bud your journey I mean you you kind of bured onto the scene in 22 have made some electric plays you know the defense struggled a season ago what have you done this offseason in preparing to have the type of season that can b e into the NFL draft professional career conversation uh honestly it's all work uh all work and being able at the lore allows me to do so your early in first stand yeah I think they're going to be good um obviously um you know they the record wasn't great last year but um you know neither was ours and I think they're going to come back uh fiery I think they have some talented guys and obviously good scheme so we're excited about the challenge we know it's going to be a tough game and we're looking forward to a battle and a competition so we're excited about it where do you feel like you've grown the most since last year I think just overall uh just feel more comfortable and mat sure and just the offense and uh just the operation everything you know you don't really think about you know huddling and you know tell saying to play in the Huddle and all these things to come with playing quarterback so I think just overall just more comtable in the offense and just the entire operation you know at quarterback talk about how college football might be changing 14 possessions in the opener with Georgia Tech and FSU how do you balance wanting to play as fast as Kendall BRS wants to play with also wanting to be able to manage the game and and not move ahead of what the offense is capable of doing right I think it's it's definitely a challenge and uh I think we're a Tempo offense right and so we do well when we're going fast and we're kind of getting a roll but also there's times where you go out of bounds and you need to huddle and uh utilize the new uh Mike Rule and all that to hide formations and just kind of change the pace so I think coach brow does a good job of changing the pace and keeping the defense on their toes and I think we'll continue to utilize those uh traits in our offense Josh what have you seen out of Bobby APR yeah I mean it's similar to some of the Wisconsin stuff from back in the day and um he's they do a good job they mix it up uh they try to make it tough the quarterback to recognize what they're do doing and uh they play multitud coverages and uh they do a good job up front you know being disciplined in their gaps and and in the Run game so uh their backers are good players and uh they have some DBS they're really talented as well so uh I've been impressed with them on film and uh it's going to be a good challenge like I said and we're excited about that challenge made a stand yeah he does he's uh obviously on tape he flashes and makes plays and um so that's a guy that they have that's going to uh be a good player for them this year and we're excited like I said about that match up there's not a whole lot to say about that but uh we're we're excited to play somebody else one of the challenges that the offense faced last year was redone efficiency how have you guys work to improve on that this yeah I think just being able to run the ball well anytime you can run the ball in the red zone it makes things a lot easier and so our offensive line is doing so much better than they we have in the past and they're they're really good up front right now and so I think running the ball in the red zone is going to help us and then being able to uh throw the ball off of that and then just allow those two things to kind of work with each other is going to help our efficiency in the red zone so um we won't have to uh necessarily do things out of the ordinary to score points and so uh just running our offense when we get down there and executing our plays we do every single day is going to help us be more efficient down there by the end zone something said there's there's an eagerness or you said s time to finally get on the field and really turn the pce from there you get that simil yeah it feels like the last two weeks have been the longest two weeks of my life since we in Fall camp and uh I think we're just itching to go play somebody and I know I am I know that's how our team feels um we have a really competitive team and uh I mean for the last since we played U it's all we've been thinking about is playing Stanford so uh we're excited and I I feel that same eagerness on our team and I think uh everybody's just really excited to play and to play someone else um and we're just excited to kind of test test our test our skills and test oursel you know we know what we can do you know on the practice field and in Fall camp but until you go play somebody else you know you don't really know and so um we're we're excited about testing that we we know what we can do but just proving it to everybody else Sun spoke about you recognizing you try to make plays a juice work squeeze on certain play throws how do you go about that especially your first game out here so ready to go I just run the offense like don't overthink it um do what I do play my game and then uh just run the offense and make it easier for Coach BRS to call plays you know when it's first and 10 and the shots not there check it down and second and five you know it's easy to call plays in second and five second 10 makes it tougher so I think just running the offense coach uh the way coach br designs the offenses to help us be successful and so just running the offense the way it's supposed to be run and uh if I do that we're going to be just fine and uh just get the ball of The Playmakers and uh we'll be just we'll be just fine so just make the plays that I normally make and obviously you know don't be timid just rip it when I see it and then uh check it down when needed Josh you work with Trey Sanders every day what was your first impressions of him and what do you think he me this the last few years yeah Trey's been through a lot you know he's obviously uh went to Alabama before and um you know struggle with some injuries in the past um so I think just watching him work and the way he shows up every day and just his commitment to our program and commitment to being a champion and uh it's just it's special to watch and I surely appreciate him and all the work that he does for our team and he's kind of an older guy in the running back room and he kind of has that experience to kind of uh let the younger guys lean on him and ask him questions and so uh he does a great job and he definitely plays a really big role on our team and uh we're glad to have him and I appreciate him how yeah he's physical you know he he's a bigger guy you know probably 61 I don't know what he weighs 210 and uh he he'll run through your face and uh he's good in pass protection and uh he's just a tough guy just he's a tough Runner he's hard to get on the ground and um just a special player and uh excited about watching him think about this receiver room how much confidence do they give you when you go back talking about being the game manager you see it and just yeah I mean I have so much confidence on our receivers right now and just the way they're playing um you know I kind of touched on this earlier but saon is practicing on a different level I've never seen so uh when you see guys practice like that just gives you confidence that you know he's going to do everything he can to go catch the ball and same thing with Jack and JP and you know Eric and dalen all those guys that are getting a lot of the Reps and um you know it's going to be exciting to watch and when you have receivers that are going to bust their tail for every ball and every route it gives you confidence to make those tight throws because you know they're going to fight for it and they're not going to let Defenders go make plays and so I think that's just that trust factor and we definitely uh they've earned my trust and and hopefully they trust me and I think we're just ready to go connect and uh I'm ready to watch those guys make plays I mean it's I truly believe they're some of the best Playmakers in the country and um it's my job to put it near them and they're going to make plays and make me look good so should be good
