with local breaking news hello everyone I'm Brian Miller we start this Wednesday night with breaking news it's happening right now as you can see there right next to me an inferno still sending large black plumes of smoke into the early evening Sky crews are still working right now battling that multi-alarm fire on Fort Way's East Side meanwhile hundreds of people already taken to social media posting pictures and video of that smoke which can be seen for Miles right now now here at the station on hillas road we're about 5 miles away and we can see it rising in the air from Outside the Fire was called in at New Haven Avenue with Wayne trace the city is now pleading with people to avoid the area they sent out a public safety alert to your cell phone just within about the last 30 to 40 minutes or so now let's go live we do have reporter on scene right now is Troy Grant she is uh at the scene of the fire where you could see crew still actively battling this in the Smoke still just billowing up into the air Choice yeah Brian I've gone to crime scenes and lots of tragedies but I've seen nothing like this now like you said it took it's only five miles away from our station it took our me and my photog at least half an hour just to get out here traffic was just insane and so we I did speak to the Pio on the phone they cannot release any information about the building or the address just yet but obviously my background speaks for itself so I'm going to take a step away from the camera to show you guys what we got going on here on the corner of Wayne trace and New Haven Avenue so since we've been out here the fire trucks have been extinguishing this fire they've been putting it out I've actually felt the water been spraying on my back this whole time and they more crews have been coming and coming now again they cannot confirm who the fire where the fire is located at exactly and they're they're going to try to get to us momentarily but tons of people are out here right now all of their noses are covered their eyes are covered and it's just it's a mess this is this is the most chaotic scene I've seen while working here and now I'm going to come back for a second just to give you guys another look this fence behind me they just put out over here there was in active Flames when we arrived here not even 20 minutes minutes ago so there were Flames they just put those out and there are still people coming actually the a few people a few moments ago a family came out here bringing cases of water to the firefighters and as as you guys know it's a hot day so I can only imagine how they're feeling right now again they have not confirmed the address or what building is on fire right now but we're going to check within we're going to check with the Pio momentarily to hopefully get some answers for you guys we're live on New Haven a Troy Grant Fox 55 news all right there's a rapidly changing situation out there it's been changing a lot just in the last 15 minutes now we've already seen numerous photos of the fire let's take another view this one from near the Glen brck Mall this was sent into us here in The Newsroom by Anthony a viewer and we're also getting a view from a little bit closer to the fire take a look at this you can see just how dark that smoke is from this one this is Adam rice we want to thank Adam for sending this in now if you have photos and we know they are out there there are lot of them tonight you can send them right now using the share it tool that's on our website at wftc we're continue to post updates there and you can also get the free Fox 55 news app to keep up with us as well
