welcome to the player highlight Series today we're going to be talking about somebody that I am very excited about I was so impressed with how he performed this weekend and we're going to jump right into it his name is Jaylen Reed he's a senior from Detroit Michigan playing for the Penn State nitty Lions oh my gosh this guy had the game of his life starting off hot against West Virginia first let's take a look at his statline here uh nothing really jumps off the page as being crazy uh but as we know especially with defense you know effort just doesn't show on the stat sheet you got to see what happens inside of the game so let's jump into it after a pass break up on first down you see him in run support here coming off the edge beautifully cuts inside matches the motion he's ready to play that if it's a Jet Sweep but he cuts right underneath and catches the running back perfect play jayen picks up his fumble recovery right here some great pressure from Penn State on the blitz you know fumbled snap that was a big story of this game centers had some issues on the first day uh but Jaylen right there to pick up that fumble he's there where he needs to be right place right time another fumbled snap but Jaylen Reed is ready drives right downfield right down those hash marks he is ready for the quarterback that chaos mode hits and he is on top of it he takes advantage of that opportunity as soon as they fumble as soon as they take a misstep he was there on top of it great play here are a couple examples of his hitting power right here on a run play Stuffs the running back right in the middle uh playing as that down safety and like a cover three look and now he's in the middle again this time it's on the tight end as he's going up for the catch pops him in the back knocks that ball loose the hitting power is there for Jaylen we'll finish off here with some run support again as the quarterback goes to the right side he perfectly sets The Edge beats him to it at a perfect angle stops the Run Jaylen Reed first game so impressed I thought he looked like some sort of hybrid safety I'm thinking Buddha Baker I'm thinking jabril Peppers I'm thinking der James he's a little undersized but he's he's 6 feet tall 209 he's a great safety I'm excited to watch this guy for the rest of the season see where he's going to end up I think this is an NFL prospect I checked some of the draft boards checked some Prospect list I didn't see his name this is a guy that's kind of flying under the radar and if he's going to do this on the first week on the road in a big game Pat mcafe is watching I mean that was impressive and I'm I'm excited to see what he does the rest of this year and if he ends up you know rising up the boards if he starts becoming a prospect the team start looking at this is a player that can fit inside the Box this is a player that can play safety that can cover the the slot he can cover the edge on runs he can cover the inside on run fits as we saw in this game he made a goal line tackle in this game and I don't know if you realize but I only showed highlights from the first half that's because in the second half they avoided him him every single play he never had the ball thrown his Direction they ran away from him they did rpos and went the direction away from him the entire second half this is a game changer this is a player that is going to be electric the entire season that's all I got for Jaylen Reed if you see what I see let me know because I think this guy's going to be a stud if you made it to the end thank you for watching if you have a player that you saw this week that's on your favorite team that you want me to look at and you know do a highlight series on let me know I'm always down to find new talent I can only watch so many games so if you watch a game that I haven't seen and you see a player that's really good let me know I want to get as many people on my draft board this year so that I can do you know some good draft Recaps some good mock drafts over the summer thank you so much for watching I would appreciate any support that you could give me with whether that's a like share comment I don't care I know it's annoying but thank you so much for watching I appreciate it
