Reynaldo Lopez & Brian Snitker Discuss Impressive Return From Injury, Braves Win vs. Philadelphia

[Music] Lopez give you exactly what you were hoping to see tonight yeah absolutely you know I um that's was perfect really I mean just with the pitches the Innings what he went through in the rehab you know he extended a little farther today um and I really like kind of when he stepping on it it was really good so um no I think that was about as good as you could get right there for him to come out and do that you got butun to keep doing what he's been doing I mean just a pretty important game no it was you big walk from cair just getting him in a bat you know while we're waiting for him to heal you know it's good that you know we have that availability to I mean end up getting us helping us get another run um Gio did too made some couple nice plays in front of him too um so that was a good that was a good win really good win we're talking about a good win last week in San Frank coming off of Denver but this one's kind of just sometimes you just need to pick me up it was today it was good because we kind of started the game if you want write down to it on a little bit of a downer with Austin's situation and seeing him in a cast and um but you know just like we talked these guys I'm good bad or ugly nothing phases them I mean they just they go out and they play and and um and you know it all starts with that guy on the on the mound and Lopey was really really good how much has marfield from just playing no I think it's been great I mean his just wherewithal and the professionalism and his awareness of things and and uh has been it's been good we've been fortunate to get him too and again you know you got a guy like Aussie go down and we get a veteran player like that I think that's that's huge that you know he's been through these wars and and um uh you know so it he's done a really good job I feel catch there at the two catches there at the end I think you just mentioned three guys who've all been released by other teams this year no that's well that's what I said we're running out of guys to bring in but you know what good for them I mean guys that go through that and just shows the grit and you know how they the guys love to play baseball it doesn't matter where they're at and I got a lot of respect for guys like that that come in here and now were involved in this and helping us and so it's it's good how significant was it to get that production from the bullpen as well being able to utilize Grant homes tonight no it's good that's kind of think I said earlier you know he did a great job in that starting role but he can provide such a good um Bridge type thing and especially now that he's he's been stretched out and you know he's probably got to feel as strong as he has all year quite honestly after the starts and then having the time off and then um that that could be a really good piece to have in the middle of that you know in the middle of a game to try and get us to the back end of the bullpen um and he was he was sharp tonight and I they had seen him either I don't think wh you think maybe another night or two I don't know I mean I'm just I asked him coming up to steps after the game and he's there he's going to run the bases tomorrow and we'll just see you know everything feels good right now but I I don't know I I can't even speculate you know what when it's going to be all right okay thanks here or this is right on top of y'all this is better okay they move out AO that was was that about as good as you could have expected the first start back yeah I uh didn't expect things to go as well as they did again but um you know I would say the most important thing is that the team won and that at the end of the day I feel good how how was your command so much better it seemed like in this game then you only made one Rehab start but tonight you looked as sharp as you did before you know the forearm tightness and everything how was your command so sharp yeah I think just maintaining my focus on my mechanics and I think being able to go on that rehab and just and sort of just continue to focus on the mechanics and then I think something that helped out a lot too was just the the bullpens in between the Rehab start and all the times and all the SS I got to throw I feel like that just gave me the opportunity again kind of fine tune the mechanics did you feel just a little refreshed I know the [Music] yeah yeah I definitely felt uh refreshed and you know I think that helped me out a little bit tonight and more so even I would say that you know just the time between you know actual out ings I felt like it just allotted me the opportunity to kind of uh fill up the tank a little bit more you still feel a lot of confidence in that Clubhouse you know losing Austin R's big deal especially when you've lost 70 players but you still feel a lot of confidence in there yeah I honestly think we're just going through a really weird time right now it just feels like someone comes off the I and someone goes on it then someone else comes off and then someone else goes on so it's just really strange but there's nothing we can do so I think as a team we just continue to move forward um you know and just we go out with the conviction to win every game out there and to just continue to advance and hopefully you know just go as deep play for as long as we can and go as deep as we can and um you know just hope for the best for those guys and hope that they can make a a speedy and a healthy recovery and they come back to contribute hopefully how important has Marcelo Z been to this team been the one guy that just keeps hitting like he has all year yeah I mean he's been an absolute godsend to have on the team and I mean knock on wood that we can you know he can stay healthy and continue to do what he does but just having him on the team as a as a teammate and you know obviously the way he's swinging the bat I mean he's just been so huge for us is this almost feel like a a playoff game tonight in a sense y'all trying to chase down these guys and I think you got them seven times in two weeks did it kind of have a little bit of a feel like a little bit more than just a regular season game uh yeah the regular season games um I don't think it has necessarily the same adrenaline that a postseason game would but as long as we're in the situation where we're at where you know it absolutely behooves us to for us to win and for them to lose and yeah there's a little bit of that feel or that atmosphere to it Ronaldo you had a season High 10 strikeout night and two of those coming on change UPS can you just walk me through kind of your mentality and comfort confidence of all those pitches in Your Arsenal to utilize at really important moments yeah to be honest it feels like I've given up the most home runs off that change up so for me tonight you know just be able to utilize all my pitches and um you know I'm not going to lie that the thought definitely crossed my mind at some point be like oh don't throw the change up here you don't want to give a homer give up a homer but um then I remind myself you know just to to to have that conviction to just believe in your pitches and have confidence and if they hit it they hit and if they don't they don't um so I feel like the change up was kind of pivotal and and helping me sort of change their eyes and change locations for them um so and just it's about just having conviction in your pitches and and having confidence in yourself [Music]
