I, I guess now the, the, the brunt of the storm is west of, of the city. Yeah. So, so it, it made landfall west of New Orleans, south of Baton Rouge. It made landfall right around 5 p.m. So, uh we have officially uh uh written in the books landfall of Francine in Terre Bone Parish in Louisiana. Winds of 100 miles an hour is a category two. So that's the latest. You can actually see how the center of the eye crossed Terrebonne Parish there. Uh You see, I, I think it's pronounced D lock there in the southern part of Louisiana. Uh That is where the very heavy rain, the eye wall has passed through winds of 100 gust up to 120. So again, official landfall has occurred of a category two hurricane in Louisiana. This is Francine now 100 miles an hour, uh gust up to 120. It's still moving northeast at that's fairly quick for a, for a hurricane. I mean, you know, 17 is it seems slow to us as humans, I suppose. But, uh, for hurricane that is, that's fairly quick. So it's moving along, uh, at 17 miles an hour. There's the official landfall information again. 5 p.m. in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana is a category two with winds up to 100 MPH. That's the sustained wind. Now, hurricane conditions are expected in Baton Rouge. Then down through the coast, there's New Orleans, which is under tropical storm warnings. It is gonna be on the east side of this. Now, that doesn't mean New Orleans is not going to see uh, significant problems with this because where they are relative to the center of this not great. Now, storm surge may be reduced for them to, you know, 2 to 5 ft and 5 to 10 ft of storm surge is possible where this is making landfall. Now, however, 5 to 8 plus inches of rain in New Orleans and then it gets, uh, uh, significantly lower as you get away from the center of Francine. A, a big band of heavy rain will move through Mississippi, parts of Tennessee and western Alabama as the remnants of Francine will move through late this week farther to the north. Then here's what we're gonna be watching next week, we expect tropical storm Gordon to form sometime this evening. Uh, if it's not this evening, it'll be overnight and tropical storm Gordon will move to the west by Monday. It'll be still still, still in the Central Atlantic. So still plenty of time to keep an eye on that one.
