Larson on ‘bummer’ of losing Regular Season Championship by single point | NASCAR

Kyle lson here at Darlington Raceway where a ton of speed in that five you've led the most laps of anybody all season long and it came down to you in Tyler reic lost a regular season championship by a point anything you could have done differently um yeah just it just got a little sideways for us when Ross stayed out and uh I didn't get the best launch and got race in in the 14 got a great run and got by me down the backstretch and I just lost control of the race there and then I didn't do a good job on the final um you know launch there so yeah that was uh a bummer but um you know with Tyler and I being so close in points in the day we had going in the day they kind of had going you know not being as strong as I thought they'd be um I was definitely safe and uh just trying to get to the finish so um yeah bummer that you he was able to pass some cars there at the end but uh you know our team did a great job um you know pick was phenomenal uh our race car was you know amazing too so um yeah I'm proud of it bum that we missed out on the driver side by a point but we still did get the owners uh regular season locked up so um thanks to Justin Aly for doing a great job at Charlotte and um yeah we'll uh just try to uh you not uh not have what happened in 2022 happen again we'll head to three racetracks for this opening round that are all very different and very unique I know you guys are good on points and you never know what can happen in the playoffs but how do you attack these next three weeks yeah just um really just take it week by week I mean Atlanta's crazy so I mean you got a 50-50 shot of crash in there so um then you just kind of got to reevaluate after that so we've uh we've been fast there we just haven't finished yet so hopefully next week we'll be a little bit better and we can uh see the checker flag thanks Cal thanks
