METS THERAPY REACTION | Jeff McNeil “likely done for the year” due to wrist fracture

Mets therapy breaking news reaction Carlos Mendoza just confirmed that Jeff mcneel will miss most likely the rest of the season with a fractured wrist he got hit on the hand uh in last night's game uh immediately it looked like it was I mean stayed in the game for another inning and then missed his next step bat um look as far as the baseball is concerned Jose glacius has been a revelation since getting called up here and is so good defensively that there's a a world where he's better what the caveat to that is Jeff is a very good to average second baseman as is and what Vientos has been in third base is serviceable but they have that line shift they go to defensively when you want to put a glacius at third that's now not an option so um whatever down tick in defense you get from having Vientos out there for nine innings we'll see how it plays out on the field with a glaus now your full-time second base and as a just as a person Jeff mcneel you know he's had an interesting season a very rough first half of the Year first uh three months before the All-Star break started to turn it around right before the break and then just took off at the the other side of the All-Star break I believe his Ops is still over 900 he's been in an extra based machine his slugging I think is second on the team or third on the team behind although I haven't checked allonzo lately but uh he has a really good slugging percentage is what I'll say uh since the All-Star break and you know you you really saw the team start to Rally around that you know Francisco the happy Jeff we like happy Jeff so you wish him a speedy recovery the best part about what mcneel did since the break and his contributions to the winning I like think there's two parts one you can say he's part of the turnaround they didn't do all this despite Jeff mcneel no he contributed to a lot of winning in the second half of the year here and on the other side there's an extension that's about to kick in or if it hasn't kicked in already that he's now not a concern you know you can go into next season with him as your second baseman and not be worried um that you know there's there's a a blockade there or somebody in the way of one of the younger guys taking over so you know you wish him a speed recovery and uh you know we'll see what happens and the the Kendal every day ERA with the Mets uh game's about to start the Mets taking on the Cincinnati rids in game two of this series I'll have another reaction video uh later tonight I I owe the wife a date night so uh we're going to go see a movie in the second half of the game but I'll make sure I get a reaction video later tonight
