Start of Show it's Tuesday nope it's Wednesday Tuesday was the night of the season so far in Major League Baseball thumbs up or thumbs down I like drama but it wasn't just drama in one game which we'll get to I know there was a fight and actual punches were thrown yes real fight kind of in Major League Baseball I think it was the night of the year I think there was a mix of drama Wild games it's bees there's just all kinds of crap going on in yesterday's game even the Mike schil decision which we'll get to a little bit later on I thought that was just like interesting strategy talk do you guys agree night of the year so far I mean you it's only been like 30ish nights there's a lot going on but it's may like shoot as soon as the calendar turns over got all everything's hot now I can't wait for AJ's pick today because AJ's gonna get hot may may is my month yeah you flip the showers bring May bets but of the first month of the season I just think last night was the most entertaining night of baseball so far yeah it was great listen there was everything I mean everything from you know the first game of the day Jack flare mowed against his old team right cool mowed and then my buddy Shelby Miller blew it in the N which I felt bad for Shel because I love Shelby but uh and then you know the fight obviously Milwaukee the bees two hour delay and by the way it got Jordan Montgomery not to pitch I know which is interesting the diamond back still which is pretty cool uh I mean there was just a lot the sh decision I mean there was just a lot of stuff happening all right so let's start let's get right to Biz and charge the mound he's charging the Charge the Mound m just Quicky recap obviously you can see it and you've probably seen it online already but Jose Siri hit a homer enjoyed it he enjoys all of his homers it was a well hit Homer too if you listen to Chris Guion who spoke postgame Freddy Peralta hit Jose Siri with a three-oh pitch Freddy got booted from the game so did Pat Murphy two innings later Jose Siri and Abner urbe became bestest friends and punches were thrown where would you like to begin there's a few Liars first of all Freddy was dealing other than the home run so like the Rays were like oh he's kicked out thanks Chris Guion I I thought it was a case of like let the boys boys but this is what we always talk about then this here I love it I love this you know why because they actually threw down they didn't just go oh hold me back Mr umpire hold me back like Abner rebe is like you want some of me let's go and he threw the first I mean it was kind of a slap but he threw the first slap and then Jose Siri came back out poor ree Hoskins though got trampled because he was trying to be Peacekeeper and and poor you know rebe kind of pushed him down which sucked for Reese but I don't know I thought it was great I think it's good for the game I'm not promoting violence or fighting but like things like this are good I mean rivalries are good we talk about in other sports we talk about like the especially the NBA you got guys trolling other guys like you know but for years this is the one thing that veteran guys would always say and I get it and I'm listen I'm all for bat flips and I'm all for you know you strike me out you wna you want to give me a fist pump but then if I get a hit off you and I do the same you can't get mad right so Freddy Peralta if you're mad because your team does all kinds of antics now too when they hit home runs so William cerus is one of the biggest Antics guys there's a bunch of them that do some Antics right and so don't be mad if a guy does it and that's what he does he hits the Home Run he does his bat flip and his spin around whatever the heck he did but where's the line like where do you draw the line like you're mad because you gave it the home run so you hit him the next to B why they'll give up the Home Run they didn't try to hit him that's what of course three he's dealing he 65 pitches in and three he drills him right in the hip hey you go on Brewer's Twitter and they're like he didn't try to hit him there's no proof that he tried to you know what I'm saying but where's the line pres where do you draw the line where do you if you're if you're eventually someone's going to get mad if you keep pushing this line farther and farther and again I'm for bat flips and I'm for all the celebration because I played with em motion I did all of it right but like there is a line where some people don't handle it as well they get mad not seeing Freddy thre at them because you know it's just just happen to get away from him three and0 but where do you draw that line that's that's my question you don't draw the line umpires don't draw the line let the players draw the line so what so what if he got 3 0 had zero walks was in complete control of the game and wanted to hit the guy Roy oswal used to always say he man I ain't ever trying to get my walk totals up he said you never hit a guy on purpose they never know when you're going to actually hit a guy on purpose so you got to get him in there hey so what what what's the big he didn't throw at his head there was nothing malicious about it he hit him in the it B he's going to have a tough time rolling out as it ban hit him in the side of the thigh like let's say it was on purpose hey you know what just don't just don't style it so much if he really was like oh I'm so mad for him pimping that home run it would have been first pitch right in the ribs and then he was going to go back and mow guys down Freddy can throw a ball up in the zone with the best of them in the game actually he's top three in fast at the top of the Zone swing and Miss he can get guys to swing and Miss he can throw the ball at the top of the Zone in the guy's ribs there's no need to throw him out of this game Rays didn't like it Rays get an opportunity and then and then warnings should be put out but gucon had to insert himself in the situation who was gucon offended by Siri bat flip like if you're going to be the person making the decision you shouldn't insert your own opinion of oh he shouldn't bat flip like if that's the case like like where's the line for umpires to me he should have stayed out of it let the team take care of it your rebay did try to take care of it with a open-handed slap so he didn't break his hand I have a question so anytime you don't like what a player does should you throw at him sure no yes you just said no you just said sure listen I am totally all about whatever it is that you feel if you're offended by somebody does and you want to drill somebody in the butt cheek in the leg not up not up above the belt to me you do it but you don't stand there and you go oh oh and you look at the dirt and you go oh it's slipped no you do it it happened move on there's plenty of ways to handle things in baseball and you have to be able to push guys off the plate you have to be able to knock guys down you have to be able to retaliate if other teams hit guys but MLB and the umpires feel like they need to step in and I don't agree with it but why why why should you just be able to throw at a guy because he does something you don't like like that's stupid to me why batter has no recourse what if the pitcher does something you don't like what you gonna throw your bat at him I mean that's that's dumb just because the guy has a ball in his hand and I do something he doesn't like why should I get thrown at make a better [ __ ] pitch you don't like what I do don't pay attention I'm not doing it for you anyways I'm doing it for usually the crowd of your own team like what's like I mean why does it like why just because the guy's holding the ball he gets to he gets to throw it at me like that's a stupid argument to me I hate that argument yeah listen coming from somebody that got thrown out a lot in his life I know listen I knew it was coming a lot of times you know what I took it went to first you know what fine but it was different times nowadays the times where you can do whatever the hell you want out there you literally can do whatever you want and nobody's supposed to get mad so why because the pitcher gets mad listen we love Freddy pralon he's laughing and joking and next time we have him on I mean you know he of course he's going to say he didn't do it on purpose but why does he get the choice with the ball because he has the ball and he's like oh I don't like what you did so I'm going to throw a ball possibly hurt you like to me that's wrong like if you either go all in on let the kids play and there's no your boy Salvador Perez with Tim Anderson I like fun he gets bat flipped on all of a sudden Salvador Prez don't like it coming from the royals who were the biggest bat flippers trash Talkers in the league back in the day and he was on the team so like you can't have it both ways either let it off go or you let none of it Go yep but I think you can I think you can control it I think you can control it by guys listen if AJ is fine with getting thrown at he can do his Antics understanding that my team may throw at him for what we perceive as disrespecting my team understanding that if I throw if we throw at AJ AJ has an opportunity to retaliate against my team whether you believe that or not to me it's something that is part of the game and I would never condone somebody getting hurt and people will say well you know there's a chance that somebody could get hurt if you throw at somebody I understand that I understand that and there's I think it needs to be in the players hands and not the umpire's hands to me also there's a huge difference in the way that you throw out someone for reasoning there there's two sides for me if let's say this game happened last night and the Brewers got hit by a pitch four times in the game I don't care if it was on purpose or not you have you need to get your [ __ ] together as a team we can't keep getting hit and that's happened before and then the other team retaliates this to me is different if you actually are throwing at Players because they have an eight out of ten bat flip welcome to Tuesday in Major League Baseball I don't think sorry John Singleton had had a crazy good bat flip yesterday too are we going to throw at him like it was cool it was nice like I I I feel like we're going backwards if we're judging bat flips and if we feel offended by them that's what I'm saying we Geto later he's like doing this basically to someone it was a different time though when I was getting thrown out there was you weren't supposed to B flip you weren't supposed to show emotion you were supposed to like I'm a robot I mean he didn't do that much crazy Andrew bendi the other night hit a you know walkoff forer had a great bli they he didn't get thrown at you know dude there's five of these a night that like have a little extra swag to him maybe 20 night right people they want people to watch baseball and everyone's like let him bat flip when they but that's what I'm saying like where's the line who draw who's the police that draws the line the line is to me when someone is staring someone down trying to int like trying to turn into a fight if you if you flip a bat and you walk your way over okay well I'm telling you how the game should look at things nowadays because you can't celebrate you can't celebrate anymore who's to say he threw at him because he was he celebrated too much may he got three and was like I'm mowing all these dudes down why am I going to waste three more pitches to come back in the zone and AR so he did throw at him then I'm not saying he didn't well you can also go like this it's not because just walking it's not because of the yeah I mean until Freddy comes out and says until Freddy comes out and said like Cole Hamill said you know I'm just trying to I'm just trying to induct Bryce Harper into the league this is how you know until somebody comes out and says it to me if he was really offended by the bat flip it would have been first pitch he got three 0 you know there there's there's so many like there's Choose Your Own Adventure here like you can't say it was because of the bat flip to me I don't think it was because if that was the case he'd have said something as he was running around the bases or it would have been first he did say something to him he did he he St he stared him down when he hit the Home Run watch the replay Freddy takes a couple steps towards him and looks at him I don't know if he said anything because all you could see was from the back but watch the replay he actually walks towards him and stares at him so you think he got three to hit him yeah because what you said he got three 0 and he's like I'm not gonna walk him I'll just hit him move on that so but but it wasn't because he was three it was because he's like I can hit him now it's three 0 I can hit him and move on and I guarantee you nobody thought he was going to get kicked out of the game he thought he was there were going to maybe be a warning you know if you notice ser reaction at first Siri was like okay I get it I I did something I got hit now we move on were wrong here because they jumped on it now step two Siri is out by a lot keeps jogging over first and they're pissed at each other and they gave him a little shoulder the little thing he gave him a little shoulder and I love Siri why'd you do that CU I wanted to yeah that basically is like [ __ ] let's go yeah and then they went good for them that's what I'm saying man good for them let's go you want you know it's was better than there were certain guys you played against and I'm not going to name his name because everyone knows him but he used to be in the back and he'd be like like trying to hit dudes like around the corner like no bro like square up to a dude one time I remember we got into that guy's team when one time and I remember when our team I was on they were looking for this guy and he was running around the outside no nobody could get near him but he was well look at me I'm gonna try and be tough I'm like yeah screw that dude let's go get in the middle you needed a cam just to follow him like can we get a tracker on this guy because we can't find him oh trust me we had about three guys that were trying to grab this guy one one around one around both sides go go around the pile and cat had this is this is when I was on the Red Sox we had some big dudes too that were looking for a certain person I love I love Freddy's energy I love your rebay energy two dudes that are all about their team and I think the Rays need Siri to be exactly who Siri is he brings some flash to a team that is struggling right now but I think last year he brought some Flash and he's he's he can be a GameChanger out there in a team that doesn't have anybody that's really stepping up right now yeah but the problem I have is that the Brewers essentially said or at least at least Freddy and we'll talk to Freddy at some point said I don't like the way that you sell celebrate so unless you change I'm throwing at you if you celebrate like that okay what does that give him you're saying he says that or you're saying well wasn't that the message that was sent on the three-oh pitch hey I don't like the way that you celebrate so you can't do that and if you do that I'm gonna throw at you I feel like we're back in 2005 again like I just didn't know we're still doing that over over a bat like a little above mid bat flip like it anything crazy are you comfortable in the box then when you face Freddy isn't that Freddy's job to get you out but but throwing at his job is not to throw at a guy talk we're wiping out the celebration right just just th this was just him establishing intimidation and saying I'm gonna hit people in general it could have been cavayero it could have been Randy a Ros Arena it could be anybody it had nothing to do with the Home Run um I whether it did or it didn't I'm I'm not going to argue that because I you know I would agree that it had something to do with the home run the back flip I don't know but to me if you're if you have to second guess a dude that's already punching seven to eight guys out a game and is dominating and then he does something like that there's a there's guys that are not comfortable getting in the box then there's other guys who you don't want to hit you don't want to hit obviously AJ's talked about it I remember Manny Machado you don't ever want to throw at Manny Machado he gets extra locked in when that happens I remember I remember Jonathan scope talking about that in the playoffs he was like cuz he did the whole thing where he kicked Haus agular running down the first Baseline and scope goes guys you guys do what you want he said but I've seen it you throw at Manny he gets locked in and we don't need Manny locked in right now and so you you make your bed you sleep in it to me if Freddy can add a little bit of intimidation to Freddy fastball Smiles hey maybe it helps him and ultimately that's what he needs to do help himself I agree with with Vlad in the comments here this is some old school logic throwing up players is dangerous and causing injuries sorry you don't get to hit people because they hurt your feelings I I'm going to stand by this the only time that it's appropriate to throw at someone is if your team has been hit many times many times right so is what is guccion throwing you out of the game then your team got hit four times Scotty Braun gets on the mound drills the first dude in the ribs yeah but that's not this scenario this scenario was a dude hit a homer then there was it was a three-oh count a dude who knows where every pitch is going all of a sudden just drills a guy you can't tell me I mean listen it wasn't on purpose yeah my no it was on purpose there's no there's no defense for this one I'm sorry the defenses he hit him he got he shouldn't have been kicked out they should have just let it go and that was it Chris guani who I personally like and I think he's a pretty good umpire but was listen umpires are told certain things so they did what they're supposed to do but I think we should ask our guests about it because they're both pitchers and they've probably never thrown anybody on purpose never ever ever both veteran thr each other oh for sure Tyler and Taylor Rogers joining ft live now oh we joining us on a great day too Tyler Taylor & Tyler Rodgers join the show Taylor how you guys doing it almost looks like you're in the same hotel room but I bet you're in totally different places uh same Hotel different rooms joining room do you have the open do you have the open room where you guys can like hey T what's up T good morning you look great I know we look alike well when you work with your family you don't really want to live with your family that's for sure well great to have great to have you both on um and let's actually start there uh can you tell us what what you guys think about policing in baseball these days is there a time where it's appropriate to quote I'll say it this way send a message and and also should that time be when you don't like how a player celebrates yeah I mean you know all those are all circumstantial right there's always there's not one way to go about each situation there's always history involved you know um what your team kind of camaraderie is what your team kind of culture is so it's just hard to like pinpoint or just say this is how things should go in each particular situation it's just how you feel about it in the moment go ahead a damn it I was trying gonna guess which one of y'all was which and they put your names up on the screen so I'm mad now I'm mad at our producer and our director because I was going to because I they purposely asked which one of you was witch and I was going to play a game but it's over now so continue um Tyler do you feel the same way like how Ty can police things uh throw an 82 so we can rely on him to put one in the ribs at 82 yeah when you're the slowest throwing guy in the MLB I'm not sending a lot of messages that's for sure yeah bull crap you hit a guy in the face this year so you could you you got obviously can do whatever you want if you throw a slider and it hits a dude in the face I'm just I'm just glad no one got hurt that and uh you know full disclosure That was supposed to be down and away so in all reality terrible pitch yeah but that'll be on your highlight reel for the rest of your life you're gonna from from the day your grandkids are gonna be like look at Grandpa look at this he threw this pitch and he hit him right in the face it's unbelievable seriously he's okay though yeah but he's like watch his reaction he goes what the [Laughter] [ __ ] go I mean no reaction did your brother was your brother jeal was Taylor mad because he's like I've never done that oh no I was excited man I get more excited for him than than I do myself I think if you look at my Twitter it's just it's straight Tyler Rogers pitching ninja retweets so I just I love watching that stuff um all right so let's get into the season a little bit uh tellor you want to kick things off like how are things going for the Giants at the moment did he say Tyler or Taylor oh Taylor you got it okay all right yeah you know what man same we're we're just in it now you know get into the dayto day and uh this the that was the first game of a 10 game Ro yesterday so try to uh just win the series that's that's we're kind of in it right now and um just put our best foot forward at the same time you know just having a good time getting to know the teammates a little bit better now that that we're in at a month here and uh just having a good time Tyler what do you think yeah much of the same just trying to stay you know kind of even he we just got done with the first month so a lot of baseball left um trying not get too high or too low after after the first month but uh you know kind of using that first month to see where we're at what we need to work on and get better at I don't know if anybody's told you guys this but do you know your War your career Wars mm you cannot make this up both of you have the exact same War today you both have a 6.3 War War the rate the rate that your careers were going you went to Austin P it took forever to make it to the big leagues we played together in the exhibition games and you got fired Tyler in 2019 and you for another season down in Triple A where you had another whatever 1.8 erra and then your brother's at Kentucky and he's already in the big leagues did you ever think that on 20 on May 1st 2024 Tyler that you would have caught up to your brother in War I know war is not the biggest thing but did you ever think you would have caught up to him and Taylor you better kick it in the gear because he's catching you even though he's coming from way down under he's catching you well no I didn't think I'd ever catch Tay in in uh any type of pitching statistic um which I can publicly Cong uh give Taylor congrats he just got his Gold Card a couple days ago for eight years of Major League service so congratulations yeah nice yeah yeah so but uh I guess um all those years in the minors were frustrating but uh you know it there uh the light at the end of the tunnel was I get to play with my brother now so it was all worth it what was that moment like when when you first found out that you guys were going to be on the same major league team together for you Tyler like what was your reaction right away were you emotional about it or more just like excited yeah totally excited uh couldn't like could not wait for spring training to start and just talking about all the hypotheticals like we're going to do dinners on the road we're going to do all this D and um just just I mean it was unbelievable at first to be honest with you but uh um I'm glad that we got to do it I like the joke that I have a lot of poll around here that I brought my brother in stuff like that um and then just my one of my favorite memories is I after wins in San Francisco my two-year-old likes to come sit at Uncle Tay's locker and hang out for a bit so that's uh that's my favorite part I'm one of the only guys I'm one of the only guys in in baseball that has uh clearance to bring their nephew in the clubhouse so that's pretty cool that is cool and how and how are all these activities that you guys were planning when when Taylor signed how I mean how's it going is there like are we falling behind on the activities or is it like is one of you not showing up for dinners or you guys just living your best reliever life like you just kind of show up for the game and do what you do we're we're living the life you know what I think uh I think the Submariner over here is a little Loosey Goosey with the wine menu you know because he knows he's not paying yet so he's just ordering whatever sounds cool to him but uh that's that's what it's all about so you know hopefully hopefully I'm still around when uh after Ty's a free agent then I'm gonna I'm gonna wrap it back around and do the same thing to him okay so you pay for everything Taylor you you pay for everything because you've made more cash right yeah that's Ty didn't even bring his wallet this year it's unbelievable I don't know where it's at that's unbelievable but can we can we can we actually bring that video back up see if our see if our director can bring that video back up of you guys warming up together what on Earth are y'all doing why is the Lefty on the left side and the righty throwing submarines off of your shoelaces on the other side so it's hard to see but literally just on the right side of the screen there where Tai's at there's a big bench so the left arm would be kind of too close to the bench it's a little tight quarters down there in San Francisco so we had to flip-flop it that's dangerous that's dangerous yeah well you know I think they forgot when they built that ballpark I think they forgot about the bullins they they did they did and they they tried to add him to behind the fence so that so that Tyler would never maybe he would give up one home run a year now when they move the fences in for him you guys hey you know Eric if I we could go back real quick when you're talking about Tai you know dominating the minor leagues all those years and stuff you know I'm running around like you know just proud of my brother just telling everybody not sure why he's not in the show what the heck's going on he's good I promise what's going on so like after he got called up you know obviously there was excitement but um once he got going I think a little Vindication kind of took over my excitement level just because I was I had been running around telling everybody that he was going to be successful just give him a chance um so that's been cool to see that play out oh I Told You So I like that exactly yeah love it do you guys so since since Taylor you got your go card and you get two guests to take to a game do you take Tyler your first game or you're like hey bro let like here's my goal card I get two passes to the game so I'm gonna take you as my first guest and those will be our you walk in together and you guys can hand the gold card back and forth because nobody can tell you apart yeah no no Tai's Tai's moved down to number two now uh my nephew he's he's going to be number one so Ty will have to find his own way into the stadium I'm go I'm going with with his kid I like it I like it now do you guys live together in spring training because you guys are talking about activities so do you guys room together in spring training you guys move you and then during the season you live together or you don't live together during the during the season we we are living separate but uh Tai lives in Arizona uh now so I moved into his house uh for spring and uh that's why I didn't give him any rent money so that's why I've kind of been trying to repay the bill a little bit this year ah nice Kyler are you okay with that you're okay with him not paying rent I mean I feel like you should maybe charge him double I will I will more than make up for it over these next five more [Laughter] months uh is anyone in invited to these dinners like have have you you know brought a team made along just like one to kind of enjoy the Rogers Brothers experience oh yeah oh yeah you know you got to do some Bullpen dinners you got to get a couple of the team dinners going so that's been fun and then uh every now and then you know you just get a group of guys that are that are on the road that don't have anybody in town or just want to come come come eat but uh very rarely I don't even know if we've done a dinner just me and you Ty I think we always have somebody with us I think you're right we we went uh we had an off day here at Boston and a few of us went out and it was meay and uh Luke Jackson and uh Sean jelly the 611 pitcher and we're walking into like restaurants and bars and we're like why are we getting so many looks and then we're like we probably look like a circus act the two guys look the same we got a seven-footer with us just who's the wildest who's the wildest of the crew when you guys go out to eat not not between you two but who's the the wildest like the guy in the bullpen where you're like all right he's coming with us it's going to be a little crazy tonight or he's coming with us yes he's coming with us it's gonna be so exciting man Luke Jackson always brings the Thunder Luke Jackson brings a thunder he likes he's a good time that's for sure okay Taylor you have a different answer no no that that's a pretty good answer it's a pretty good answer I think sometimes I get myself into that category but I can't I can't uh you know self-proclaim that got it and now I I need to know because I don't have a twin brother have you guys give me the best twin flip trick you guys did like you know there a time with a coach you can't you can't do it on a baseball field because you guys obviously one throws from up here and the other one throws from down here so that clearly doesn't work but like was there like a high school you're like man I'm not good at physics so you know Taylor go take Tyler's test or something was there is there anything where you guys have used this to your advantage because I think it'd be pretty cool to have a twin and be like hey I'm not good at this you go take care of it we never really did stuff like that you know our our talents are very much the same and the things we're not good at we're both not good at and I think you know for us growing up like middle school high school stages like all we wanted was to be known as as Taylor or be known as just Tyler like I didn't I wanted everybody to know that I was an individual um so we never really played those games um it just didn't kind of play into what we were doing sorry to let you down no no I I just you guys you guys are like Crouch you guys are on the straight and narrow and I was more on the squiggly line path so I understand I would have been all about if I had a twin brother man I would have been like you go take that chemistry test for me you you're good at that yeah AJ AJ and Ja a that would have been yeah whatever yeah whatever AJ and AD I don't know whatever you want to call it I don't care go take the go take the physics test kid I'm going to go play baseball is there any cool I know you guys get tons of twins questions is there any cool things that like like if one of your like Taylor if your left arm hurts or if Tyler if you drag your knuckles On The Ground Taylor do you feel it in your knuckles like is there like a telepathy feeling uh also not a thing yeah letting you down again who's who's older I'm older I'm older got about 30 seconds okay ah yeah but again I don't that's not a thing like we were raised to like I I was always told that you don't you don't use that against them that's that was not your fault or his fault that one of you was born first you guys are brothers and you respect each other that's we were told growing up so it just never really played that card dang so you never played the Big Brother card like I'm 30 seconds older than you I'm going to beat you up kid I get to go first yeah I'm first mom no never did never did Tyler you grew up lucky and your parents are awesome that's right that's right Taylor Taylor what about um the way that you guys were known growing up obviously you were known as As baseball players was there like oh this one's louder this one can donk this you know this you know what how are you guys known right usually it's like oh this twin does this and this twin does that right this one's into this this one's into that were there any designations between you two not a lot not a lot um you know we we did the same thing uh we were we we got in the same classes because you know early on in elementary school we were in a different class Tai had a lot more homework had you know I was always kind of fooling around cuz my teacher didn't assign any homework but as a result of that I kind of fell behind in school so from there on out we were just in the same class the whole time we wanted to have the same education and then obviously we were doing the same Sports doing it together and it was always like we were just you know the Rogers or the Twins and we weren't really totally individuals that time so I think going to college separate places helped out got to kind of grow up our s and then uh you know to reconvene you know at 32 33 um and kind of have that tag again this totally fine and I wouldn't have it any other way you got it Tyler well said well said from what I got yeah so wait one of you went to Kentucky one of you went to Austin P right they're they're not that far from each other are they no a couple hours yeah I was gonna say they're not that far I mean in college you could have played all kinds of games AJ's all about this game playing yeah dude I'm just thinking about how awesome it would have been to have literally someone that looked just like me but like could do like when I didn't want to do something I could be like hey I'll give you 50 bucks to go yeah sure I'll do it yeah I ain't taking no test for you like I would yeah see then I see then I would have been like then I'm the older brother and you're forcing you to do that Tyler you go take my test for me because I'm 30 seconds older than you all right so let's get to the Giants what do you guys think about the Giants this year I mean I picked you guys to to make the playoffs I think you guys got an awesome team made some awesome additions this off season you're off to a little bit of a slowish start but what's it like you know not having Gabe around having Bob Melvin there this year and the chances going forward I'm with you AJ I like our roster um we have you know I guess they always say pitching a defense wins championships you hear that all the time and uh I think that's exactly what we got um you know just going to really come down to to timely hitting and and playing a full 162 especially in the NL West uh you know that's it's a little bit of a gauntlet with that team in blue down there South there's a couple teams that are a gauntlet in in the NLS it's a pretty tough division do you guys as a team think about stuff like we talk about like we talk about Jordan Hicks never being a starter ah you know CU Bullpen guys you guys talk about everything you talk about all the players on the team how the hitters stink how you guys are so good-looking and what wine you're going to get but do you guys talk about like Jordan Hicks man he might run out of innings like he's never started before or do you guys talk about the fact that you're gonna get Robbie Ray back an Allstar Sai Young type of closer I mean type of type of pickup halfway through the season do you guys talk about that much or is it like ah one game at a time we'll just figure it out when we get there a little bit of both you know you know how the talk is in the bullpen is you know you're either throwing too much or not enough there's never a perfect amount in the bullpen but I know we've definitely talked about how you know the pitching staff looks at the moment and then we're getting ready to add Alex Cobb and and uh Robbie Ray and just you know how that might look Allstar breakish and uh you know it it's funny how baseball works out right like on paper you have those two guys coming back we already have a pretty good set of five starters you're like oh [ __ ] there's a log Jam coming but something always happens something always works out and you're just going to need more pitching that's just the way it goes so it's kind of like a nice savings account or something but um I I really like our club we we got a we got a nice camaraderie going on um so I think that's going to bode well for us as the as the summer begins Taylor what was the reaction when Snell signed and do you feel like it it was kind of unfair for him to have to you know jump in so last minute like this I'm not blaming anyone obviously the if anything the free agent process has been kind of strange but um to to have to jump in that quickly and I know now he's on the iil for a little bit but ultimately you hope he comes back and looks like the Blake Snell that was a pain in the ass for your your team to deal with last year in the division yeah no doubt you know it's funny uh ever since spring two there in covid everybody's talked about how that we need to shorten spring training spring training is too long and then all of a sudden now with the free agents that signed late it's always like I didn't have time for spring training so you know there's just you can always make an excuse somewhere um but what I can tell you is Blake Snell's not making any excuses and he's he's on a Vengeance to come back and and prove that he is the S Young winner all right my my last one wait before he goes I got ask this because we asked this so he has a ad ductor right doesn't BL s have an adductor yeah isn't that just a groin why are we calling it adductor now every team is calling it an adductor what happened like I just pulled my groin we'll just go with the the hockey lingo lower body injury there you go perfect there you go perfect I like that baseball players not doctors well no but I just don't know why it changed all of a sudden What happened to the I pulled my you know it's I have a sports core I have a sports core injury how about I have a hernia okay cool it's it's sounds more more fancy and official ah I got it Tyler can you rate Camilo doval's entrance on a scale of one to 10 boy I the fans get really excited for it so I'm going to give it a 10 uh I know he loves it so that helps as well um I haven't I haven't got to see it from the bullpen yet but I've seen it from The Dugout and it's uh it's pretty electric and uh it it matches his electric stuff that's for sure Taylor AG oh go ahead C oh no I was just Taylor go ahead and then and then I gotta ask something for my guy but go ahead Taylor you guys seen that clip of the first time right when the lights cut out early and the bullpen catcher caught that he caught it Square so shout out to him uh really impressive work out of him but now that all the Kinks are working out like he's got it timed up when he comes out of the gate he does his little you know arms to the air thing and the the water fountain shoot off at the exact same time he puts his arms up so he's got it down it's it's a show I that was exactly we must be twins Taylor because that was exactly what I was going to ask you did my guy in the pen die because the video makes it look like he died like the lights went out and it was 102 coming right at his chest yeah luckily Camilo's pretty easy on him down there he kind of just throws his four seams at 98 instead of 102 um okay yeah but he's he's got pretty good control so I think it was just a glove finder you know he seen it about coming out of the hand and just expected it to be somewhere and it was well guys we appreciate no I got I got to ask one more thing because we talked about a I know sorry Scott Scott has a golf match to get too scar no I don't have any r no no seriously real question have you guys tried anything out of the garden yet in center field of the Giants oh no no need to yeah like you guys dur in the game walk over yeah pick like a piece of cucumber off the thing and just start chawing on it in the B can you do that there's a big Garden I know but is the garden I mean you guys would know you've been out there like like Tyler is the garden out there where you can just kind of grab something from it take a bite is it like that I don't know if the I think the bullpens overtook the garden to be honest with you I don't I don't think there's a garden down there anymore oh they got rid of the garden oh yeah behind center field now it's under the net in center field I thought where all the people stand that's where we're at now oh maybe I didn't think it took the whole so it takes that whole area up like the bullpens Oh I thought I thought there was still space there I mean you're asking a question why they're so close when they're warming up no offense but the garden doesn't have to be there if we're having space again there's no space can confirm there's no space the garden wait hold on what wait hold on it might be I mean they might know they play there yeah they play there hold on the Giants have made Oracle Park even nicer for their fans hold on oh with the garden yeah would you guys sift through the trash would you guys sift through the trash like the people do as walk out after games in that big room that's next to the parking garage would you guys sift through the trash after the game man those guys work so hard there and when you have a tough day at the yard and you walk right by them sifting through trash you're like I didn't have that bad of a day yep thank you well said yeah great um guys great to have you on thank you for doing this keep doing your thing out there and uh AJ will bring you some fruits and vegetables when he has a fox game on on a Saturday hell yeah sounds good thanks keep up guys yeah good luck boys appreciate you H Tyler and Taylor Rogers on with us on on Ft live all right let's get right back to the news we had we had so much going on last night so we're gonna do some digging and find some suspensions suspensions are out Freddy Peralta five games Pat Pat Murphy two games Abner or Ebay six games Jose Siri three games good all make sense or any gripes Pat Murphy got two games he got kicked out two games in a row so he B that's basically a four game suspension oh yeah well the Brewers are in the news lately oh man the Brewers are everywhere they they just have it going oh can't catch a break isn't that what they said yeah they do they say that every night right now um they also won the game by the way 82 Tyler black made his debut by the way Tyler Black's a pretty damn good Prospect that's a that's quite a first game like oh this is how the big leags is crap I better not celebrate my homers sorry guys you okay with the suspensions scrats everything line up the way you wanted to or no why do you I'm not sure why P why murf got two games everybody else like are they saying that he told anytime a pitcher gets thrown out the manager gets thrown out too automatic yeah it's automatic yeah but he didn't look like Gucci looked like he threw him out after he after he said after he said fudge University doesn't matter it's automatic so you think that's why you got two games well yeah or autom managers automatically managers automatically get a one game suspension when their pitcher gets kicked out a one game suspension I didn't know that I'm pretty sure I not now there'll be people on Twitter like you're wrong you don't know the rule book like people are also dumb that's suspension books I'm pretty sure that if a pitcher gets kicked out for throwing at a hitter they get kicked out and they get a One Gamer now probably could be wrong on that but I'm I'm fairly certain of that because I remember that was one of the things like when when we would get into beanball Wars the manager would be aie be pissed he's like now am I getting kicked out I'm get fined and suspended he's fine come on short arms I have a question um Champa Bay in the chat goes WTF was Siri supposed to do just get beat up I I do agree with that I mean technically Siri hit a homer did a normal thing which is called get excited about it then he gets hit and then lastly he got punched and then defended himself so you're not allowed to punch back if someone punches you no okay you can't okay if he deescalate if he didn't put that's what I was gonna ask you if he didn't swing I don't think he gets any he shouldn't get any suspension if he doesn't swing mhm but he swung and he said something too so he kind of instigated it with yure rebe not saying that yure is right in punching him but I don't think yure rebe is just like you have a punchable face I'm gonna go and punch it all right next topic right when we come back is a former MVP getting optioned um deep into the the Astros great follow Chandler Roman please check out his articles especially the latest one that he put out on Jose AB to get a lot more context both from like a statistical standpoint and from the way that he's dealt with this with the team the players the Org the whole deal Chandler great work and um you've had a lot going on in covering this team in the first month of the season so let's start with the bru why did he get optioned why was he okay with it and what do you think happens next well he got option because they as of yesterday they entered yesterday's game 10 games under 500 their worst starts since since 1969 um they couldn't afford to carry him on the active roster anymore and there's only a couple ways you can go about getting a guy with more than five years of Big League service time there there's only a certain number of ways this can go and there was a meeting on Monday during a scheduled off day uh Dana Brown was in it the general manager Joe asata the manager members of the front office members of the coaching staff were all in this meeting they didn't want to share exactly what was said but uh the the picture the Astros painted yesterday was that both sides came to an agreement that this was going to be the course of action uh I asked around a little bit and asked you know what if he would have said no and I didn't really get an answer all I got was kind of like oh I guess we'll never know but uh it's it it was something that had to happen um they the a they had reached an inflection point of um they could live with I I think they could live with the offensive struggles um but what what what what started to happen was you know he was getting prone to defensive blunders too he wasn't catching popups he was failing to scoop low throws at first base he was costing them you know extra bases extra runs things like that and for a team already with a pitching staff in tatters a pitching staff that's got a ER over five they just couldn't afford for this to continue and you know Joe as spot the manager he had done everything in his power he had moved into eighth in the batting order he had basically put him into a platoon role with John Singleton he was no longer an everyday player and it just seemed like the game kept finding him you know Joe moved him to the eight hole and the first game he played in the eight hole he took three at bats with runners in scoring position and it just seemed like every Big at bat was finding him every big defensive play was finding him and it just got to a point where it was untenable and you know they still owe him upward of $35 million in this three-year 58.5 million deal he signed and I I got the my informed speculation would be that you know owner Jim Crane's not ready to eat that money yet and they want to see if this can be salvageable and everything that was echoed yesterday was that they think this is salvageable but after watching his start uh I I struggle to I struggle to agree with that so what's the plan moving forward what's what's the plan you can't just go down to West Palm and be like you know AJ going home while he's on the Phantom I and like just relaxing if he's going to West Palm hanging out with the extended kids like what's the plan get this at bat do we need to see this you know bat speed velocity out of you do we need to see you field a 100 ground balls in a row every day what have they do they have a plan or have they let you know it it sounds like they're going to let Jose Abu be pretty autonomous in in how they engineer this plan they talked about it being a spring training sort of workouts sort of ramp up he's going to get however many bats he wants on the back fields in extended games um they're going to have the coordinators there to to work with him Dana Brown said he's gonna fly down to Florida at some point to check on him Jeff Bagwell who seems to have his hand in everything in this organization he's gonna fly down as well to see if uh he can lend some support bagwell's been working with him in pregame batting practice when he was still with the big league team he he's worked with him on a number of occasions in pregame batting practice um you know I wonder too if they chose this route sending him to West Palm Beach just to maybe get him out of the the spotlight the Limelight because if they would have optioned him to double a or single a you know there would have been a media Crush there would have been people you mean you can stream these games and watches it bats and I'm not sure that's what he needs right now and I don't know if you guys saw the quote that he gave to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN when they were in Mexico but I mean it was it was it was pretty tough to read it's pretty clear this is a guy that I mean he said it outright he's embarrassed he's embarrassed about his production he's embarrassed about the way he's played since he got to Houston and he's wearing it I mean it's been tough to watch this this happen in real time because everyone in that Clubhouse loves it everyone in that Clubhouse I mean Alex bregman said last night he's one of the best teammates he's ever had um this is not for a lack of effort this is not for a lack of you know wanting to be better this is I mean if anything the Astros thought he worked too hard he he took too many at bats took too much pregame work and that kind of tired him out so um it sounds like it's going to really be up to Jose Abu kind of how he goes about this stint in West Palm Beach it no there's no timeline of when he'll be back or anything uh but it was clear something had to happen and they couldn't afford to keep carrying him on the active roster Chandler you mentioned Jeff Bagwell he was the one that pushed hard for the Astros to sign him was he not he was like one of the main guys cuz I remember he came from the white sock and the white sock when this deal went down they were like you gave Jose AB Bru what kind of money and and you know they knew him better than anybody so what what is the organiz I mean and from what you're saying also in the second part kind of this question is with no plan that means they're like oh maybe he might not get it back I don't know it's it's weird to me that they're like well we don't exactly know what we're doing we don't know how long he's going to be down there and maybe he'll come back maybe he won't so it's it's it's a confusing situation because again why didn't they just throw him on the phant of iel say he has a hamstring injury and and send him to Palm Beach that way it was just it the whole thing is just an odd situation now I kind of thought about the Phantom iel thing too AJ but then I kind of wondered did Billy uper getting suspended for as long as he did did that spook him a little bit I mean they put a they put gray kessinger on the iil yesterday to clear a roster spot for Joey Lop Foo who came up so they could have done it uh but I'm not sure why that was the course of action you know yeah and to to answer your question about Jeff Bagwell um it's worth remembering that the Astros signed Jose Abu without an actual general manager uh they had fired James or parted ways excuse me they parted ways with James click about a month earlier and Jim Crane was overseeing the baseball operations Department uh he at the introductory press conference that introduced Jose Abu he credited Jeff Bagwell for flying down to Florida and getting the deal done um he he's been very involved and he remains involved in what they're doing from a baseball Ops perspective and things like that and you know Jeff bagwell's invested in this he I mean he did an interview with Brian MC tager of mlb.com a couple of weeks ago and just to to read about kind of he's he knows that he's pretty invested in josea Bru and trying to get him going trying to get him working trying to trying to salvage anything from this but it's pretty clear C that you know this optioning him starts the clock I mean this this is the clock is now ticking on his his Astros tenure and and I do believe he will be back I don't think they're going to send him down to West Palm Beach and just keep him down there you know for the whole season he will be back at some point I think if anything that's a courtesy to him because him accepting an option I think is a courtesy to the Astros I mean I this could have gone a lot of different ways they could have had to an ugly kind of DFA situation sort of thing but um I I think the way this went down was was pretty smooth and I think the Astros should maybe reciprocate that by giving him another chance at the big league level um seeing if clearing his head if you know getting some time off his family lives in Miami so maybe just kind of being around his family a little bit in Miami being closer to home maybe that'll help clear his head a little bit but it was clear that this had gotten to him this had gotten in his head and for so long the Astros have been able to kind of mask things like this because they've just been so good they kept winning in spite of all of this this year they haven't and they had to take drastic action so let's spin it Forward what's the best plan for the Astros to fill the spot for now I know you mentioned low peredo gets called up got a knock drove in a couple in last night's game I loved the John Singleton bash and the bat flip to go with it this team has a lot of players that actually play every day in a certain position position right brg M pñ Altuve yordon Etc so do you think they want to utilize first SL I guess some left field too while while Chaz is dealing with an injury Chaz McCormick to mix in these other players or will there be more of a set plan it sounds like it's going to be between three guys it sounds like it's gonna be John Singleton Joey L pero and Mauricio duban uh Mauricio duban has started two major league games at first base and those were both last year and before that he had not played the position since high school uh Joey lero they view him as an outfielder they view him as a more natural outfielder that can play all three that can play all three positions he played left field last night his big league debut um he has started 56 games uh in in the minor leagues at first base but you know his defense is a work in progress It's not it's not to the level yet that I feel like they can go out there and play him every day John Singleton is probably the most logical answer um but if they want a platoon sort of situation both Singleton and low perfo are left-handed they could maybe alternate them against right-handed pitching maybe start Mauricio duban against left-handed pitching see how that goes um they will make a roster move today to take uh a Bru spot on the roster I think it's going to be Trey cabbage um that hasn't been announced officially yet I I think it's going to be Trey cabbage and he provides another option another guy that's maybe a little more natural of a first baseman but he too is left-handed so now you've got a glut of Singleton low peredo and uh cabbage if it is Trey cabbage um that's three left-handed bats and um it can get a little I mean that's a lot so um they're gonna have to mix and match the one thing Joe aspat did say is that he doesn't Envision either of his catchers uh Jer Diaz or Victor kartini contributing at first base you know kartini has a has a good bit of Major League experience at first base Yer Diaz started a couple games there last year so they've got options but I think right now they're they're going to settle with the three of duban lero and Singleton you you mentioned Joe asata I mean could his first year go any worse than what's happened to the poor guy I mean it's he was there for all those years waiting waiting waiting he he's my shot and down goes Verlander down goes fber down goes christian Javier right all of a sudden bregman is not you know bregman is sick and misses a bunch of time AO all of a sudden can't hit right it's like man all these things have lined up the bull you know Bru has been not good out of the bullpen the starters can't pitch like all the things the Astros were built around have just like imploded at one time here and poor Joe as spata I mean what's he going through right now is the new manager after all this time waiting I think you saw it last night the fact that they made Jo that they asked Josh haer to pitch two innings and it's April 30th I mean they're in urgency mode already they know that they've dug themselves a huge hole they know that when they've got a five-run lead in a game like they had last night you've got to win that game when you're using all of your leverage guys you have to win that game and that's why Josh hater last night bucked convention things that he's talked to you guys on this program about and he got six outs in a regular season game for the first time since 2019 and I think that you know there is an urgency now that maybe there wasn't uh under the previous regime partly because of how they started but that was even before um they started this poorly I mean Joe aspat moved Jose AB bro in the batting order after four games he moved him down to eighth after 16 games he moved Alex bregman out of the cleanup spot after 23 games he's mixing and matching he's doing everything I think in his power um he's got the highest paid bullpen in baseball and they've blown six saves I mean he's given the ball to to relievers that any other manager would love to close a game for him and they're just not getting the job done um the starters obviously breaking down and being on the ilil I mean that that's just kind of an unfortunate thing but also you know there's other teams going through this there's other teams with pitchers on the I with with injuries and I think the one thing you have to look at with this Astros team too is Jose Altuve started every game Jordan Alvarez has started every game Kyle Tucker Jeremy Peña Jer Diaz has started most of the game like they have had their offense intact and they lead the American League in hits but they have the 18th highest OPS with runers in scoring position so part of it is they're getting Runners on base they're just they're just not coming through and I'm not sure there's much coaching or managing that can be done to to hit with Runners and scoring position now they did talk a little bit um they were expanding their Strike Zone a ton with Runners and scoring position they were trying to do too much they were pressing because they started off so poorly but I think you've seen a little more lately you know guys are hitting the ball the other way hitting the you know putting the ball in play instead of trying to you know put a ball in the Gap there they're hitting a Fly ball when a fly ball is needed they're hitting a ground ball to the right side to advance a runner so they're starting to do the little things a little bit better but yeah I mean it it has been a perfect storm of Calamity for for Joe asata in his first uh 29 games and I think he's handled it about as well as you can he hasn't really broken publicly yet um and I think three wins in a row will help him kind of maintain that positivity and you know that's one thing I think that you can always count on with Joe is he's going to always be positive he's going to always kind of be upbeat and a good personality but I think he understands the urgency with which this team's acting right now moving forward is this what we're going to see his usage from hater a 2018 2019 Josh hater where hey you know what he's down for two days but he's going to give us two I know not regularly but is this going to be something that is going to get him on track or how they're going to use him normally I mean he said Joe said last night that he's not a fan of that he doesn't like using him two innings and I mean I think Josh hater has been pretty vocal that he's not a fan of that either but he did say when he was introduced uh and when he was introduced to the Astros media you know he did say whenever and and whenever and for however long and so he he has at least embraced that and he seems to be on board with that but I think the situation last night was a little bit more conducive you know he pitched in that Sunday game in Mexico City he had not pitched in the seven days before that so he had barely pitched he threw Sunday and then they knew he was fresh they knew that if they went to him and asked him that he he probably would be open to it and he said yes and you know we didn't get to talk to him last night Josh hater I'm interested to talk to him today and kind of see how maybe his thought process has changed if at all coming coming into this new situation but uh no I don't Envision them trying to get more than three outs with him on a regular basis but I think they understood they had to win that game last night that you can't blow an eight to3 lead um when you when you've got your leverage relievers lined up when you've used them all you need to keep building on the momentum that they got in Mexico City and I think they kind of UND I get it was April 30th there are no must-win games on April 30th but that one felt kind of as close to you as close to one as you can get yeah it was a wild game it's a fun game yesterday can't win the can't win the pen in April but you can lose it that's right that's right they should be in a better spot like you're saying I mean some of the relievers the law of averages they're really good they should pitch better Bru spot should be better now in the lineup card so we'll see what happens I still think they're good so I'm not too concerned but yeah you gotta start getting on some win streaks Chandler great to have you on have fun man you got a lot of action for uh for May 1 enjoy Justin Verlander starting tonight with Angel Hernandez behind the plate I'm sure no you already gave us the uh the lead of our show for tomorrow I'm sure Angel Hernandez is the star of major league baseball right now it just it's incredible he dominates social media whenever he is behind the plate so thank you for letting me know that I will definitely be watching Can't Wait Chandler have fun all right thanks guys thank you Chandler Rome give him a follow do I have to subscribe what does that do I'm like then you know when the show's going on and it's free it isord that all because he complains about how he doesn't I always complain about money always all right so let's get to that's what he That's What He Said said yeah that's what he said that's what he said that's what he said that's what he [Music] said so for that's what he said usually it's someone saying something and then we talk about it but first I just want to show you the clip that lines up the quote Juan stto hit a monster home run yesterday he's on fire he's having a great start to the year with the Yankees he's been their best bat this one was look at him look at him admiring the baseball or admiring the man on the mound this one was 447 feet the second longest Utah Street Homer ever to gunar Henderson's 462 last year but B flips are one thing why is he staring at the pitcher I'm curious just what was the was there a problem between the two well post game here's the tweet from Brian hul who covers the Yanks our friend juano said he stared down Dean Kramer because say qu he didn't like the shuffle I bet he didn't like the Homer too I got a lot of buzz on socials Orioles fans were like scoreboard but also I didn't realize that there was beef between Dean Kramer and Juan SoDo didn't either till now apparently there's a lot of beef though I don't get it I mean listen he stared him he hit it and he didn't look at the ball he looked right at the pitcher and then when he was coming around third he looked again at the pitcher so I mean I don't know but I mean dean Kramer's gonna be like yeah way to go you hit a solo Homer you lost four to two so I mean way to go ju I don't know I mean it's crazy to me that this is what you know he didn't like the shuffle I mean remember when he first came in the league and he first did it people were like what's this guy doing so I'm sure there's been numerous people that don't like it he's not trying to show anybody up but at the same time I don't know I mean he hit a home run way to go well you don't have to look at the pitch just run around the bases I you want to flip your bat do that but this is a little different than what we talked about with Freddy and and Siri right like this is like Soto's like okay now there's a Target on Dean Kramer for me and Dean Kramer knows where the target is and I know Katz is gonna say well what's the difference you guys have to I'm the I'm the no police from Sal yeah okay guys I guess I talk I guess I talk like this so I gotta talk like this from now on no you talk like you talk what's the what's the difference my CR was what's the difference how come so can stare at Kramer but Siri can do his thing oh I don't think any anybody did anything wrong in this situation I think it's great MLB it's good players are good all right but for real well this time they play guess what there'll be warnings there'll be warnings trust me there'll be they'll before the series the umpires will come in and say so tonight there will be warnings yeah I think so 100 I liked how Dean I liked how he hit it he looked at Juan and he shook his head he was like yep yeah you got me you got it I I liked everything about it I'm not sure why Juan had to stare him down if there was something if there was something said when he did the shuffle or did he mean like he didn't like the shuffle like and he said it in an interview before I I don't know I don't know the context there like if you shuffled during that bat and Dean's like Dean said something when we had Dean on he kind of had a little just a little I don't know a little fire that I like I like to see that fire for pitchers I love it but I my only thing was because obviously we're a national show we're covering everything in the sport I don't know every intricacy of every series in every player versus player situation I just wanted more I was trying to scroll through any other New York media I'm like can you give me more on this like he didn't like the shuffle when did he yell at him did he throw at him like I I didn't know the context you know because when you're just looking at a highlight you're like what's the problem you know was there a previous at bat where Dean's yelling at him I didn't see anything so there I'm sure there was something but I I just didn't know I wanted to get the backstory a little bit more great I don't know nobody know that's kind of the thing like I don't know I mean look Kramer's like okay you see him shake his head like yeah you got me cool you know and then soda runs around the and when he touches third right here watch he looks at him again right there right here yep like dude cool it well hit it really far Ker's like okay yeah you got me all right yeah see him shake his head yeah okay by the way it's four to two you lose I I actually think this is a little bit of what Katz is talking about don't don't wake these dudes I mean they're already all amped up to try and be the top dog in the AL East and they might just say it with their performance the ball Baltimore Orioles like cool stare us down we think we're better than you the O's have the O's have a different kind of confidence they are more athletic than a lot of teams like yesterday didn't hit ball real the hit hit the ball very well they were beating out infield singles they were making the plays they needed to their pitcher went deeper into the game Kramer went deeper into the game the Nester like to me I just saw especially and maybe maybe I'm jaded because I really really like gunar Henderson leading off like he just adds this like he adds this energy to that lineup like he beat out that infield single where gaver like Dove and like rolled and turned and I was watching it and like you know he G he gave like you know he gave like a fist pump after he was safe at first base it just seems like I don't want to say they want it more it just seems like they are not intimidated by this new look Yankees and new New Look new look was sto Yankees but essentially the same team that they tried to build around judge and SoDo and the O's are looking to get in a sweep here today yep and they're definitely not afraid of them no they're not they little super you can see it you can see how they walk around like like even Kramer it makes me think of it because Kramer gives up to Homer and it's like sometimes if you're afraid or you're like you you know uncertain if you're going to beat a team you'd be like oh great here comes a comeback and and to me I think you guys would agree Kramer's like all right cool like solo Dinger that's why I'm not walking anybody next guy I love what I love the Super Chat yeah referee we love you thanks for the Super Chat maybe iron judge can try to hit tonight and Jackson said judge has 10 double plays second place is Harper yeah I know but I'm like guys this isn't Jose you like it's it's a month in and he's not he's not a detriment he's he's a 340 on base with six homers one5 Ops plus it's not him right it's not him yet but he's not far off he had a good weekend he's fine are you sure that uh referee didn't get him confused with arson judge because he arson judge sucks but a r r n judge apparently needs to start hitting a r good true ref true r r on Judge play for the Pirates now yeah yeah anyone concerned about judgy stop stop you should get hit in the thigh for saying that I'm concerned that the Yankees are off to a pretty nice start and judge is not judge yet that's the concerning part for the rest of the league true I also I also I also look that offense gonna get better true but I look at it like this what CPS it the oral aren't intimidated by the Yankees no they are like yeah so what we got gunar Henderson you guys have Soo we got gunar because I did bet ql today they asked me for my MVP right now the American League they're like Soto I'm like watch out for gunar Henderson that dude is raking plus he plays a premium position a short stop very well he steals bases Soto doesn't do that gets on base I mean right now I know Soto's probably the favorite right now but gunar Henderson is coming and he's coming quick Iden baseball reference War right now mhm two and two I know it's not the only Factor I'm just trying to would you rather have a short stop or right short stop okay boom there you have it yeah thing I'm surprised with SoDo is how many home runs he's had I didn't think you know you don't even you you expect it's so crazy to think you expect over 400 on base percentage but and stto historically has gotten hot in the second half so I don't know that's it's scary it's scary for the other teams because if judge and stto get hot it will be yeah be a lot of runs scored in New York but they have to both get hot at the same time oh we showed this on YouTube but I'll just point it out Felix gave us a little quote tweet that's what he said appreciate that we had that a lot actually so just felt like I would show one it was cool when something happens and then people start S shouting out segments I'm into it love you f fam that's all another that's what he he said subscribe another that's what he said good one last night between the Padres and the Reds and at one point you get this cool manager Choice situation so I'll let AJ Cel on his tweet helped to tell the story since I don't talk that good interesting one Jake cronenworth hit an RBI ground out but also earned a catcher interference Mike schil manager of the Padres essentially had the choice to take the out and the run or load up the bases for Manny Machado and take the run off the board but then you also take that out off the board Mike schil chose option b and Cavell said the Run expectancy Matrix supports that decision and that is regardless of the player that is at the plate after the game schil said quote my Charlotte meinburg public education end quote was a factor and also that he was going to bet on Manny Machado you are correct Mike Schultz Manny Machado cleared the bases and changed the game and Kats are shaking your head right you don't need math to tell you what to do here is that where you're going he just don't need the what was it the Run expectancy Matrix yeah you ever seen that movie choose the choose the blue pill yeah that's that's what AJ chooses the blue pill until try it crch no true it's a hard decision but the Manny Machado with The Bases Loaded in one out I feel like I'm taking that 99 times out of a 100 and I say that because I'm not sure what would make me not choose that but you don't expect to drive drive in all all three of them but like I wonder I wonder if Cronin Cronin worth was like dang it it's an RBI I needed that RBI no that'll be fine it was a right call right call right call good job ready for our next guest right call oh he's at the door star catcher Jonah Heim joining us right now on Ft live from the Texas Jonah Heim joins the show Rangers Jonah how you doing have we not had you on this show hey guys no it's first time excited that's crazy dude we're big fans love what you're doing and you got the catcher combo today so how's the season going and no no hold on before you get into it by the way I don't know if Rich rice is in the room but tell them thank you for me personally okay so when you see okay just make sure you give him a big hug for me and say thank you I'll see you guys in a couple weeks and then when you guys are in got T ofers just give them a big hug for me and just say hey AJ says thank you so that's it now have you ever have you ever been interviewed by two catcher hosts on a show I have not I'm excited to see the questions I'm about to get a little nervous but very in-depth very serious very uh totally you know yes I I I'll start with the pitching side so how fun is it to have the mix of pitchers that you have of course you're a World Series champ now you have Legends sitting on the injured list who are going to come back at some point this season do you feel you know hashtag blessed that you have such a cool group of pitchers that you're able to catch oh yeah I feel like I'm in a great spot um every every single guy we run out there gives us a chance to win each and every night so I mean that's all you can really ask for and um we we got some depth we got some guys coming back from the injured list here here soon and um I'm excited uh to get them back back out there and uh they make my job easy I just go out there um try to call a good game and and I know they're going to execute the game plan listen dude you got deg Grom sherzer Molly avaldi Dane dunning's dealing this year I mean you got you got some dudes bro how I mean you want to Gold Glove last year so I mean it's got to be kind of fun you also what drove in about 90 last year so I mean I think you had a pretty sweet year but I mean it's got to be great you're like yeah you know don't be humble H we got a chance to win tonight dude screw that you guys got a chance to win all the time because is not only do you guys have stud bull uh stud starters your Bullpen coming into form with spores coming back right the back end fitting in nicely the way Kirby H is thrown and then let's not forget you guys rake too so I mean it's it's a fun time to be a Texas Ranger oh absolutely um each and every night you you never know what's going to happen we can go out there and score 12 and pitch a shut out and um I mean just hitting in this lineups it's I just go out there do my job try to try to drive him some runs try not to do too much and pass the Baton to the next guy and and then go behind the plate and catch a whole bunch of studs that can get anybody out in the big league so um it's truly an amazing time to be to be on this ball club and be a Texas Rangers Fan and um hopefully we can we could win it all again this year Wyatt Langford sing good on on the bus that's all I care about ah it's been tough um we'll get him right though he's got one more chance um little nervous I I can I can understand I was definitely nervous my first time but um he'll be okay well wait what do you mean it's a little tough like he's not good at singing he doesn't like doing it like you gotta like we need a little more a little more Deets here he's uh he's forgetting the words a lot a little hesitant to what to what song do you forget the words you pick your own song I know it's uh it's been tough we we've been on him we've been on them um Kirby's um been showing them how it's done so hopefully that that uh loosens them up a little bit but we'll see how he does on this road trip does he have to sit in the bathroom does he have to sit and does he have to go in the crapper for the rest of the trip no we're not that we're not that mean wow you guys are nice I know yeah why are you guys so nice is it Seager that makes you guys nice Simeon is it who who makes you guys so nice I think it's everybody um I mean we know he's we don't want to beat him up too bad we know he's got to go out there and drive in some runs and hit some homers so um we we'll boo him off the stage but that's about it okay nice who who who talks less right who talks L Wyatt Langford Corey Seager or Max [Laughter] Scherzer um probably Corey Cory's a an underdog quiet quiet dude um great person but um he's also sneaky funny he'll he'll throw out a lot of good on liners every once in a while but I'm super quiet um and why it's coming out of a shell for sure if would you be able to compose yourself as much as Wyatt did when he had a a tough little strikeout a couple weeks ago because AJ's called quite a few Rangers games and he went up to him and he was like dude how do you keep yourself together on on that right and he was kind of stoic about it yeah yeah how do you do on on calls that do not go your way that you then review with a tablet and see that they should have gone your way well my job's a little tough too because if as long as I'm getting those calls too I'm I'm kind of happy so um but for guys that are in the in the field they don't really care about um our pitchers getting strikeouts but for me as long as the umpire's giving us those calls too I'm just gonna put my head down and and try to go steal some strikes but I can see how that's very frustrating Jonah you have to be honest okay everybody talks about framing all this stuff you're you're one of the top three every year in the game you do not want a pitch six inches off the plate because you know that that man is going to box something that's on the plate which is getting you minus points so where is that line for you because you do such a good job and I don't know who taught you I don't know if that was a thing when you were in Oakland and then you brought it over to Texas but you do such a good job where's that line for you like I know I can probably get two inches off but I you you know if you're getting two inches off they're going to miss that one that's a half an inch on and you're back to even yeah um for me our big thing over here is keep strike strikes and convert balls to strikes so um if I got I'd rather have an Umpire that's calling every every strike a strike and if he's not giving us those maybe a couple inches off that's fine but as long as he's calling the strikes strikes then we're in a good spot um and then I can try to do what I can to try to steal a couple here and there but as long as we're keeping strikes as strikes then we're doing a good job how about foul tips how about what are we what are we doing about catching or not catching foul tips and running after them well I don't know that's a tough question what was what was Chad's what was Chad's reaction to that Chad Fairchild the Umpire in the in the moment because we saw we we were watching the game live and you were like in disbelief like what was his reaction and what did you really want to say yeah I mean as as catchers here we know when when we see a foul tip or we hear it we we know what it looks like we know what it feels like and you kind of just do what you always do normal normal reaction is just ask for a new ball and go from there and when he kind of backed up and didn't really say much and everybody was running around I was kind of panicking a little bit and um if I can't really say what I wanted to say or I'd get in trouble so yeah just I guess in in hindsight finished the play um obviously it cost us a run there we ended up winning the game but still still still tough pill to swallow but um we learned from it and we're going from there J do you have any regrets from last year like you know having 95 RB and passing you know the there was a guy on that list of alltime Ranger RBI and it was Pudge Pudge Pudge and there was this other guy and you passed him last year so you knocked him like I think out of the top five and you know that guy's kind of upset at you for it um I wouldn't say that's a regret I'd say that's a pretty good accomplishment and U sorry if if I heard anybody okay it was me it was me so it's okay no trust me every time I see Evan Grant Evan Grant would say you know Jonah Heim is going to pass you on the single season catcher RBI list I'm like Evan I don't care dude it's good for him and then you got to like I think I had 70 or something the year I was in Texas and then you got and then you got hurt right when you were there and I was like please don't let him be out for too long because I just want Evan to stop bothering me and then you went outw up 95 Gold Glove World Series so congratulations where is your World Series ring and how often do you sprain your finger when you put it on um well I put it on the very first night we got it um and it kind of got stuck a little bit and I panicked um so I took it off immediately and it's sitting in my safe in my house um it's probably too heavy to wear out so I don't know many occasions that I will wear it um but it's it's safe and sound in a safe in my house it is the ultimate show in tell oh right right dud seriously they did a great job on those Jon a question for you because it came up in a game last night is there ever an appropriate time for a pitcher to send a message and where do you think the game is at with everyone accepting bat flips I mean we everybody does it right um you see big homers in big situations I mean it's it's hard enough to get a hit in the big league and when you get when you hit a home run in big leagues in a big situation people are excited your emotions kind of take over and um as a catcher I depending on the situation and and the moment I'm okay with a little bit like obviously nothing too excessive or um but there's there's room in the game I feel like for for excitement and um just having fun um obviously we don't want to go too overboard and and kind of make a mockery of it but um celebrating something that's cool and exciting I I feel like is is part of the game now and um like I said as long as it's not too too over the top or or really kind of showb to the other team then I feel like we're we're okay so if it is too showb according to Dr Jonah Heim is it okay if a pitcher puts one in somebody's thigh I am going to plead the fifth on this just so I don't get in trouble but as long as long as long as we're not going too high I think we're okay do you make that decision or is is that a boat decision I think it's a overall everybody decision I don't think one guy takes it upon themselves um I feel like if if something is outrageous and needs to be done about it um it'll be handled um but other than that I feel like it's a team decision uh we all got to be on board because if one guy's not on board you can tell and it just turn into a bigger mess Jonah we're talking about Boi right we go in we come in for these fox games and we get like 15 minutes of your manager and he's sitting in there he's got you know's sitting there he's got his legs crossed he's like oh I don't know guys I just don't know if we're ever gonna win another game over here like I just don't know how's the pitching Bo I don't know guys it's just been another tough week for me trying to figure out how to get these wins over here has he ever seen him get excited and has he ever been positive about anything because it's like Bo dude youve got four World Series you're going to the Hall of Fame like let's get excited a little bit here yeah it's the bo magic I think uh he's either excited mad sad or he's got one emotion and it's pretty much what you just described right there so um he's obviously he's one of the best managers in in the game of baseball and um made an instant impact when he came over here obviously you see all what we did last year and um we saw him get excited um I think he gets most excited when you're pouring champagne on him so hopefully we can give that to him again this year that's a big old head to pour a lot of champagne on what is he still in your pitcher catcher meetings pregame and pre-series or just pre-series uh just pre- series um we'll have each first game of the series he'll be in there we have a pitch we have a catcher meeting with our pitching coaches before that he's in there too and and then he's just in the pit meeting and then um lets us go about our business after that so has he dropped any funny onliners because the one that he dropped when I was when I played for him we were going through the we it was just the catcher it was me and Buster pitching coach and Bo and he wasn't really saying much and he's like you know cuz Buster's in there and I'm just kind of listening and there was like three or four guys in the lineup that we were playing against that had got tested positive for steroids at some point in their career and he goes just like he was just like AJ was saying he goes he's leaning back he goes huh he goes the whole the whole steroid team I guess huh and it made it it made a stain on my life I'll never forget Bruce saying that Bo being like yeah there a whole whole steroid team over here all right guys we go get them and he really didn't say anything else to me so has he said anything funny like that um not yet I feel like um he's still getting a feel this year for some of the guys um but I have heard a lot of good stories of him giving a lot of good onliners in the coaches meetings and uh Bobby Wilson our catching guy always comes and tells us about all the uh the funny onliners boat got for him that day I like it I like it so you have another coach on your team Mike Maddox who's kind of famous for touching the guys on the shoulder so have you ever have you ever done this because when again I had Maddox when I was there in 2013 Joe Nathan wouldn't let him touch him so Joe would put his arm on on Mike before he would get out there so Mike couldn't put his arm on his shoulder because if you know I'm sure you've seen it and then he he he covers his mouth and he always covers his little mustache and he's like blah blah hey let's try to get this guy out so have you ever thought about standing in the way so Mike can't touch the pitcher no I haven't thought about that but it does we have um brought it up of he always has to touch your shoulder and he always has to at least say something to the umire when he's walking back to the dogout um I don't know if he's just trying to get on his good graces or what it what is but um yeah maybe I'll try that out tonight and see if I can get in the way well hopefully there's no meeting on the mound you guys cruise but I love Mike Maddox meetings to you're talking about pitchers meetings before he had the like he was the most informative prepared guy he'd be like all right we got our [ __ ] pinski here this is he's the first he's got all these like little sayings he has right like he's an ambusher he does this he does that and you're just like and after about a month you like catch on to what he's talking about but he has like his own vocabulary so I mean he's awesome at his meetings oh absolutely yeah it took me about a month and a half last year to really figure out everything he was trying to say but um once you get it it it makes total sense he's one of the most prepared coaches I've ever been around and a part of and he actually sat me down one day and and kind of explained his his process and um how he goes about things and it's very in depth and he knows he knows if guys are swinging 20 on heaters down and away at what percentage and it's um we got all the information in the world handed to us and it's it makes my job real easy Jonah what's your what's your day like what's your prep like you you know obviously we don't have to go over the specific game plan for tonight but you know you wake up and then what happens leading up to game time if you're starting yeah we get here um getting the hot tub cold tub contrast try to get the body body going um then just get in the weight room it's if if I'm lifting that day get a lift in if not just doing my stretching trying to trying to keep the body going um long season so um I actually don't take batting practice on the field field um just try to keep all my energy for the game um do all our meetings getting get into the cage about hour and a half before the game do my routine and and head out for uh to get the pitcher warm it's pretty simple play you played some extra games last year used to talk about conserving energy were you tired at the end of the season um yeah tired is probably an understatement um honestly it was more me it was more mentally for me um just trying to trying to draw up game plans and get hitters out at the highest level in the biggest situations is kind of felt like I was taking the SATs every night and um yeah it was it was nice nice week off after we won just to decompress the mind the body and and start it up again I like it like that extra month though it's so worth it right at the end of the month you're you're exhausted but you look back and you look down on your ring finger and you say all right I got this one yours is bigger but that's fine uh I have to ask you this because when I was there Hector Ortiz I don't know if you got to work with him or not if he was around but he's he obviously passed away recently and he was the catching guy when I was there he throw BP come into town and do stuff with us so did he have any impact on your life I know he was one of the best human beings I was ever around just the nicest guy great catching guy did he have any impact on your life um he he was actually gone um the year be the one year before I got here but he he'd always come during spring training um stop by say hi so I got to meet him got to be around him for a couple days and um truly great human um always brought energy no matter how he was feeling so that always um brightened up our days in Spring and um we tried to do everything we could to to keep him uplifted and and to send them good graces so um obviously terrible what happened I know it impacted a lot of people around here and and their family's always in our purse okay that was nice yeah well said Jonah thank you and great to have you on here for the first time don't be a stranger it's good C by is your wait your chest protector has the gold plate right it does it does forever forever yeah d mine had iron stop what do you mean because a skillet I had it's called a skillet he couldn't catch Jonah wa somebody has there a platinum one though doesn't trino have a platinum one yeah we're working towards that one we'll get there yeah I was going to say we got to shoot we got to shoe for the moon here Jonah we're trying we're doing everything we can you could tell yeah no you could tell how good of a catcher AJ was by the way he hit yeah he does both so it's not really a fair he does both so I was talking about AJ I wasn't talking about Jonah yeah but this guy and he catches that guy does both yeah yeah exactly yeah damn what a year um yeah he's got the All-Star the Gold Glove the World Series Platinum next J great terrible year for him yeah terrible terrible maybe some silver we'll see you don't have one of those one of those we're working towards it we'll get there wait how did you not get that last year last year adley oh that's okay yeah they were like well we'll give Jonah the gold glove and the other guy will get the silver Jonah was biting his lip right there he was like adley it's all right got something to work towards we'll be fine exactly I'm gonna make a prediction you're gonna get one of those in your career at some point if you keep doing what you're doing I feel like you're gonna figure out a way to get one of those cold take cold take thank you John appreciate you man good luck tonight and we'll catch you down the road okay absolutely thank you guys have a good thank you you too Jaheim truly I mean this not just because he just came on the show one of the more underrated ball players I think dude he's really good if you look dig into his numbers he's really good at at everything he's a contributor for sure on offensive side yeah but if you look at if you start going through and I don't want to get like too nerdy for a while but the the framing numbers are off the charts I I eliminated all my framing questions because it would have gotten into you know nerdy baseball talk but essentially that's the only reason I kept playing at the end of my career so I watch I watch guys that do it really well and H he's also somebody that can win a Silver Slugger one day like he's he's real value there is real value there like not like wow you know he's really been propped up his value is propped up by his framing numbers no a switch itting catch that can catch 130 plus games and is going to be a top five framer every season it's pretty there's a lot of value there he's a he's a 15 to20 million dollar player yeah he is Shane said get nerdy okay Texas has the most stolen strikes in baseball uh from 2022 to 2023 and before that that caught a lot of those games is Jaheim Jose trino came from Texas right he's really good at it like Bobby Wilson Bobby Wilson's a special fellow I will say this he won the gold glove deserved on the hitting side of things adley had a good year on offense yeah last year I mean adley in 2023 was 277 374 on base 435 slug 20 home runs 128 Ops plus Jonah last year was 258 317 on base 438 slug 18 Homer 104 Ops plus so adly had him on that one yeah listen but but J J also missed a couple weeks he drove in 95 so true those are two damn good players winners it's funny teams that win World Series they often have standout catcher shocker uh little promo every single Tuesday we run hot sheet on the baseball America YouTube channel or if you're listening to the Pod make sure you check out their pod page as well with the show every Tuesday not only do we have hot sheet live 3:00 Eastern time which you can watch right after ft on Tuesdays but also when a player is called up like Tyler black we have Prospect profile videos that get released as soon as possible so there is one up on the Brewers New Prospect that is joining the party um and we also talked about Jordan Beck on that show who joined the Rockies last night so let's Sizzle and we'll actually start with a prospect and then get to some other news that we definitely have to uh cover before the show comes to a close in about 15 minutes Hot Corner time first off just quick shout out Paul SK six Innings you're a g thank you to the Pirates Organization for letting him go six Innings with his 75 pitches that he was allowed to toss in yesterday's game 7ks I almost wonder if he's so good that he's kind of toying with them like I can strike out to an inning but I'm just going to do one an inning so that I can show them that even if they only give me 75 pitches I'm just going to going to pitch to a little more contact admittedly there were a lot of great games last night I did not watch his start I just see some you know strikeout highlights but it is time 0390 R 23 Innings let the dude eat in the major leagues give yourself a chance why you putting up the number two two extra base hits he gave up his second extra base hit yesterday I got a text from a buddy who is really smart that said why is Paul SK and James Wood in the minor leagues right now and I said I don't know hey he pitched against Alec Manoa last nighta matched him pretty well too I think Manoa went six Innings one run two hits something crazy like that 12ks 19 39 swings Manoa looked like you know what the you know what the biggest problem is is okay so let me ask you this like I know skem is one1 but my my question is is like college hitters they did hit him I mean he gave up some homers in college last year like is the SEC better than Triple A is that what we're saying right now yes oh okay well you said it I didn't say it I was just asking stars in the SEC make more than stars in Triple A and also also uh Crow say had your hat on he he wore your hat is that why you wore that hat yesterday because you knew he was pitching for the Indians the one I wore yesterday yeah yeah okay it was my Paul SK special I'm gonna have him sign it when I see him on Friday where you seeing him on Friday that was an LSU quote when Tommy White Tommy tanks hit the ball off oh yeah old boy head at at the top of the stands he said I'm have him sign it when I see him on Friday so that was love that monoa while you mentioned it has the rehab assignment is expiring on Monday so they're going to have to make a decision and yariel Rodriguez who' been great pitched a couple nights ago went on the is with thoracic spine inflammation his spot I know does not sound I've never heard of that one obviously I've heard thoracic but for something else his his next turn to pitch was Sunday can hit can manoah hit because that's what the Jays need they don't need another pitcher no they do they need both they need Otani is that what you're saying put your and a thank you for burying the lead but but in all seriousness okay it's expiring on Monday like it is make or break time he just dealt I know he he's you know had some rougher starts before that but you got to give it a shot right like let's see what it looks like again in The Bigs why not I can't imagine they wouldn't right yeah so to perfectly agreed um okay next up on the injury front took a while to get to this it sucks Mike Trout is hurt torn LEP miniscus surgery looks like best case scenario is four to six weeks but it could be more could be I don't know two three months all about when you go in there right it's all about if they have to put a suture in there AJ did you ever get your meniscus cleaned up like in the offseason no bro the hope is four to six weeks if they just have to like clean it up if they have to go in and get a suture that's bigger time so I don't even know what I don't even know what you guys are talking about right now injuries no knee problems oh right you have bionic knees I don't get it list man I feel bad for him feel bad for M dude if you saw his press conference yesterday he was he was it was a hard time for him not to like cry I mean he was fighting it back because he knows and he was off to a great start and just oh man it just I I feel for you Mike I'm sorry and oh get let's get back quick please rough this is why I hate when people are like oh injury injury prone if you can say injuries have popped up yes there's nothing he didn't do anything wrong he didn't prepare incorrectly he didn't not lift enough to have a you know some type of meniscus surgery needed like he finished the game on Monday you saw him if you watch the video he kind of like limped around a little bit and then you know then this news comes out that he needs to have the surgery but like I don't know I I I don't know how I hate that we even have to do the injury suck segment but it's like it's such it's crazy stuff it's crazy stuff that has derailed him hopefully five weeks hopefully only five weeks he was an MVP candidate I know we mentioned gunar and Juan stto trout was high up on the list we just were with him too a couple weeks ago with toddfather and me in Cincinnati I mean dude was like just in the best mood all the Vibes the leader there everyone's looking up at him obviously all the time but it matters for how he's setting the tone with his team it's like y I've been I've been in the league a while I've been through it now I come back this season and I'm bashing homers just like I was for all these years back and screw the haters and I'm saying I want to be here and oh wait now I'm running and I'm on a pace to like hit my career high in stolen bags you know 10 years after I first set my career high I think 2012 he had like 40 something so it it just sucks dude it's fun to watch um it's who you plan around and now it'll be up to the rest of that team to try and step it up but I mean that is a just a devastating blow we you know we covered the randone injury and also I don't think we got to this the other day but the injury I guess is worse than expected at first so he's out for a long time too it's angels are in a tough spot which we've talked about a lot and then they had a tough loss last night and a great win for the Phillies castanos was searching for it a little bit hit a Dinger had a great B flip what do you call that he pointed he pointed he hit it and he points after he swung like it was awesome it was awesome and he was I mean his slugging percentage going into that at bat was like 218 wait so that's okay because he plays for the Phillies but what Jose Siri wasn't okay so does cosos deserve to get drilled today just ask I never I never said anything about the backflip you said he deserved to get hit I'm just saying that's not what I said rewind the tape listen to it you said he deserved to get hit it's not what I said Scott Kat said that they were policing the game the way that they felt they should police the game and that you can do what you feel is right and you feel like is right then you do it and we had really good back and forth earli on in the show healthy debate that AJ and me agreed for once that we're looking at each other like brothers oh look at you guys Taylor and Tyler it's so nice we become best friends well that was why because we had Taylor and Tyler Rogers earlier on the show but anyway yes casos with the danger and uh roas with the Dinger to win it for the Phils later on in that inning Kevin polar gets signed to by the way to a major league deal so I just want to give props again to Polar for joining us last Friday like an hour after he got cut by the White Sox and then get scooped up very quickly by the Angels obviously this is a great way to keep the defense flowing and the Outfield with po still can really pick it out there yes he's not Mike Trout with the bat he would tell you that but the 35y old do you think that means his contract with the white socks was guaranteed because I assumed I assumed it wasn't a guaranteed contract yeah it has to be what do you mean once he make yeah but once you make the big team he kicks into a guaranteed what he sign no no no though right remember that remember the 45 day thing remember the 40 maybe you never you never went through that when you make the big league team after a minor league minor league invite you yeah but then he was released he was released in spring training and resigned don't forget so they they they they they released him at the end of spring and then because remember they release Like Jesse Chavez mustakis po like they brought all these culture guys and they're like oh we're just kidding H we're gonna we don't need culture and then they brought back then they brought polar back okay so so that's a big so it has to be a big leag deal then because he's not signing with the angels for the league minimum but if you have if you already have a guaranteed Big League deal then you go and sign for the minimum yes gotcha some good inside baseball right there but anyway get well soon trout we miss you we want to watch you play ball and we talked about this for five seconds but I do want to give it love one more time Jack flarey not only had a career high 14 strikeouts he matched the American League record for how many strikeouts he racked up to start a game six in a row seven seven in a row got to the next inning and still got one Morey ground a short how dare he do you feel like this game was a little bit different for him compared to others hell yeah it was different 97 98 dude he made these guys look silly too and it was bright there wasn't any Shadows nothing like that the only time I've ever seen that much dominance it was like it was kind of dusk there was Shadows like these dudes were these dudes were fresh they didn't play the day before he came out he was angry for a day and a half for this start because he was slinging it and they were not seeing it do you know who has the modern record nine for what strikeouts in a row start a game there you go what year 2022 against the Braves no 2021 against the Braves I don't know who was against against the Braves when he was on the marins nine nine nine guys in a row to start a game okay in the minor leagues not not that many seven in a row in the minor leagues I thought that was all of them it was crazy yep let let's do quick hitters here okay to finish up first off yand Duran's back looks like the same dude he is ridiculous it was fun to watch him in the ninth oh my twins of one nine in a row twins are still good at ball I will maintain my selection to win the American League Central I feel better big piece of sausage that the twins they're swinging the sausage right now uh the New York Mets set a city field record with 44,6 hot dog sold on dollar dog night I mean that's literally like a free hot dog in New York City a dollar you ever seen the dollar hot dogs when they sell them I've never seen anything sold for a dollar in New York City lately a nobody want to eat that you you you unroll that thing and it is Philly stopped their dollar Dog Nights now they do buy one get one free them glizzies that's a lot uh the attendance was 22880 so that's an average of just about two hot dogs per human at the Ballpark I would have done that I probably would have had three or four yeah but you know that there's plenty of people that didn't have any and then there's tons that had you know five or six oh yeah give me a good hot dog good Chicago dog oh baby it's on you would have had three or four yeah I would have made you pay for them too that's the meal I'm paying for if there's a meal that we're eating he is you watch Seinfeld you know who you are CR you're the guy the guy who gives Jerry the free suit and then he wants a meal and he's like oh we had soup that counts to the meal and then cr's like nope I need a full meal soup is not AAL that's that's crap right there uh one more shout out because this this dominated on the west coast with the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks getting delayed The Beekeeper came to the rescue it's like some type of Mating Season thing and then they all like survival of of the bees like grab some area the queen goes and lands on the microphone and then they all just follow her and they're start they're building their little beehive damn followers until this guy freaking vacuums him up and then gets a Heroes welcome throws out a first pitch this is a this is beekeeper in Arizona this this is AJ in Chicago look at this goes all the way to the top ready to go like yep I'm BetMGM slinging this thing not a strike freaking vacuum on are are the Bees Still in there while he's throwing it no that's his bee hat oh it's the bee hat I thought it was vacuum stupid oh and there's the God lord who is that catching that ball some tall fell yeah very tall Jordan Montgomery missed his start because of the bees two-hour delay I know he was warm hot ready to go and I was watching that game too and they're like yeah it's going to be a slight delay Adrian Johnson the crew chief does not know what to do right now did the right thing you can't play a game like that cleared out the whole section by own play it was pretty awesome it was and then the game was great Christian Walker had two homers they got a walk-off dub over their big rival 4-3 win so that first ever did you see that Christian Walker all the home runs he's hit first ever walk-off Homer that's surprising he hits a lot of homers I couldn't I couldn't believe that when I when I saw that that is surprising all right picks let's finish strong yesterday a dub it was five nothing or sorry it was one nothing the fifth for my my Reds Padre's game but they they picked up the pace thank you Mike Schult for believing in Manny Machado good job Katz on Matt Manning out strike outing Stephen matz that was unique but mat is too by the way is mat like I now 's going for look at his if you read Kate uh Katy wo Katy woo wo woo uh he has back problems that's why he didn't pitch very long Trevor May lost he had the angels and AJ got hooked did I ever and I stayed up to watch that game too but then I didn't realize the Oakland Bullpen hasn't given up a run in like a month so dude Oakland's Bullpen is fire we should talk to their closer this week I think maybe Friday we're gonna talk to he's too tall for our show he's he throws too hard for you but he's supposedly coming on on Friday no that's what I could hit if he throws that slider I got no shot uh Jonathan Papa Bond back in the mix today would you like to make your selection pap what's up all my beautiful people of foul territory Nation paps pit coming at you hot I know we lost yesterday but I'm sitting here in south Mississippi it's a beautiful day I'm at the crib Sun's come up and today I'm ready to win some cheese baby so um I'm definitely not going to take the AJ route you know AJ when you look around the room and you can't find the sucker you know who the sucker is my friend so let's get away from them white socks man let's let's start let's let's let's start A New Path and we're never going to bet the white socks again okay my friend uh secondly I'm taking the Phillies in the money line and the Cubs in the money line I'mma put them together in the two game parlay that's going to put me at 159 so uh I like both those games today I really do um so I'm I'm going to put a little extra I'm going to go 200 and uh we at plus 159 so we're gonna make that money I was hoping for his dude the math but he can't do that math he couldn't do that math he couldn't come up 38 for 200 right you got a double 159 he like we're going to make a that so listen P just I'm going to go first because I'm just going first now after he called me out but listen P I might be the sucker but if I'm the sucker then your bet is rued because I'm taking the Phillies run line tonight at mine is 115 so you know why because I went on BET ql today sponsored by B MGM and I made them pick my lock today I said listen I've had an awful day yesterday picked my lock and they said Phillies run line minus one and a half runs at minus 115 is a good number so that's what we're going with there you go but you guys can both win because he can get the I was G say he's not you're not he call me a sucker so if I went with him and they lose then he's the sucker look around the room yeah I'm with you I'm telling that and by the way Tommy fam MVP I'm just saying there you go at some point AJ's gonna get hot and it might start tonight because he's getting advice from phona friend.com yeah coming off a dramatic win for the Phils the offense looks good Zack Wheeler's pitching tonight he's got a sub two ER and he's got a little scoreless inning streak going on sandal has been off to a kind of a slow start and he struggled lately so no Mike Trout in the lineup for the Angels the aftermath of what that looks like yeah I I got that run line action with AJ Katz where are you at I'm going a little plus 190 I got the over and I bought it early now the line's gone up but over for Luis heel he's got five and a half punchies he's averaging six and a half punchies on the year he's only not gotten over six one time so I'm going over on the five and a half for Louie and I'm going under on our guy burns on six and a half he has not reached six he has not reached seven strikeouts once this year yet I'm fading that he's gonna get it okay interesting Burns's gonna this is why they got Corbin Burns will win games like this big game Burns he's punching out punching nine tickets tonight by the way you know so what Pap said about the white socks they bet Q people actually tried to talk me into taking the White Socks today and I actually talked them out of it so and now they're winning three to one in the third inning it's early but they I was like oh who's pitching they're like flexing vers obber and ober's been pitching really well so I was like ah I don't know about that one but of course one day where I was like I should bet the because they were like plus 200 straight up and I didn't go for it now I'm kind of kicking now they're winning yeah of course I said if you bet the White Sox money line every game You' probably be ahead no no that's what they said no I I was just taking a guess at it but I could be wrong no because that they you know you adjust as you see what the team looks like right so early on in the season it was it was great value to just punish them because they kept losing right so also for the record I'm still I'm Li betting and taking Minnesota in this game it's the third inning this is the Maybe best Bullpen against the worst Bullpen I'm still feeling good about a two-run deficit for the Minnesota Twins who have won nine games in a row so it's even live betting money right now it's even live bet so it's not even giving you any value nope all right so if you're new to the bmgm
