Tomorrow kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month and there's plenty of DFW events to mark the beginning of the month long celebration, including one that kicks off today at the Dallas Arboretum. Joining us this morning is Dustin Miller, Vice President of programs and learning at the Arboretum. Good morning to you, Dustin. Good morning. Glad to have you this morning. I can already see people walking and doing things behind you. Tell us uh why the Arboretum celebrates Hispanic heritage and culture. Yeah, we've got a great crowd already loading in. Um This is our seventh annual celebration. Um You know, we are the, the, the central spot for those quinceanera photos for years and years. So seven years ago, we decided to create this celebration uh to really celebrate culture. Um And it's grown into a massive event this year. We have 42 quinceaneras, um Four dozen vendors, live music, chef, demos, uh A little bit of everything for the whole family. Our children's Adventure Garden is free today as well uh with activities throughout the day. So really just celebrating what makes Dallas so special. Yeah, I see the Mariachi band a video right there playing um as we talk now, there's a fashion show to kick this all off. There is, it is actually started in about 15 minutes. And then we do a parade through the garden with all the girls. You can see them here on screen. But it's really the marquee piece of this event. And we really love to celebrate the beautiful fashion, but also the family traditions and folks building those family traditions here at the garden. You know, I always tell people if you've truly never seen how beautiful those girls look in their kin gowns, you have to go to maybe the arboretum, right to get a glimpse of them, taking those pictures. But the fact that you guys are creating this amazing fashion show is so cool. Now, you've also saw some Hispanic vendors to fill out these festivities. What can we expect from them? Yeah, we have tons of food and beverage, of course, but also artisan products uh for the for the whole family clothing, jewelry, uh bathroom products, a little bit of everything. We even have handmade things from, from the Andes. But anything you're looking for, you can find it here. Just a highly curated collection of really interesting items for the whole family. It looks like so much going on. I'm already on the website to see how I can get tickets. How can people learn more and attend what you have going on today and tomorrow? Yeah, just go to the website Dallas arrium.org. Um You can pick up tickets online or you can come here to the garden and I've got Dallas Colleges Mariachi Group coming through right now. So I'm super excited to see them pick up celebration. Oh, my gosh, looks like a great time, Dustin. Thank you so much for joining us and to see you out and about at the arboretum already. Yeah, it's great being here. Thank you. All right. Thank you.
