welcome back to another edition of fresh 24 college football mode where we learn and we earn today we'll be breaking down the Clemson Tigers entering 2024 the tigers are led by veteran coach Dao Sweeney who's had to deal with a lot of noise this off season due to the fact that they one of four college football teams that did not get a transfer they did not enter the portal joined by Air Force Navy and army will this catch up with the Clemson Tigers we shall see now when we take a look on the offensive side of the ball it will be the second year for Garrett Riley the highly talked about offensive coordinator and of course the second year for the highly recruited Kade kubanek 2 200 yards last year 64 completion rating on 19 touchdowns to nine interceptions not horrible but definitely not great uh you could say that it was due to the injuries around him um he's got all the tools in the book we'll see if he can put it together in year two now when we look at the running back position they do they are led by stud running back Phil mafa this guy's an absolute killer he can carry the rock 25 plus times a game but when we look after him there's big questions obviously it's Clemson and they recruit like no other but I I do have question marks after Phil we'll see who who's going to step up to the pl but it does look a little light in the running back room after mafa now when we take a look at the wide receiver position talk about deep I mean they're 8 to 10 Deep at the wide receiver position however there's an awful lot of questions now Antonio Williams should be a should be an absolute stud had a great freshman year obviously injuries last year they expect him to be a big- time player for him this year they did have two stud freshman recruits come in t led by TJ Moore five star top 25 recruit in the nation expect TJ Moore to get some run in this freshman year now when we take a look at that offensive line also I do not how can I forget tight end Jake brinning St the guy's an absolute stud future NFL star and K future NFL player for sure Kade Kuban uh will definitely like having that young man back now when we look at the offensive line there's question marks simply at Center this is a experienced played together offensive line but question marks at Center didn't play great last year you know obviously had their issues but this is a very talented offensive line and most importantly experienced but there is questions at Center a very important position in my opinion on the offensive line now let's take a look at the defensive side of the ball now surprise surprise Clemson's defense is absolutely loaded once again they did lose six starters to the NFL from last year's team but they are led by Barrett Carter an absolute stud a future Pro a top five linebacker in my opinion in the nation no doubt uh they did also get an absolute stud in recruit big big time recruit Sammy Brown number 14th ranked college football player in the nation expect for him to get some run as a true freshman at linebacker once again Sammy Brown now when it comes to this D Line This D line it's it's elite ladies and gentlemen once again I mean realistically it's NFL player after NFL player um I expect big things like each and every year we see from this Clemson's front seven especially that D line the secondary however it's got question marks for me um a lot like the team we broke down yesterday in the Miami in the Miami Hurricanes I believe Clemson's weakest link is the secondary um you know we have questions about that offense as well but I do not believe the secondary will compete with that front seven it is the weak link for me um they have a lot of talent but young but young and question marks all over that secondary in my opinion Clemson though you know it'll just be like last year and every year before this this defense will be legit respect respectable I just simply believe that the secondary um is a little light now when we take a look at the schedule ladies and gentlemen I do not see Clemson going to the playoffs and let's talk about some big games they have now taking a look at the schedule the Clemson Tigers have a pretty tough schedule in my opinion now they start week off week one off against Georgia in Atlanta I mean props too for taking this game but it's about to be an L um you know couple tough games in between especially against NC State but the next time I see Clemson slipping up is against Florida State in Tallahassee we already talked about it ladies and gentlemen I do not think they go to Tallahassee and beat the Florida state seminal and then obviously they have a couple other tough games V at Virginia Tech at pit I see them slipping up one of them two and I preferably against Virginia Tech so I have the Clemson Tigers finishing 9 and three which is not good enough for an ACC Championship and sure as hell is not good enough for a playoff birth let me know in the comments
