hello everybody happy labor day hopefully you are celebrating the American worker my wife and son are both taking a brief nap so I thought I would take this opportunity to chat with you for a few minutes as I enjoy a nice cold Zia they're not an Advertiser they certainly should be if you're not familiar with Zia they my brother-in-law Josh turned me on to them maybe about four or five years ago lifechanging lifechanging it's you know it's either a mineral water or or you know sparkling water or a zero calorie soda but there's no sugar no artificial sweeteners no dye this is root beer this is my favorite flavor the ginger root beer so if you pour this out it's clear the same thing with the cola if you pour it out it's clear it tastes like Cola but it's clear but um because there's no dye or anything like that you know supposedly it's a little healthier now I mean they say whenever you're drinking something or eating something that's sweet but that has no calories it's not the best thing for you because it kind of fools your brain into expecting that it's going to get calories and then it doesn't get them so that's that all right hey speaking of calories we are 1 hour away from the granddaddy of all well I don't know if that's an appropriate description from the ultimate beef the big Labor Day hot dog eating contest this afternoon between takaro Kobe yashi and uh the and the former and champion of the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest Joey Chestnut this is going to be the first time these two men have faced off one another in at least 10 years I think it's actually about 15 years so it's very exciting uh if I were betting my money would be on takaro Kobayashi I'm trying to stay in my office because I'm trying not to wake everybody up since everybody is sleeping but I'm still trying to get some work done and be productive and like it or not this counts for me as being productive because I've been trying to get in the habit of doing these videos more thank you to Denise alberga and Dorothy padini for watching and thank you to everybody else that's watching if you're watching please be so good as to comment let me know you're there and you can give us a a share and a like as well that would all be a big help on um Instagram we'll say hello to Nanny row CK girl 9742 I'm not sure if that's um my old friend Celeste Catz uh IL coral one of the best Italian restaurants in not only all of Little Italy but all of America an incredible place they're watching so hopefully everybody is having a a fun Labor Day relaxing Labor Day and doing something interesting today we were on the air this morning I don't know if you had a chance to hear any of the show but uh I thought it was a really interesting program I interviewed the former Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and I thought his insights onto into the economy and the labor movement were particularly interesting uh additionally um I mentioned this this morning but people are still emailing me so I will I will mention it again here I made a typo in an email that I sent out last night I have this email list that I send emails out to if you want to be on the email list just shoot me an email and say add me to your email list my email address is frank. Morano uh redapple aworks.com that goes for everybody if you're a good player and want to play Feel Free we could use you for September 14th an early day starts at 1 am Keith says he's in Great Scott silver just got a New York Times email titled at home with Tony Danza see inside his Manhattan Department yeah I mean Tony's getting ready to he's promoting this new series of live shows at the cafe Carlile starting in eight days so he's looking to do a lot of media now so that um you know he's trying to get wherever he can obviously the times is is tremendous but he's doing everything now Jimmy says uh listen to you want my overnight shift on Amazon you are Health a healthy addiction thank you Jimmy that's awfully nice of you I appreciate that very much I hope uh they're treating you okay over there at at Amazon appreciate that Lorraine writes people love to be the grammar police it's more about them than the person they are correcting yeah you might be right you might be right all right um I'd love to know um who you're backing in today's hot dog eating contest or or if you're even going to watch you may not also uh I'm doing this live event with Elliot Gordon coming up on November 14th today is the last day as I understand it to get early bird tickets for that it's $40 uh Elliot's going to be doing his uh tribute to the comedians of the cat skills I'm going to be doing a live edition of ask Frank anything we may have a we may have a an interview that I conduct live and hopefully it'll be a good chance to many of you honestly I'll be very honest I'm hoping a lot of people come because it would be kind of embarrassing if not a lot of people come but if um I have no idea if it's going to be worth participating in or not or seeing I have no doubt that Elliott's portion will be because he does this all the time but uh I I rarely do these Live Events these days so from my perspective it's sort of a crap shoot but I hope people come and I hope you spread the word if you are coming I know Ellen uh says she's coming how many people bought tickets I don't know Ellen you know Elliot's handling all that and I'll be honest I'm afraid to ask because I don't want to ask and then have him say oh well seven so it'll be kind of embarrassing so I have an asked uh Dorothy says Japan has my vote well you know Dorothy takaro Kobayashi is certainly from Japan originally but um I uh he really views himself as an American these days and if you watch the ESPN 30 for30 documentary on their rivalry between Chesnut and kabashi one of the things that really hurt him is how much Americans turned on him when he was uh when he lost the championship to Joey Chestnut and he tells these stories about people you know Americans just booing him random he'd just be out on the street and Americans would be booing him and they'd be like starting USA USA and I really felt bad for him it caused me to think about that in a new light because he said look I thought American being American was all about coming here living here wanting to make this a better country and participating and just because I wasn't born here everyone all of a sudden became against me so I really I really I really appreciated that John Paul says what's on the show tonight John Paul I just got over yesterday show I just woke up so I have no idea and no um what's on tonight's show uh Prof Dr Gilbert Doo will join me live from Europe we'll talk a little bit about what's happening with respect to foreign policy there we got the mail so if you want to email me any questions of frank. course married to my brother Dr Nicholas Morano no John Paul I'm keing so I do have a rough idea I just don't have a lot of the stuff finalized yet so um and of course Dominick Carter will be with us as we as will the one and only gnome Laden who is be who is going to be returning H Ellen says I was just crying through the funeral for HS Goldberg Polland so upsetting I I can't imagine I haven't turned on the television set yet or um the radio but I mean absolutely I uh I mean there are no words words fail you when it comes to something like that it's just uh it's just terrible all right well after today it looks like uh it looks like um the summer is over John ask when will you interview Claudia Morano your sister you know that is a good question I'm gonna send her a screenshot of this and and see if she will be swayed you know what it is with a lot of these people they don't like the hours I mean these people work regular jobs during the day and they don't like the hours they have a tough time being awake at 1: am to 5: am today might be an exception because it's um you know it's a holiday but I've invited CLA on many times she's got a lot of interesting philosophies on uh many things oh Hannah says she can promote her show for free on stage buudy which I go I will tell her Hannah I will absolutely tell her you know Claudia was my date last year to the WABC Gayla but uh which is going to be this Friday and uh this year I thought maybe Rachel and I would go together but um apparently it's just too much to get a babysitter and she she's got a lot of other things to go and and quite frankly I don't I just I'm not sure she wants to come so I am uh Claud is tied up this Friday so I'm not sure who my plus one is going to be I may have my plus one be Jason Goldman I was out with u Jason on Thursday I'll show you him there he is he's next to me there's two people next to me one is Mike S blus the gentleman the tie the other is Jason Goldman one of my oldest friends he really would I think like to go and get a kick out of going but um I'm wondering if I should try and bring someone female just for appearances so we'll see I'm going to have to let them know soon or I mean there's a lot of people that want to go to this thing maybe I should just say oh I'm not bringing a plus one I'll just go solo but it is nice to have a plus one to kind of Snicker at to kind of kind of be in the in the joke with it uh Ellen says is your sister-in-law play Lifeline is she listed in the credits she should be I certainly hope so um I I don't know uh I haven't seen the credits but I'm assuming so yeah she's at rehearsal you know four or five days a week so I'm assuming she is in the credits but uh I don't know I will find out um Stacy you have the best listeners late at night yes that's absolutely true Michael where's the little guy he's sleeping he's taking a nap and then maybe when uh when he wakes up we'll go out and have an adventure of some sort he's now in the habit of just coming out of his bed by himself which is somewhat disconcerting so we'll we'll see about that Lorraine writes I'm listening to this morning show now that's the way it goes until I retire which is soon I hope well um congratulations on your forthcoming retirement if it's imminent and if not you know look it's Labor Day right we all do what we can you know we all do we have to do is support ourselves and our families the the lovely Stacy Marie us vampires of the night love listening to you in the we hours in the morning thank you I can't share the Instagram comments on here um Marcy I think you need to take over from Dominic in left versus right marshy honestly I'm not sure that I'm uh I'm not I'm that rightwing I mean honestly until Donald Trump i' had never voted for a Republican presidential candidate I'm not sure I'm a good fit for that I agree with many of the things that the left does Kathleen says last night for many of us who teach or have kids grocery store was insane good luck to Carmine with a new class yeah he's starting on Thursday Thursday is the first day of school so that's uh that's that's going to be interesting all right it sounds like my wife is up so that means are we can probably we can probably I could probably do the rest of the garbage Pals uh that's why I love you for your balance thanks Keith appreciate it um John Paul Frank how many cats are still living with you with you three three we have prissy who's the last of the original cats from when we moved into this household excuse me um then we have two cats that were originally named Jenga and yatsi but my wife has named Winston and Ernie but I call um sacko and vanetti so they have three names Nancy love that you are more moderate and not so right well thanks Nancy I appreciate that um I mean I I don't know that I'm moderate I'm just kind of all over the place there are a lot of issues where I'm very right-wing a lot of issues where I'm very left-wing what I don't do is view the world through an ideological prism I don't say all right well go down the issue list um where do the Democrats F feel on this so I'm gon to feel this way no I I kind of look at each issue okay maybe it's okay to have fair trade instead of free trade maybe it's okay to um you know not force people to quit their job or get fired if they don't want to get a uh vaccine so you know I'm sort of all all over all over the place uh John Paul I haven't heard you say about the three cats on the show lately you gotta listen more I've talk I talk about these cats I absolutely I absolutely do but um I try not to make the show too personal in terms of everything I'm doing I'm not sure that JN likes that I was on with John and Curtis this morning at 7even o'clock and the first thing John said was don't talk about Staten Isa now I don't think I talk about Staten Isa at least not on the radio but um I I think maybe when John thinks that I'm talking about too many details for my personal life that uh that it's it's that I'm talking about St n maybe he's right maybe uh maybe there should be loftier issues that people are concerned about I'm sure a lot of you would agree with that okay um sounds like my wife is up so I'm gonna take out the garbage well and try and get a a little bit of a heads up on the the show for tonight and figure out the the rest of my day my day um Stacy yeah can you mention on your show place to eat locally when visiting yeah in terms of New York Stacy email me I you've got my contact information email me I'll give you a ton of places it all depends on what kind of food what what kind of food you like you know if you I mean New York has the best food in the world New York has better food than the whatever the original country of origin is I mean I would bet that you get better Chinese food in New York than you do in China I think there's a strong possibility you get better Italian food in New York than you do in Italy so there's that
