College Football Week 1: LSU vs. USC, Penn State vs. WVU and Georgia vs. Clemson

a [Music] a [Music] [Music] and away we go hello and welcome to another edition of big freaking Friday show with Nathan bommer Brown back in the saddle along with me tonight is uh to start off with is Moen and then UD will be joining us a little bit later we had a guest lined up but he had some difficulties he's traveling and we didn't want to try to to catch him while he's in his car so I think we're going to let that side tonight but we appreciate everybody being here um it's obviously this is a trial for me uh the surgery I had on my tongue is challenging so I'm still working through that so if I accidentally bite my tongue and Shout expletives or run to the bathroom you'll know why but I appreciate everybody being here tonight how you doing tonight menen doing good doing good glad to hear that uh you're up and about brigh eyed and bushy tailed and ready to kick off the big freaking Friday show yeah I I don't know I know I know it's not the optimal thing for you but week one's here so yes absolutely at least you can kick back chill out and watch a lot of bad football and some good football well we're looking forward to that that is the weekend right yes sir um I had a I had a a video here from last night specific speically watching the Colorado game and uh for one thing North Dakota State nobody should schedule them ever if you're playing big-time college football I would never schedule north North Dakota State uh they still run several types of option and they're tough as nails if they were in the whack or the Mountain West they would challenge every year I don't know why they don't make that jump obviously winning National Championship after national championship ship is something but uh yeah what' you think about that game last night uh well I will get to the picks a little later but I had picked Colorado against the spread and Colorado won but did not cover yeah I feel screwed by that by the way I thought we were playing straight up picks I did not know no we did goes back to last season we did against teasing I'm teasing I had forgotten it's not your fault yeah so hey but I will say bomber and I are one and one there's some people in the tick picks that are 0 and2 yeah so then let's jump to Minnesota right the the play and look Brock hu I love him right University of husky play it was a Seahawk um legend in the state of in the state of Washington Brock hu's a stud on the mic um Tim Brando gave him a huge shout out after the game last night but he said specifically two plays before they kick their field goal they need to keep it in the middle of the field right they need to run it to the middle of the field because the last time he missed it was wide right and if he would have been in the middle of the field it would have been good and sure enough what's the dive play they run yeah that's that's called the broadcaster Jinx I don't think so I it is I'm tell every time a broadcaster brings up somebody missing a field goal it seems to happen but it wasn't it wasn't that kind of a Miss though it wasn't it wasn't like uh no I'm sure I'm sure the kicker probably told them where he was most comfortable kicking and that's why they ran it there but I will be honest bomber and I both had North Carolina at one and a half yes so North Carolina was winning and covering yes and by missing that kick we ended up winning our bet on North Carolina because a lot of Minnesota and I'm counting on that to be the tiebreaker at the end of the season we'll know what happened there I think that's way funny um other than that boy we are uh really hitting it hard the picks are going to be we'll go through them when you gets here uh Utah looked dominant but the team they were playing unfortunately they've changed coaches like three times in three years they're really down uh Southern Utah had used to be Dixie State had a has a rich football history lot of lot of professional players come through there uh to Utah or through Utah or BYU but um they were nowhere last night in the first half the defensive backs looked like I don't know what kind of defense that was but what did you think about that game that game was a blowout I you know um I'm I'm more interested in did you catch any of the Western Carolina versus North Carolina State game I did not you want to tell me how that went so that went nor West Western Carolina was leading at one point 21 to4 okay uh North Carol Ina state did come back and Win It 3 it was either 31 to 21 or 38 to 21 they had some garbage time touchdown there but they struggled against Western Carolina and that was a team that people were saying had a chance at the ACC Championship I'm not so sure now if you struggle with an FCS team and Western Carolina is not like an FCS Powerhouse like North Dakota State or South Dakota State or the Montana schools it's kind of middle of the package FCS so uh North Carolina State I I don't know what happened last night especially in that first half but you better get stuff figured out if you're going to go into that ACC schedule uh you know especially with Florida State that's pissed off right Miami that's top tier right in terms of ranking or recruiting anyway and then you got Georgia Tech who just coming off that huge win so I'm really uh kind of interested to see how North Carolina State bounces back what you think about North Carolina uh they lost their quarterback who played okay but he wasn't great he blows his leg out really nasty lower leg injury shouldn't watch that on replay I don't recommend it um and uh he had surgery today by the way successful but he's done for the season but what' you think about his backup I thought he played pretty well for what he could do he didn't you know he they they did change the game plan to work with him sure I think that helped them a lot better the first drive they just didn't and it just didn't go anywhere but thankfully they were already uh the running back had already got them in field goal range but when they let him run the option that one play and throw the pass on the sideline that was great that was great and I think that's what they're gonna have to do a lot of moving forward they're gonna he's a true freshman so let's be you know very clear he was playing High School football last year so to come in you know under the bright lights down at the time I I thought he played pretty well considering all things considered I but again I think they're going to have to change that entire offense I think they had based it all on Max Johnson's strengths yes they did now they've got to retailer all to that kid's strengths and it's going to be tough in the ACC because they're going to load the box they're going to know you're going to try and run now well that football that their running back is a stud though I can't remember his name but he is really good he's going to be over a thousand yards this year guaranteed and uh he's going to help him win some football games so we'll have to see North Carolina did not look great but traveling to Minnesota first game of the season obviously Minnesota wanted to win that game had it in their hand and sort of let it slip out so we'll have to see how they tailor out through the rest of the through the rest of the season yeah the problem with Minnesota is they didn't have their leading rusher darus Taylor that obviously had an impact on him uh Max Bros Meir I thought he played good he played good the fourth quarter so if he could just play like he played in the fourth quarter he might be okay now they had some lucky bounces did you see the one where he threw the pass guy fumbled and it bounced right into the other guy I did see that at the end of the game yeah I was watching that four fourth quarter yeah yeah so said that a little bit lucky on their part but uh yeah very interesting to see if he can play like that for four quarters and not just in two-minute drill Agreed 100% uh before we do any more talking football and obviously that's going to be the focus for our show tonight I hope everybody's buckled up for our picks we're going to go through what the team all picked out and it it it it's still a pretty serious surgery so um unfortunately I'm gonna have to do it again uh we're going to have to do a little more in depth and it actually might put me out for a while so so your the points and everything else they better win because I'm counting on them I'm a huge Florida State fan so um you want to add anything to that at the moment I I think they'll bounce back but 15 and a half points was a lot it is but I think they got some Revenge Factor this G that's what I was think I I think that they're gonna go balls out this week so yeah they could they could uh they could hang two or three touchdowns more than what's required uh to win that game I just think that last week they did not for whatever reason they didn't use their quarterback the way they should have I don't it's going to be the feature game I think for the weekend obviously Georgia Clemson is the highest rated uh game of the weekend but that that Penn State um Virginia sorry um West Virginia game is going to be better I think see here's where I'm going to disagree with you I think West Virginia pen State pulls more viewers they they may I think that Georgia Clemson game could get out of hand real early yeah and people are going to switch over to see a more competitive game and they will watch pen State West Virginia that is very possible Georgia uh is on the hunt they wanted three in a row they got screwed last year I think they're out to win it all this year um nitw nitw says thumbs up I think that was a reply to TF Williams that's going to be a great game yep you're exactly right keep chopping good to have you here uh Big 10 not viewable on the west coast Xfinity Comcast saying I don't think so we're not going to pay your Carriage rates Bob Thompson thinks that they're probably GNA get something done under the wire what do you think about that whole Fiasco you know they criticized the Pack 12 Conference you know for their TV channel and here the entire West Coast doesn't get coverage well not the entire West Coast just Xmen Comcast customer there's a lot there there there are in Southern California in millions of people I guess the sticking point is the Bay Area is it because they don't have any Bay Area Schools but is demand in the Bay Area for the Big 10 Network obviously that might change some that might change some Minds in Chicago at the big I think they're going to end up Comcast and then we'll come to a deal before this is all said done I agree with you Bob Thompson kind of tipped his hat that that's probably going to happen but there's tough negotiations going on and big 10's Playing for Keeps they put out a a press release and everything saying sorry we're trying but they're being sticklers so let's see It'll be very interesting yeah with the new era of streaming fubo YouTube TV sling TV I'll carry the Big 10 Network yeah so Comcast you know if people really want to watch Big 10 Network they're going to find a way and they're GNA cut that cord so Comcast is playing a high stakes game right now because there are so many cut the cord companies um they need their cable to stay up they're losing millions of subscribers every year um I'm a Comcast customer but I get them with my internet right so it's all in one package and I don't have to worry about anything and it's all done so anyway that's enough on that I wasn't even what he's doing running the ball and you and I both know he's got tricked knees and uh that's just dumb you know Kyle came out and said he's not gonna run and then he goes out and runs it's like he can't unprogram the the dog so tell us how it was last night he is who he is uh the game was amazing to watch and everything I mean Utah last year scored 15 passing touchdowns all season 15 all season last night uh Utah threw six passing touchdowns so we're in a different season here we don't have Bryson Barnes Bryson Barnes would be the fifth or sixth during quarterback on this team now right it's a different world different quality and uh I'm not going to go like to the Horn of Utah too much but this is the best team I've ever seen in 20 years for the Youth I'm serious about that and uh we'll see what happens so I'm super super stoked it's interesting you put that poll out on Twitter and last I checked it still said it wasn't the best team you and I agree I think on on the field this is absolutely the best team top to bottom you guys have ever had why the why the disconnect with some of your fans it's just because all the phraseology all right there is because the the Twitter poll was that the best the best team that Utah the state of Utah has ever produced so there lot of cougar fans are like no yeah that's not that's not true so that that's the push back right there but you know what I I think this is one of the best teams for sure that the state's ever produced I would say that yeah yeah so we'll see what happens if if the results aren't there it's it's a moot point but uh it's exciting and and last year was such a just abysmal season with all the injuries and stuff you couldn't pass the football worth a bean like the quarterbacks were worse than High School quarterbacks and like it's just a different day so it's it's fun times good times if there's one takeaway to give to the world about what Utah is setting up to be this year you would and I both know how how good they are what's the line to the rest of the world because there's still a lot of doubters out there I think just uh we'll play on the field and like Utah is always a program that's always gonna have to prove it they get a little bit of the benefit of the doubt now but like they're never like Ohio State where they're automatically going to be put into a top five like ranking and stuff right right based on recruiting classes so you're gonna have to prove on the field and if it's a you know a 9 and3 or eight and4 season that's going to be a massive disappointment 10 wins is the absolute bare minimum anything else is a complete failure straight up if it's not a 10- win season or better it's going to be complete failure with the squad so we'll see what happens yeah I I completely agree with you your schedule is laid out so so well I mean the the UCF game is probably the biggest that in Oklahoma State or your two Road game ifs but that's 10 and two right there so you know the rest of the games the BYU game's always a pick them you never know what you're going to get in that game but everybody else just look out Utah's really really good and um they're coming they are yeah like I mean Iowa State's a really good team no one's talking about in the Big 12 right like Iowa State's right there TCU we'll see how good TCU is tonight TCU gets it done tonight we're gonna make those during the picks and stuff but that game was fun gotta see your old uh buddy uh Drake Drake toll was yeah he told me he was trying to find you did you find him yeah we we met up at the pck bus so excellent yeah Drake's a great guy absolutely um Moen did you want to say anything about Utah while you here yeah I mean you beat up on somebody who couldn't defend them themselves yeah that was hor the small man yeah that was crazy and Ohio State's probably gonna do the same thing against St so let's wait until we see some real competition here before we start drawing any conclusions ask you this ask you this okay so the eye test so we've all watched enough football everyone in this Channel's watched enough football over the years that you have good intuition when you're watching somebody it doesn't matter the competition just the quality of play and like the Precision technical quality you know off field stuff based on recruiting rankings coaching like I think that you get a pretty good feel for your team like immediately and past youth squads and they've uh they're often struggled fluttered and everything and this just isn't it I mean like rising at the helm is a different world like if he stays healthy everything's on the table he gets hurt everything's off the table like Nate mentioning like that's it yeah Isaac we'll have to see right true freshman he's obviously got skills get there yeah um did you did you see that pick of uh his brother Zach he wasn't wearing red was he he was wearing he didn't look very happy yeah he was he was he sort of looked out of place last night so did we'll have to see he's he's fighting for a job there in Denver anyway um all right well we can we're going to get to picks right away I I think we'll get back to comments and do that stuff in a little bit let's get to piics the one thing I wanted to get you really quick moment before you put that up uh what's the uh what's your idea if you weren't watching Colorado live but you guys had to be getting those updates in the stadium right yeah like as far as in the UK game yeah okay yeah so that there were you know what there wasn't too many highlights there was an occasional score like twice the whole game so but mean it's it's kind of funny because like Colorado is a longtime quasi rivalry we're not going to even call it a rivalry they tried they tried to make a Ral but like you fans could give a crap less about Colorado so like you know every time they showed Colorado is just like oh whatever you know like it's the buff okay so you know what a lot of folks were rooting for North Dakota state to win that game though like in like the section that I was around and everything everyone was rooting for North Dakota State I was rooting for the Buffs I think that we need for the Big 12 to get these type of wins and so I have a little bit different philosophy than a lot of Youth fans they just want to see everyone everything burn apparently so five million people watched that game last night yeah five million five million was the high number what yeah it's a highest highest in the in the preseason Thursday night games ever oh my gosh the ratings this year that Nebraska Colorado game next week is GNA be nuts yeah it is oh my go Nebraska's gonna win that game by the way I'm just going to call it right now certainly not certainly not even a joke okay Moen let's bring him up let's go through them right now all right take that Banner off there real quick oh yeah absolutely absolutely there we go cut off okay all right how do you want to go through these we've already had a couple games right we can go through the couple games that we P you know pickles and Becky had North Dakota State and they won because Colorado couldn't cover a spread yes um they let a garbage time touchdown through way to go Colorado defense if you have a defense they're going to be bad this year guys getting six wins is g to be almost impossible swiss cheese defense yeah it's Utah's going to put like 40 on them or something it's Oklahoma state with their offensive line and Oly Gordon is going to do bad things he's going to run like 300 yards or something like that yeah I agree uh will say though that Hunter is a phenomenal player yeah absolutely if he isn't on that team that team might not win three games well he might not win three games anyway but um yeah I agree thing is like man if you want to be the best for Hunter you can't play him as many snaps though 120 plus snaps guys 129 out of 131 possible like that is a guaranteed way to get yourself injured that's how he got hurt last year if they want to take care of him and like and make sure that he's a high draft pick make sure that he doesn't get like a serious injury that's what I'm thinking like this guy can't be on the field for this much this just not duable today's college football they're gonna do it though I mean Dion's gonna stick him on the field it's gonna be this way but I I I think he's gonna get hurt again you just can't play that much all right uh we talked about Minnesota UNCC did you want to say anything about that one disappointing very disappointing you picked Minnesota no yeah P Minnesota I thought Minnesota was going to win that game I'd heard very positive things about Minnesota this offseason and you're at home you're looking at like a backup quarterback comes in I just it's pretty disappointing couldn't pull it out it is what it is yeah I messed that up I should have put myself down for North Carolina I put myself down for Minnesota so ignore that because I missed up I are you sure Mo are you sure I'm sure you can check the disc I can swear he told me last night that did that before the game so Clon at Georgia this is a pretty easy one Georgia's favored by 13 and a half point and I think this was the easiest pick for everybody to make I don't think anybody took a breath um it was across the board Georgia yeah I it's not even a question who's gonna win that game yeah like it seems like it's going to be over in the first half probably which as we were talking about before you were here you with that game if that game gets out of hand I could see a lot of people tuning over to Penn State West Virginia it's kind of sick that those two are on the same time you know they're huge games and everything and I hate that the West Virginia games pitted up against it I mean there's there's some big games tomorrow though the Notre Dame game's gonna get big ratings um man that West Virginia game is gonna be a good one though yep go ahead M all right Penn State West Virginia we only had one dissenting opinion here and that was Beck go Huskies she thinks Penn State is going to win and cover no way they cover she's got them winning by 10 points or more so no I I've got what I've got Penn State winning as well I just don't think they cover I I am too I think this is a three-point win or a seven point win it's y I think it's a one- score game at the end of the game one score game I think that West Virginia is gonna have a shot to win it at the end uh I've got Penn State winning real close though like one to Seven Points like you're saying moan I think West Virginia is gonna have some late heroics to almost get it done and if they can get it done it's gonna be awesome it's gonna be a good game regardless yep uh Miami at Florida Florida this was the funniest pick of the week can I just say that this one cracked me up I I'm sure you're tipping the hat too and right now now he's listening Rock who wanted to make sure we got this in the picks but there is no way Florida no there's no way Florida covers two and a half there is no way uhuh I don't know here's the thing here's the thing I picked Miami I think Miami covers but it's odd the money line on this has not moved Vegas has had that at two and a half all week yeah I don't know I I I maybe Vegas knows something that we don't know I maybe there's a guy getting sued on Miami or what is fpi say about this game does it have the Gators winning it seems like something fbii would do uh I don't think it has them winning obviously they're underdogs so I mean FBI is kind of out there let me let me check into that yeah you guys keep talking I'll tell the thing about this game is we all know the struggles Florida has had none of us think that they made the changes in the offseason to improve and circumvent those challenges uh most of us I think at P think that he's going to get fired going to be looking for work by the end of the season maybe before the UCF game if not after so yeah I don't know I I it would it would shock me if there if this is even close this should be a 14-point win for Miami so FBI's got the Gators winning by 58% like likelihood of winning FBI FBI is a little funky as we know Vegas Vegas doesn't screw with us like that there's something else going on man I it's just like that first game you just never know how it's going to go you're not polished yet the Gators don't have a chance to suck as bad right and get like that negative tail spin down which we think's gonna happen like Utah got clipped in Florida right a couple years ago and like you just never know Utah was the better Squad that year and they lost in the swamp so it's this is a weird one I'm with moan like Miami should they should easily win this game but like it's weird out there it's it's also a rivalry game and like I said rivalry games you got to throw everything out the window with rivalry games so I like I said the money line has not moved which is usually people laying money it'll move one point this way one point that way it is stuck at two and a half all we yeah maybe Vegas knows something we don't know I we Miami uh so Notre Dame Texas A&M this is a little bit different the bomber has Notre Dame pickles and Becky have Notre Dame you myself and rock all have Texas A&M so defend Texas A&M to me I will defend Texas A&M here look Texas A&M is a team with a lot of talent that was missing a coach they had Jimbo Fisher last year he could not coat I think the talent could not overcome the coaching from fiser I think with Elco there that talent's going to pull and gel together I think they're going to be a much improved Team Notre Dame has lost their starting left tackle that is a huge loss uh I think Texas A&M gets after him Riley Leonard and I think they easily win by uh I think they outright win even though they're getting points I think easily easily win you what do you think don't think it's going to be an easy win I do think A&M pulls it out super close I like A&M based on Elco like like the fact that usually team plays pretty good for a new coach first game I like that aspect it's at A&M that's the biggest as aspect of this if like if this is in South Bend I take Notre Dame all day and probably the points but this ticket is a hot ticket guys I don't know if you've seen like ticket prices for this one it's one of the most expensive tickets really of the college football season like yeah like hundreds and hundreds of bucks so like wow yeah I mean like it's freaking Notre DC come and a week one right like in A&M's HomeField Advantage is absolutely Bonkers I just think pulled him out I think they get this one done A&M so on the road historically A&M normally plays uh the first game of the season it's in a it's in a neutral area it's in Dallas it's in Vegas it's in uh uh down in Jacksonville or something like that they're playing they're normally playing in a neutral field this time they played A&M straight up they're coming they're coming to College Station that is definitely a benefit I completely disagree with both of you guys though I don't think there's any way he has his team running on full cylinders you may by the end of the season but I think uh we all pick Notre Dame to get to the playoff I think this is where that run starts and and if if they get blown out Notre Dame gets blown out they could have a tough season ahead of them so this is like a big playoff determination game right this is the kind of game that Notre Dame needs to win to get to the playoff because there's a couple of these and so um it's a big one for a lot of parties you know like for the ACC for the Big 12 and for Notre Dame this might be the most significant game of all to uh to see really who maybe what ACC or Big 12 gets two teams in the playoff right it might hinge on this this game right here so yeah Notre Dame we'll see how they do okay very good I think that's that's fair assessment at the end of the day what time is that game at is it during the day or is it at night it's a night game yeah again under the lights I just I don't know A&M's played so bad for so long I I think surprise I think they're gonna surprise okay Notre Dame's defense by the way is stacked they're defens Marcus Freeman's a great defensive coach but they have not got that offense figured out even last year with the transfer they did not have it figured out okay when Sam Hartman came through the school I don't they got another transfer this year I don't know we'll see uh LSU at USC this is a Sunday night game that line too guys just note that Notre Dame Texas Texas A&M's now favored by three as a really yeah so we just put these lines together and stuff they change but like yeah so the money is going on A&M in that game interesting but uh yeah that's good to know all right keep going Mo oh LSU USC at four and a half uh USC is the dog on this one played at a neutral site in Las Vegas it's in Las Vegas y you would have to figure with the proximity of Southern California to Las Vegas this is going to be essentially a home game for the Trojans I like USC myself I think USC outright wins it yikes I think the defense improves enough yikes I don't know that LSU's defense improves enough and I know their offense is going to take a step back they just lost their Heisman their Heisman winning quarterback so it's going to take a step back I think this is going to be a shootout I can easily see this game going 5549 wow that's lot of points I'm telling you the kid the the branch kid on USC is fast like all right really fast so I could see a lot of balls over the top I I I see this as a shootout I'm taking USC and I'm taking the over I'm taking heavy on the over okay what do you what about you you got some Trojan friends going down for this game they're stoked for this one this is a big time game game for the for USC unfortunately for them I think they're actually going to get a not going to get the result that they want to see LSU winning this game outright I think that it's going to be a fairly comfortable win I could see it' be a 10-point plus win for LSU and the reason is uh going back to the poorest defense and the weak trench play and the softness of USC it all goes back that whenever they play a more physical opponent and LSU is more physical uh they're going to get dominated in the trenches like is this going to happen the Big 10 all day long I'm not going to put any money on USC I might bet against them every single time they're on this thing this year that's how much I dislike this Trojan Squad um I think that they're gonna get absolutely housed in the trenches like it's it's almost going to be like a Colorado story just not quite as bad not nearly as bad as Colorado's trench play but USC um they just need to toughen up they just do not have the Grid on that team they do not have the defense they two or three that maybe would have gone the other way because the offense it backed off a little bit so in my opinion LSU travels I know it's like a close to LA game but I think LSU is gonna be plenty of people uh sitting there and if you've ever been in that stadium and I was in it once it is absolutely built for a game like this uh you get fans on both sides of the field it's it's fantastic and uh it it'll be made for TV heaven really to be honest I think it'll be a great game but I I think LSU covers um and wins comfortable I think 11 maybe 12 points so all right Boston College at Florida to go into that so that story was on Ross Dinger and then this David McKenzie tweet as is actually the one I want to reference so everybody can go and find that I want to make sure we give credit Ross dingers the master but really this David McKenzie I love what he says here he says the house settlement is becoming a mess it's hilarious that the basis of the ncpa objection is the lack of any collective bargaining isn't the ncpa the group that brokered the ECA deal without a CBA or Consulting players at 33% of the take I smell greed I said when the house settlement came out I think it was the day of or the day after there was going to be mired in class action lawsuits I never saw this making it through without challenges what do you guys think about what's going on with house right now go ahead moan I'm not shocked I mean I think we expected this yeah I think we all expected this so I'm not gonna throw up my hands and go I'm shocked but if I was taking odds on it I you know this is what I thought would happen so uh I don't think it's going to get settled I you know it'll just keep dragging out and dragging out and dragging out agreed billable hours remain undefeated gentlemen that's so what ends up happening we just kick this thing down the road and like and and then wait till it gets to like the courts um is that is is that what's Happening Here I I I think what I don't know I I tried to project that when it was first announced I tried to figure it out if they did class action what would be the next steps in my opinion the reason it won't work is because they didn't involve any of the other they're they're holding they're holding conferences and schools uh uh uh liable right for money that they're they didn't participate in the negotiation how how does that make any sense you're drawing in the Sun Belt Conference saying they have to take their basketball revenues and pay it to back feed this money but oh by the way they weren't in the room when they negotiated it that makes absolutely no sense to me let alone the schools so I don't I don't know I think it gets mired in the courts and this just continues to drag on and eventually it'll have to be settled but then who do you settle with you do you settle with the 2023 class does it do you get 2024 2025 2026 in there how does that work well Immaculate who's been following the story more closely yeah so let's get to com yeah the house the house settlement like is such a mess and like at the end of the day it seems like CBA is the only answer right like maybe you do some like past settlement and like it's not going to be the house settlement it's gonna be called something else but he settled all the players in history or what whatever you know uh and then CBA going forward like probably like you know a three or five year CBA that gets renewed and everything like you'd see in like professional sports and just make this thing professional like what I don't know why we just aren't going there and a really interesting development if it does go into a CBA and it goes professional I think that there's more of a chance that um that schools could be swayed by bigger piles of money from maybe a private Equity or somebody else so once you get to the CBA world stuff and the players are fighting for you know getting paid more and everything there might be more pressure to go to a place where there's more Revenue generation that's that's a development no one's talked about but I'm telling you guys if it goes to CBA then the current structure of college football might change again so um yeah let's talk about that for a second because private Equity is the thing Brett yar's been leaning into right and the conference has a rule if they get three quarters vote they can pass anything uh through their you know bylaws and all that fun stuff so I know for a fact BYU is not going to be real friendly to engaging with a private Equity Fund they're not not going to want to expose any of their money or any of that stuff to the world so they'll probably do something where here we're not going to vote against it but we're also not going to allow access and this is the reason and everything but private Equity I don't I think at this point it's an if it's just a win I mean for heaven's sakes Colorado last year talked to one in Saudi Arabia they're not screwing around right they went straight to the top Saudi Arabia is the number one their their private Equity uh system there is wh it that's where it's all started so it it it's not it's not an if it's a win so how does it come in and I think you're right Ute I think that the house settlement might drive a lot of that realignment still is way in the air and um yeah I I don't see that going away anytime soon because if you're a player and like you're under a CBA then you're going to fight for as much revenue as you can get that's right as a collective group of players and so the structures that we see now with conferences that's not the best means of monetizing if you're a player that's right I don't think at least I mean some people might disagree with that but I think you can see a formation of something new in college football if a CBA happens and I think we're moving that way so it's an it's an interesting thing to kind of pay attention to um it's going to be a game changer I think too when you're making these guys professionals what do you think Mo I don't think the private Equity thing ever gets the foothold we think it's going to get okay I I think they find enough money from other Revenue sources to be able to avoid private Equity um although as Immaculate just brought up if you were Nike University yeah that was the other news item today it wasn't really news it was have some issues yeah and making money that way so yeah it's true um and might as well bring this up uh the news item that came out was just a restating of the Nike agreement which Adidas has a very similar statement that basically says if you put our swoosh on something you're not putting anything else on it without going through us so there there is the without going through us part and if Nike gets their Kickback I still think you could see additional patches I I think that could still happen it could still happen but it's gonna have to be a brand that Nike approves okay so yeah all state Big 12 yeah I mean that's that's the thing if it's you know Nike is Nike is weird I've worked with Nike in the past uh you know for corporate things people like Nike products you cannot alter a Nike product without getting Nike's explicit it's permission to do it you have to send them aov you have to send them what it is they can say yay or nay yeah um I've had a lot of people in the softball Community who want Nike this Nike that and they don't understand why you can't do it because if if you do it and you get caught Nike will come down and sue your ass so can I ask a a simple question does anybody
