Tonal Demonstration (Pastor de Lasala, Sharp organ of Knox Grammar School Chapel)

greetings from The Chapel at Knox grammar school in Sydney and I'm seated at a very interesting organ in fact it's a landmark instrument in the organ reform movement of the 60s the organ was built by Ron sharp in 1965 and it was really a contrast of the many organs which went before it that we're looking at upper work and more barck sounds 2 years later we have pogson putting in his famous organ in the fut Hall in King's school param so let's have a look at the colors which Ron sharp has produced on this organ I might just say that the organ is not in the best of tuning at the moment it's to be tuned shortly so I apologize for that now but at least you'll hear the sounds and have an idea of what the reads are in particular when I get to them all [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] one comment I did not make early is that this organ was very much an organ which influenced the building of the Sydney Opera House organ the great champion at that time was Peter Herford who made extensive recordings on this organ and that's one of the leaves which pushed him to get Ron sharp into build the Opera housee organ so what we'll go through now is just some combinations and just a buildup again I apologize for the reads but you'll get at least an idea of how they sound for [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] l [Music] [Applause] [Music] all [Music] all [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all [Music] [Music] [Music] h [Music] oh for [Music] [Music] all [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] all [Music]
