once again I'm I'm embarrassed that argentinians are painted in this light because it's not the first time that behavior like this happens and argentinians are racist is what the headline ends up being and the fact that it's routine I think speaks to a reality of a certain aspect of Argentine culture and we can delve into the reasons we've talked a lot about this off air as to the reasons why in Argentina these conversations aren't being had there's systemically there are no black people anymore in Argentina for hundreds plus years at this point so how are conversations in Argentina going to be had to move the needle on coming to grips or Reckoning with a racial issue in Argentina because if the large majority the large large majority of public opinion believes something that'll be a certain truth in in Argentina and and I'm by no means am I trying to justify anything that's going on and anything that was sung and that was chanted I'm trying to give a reason as to why the mentality is like this but from the players who have a wider perspective of the world you should expect better they should know better and it it's embarrassing for them cuz the moment that went on on Instagram live you're not being judged the in your Argentine context anymore your behavior and your actions and the way that you speak is subject to scrutiny by the world and when the world scrutinizes the words that you're saying it's their racist chance and argentines will I've I've been reading a lot of argentines saying no no no but that's the truth the French players have have African Heritage yeah but you know what de hernandz also has Spanish Heritage and and and I don't see the Argentine singing about de Hernandez and Griezmann I think has German Heritage if I'm not mistaken they're not singing about German Heritage they are discrediting the players French identity because of their African backgrounds there's the problem there's the racism in the Chant if he was playing in Argentina you can maybe say he's a product of his environment it's the culture that's there we're not agreeing with it but he hasn't been outside of Argentina Enzo Fernandez went to Benfica he's played in Portugal he's seen a lot he's very aware of what what and then from Portugal you go to Chelsea you're in London London is a very diverse City with loads of different people you sit in the dressing rooms that's Multicultural worldwide dressing room fans can be fans and say some very stupid and hurtful things fans are fact but you're a professional football player you know what these fans are saying there's no way you should even be on there and encouraging that in any way shape or form because you have teammates who are French so now when you go back to that dressing room they're going to be looking you with one eye open and for me it's easy to make an apology you're apologizing now because you got courau but you've showed yourself and your true colors to your teammates don't apologize changing Behavior that's the best apology changing behavior and make yourself be a better person cuz it's one thing we had this conversation do not be fooled by footballers going into a dress room and you think they're all friends and they get along well and what they show in the dressing room I look at friendship as outside of that dress dressing room do you go to my house do you know my family if you come over and had dinner with me and my family and my kids that's what it is it's easy to be nice to fans and I know uh I think Nicholas Jackson tried to defend him and say oh look he's being nice to a kid well he's not going to call a kid um any kind of racial slurs when there's videos and things there right but how many times have black players or French players been to his house to know that but for me my point is generally footballers need to do better to stop using ignorance as an excuse it does not stand it just does not stand you we have access now these players are surrounded you say they're surrounded by players from all over the world it's a lazy excuse yep a th% of and they are stupid and they are irresponsible and the the thing as well just to add to Sue's point I agree with you is he has a platform he's just won the World Cup with Argentina he's one of the biggest people in Argentina so when young kids and people watch him singing a song that they know is wrong he knows it's wrong they're going to be influenced by him these players have a responsibility whether they like it or not no one told you to go on social media live and then now I'm not this I'm no you just did it you just did it you're apologizing cuz you got caught I just want to say as well I want to say thank you niik I know it's a tough seg for you it is and and I can see your passion so thank you for speaking up
