UTSA Get's Dominated by Texas State | Live Reaction

all right we're live hello everyone uh welcome to another episode of Daran talks UTSA um yeah this is not going to be a fun one it's not fun to talk about UTSA right now but for those of you I'm sure everyone here has seen But for for those of you who have not been up with what's been going on UTSA just got demolished um against Texas State 49- 10 complete embarrassing performance I'm getting the stats and stuff pulled up right now this was ugly folks this was this was as bad as it gets this was as bad as it gets I know uh I I I've kind of committed to saying that I was going to do these the day after and I will for the most part but this one um is just a little bit different and to be honest with this leaving such a bad taste in my mouth I don't want this to bleed into other parts of my weekend this this part of my weekend is already ruined because of what we just watched and I don't want that to bleed into tomorrow so I'm making a decision to do this uh now so the the the chat may not be as as uh well although I'm seeing a lot of comments the chat may not be as uh full today as it is or it has been normally but we will continue on and people can watch uh whenever they get the time to do so because I know a lot of folks are at the game are traveling back and I would expect them who have already left by now but anyway um I don't even know where to start number one before I get into the comments because I see a lot of comments are already rolling right now obviously you know the normal things if you want something prioritized leave a Super Chat I'm going to get to it and I'll do my best to prioritize members um but overall just before I get into the comments what was that performance for my offense I am never and and for you guys who have been with me for a while now I don't call coaches out um like that right I'm pretty reluctant and I try to be fair because I understand the job that these guys are being asked to do and I understand the difficulty that that are associated with that job but I didn't like the play calling from my coach from my offensive coordinator Burke last year I did not like it um I was I was relatively vocal about that and even whenever I had Frank Harris on the show earlier this year I asked him about the the OC specifically and I and I told him that I had some I thought that he which I'm talking about Frank I thought Frank bailed him out quite a bit and um folks let's just be very clear about something Frank is not there to bail him out this year he's not there to bail him out this year so that leaves us with a situation where um he's going to be under a microscope now right you're not going to I don't want to hear this oh well that was my first year being an OC well this this is your second year how how's it going weren't great last season or or last week we were awful today I mean awful that's a Texas State team listen to this and listen hats off to Texas State like I know there's banter there back and forth and there's all this stuff that's been going on throughout the week between Texas State fans and UTSA fans fair play to them they came out ready to play um and they took care of business the fact that we let Texas State beat us 49- 10 not only does that signal you know the difference between the teams but it also signals how UTSA is going to Fair going into conference listen that Texas State team was good don't get me wrong but they're not power five good they played Lamar last week and Lamar almost beat him we couldn't hold a I mean we couldn't hold a flame to that team out there today um and I I'll just continue to say this offensively what are we doing what are we doing it's the same thing we go listen we did a run a weird Run play on first down from the gun or we did a quick quick um a screen to the outside wide receiver screen which those we were doing all right with those by the way um but like it was very predictable first down you know what we were going to do if we threw the ball on first down we were 100% no matter what going to run it on second down same pattern then we get into a third and long and then ask an inexperienced quarterback to go to to to draw to to coordinate third and Longs and ask him to go get nine and 10 yards third down after third down drive drive after drive over and over again yeah yeah yeah dude that's not gonna that's not gonna equate to wins bro that's not gonna qu that's not go no no it's it's embarrassing it's embar like bro I could have give me to play sheet I would have called better plays than that I'm just calling the spay to Spade that was embarrassing bro that was embarrassing we talking about a team that has built something that has built a sort of a reputation to be one of the you know we a lot of people picked us to win the conference this season right A lot of people picked us to be at least on a short list you know top two top three we a we ain't going to do nothing in conference with that we'd be lucky to make a bowl game playing like that and and I try to warn everyone I try to warn everyone everyone keeps talking about the depth that we have this might be the greatest roster that we've had you know ever and things like that I I listen to be fair I I drunk some of that Kool-Aid as well but one thing I was consistent about was that talent and depth means nothing if you cannot execute it means nothing if you cannot execute and you also have to ask yourself the question you also have to ask yourself this question that talent and depth that we look at and we say that so you know we have just an an abundance of riches when it comes to depth and talent what does Texas State have then because it wasn't all scheme it wasn't all scheme did you see what was happening up front on both sides our dline and our front seven has been you know great I've even leaned on them saying they were going to be the strength of our team and they were going to be you know and I'm about defensively they were going to be the anchor that I know that week in and week out that we we we're going to be able to rely on them but they got punched in a mouth by Texas State offensive line they got punched in a mouth from the beginning to the end of the game so it makes me question all of that talent that we talked about you know I don't know what's going on there what's going on there now defense I I'll give the defense a little bit of a pass because not not like a total pass but a little bit of pass because they were getting put in some bad situations the punter I'm sorry they need to hold they need to be holding tryouts right now at UTSA starting tomorrow anybody there are people on that campus that can punt better than what what what I seen today come on bro what are we doing what are we doing like is that part that was Amateur hour that was Amateur hour on multiple occasions on multiple occasions so we have special teams we can't get done the coach don't want to kick a field goal because he doesn't he doesn't trust the kicker he's going for it on fourth down early because he don't trust his kicker and he don't trust that his punter can place the ball properly um we don't have an offensive coordinator who knows a lick about football it seems like what he can do is he can script up a good drive a first opening drive whenever the defense has not been able to make adjust ments to what they're seeing he can do that he showed that last week and he showed that on drive two this week right that drive two was pretty good we drove the ball down there we got to the we got to pretty much the goal line and then penalties again hurt us which I'm going to talk about that as well but we listen we we are we we have expectations now and we can't be you know hiring offensive coordinators that's going to be putting up stuff like this he got bailed out last year because Frank Harris and listen I'm sure he's a greaty guy I don't know him I've never met him I'm sure he's a great gu Guy this is no attack to him um as a person it's not an attack to his character he just can't call plays that's what he he just can't call plays that's what it comes down to um from a player standpoint I'm not going to go in on players like I'll go in on some of the coaches but maau has to be better um listen if he's going to be a starting quarterback for us listen there I said this last week too and I I try not to harp on this so much because I don't want to be seeming like a Debbie Downer um about some of the you know about my I don't want my personal feelings to get into all of this right or like what I think the like mostly about a player and things like that but what I did say last week and I and I and I was pretty clear about that is he played good for the first quarter and the first drive I believe of the second quarter was not great for the rest of the game and that was our offense in general we seen about a quarter a quarter and a half or a quarter and a third uh of a good play from off from the offense but once we went off script maau was not great and the offensive coordinator was awful that's just a fact there's no beating around bushes on that that's a fact anybody with an objective lens can can go back and look at that game I've watched that game I watched the game against kentha State probably five or six times already I've been through that film over and over and over and over again we weren't great after um set the seven minute Mark of the second quarter offensively and that goes for quarterback just everything included our skilled players did did some things well um not the running game listen I haven't even got to our offensive line or have I I was talking about the defensive line who got dominated offensive line we can't do anything with that offensive line right now can't run the ball how many how many yards rushing do we have we had 82 rushing yards 82 rushing yards come on man this ain't UTSA football this a and listen somebody made a great point there was a few people made a great point about how we used to run and I was actually talking to anas about this um uh I think last week he brought up a good point whenever we had remember remember the days when sinc mccor was here we we we lined him up in an eye formation and said here you go right we we got to we got to back that good you got to you gotta commit to getting that guy the ball getting the line with their mindsets of getting downhill and clearing out pass to run the ball we're doing all this cutesy stuff bro that ain't working we ain't got the offensive line to do that all right come on bro we we this this is this was this was really really embarrassing really really embarrassing I I don't I it's I'll go through some of the comments now but like there's just so many flaws throughout the throughout the game I'm thinking listen and I know I'm kind of going all over the place right now because I'm just I haven't taken any notes for this this is all coming off the just coming off the game I just finish watching a game like you guys so excuse me for being a little bit all over the place about some of this but like one of the big things I think that's important to call out here is is and I'll go back to the quarterback situation on third down we had multiple opportunities to convert although they were third and Longs and it w these are not great situations think about that past uh to I believe it was either um overmeire or Hunter Thomas uh in or Houston Thomas in the middle of the field on I think it was a third and 10 it was a great read uh um Texas state was showing Blitz but they was it was obvious that they was going they were uh in a Zone because we motioned the we motioned the tight end across the formation nobody went with him and nobody was standing over him obviously your hot read is going to be the tight end right there how do we overthrow that pass so you you throw the ball you throw the pass too high number one the read was correct you throw the pass too high he doesn't we don't convert it because he was he was wide open and then you get him smacked by a linebacker as he was coming across the middle while he was midair can't happen can't happen then on a second and eight a I think it was the next drive after that this is the one to me the starter broke the camel back he rolls out right he rolls out oh no I'm sorry he rolls out left his running back is wide open throw just completely missed him we had another one where he went he was going to throw it left third down to mckuin who beat his guy you put that you put that ball on the numbers he could be Off to the Races we throw it behind him those things can't happen and I'll tell you my my quick thoughts on this and I'll start getting into some of your uh uh comments here here's the differences I've seen between Eddie Lee and I and Owen Macau what I thought Owen Macau was gonna bring to the bring to the um dance was the ability to be a playmaker with his legs extending plays and things like that folks I saw that from Eddie Lee marberger today I didn't see that from on today yeah I I didn't see that uh Owen Owen did not look very comfortable at all when the play when his first option wasn't there he didn't look comfortable happy feat his his his Lanes where he was trying to get out and run and bu time were not great um even the P he now he did make a couple of good passes whenever he was rolling out on the run but for the most part they weren't I think Eddie Lee just the type of quarterback he is like I said I was a little bit surprised at what he was able to do with his legs but I actually liked it it was really effective it wasn't pretty but he was he was he was impactful with his legs he extended plays he was able to hit some people on the Run he's also gonna SL he's gonna throw the ball bro like that's another thing he's goingon to take his shots downfield right like yeah he need to get more more chemistry with the ons obviously but he's gonna take his shots downfield so I it'd be curious to see who he starts next week I would start um italie marberger personally because I think he I think what he brings to the table like if we lose with what he's bringing to the table I'm okay with it because I can at least see the effort I can at least see that he's gonna try even if he throws an interception like he's going to give us an opportunity to win I just didn't see that with Macau today I did not see it count day I didn't feel I don't feel confident that he and this is obviously me um reacting coming off of a game but I just didn't get the idea I didn't I didn't feel good about what I said today because we're going to play teams that like like here's the thing we can't like say like oh well maau did all of this on like he did all of that stuff on script last week I'm telling you just just just I'm telling you he did most of that success was on script it was obvious just go back and watch the tape it was it was scripted they knew what they were doing they had that defense off balance they did it I mean listen credit's them you still got to go out and make those passes you still got to go out and make those plays I'm not saying that that you can't you can't uh you don't deserve credit for that but what is going to like what do you think made Frank Harris so good right like on script he was great but like when a play breaks down he finds a way he finds an open receiver he runs it himself he finds a way to continue to progress the ball down field and ultimately in the end zone and if we're going to run the type of offense that we have that that we are are currently and this is this is a thing with trailer 2 that people in my chats are are talking about now I'm talking about other football players are talking about now if we want to run this type of offense we don't have the type of we don't have the profile quarterback right now to be able to run the type that same exact offense we're gonna have to adjust we G to do something different or put somebody else in there that F that that that satisfied the style that we want to that we want to apply but what is happening right now is not going to cut it it's not gonna cut it because we're gonna get embarrassed like listen we we know what's gonna happen next week right like if this would happen against Texas I wouldn't be on here hot like this like a like you expect it Texas might be the best team in the country right now I don't know if y'all seen them play Michigan this morning let me tell you something Texas that team that they're gonna do this to us and maybe even worse right you expect that but K Texas State bro if Texas State's doing us like this bro we going to have a tough time in conference we got to turn this thing around let me get to some of your comments here because Eric says at the state of this team at of the team we may not make a bowl game that's exactly what I'm saying if we don't change something we didn't look good against kentha State and we gave them the benefit of the doubt I've certainly gave them the benefit of the doubt because I believe in trailer um and just we we built up a you know a lot of positive Equity over the last three years in what this team is about and what coach trailer is about but bro um yeah boy was I wrong and were we all wrong were we all wrong and here's the thing about football bro you can't hide you cannot hide it's one of the sports that you can't hide a player right you know how in basketball like they can hide a player on defense LCA for for you guys who are Dallas Maverick friend fans you know how they hide Luca Donis on defense a lot of the times you can't do that in football you can't do that in football you will get exposed Kennesaw State exposed some of our weaknesses last week and Texas State just put everybody on notice not only are they a team to be reckoned with but they put everybody on notice that UTSA right now is on fraud fraud alert that's just a fact that's just a facts you clip that out and do whatever you want to right now what they put on notice is UTSA is on fraud alert we're going to go down to one- two we're one and one now we're not going to beat Texas we're going to be down one- two um we're gonna you know hopefully we beat Houston Christi we'll we'll have to see um but yeah we're gonna go in a conference two and two and probably not feeling great about that not feeling great about that um Cody says didn't somebody say last week in this game one team will pull way big yeah multiple people said that I hate to be that dude but when do we start looking at the coaching staff you don't look at you don't look at coach trailer but you can definitely question the offensive coordinator 1,00% and whoever is uh working with the the special teams coach who's ever the who's ever over special teams like he yeah he needs to be talked to he needs to be talked that special teams guy needs to be talked to he got to get his players straight but the one person you can question absolutely is coach Burke yeah um Brin Bri says they should have started the more experienced Elm from the beginning instead of going with the fast pick of Mac listen I think they were you got two different profile of quarterbacks and I'm sure that coach trer seen what um seen what he liked from Owen Macau and that's why he went with him but um yeah I mean listen to I'm just be honest Eddie Lee marberger didn't pull up any trees either let's let's not like I I think he looked better than Macau don't get me wrong but like he didn't pull up any he wasn't great either like now like if you ask me who I feel better with going forward um and it has very little to do with like what actually transpired today it has more to do well it does a little bit don't get me wrong but it to me it's the profile of quarterback right if if Macau is going to pick and choose when he wants to be a playmaker or not I can't deal with that I don't want that if he can't adjust when a play breaks down and buy more time to find an open Target I can't I can't do that right like that's like I said that's the one thing I liked about Macau man no play was the play had like no play was over no play was over Anthony said embarrassing absolutely it's a joke Jason says I didn't see that coming neither did I I don't think any of us I don't even Texas State didn't see this coming kenesa probably wasn't as wasn't as good as we thought they were going to be I told everybody this I said this exact thing people were trying to use that like they was you some people were using that as an excuse like oh like Kennesaw State was and I even think trailer referenced it as well Kennesaw State was better than what we thought no no I said this last week and I will continue to say that they weren't as good as we as as as they weren't that good we just didn't play well and to me this is this is this is the sort of vindication from from that point anyway my opinion is the offense coordinated pretty much threw the game for us plus Macau not throwing correctly along with our defense didn't even show up yeah I agree with most of that the offensive coordinator put Macau in a bad position he put the offense in a bad position he put our players in Jeopardy of getting injured on multiple occasions yes I believe the offensive coordinator deserves so C some some some responsibility for that um Macau has to be more accurate he was inaccurate on plenty plenty passes especially on third Downs when they were pivotal cannot have that um and defensively I can't say the defense didn't show up because they at least showed Signs of Life they started the game well we got to take away on the first possession they St they kept him out of the end zone made a big fourth down stop um uh uh in the first quarter as well the defense got put in some bad bad positions now I'm not like I said I'm not giving him a total pass but like even in the second half they came out and Bal out but if you keep if your offense continues to go three and out and the Special Teams can't punt the ball and the the other the opposing team is going to get the ball either you know going in every time or at the 50 yard line of course the defense is not going to perform well and if the offensive coordinator gets that many looks against our defense yes these people are also uh very talented they have very talented rosters they are very smart minds and if an offensive coordinator continues to get looks at a defense they're going to start to dissect them and that's what we seen today the defense got to do better don't get me wrong but they got put in some terrible positions terrible positions we gota now what I will say about the defense is they got tackle in open field better man we can't keep letting dudes catch hitch routes and take them for 50 what is that come on man we bet we we we are better team than that all the talent that we have on in the secondary in just the entire team we are better than what we showed today Texas state did what any good team should do expose our weaknesses and it's going to be rough for a few weeks absolutely absolutely yep exact that's exactly what they did chef chef uh Chef Ray says season done honestly we're running around like a chicken with our heads cut off trying to find answers bro I I won't say season is done college football playoff is obviously done there was a long shot anyway I guess but like yeah that that dream is done we'll have to see for next year but right now we still have a lot to play for there's still conference that we can that we can hopefully be in a on a short list for but we got a lot of cleaning up to do over these next two weeks and it just so happens one of those two weeks we're going to be playing the best team in the one of the best two or three teams in the country in in University of Texas here in Austin Ian Brown says how much of the blame should you put on trailer compared to the coordinators the play calling was bad at both sides but also the players just weren't disciplined you know what trer deserves some some some um he deserves some blame as well like it's ultimately his team so he's in charge for putting coach Burke in you know in charge of the offense he's in charge of you know quarterback issues he's in charge of a lot of it so he deserves some too obviously um trailer it's hard to say trailer's the problem considering his track record so he's not right you don't want to overreact with the head coach we we're lucky to have him but at the same time yes he deserves he deserves blame as well uh s say can't blame the coaching for poor effort by the players too many missed tackles no reason multiple big plays on rack I agree with this 100% I yeah like the players I'm not blaming the coaching exclusively the players have to do better 1,00% so I'm not exclusively blaming the uh the coaches but I think the coaches um especially our off the coordinator what was that today bro like what was that I would love to hear from him what was that today what was that Curry says uh my Twitter comment uh the OC so true today my biggest fear with this team realized offensive scheme was living off muscle memory from wilstein and Frank previous two years now both are gone honestly that's exactly what it looked like and um we're in trouble like I said Frank is not there to baild this coordinator out he's not there I don't like I'm not calling for anybody's job per se but what was that he's I mean what was that what was that that that offens that's one of the worst offensive performances I I've ever seen from a UTS from a UTSA team and I'm talking about some of those years or you know some of those games we didn't really have a quarterback you know I mean I haven't that was embarrassing um Josh says what is our offensive strategy and identity it seems like we're always predictable at best two-dimensional and that we can pass and run but running and passing are both onedimensional listen um I got to talk about this a little bit because uh you know some of the players that will remain nameless are talking about this and have have kind of addressed to me as well um not current players but former players are talking about like at what point we going to add a little bit more sauce to our offense because the RPO um base can get a little tired and I agree with that we got to throw the ball downfield what was that that's what I mean whoever is in charge of that gotta change it we don't throw the ball down field listen you you got understand this when you whenever you're playing a team that doesn't throw the ball downfield well or at all the defense can now just tighten up the safeties can go from you know 12 plus to 10 right because they're not worried about a threat going past them the corners can be more aggressive backers can be more aggressive the defensive coordinator can be more aggressive everybody can be more aggressive so now guess what you can't run the football your RPO doesn't work did you see what started to happen to our RPO later in the game in the second half did you see the way those safeties were beaming down on the guys who were catching the ball and making a big hit every time did you notice that I can't wait to pull that up on film and show you guys did you notice that you know why they're not worried about getting beat deep because we ain't testing them deep to be fair Eddie Lee came in and threw a few deep balls um but we got to put those in play right like those yeah they we got to put those in play but we can't wait till the second half to start doing that Willie McCoy has to catch the ball cuz we did we did go deep early in the game um and I thought on threw a really really nice back shoulder pass hit him right in the hands he dropped it and maybe that made us not throw anymore but in my opinion I'm like yo we got really good position on them there if you go look on fil what happened when Lamar threw the ball deep against Texas State they won one-on-one with high on High Point High Point balls multiple if Lamar receivers can do that we can so why didn't we do that more earlier in the game I'm not talking about oh after halftime when we're already down 35 to three come on bro what is this this is that stuff's a waste of time all the people who went and showed up there bro come on man come on come on I've been that's why I said I didn't want to do this tomorrow I sit up here and I carve out you carve out time of your day to do the you know to watch the game and you get a performance like this it's just it's pitiful Jay says um season done haven't even gotten to conference play yet I mean yeah this was bad but there's opportunity to improve the season isn't done uh I don't think the season is done I'm not gonna overreact to this but it is bad I can't I can't lie about that this is bad this is about as bad as it gets this is about as bad as it gets Josh D we have a uh Place kicker punting no one is tackling penalties I don't know who he is punting but he needs to not punt I'm sorry guy but seriously this is mean two games in a row what are we doing um Conor Su says everything was just embarrassing literally yep bad as it gets opening drive we started with the eight yard run then two weird plays back exactly that's what I mean it's like the coordinator the offensive coordinator is working against itself bro like we'll start doing something good and we we'll start doing something right and then we just go backwards the plays just get worse it's like can't really handle success like oh we're doing good let me try this wrong geez this OC with uh his East and West passing plays must go we need that's what I'm saying listen I'm not I'm not you can you can operate with a with with the sort of east and west game you can do that right but there's a way to do it if there's no North and South if there's no North and South the East and West base doesn't matter because because you safeties aren't sitting at 14 because they're worried about somebody on one of the receivers over there that's going to take off the top that safety sitting at 12 12 and under 12 and short shorter probably not worried at all not taking a back step when they sna the ball that's what that's what started to happen in it's just come on bro it's Amateur hour rebuild season bro we're going six and six I hope not I hope not season ain't done withf finish 84 maybe 75 at worst we dropped to U UT un and Memphis I don't know I don't honestly at this point like whenever we look like here's the thing and I hate to be like this but I have to for a lot of the folks who were on here saying like oh you know our starting quarterback was decided after the bowl game right like what what happened at the bowl game uh you know that that that sort of sealed the job and it's like and I was always asking the question well did it like the bow game wasn't great I mean we w i mean listen we won the game don't get me wrong but was our quarterback's performance in that game you know something to knock your socks off it was not it was not and I also told you guys that we will continue to see this quarterback battle throughout the what name because and I was just playing Devil's Advocate but I said what if things start to go wrong against Texas State we'll certainly see Eddie Lee now I said this before for kenesa state but it's exactly what happened it's exactly what happened I will be curious to hear what coach trer has to say after the game about the quarterback swap because I know he doesn't know who he's going to start going into T into the UT game they're both neither is gonna play well so we're guys here's the reality we're going to have a quarterback sort of Carousel throughout the first four weeks of the season and in my opinion like I wouldn't have been mad if we would have seeing Brandon Tennison today why not we've been seeing the same two guys you know for for years why not see someone else you never know what you'll get why not I mean you know he he he knows trailers Tendencies and I mean he's a Gilmer guy why not uh top to bottom coaching staff especially OC yes a joke in addition our offensive line is not as good as we think obviously not sure how we've yeah dude I don't know I guess these guys are transferred for a reason I don't know what's going on with the offensive line play bro I don't know it's um I'll I'll be able to tell you more on whenever I look at look at the tape back but like we can't we can't get out of first gear because teams are just swarming Us Kennesaw State embarrassed us embarrassed the offensive line I thought I I included it in my film breakdown it was a few plays where we were just getting done by kennsaw State and Texas State didn't play no games like here's the thing Texas State like you look at those Ken Kennesaw State and Texas State and people say oh Kennesaw was better than what we thought okay were they Texas State Texas state is not going to be a team and this is this is not me trying to shave Texas State they were great today they're going to be they're going to be tough to beat for teams in the Sun Belt 100% but like did you get the impression that they're going to be like you know I don't know do you think they're going to be ranked in the top 15 they might but the reason I'm highlighting that is like to kind of show like no we just not that good we played a not so good kentha State team could barely throw the ball that was just basically running trying to run the whole time and uh you know scraped out of there with a victory and you know we play a team that's on our level supposed to be on our level it's just just shameful it's just shameful there's a lot of comments I don't know how I'm GNA sort through this yeah I there's people that are upset today uh okay I said Burke was not our guy during the CBO my brother-in-law said growing pains and I yeah I never liked him to be honest I held my tongue a lot more you know before I was trying to get behind him I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt of it being his first um year being a coach but I did talk about those at least we're not doing crazy reverses like we were I can tell that they I can tell coach trailers like hey don't do that again we haven't we Haden seen it reverse in two games um at least I don't think we have so yeah at least we aren't doing those but yeah I don't he's not it bro he's not it at this point I'm just like trailer like go back to your old days why don't you start calling plays again why not can't do worse than this especially when you see how two lane in Memphis plays today yeah bro I don't even want to think about that right now on the defensive side we had no defensive line pass rush we did not we could not get pressure before and we couldn't even get pressure half the time when we sent extra guys by the way Colorado is getting housed by uh Nebraska if you guys aren't watching it's crazy uh it's 210 right now they're they're they're they're gonna they're having about a because he was keeping Eddie Lee in his back pocket just to let him know like yo if things hit the fan you're coming in and that's exactly what we seen so to me the announcement of a starter wasn't as concrete as um as we may have been led to believe it feels like these coaches don't light a fire for these players for my plv look listen I don't also don't know what what's been going on about like us not getting to the game on time and all of that but what is going on with our operations guys what is going I know JJ gave me some context about uh some of this is on the opposing team and they could have had um you know some issues or they could have been part of the problem but us showing up 90 minutes before we didn't look prepared I I trust me our coordinator certainly our offensive thought if we get no good quarterback play going into conference play do we possibly see the third string quarterback have an opportunity and you're talking about the Auburn transfer oh you're talking about Demetrius Davis I don't think so because he's not the third string quarterback the third string quarterback is Brandon tenyson and he's a Gil he's a Gilma Prospect and if he's third string they're not going I think coach trailer will see him before we see Demetrius Davis I think and if it is going bad like why not why not you can't just sit up if if listen we've been working with these two guys for a minute if it doesn't work out between them go to someone else you recruit for a reason you bring in other guys for a reason it is their job to get those other guys prepared if it is a possibility that they could be going out and leading our offense at some point we spend all this time recruiting we spend all this money getting recruits in utilize them you don't get people just to sit on the bench and and just be there for scout team you don't do that right so if if if there if the quarterbacks that we have right now that are one and two not getting it done yes you go to the third and see if if if some teams do this all the time there's going to be a team that goes to three or four quarterbacks this year before they find the one they like it's going to happen I you know
