It, it actually did blow my, my mind a little bit. Lauren, listen, I've been on Jock since he was in the minor leagues with the Dodgers. He was one of their top prospects hitting a ton of homers in the minor leagues. Flare for the dramatic when he came up to the big leagues, given the money sign coming around third. He's had moments, but when you truly dive into his numbers and peel him back, he's been arguably one of the better hitters in the game for the last 23 years. And I want to tip my cap to mike Cason for going out in November and signing him to a one year. I think, I believe it was 12.5 million. I'm because in today's day and age, those guys are having a tough time getting jobs and it was a quick pop and he has made a big difference. This is the guy when, if you're not a guy who dives into analytics, this is where you need to dive into it because this is where you find that there, that diamond in the rough who's hiding. And I was preparing for this breakdown you were gonna do today and I started looking up stuff on, you know, start Googling stuff and we broke him down two years ago, 2022 we sat here, we did a Jock Peterson breakdown. Me and you and the adjustments we went through his adjustments that he made leading up to 2022. And from that point on, he's been that guy. He continues to be that guy and he's becoming a strong, let's let's love on Jock Peterson a little bit with the front end here. And like I said, this was a guy who signed a one year deal two years, years ago, 6 million with the Giants and went bonkers. Then they gave him the qualifying pause this game, the qualifying offer and Then he went out kind of had what appeared to be a dumb down here , but the expected numbers were way better. They were on par with what he had done the previous year. So mike has goes out and says, you see a guy with Richard, see a guy in your division, you understand the park difference. You're going, talking about San Francisco, the biggest yard in baseball if you could put numbers up there, bring that over to chase field and let's see what that turns. I mean, I mean, look at this nl waited runs created plus leaders this season, minimum 300 plate appearances, I mean, if they don't platoon him and I'd like to see him hit against lefties a little bit. He can do it. Highest slug percentage versus fastballs. Don't let's not get into this yet. Roy get me into the tape. I want to get back since the all star break. He has been killing it. A 347 batting average, a 776 slug a 231 weighted runs created. Plus he has kind of gotten up on the dish. He is not looking to push the ball the other way. He is trying to close the screen door on you and quick snatch you pull side for pop and it is, he's leaning on baseball. He's getting big hits. He's getting late three run homers for them. Watch it. You think the boys like him? Let's go. Perdomo was out from the on deck circle like wanting to give him a high five. All right. So I wanna dive into all the stances. You talk about tinkering from when he first showed up in 16 to all the different moves. He's pretty static right here. He's wide open. Look at the hand placements. So kids at home don't be afraid to mess around with it. Especially if you're scuffling. There might be something that unlocks you here. I mean, he's a completely different stance from 16 to 20. Yeah, I mean, he's playing with the bases a lot. He's playing with the hands, you're starting off vertical. He gets back by the time you finish all the transition, you go back to what, you know, you end up at least in the middle of where you are. I mean, you start getting close to 2020 just maybe not as open but you, he loves the hands close to him. He's gonna keep the bat a little more vertical now. But what I love about him once he gets his base together, he's never in between anymore. He knows what his approach is at the play at the plate. He's trying to get the head out , he's trying to pull it. He's not trying to shoot you the other way. He's not trying to be the complete hitter. He's trying to be really good at what he does well and he, he knows his approach and he sticks to it all season long. Take a look at the side angle. May 12th, 2023 Then early season March this year and Then now, I mean, he's making adjustments even now, run it. I was the same way dro it's always a feel. Blake kicks the same, this kind of we were talking about this. This can kind of promote the way he's got his bat angle right here. That kind of rotational. I think, I think he stands with it at a dress right here. So he thinks big part of the field gaps, a gap and that gets him online. Hitters who naturally are laying the bat down guys when they have to go they have to think in their mind so extreme on the vertical side just to, to get to the natural 45 degree like launch angle. Yeah. All right. Run the fastball b, roll of him killing it. I mean, he keeps his hands so close to him now. Really good. Really good. He's like you. Yeah, throw me a heater middle in. See what happens. Yeah, he's got, and he's incorporated yellow as the team. Yes, he has. He's gone. Ronald the cunha kind of. But it's funny you get yourself to the big leagues being able to hit a fastball this second half. He's actually been handling some off speed stuff a little bit better, which is pumped his numbers up crazy good. But the bottom line is Jock can hit a heater. I want these three boards to go hot, change them all. Pause this, give it to me. Highest slug versus fastballs. Judge Soto Peterson. Give me the next one. Highest slug versus elevated fastballs. Judge Soto Vientos Peterson. Give me the next 1. 95. Plus who the guy can hit a heater. Look at Ruffy Devers. Goodness gracious. He really can hit a heater. Get back into the tape a little bit right here. We'll do a spray chart and a reason I wanted to morph him back and forth because when you really dive in, he's giving you what kyle Schwarber is giving Philly. Wow, you wouldn't think that. But he is based on the numbers, we have a board to support it. And like you said, this, this play and everything in the air is knocked up the middle and this is where hitters, everybody is not gonna be the line to line guy. When, when everybody's preaching , oh everybody needs to be the complete hitter. You gotta be able to hit the ball out the field everywhere. That's great for, for some players that's not for everybody every now and Then you're gonna have a Isa Peredes who's gonna get the head out Jose Altuve, who's going to just get the head out Jock Peterson. As long as you know what your approach is, you're fine with swinging and missing every now and Then, which he's going to do. But when you make a mistake, he's gonna make you pay all. Let's get back into it real quick. Hm This is interesting. So pause this to me. Do you have the board with Schwarber? And Then I wanna make that last point. So take a look at a player comparison since the start of 2022. Now, obviously, Schwarber's got 700 more plate appearances because he faces left handed pitching, which is interesting. Look at the average, look at the on base, look at the slug, look at the weighted runs created plus he's doing the same stuff. He just doesn't get a chance to face left handers, get me into the B role real quick because I know they're going Randall Grichuk platoon, which makes a ton of sense. That's what they do in Arizona. But man, it's not like this guy has never hit off lefties before. He's had some success. I wonder if you asked Jock, would he want to see some left handers? He might say. No, I'm good. I've kind of carved out a nice niche, but I just want to show you through two good young hitters. Gunner, Henderson, Riley Green that get the play every day left on left. I mean, Jock's doing what they do. I mean, they, they have grit over there and they're probably gonna say we got a good thing going on. We're not gonna switch it up. But I think we need to send this entire video to his agent and let them take that too. It really is.
