Linkin Park Announce New Singer | Fan Reaction SUCKS

Lincoln Park yesterday announced their new singer would be Emily Armstrong from the band dead Sarah and there has been a little bit of a shitstorm online regarding her addition to a band which is so beloved by so many people myself included I just wanted to make a quick video about this today because I've seen the controversy online you know it's it's an interesting question I guess how do you replace an iconic artist like Chester Bennington some people see it as almost sacriligious to even try whereas I embrace the other side of the coin which is it's great to see the remainder of Lincoln Park continuing to make music and grow into something new while keeping that memory of Chester alive and well I was just in my final year at school when hybrid fairy came out and obviously that album was a phenomenon it was a huge success I remember I think doing a bit of my art coursework on the album artwork from that album it it was really a huge deal I remember my prom as you guys call It in America I remember they had a few Lincoln Park tracks on the playlist you know it was a big deal they were a huge band they blew up into something massive overnight which is you know the story everyone knows H linoln Park is sadly in 2017 Chester Bennington decided to take his own life and it sent shock waves through the not just the metal Community but the community at large in general you know a lot of us have grown up with that that music and then obviously link Park had some downtime because it's like how do you carry on as a band when you've lost the face of the band that's the thing I think people forget the musicians are important they all play an important role and obviously the sound of the band and how a band functions but the singer is usually the face of the band you know that the general public and the audience connect with and Chester was a huge personality in the Rock sphere and the popular music sphere in general he was enormous you know he was a force of nature iconic vocals iconic songwriting huge voice and when we lost him it was obviously a devastating day for so many people and his family and friends and the fan base at large and just music in general so now they've come out of the Shadows almost and they've announced Emily Armstrong as their new vocalist and a lot of people are like you should form a new band it shouldn't be under the Lincoln Park Banner the band died when Chester died and I see that as very self-restricting and I see that as regressive thinking in my personal opinion I get it I understand it but I think it's reductive and I think it's silly I feel like adding Emily to the band it shows growth it shows that this journey we're all on continues it doesn't stop with death and I watched the video of their stream last night their live concert she did an amazing job in my opinion she's got that huge vocal with a signature kind of raspiness and edginess that Chester obviously had so it's kind of like a nod to Chester with that vocal style but then bringing her own take to it a fresh spin on it and as long as she isn't trying to impersonate Chester and she is doing her own thing I'm all for it I think it's the way we as fans should all get behind it and support it we are lucky that Lincoln Park as musicians are still doing music and still putting out music together they could have all just disappeared and quit forever and that would be the end of the Lincoln Park story and that would be really sad in my opinion I feel Chester if he were with us he would be smiling down from heaven he would be happy the band is continuing on this journey and they will honor him every performance I believe Mike shenoda said something like we as the crowd as fans we are all Chester now and I feel that's incredibly profound and Incredibly important and I think to honor Chester's memory we should throw our support behind the band and encourage them and grow with them as people and as fans and we'll all move on this journey together we'll never forget Chester we'll never replace Chester they're not trying to replace Chester they are trying to evolve to grow to move on to the next destination in this journey that we're all on and I feel like it's it's sad that people are getting upset about it and although I understand it cuz I I do understand it I do I totally get it and I'm sure Lincoln Park as musicians and as people and as friends of Chester understand but they would have sat down and they would have thought long and hard about this before bringing Emily on board they would have seen she is the right person to carry the torch forward and they want to move forward as musicians that doesn't mean forgetting about Chester or leaving him behind it means moving forward in his memory with him there in the form of inspiration in the form of foundation he will always be a pillar of the Lincoln Park sound of the Lincoln Park brand and what better way to honor his memory than to continue you know to stop would be saying the journey ends and I don't think Chester would have thought like that personally as a musician and as someone who loves creative freedom and expressing myself creatively I don't think Chester would have he he wouldn't have wanted the journey to stop he would have wanted it to continue and that is why I think it's important to throw your support behind the band and Emily and just go out there and see them when they're on tour buy their records you know let let's see where they go in this journey and I just want to say all the people that think like the whole opinion that Lincoln Park should stop just because Chester is no longer with us I think that sucks and that is my rant on that today guys anyway I hope you're all well thank you for listening to me and hearing me out take care of yourselves peace who this new [ __ ] Crusade New Wave new drip suitcas
