and they were never really threatening the second half England but actually how would you describe their performance in the second 45 minutes second performance it felt to me a little B like they took their foot off the gas a bit I feel maybe maybe because Island didn't they didn't come at them as I thought they would a bit more um positive I thought Agana done very well for him he tried I would like to have seen Ferguson maybe on earlier maybe he's got an injury but I thought for ink from England's point of view it's the kind of game the way we started and the way we played I thought we should have pressed it pressed it pressed it home a little bit more started in the same with the same intensity maybe see if you could get three or four and just go just play the game that way bit more ruthless it's a little bit that's been England's problem for a little bit has it they have a good 45 minutes but they don't kick on and make it a good 90 minutes necessarily yeah but the frustrating thing for today was Ireland were there for the take and England dominated the first half we we kind of Praise them their decision making their quality their movement that was the opposite for the second half I thought they were awful the second half players playing for themselves taking too many touches trying playing Ro or overover pass keep doing the basics and suck Ireland out but Ireland play with a lot of Pride obviously the second half but as good as England were the first half I thought they were just as bad the second half really players playing for themselves even the substitutions players stolling off showing a bit of arrogance there's a team there for the take in especially for the attacking players right if you're on that pitch you're thinking I've got chances here to go and score a goal let's hear from the goal scorers then Dean rice and Jack Gish both with Gabriel Clark this guys back in Ireland well first day of school for Le carsley as well I would imagine big sigh of relief from him at the end of this day as well because with the whole business of the national anthem he's he's learned quite a lot about what entails the England manager's job I think yes yes he has but like like he's shown before he's he's all business you know he's like he said he's he's focusing on the football maybe that's a bit of naivity in respect of what it what it takes to to be the England manager and what you need to be able to to deal with but in respects of the way the team started saying that he wants to see something different and he's we're going to see something different we did in the first half it was a lot sharper it was a lot quicker what I would like to have seen maybe the substitutes a little bit earlier but the second half wasn't as good simply because for whatever reason they took their foot off the gas island did get better but I I I do feel that we we're seeing something we're seeing something you just want to see that progress and in terms of his personality a couple of year old teammate said to me earlier he's a very funny man he's got a really good sense of humor there's nothing wrong on the first day of a new school of not giving it the big I am of just letting your car to come out slowly and gently but I would suggest that may be a good thing if that does happen he handled it well against all new twim again it had um problems this morning with silly headlines but he'd want his team to go and express themselves and they did that but like any man I be frustrated with the the second half performance but overall he'd be pleased I'm but he's glad to get out of the way he can now look forward to the game on Tuesday because it's not easy you know there different challenges for him even dealing with the media before the game after game stuff he's got to get used to but he he handled himself very very well there's one out standing player if it seems Ireland have up front Evan Ferguson and when he came on Sam said he hadn't played since March because of injury quite clearly they need him to be fit and regularly available if they're going to do anything in this group yeah there is obviously came on the scene but in the last 12 months he's had injuries particularly at Brighton but there's a lot of big expectations with Ireland I think it's about in Fair he's still a young player he's learn this trade but yeah listen there's big expectations for him and hopefully he can back it up the key for him is to stay fit and get playing games regularly and then he can have a big impact for Ireland just a word about Angel Gomez when he came on great again to see his just to see his beaming smile and there's an alternative maybe to a kobby Mayu isn't there possibly for England well yeah and what we saw is a very busy very confident capable player you know he's somebody that we we've seen he was what he was one of the players one of the main players in the inana 21 Euros win he's he's a player that's been playing for England since under 15 went across the LI from the M Manchester United Academy then you know he went to um was it in in Portugal B Vista B Vista played 30 games and then he's back to Li and it's one of the best players in respects of his chances created for them he deserves his call up he looked comfortable he did look comfortable you know especially when you Gareth did mention we haven't got a player of that character in England when he mentioned Carvin Phillips and he's there playing for the under 21's winning tournament so I'm really pleased for him that he got his chance absolutely well we're going out in Dublin I'm assuming if we say we're a friend of Roy Keane we're shown to the best bar in Dublin with the best seats expensive around here IDE
