Former ODU great Kayla Heineke knew the writing was on the wall when the Falcons not only signed her cousins but then drafted University of Washington quarterback Michael Pennix junior at this year's draft tonight. Atlanta trading the 31 year old to the L A Chargers where he'll join up with a fellow Monarch and former quarterback, Stone Smart who's now a converted tight end. Uh, that's according to several report, Heineke has played in 38 NFL games and making 29 starts during the regular season. He also started a playoff game when he was with Washington after the 2020 season. He then signed with the Falcons back in 2023 making it a homecoming of sorts for him. He grew up near Atlanta. Heineke went undrafted when he came out of old Dominion and spent short stints with the Panthers and Texans.
