[Music] all right it's time now for the game preview presented by Ticket Master here with head coach Kevin stansky Kevin one more preseason game before we get to that one though last week against the Vikings what are you guys able to accomplish in that one we got a lot of really good Reps for our young guys it really helps us in an evaluation standpoint we have a a lot of work out here on these practice fields but then to get some young players in game action has been really important especially in these last two games you had joint practices leading into that game how much of that were you able to translate on the field in a game setting it was outstanding work really on all sides of the ball I was really pleased with how uh the guys handled the week if you will going up against a really good football team I thought the the one-on-one matchups were were just outstanding and I when I say that I mean in the team drill you'd have a one-on-one but the true one-on-one reps when we broke out and said okay wide receiver versus DBS let's go o line versus dline those are some incredible reps uh that that you see and and you don't often see just a one-onone with that caliber of player uh in a given setting so that was great work for us we got situational football work and and we did it like I mentioned before we did it in a controlled setting right this last preseason game it's your first one on the road yeah it's important for us we we need that we need the Reps we need the Reps of getting on the airplane and and meeting at the hotel all of those things are just preparing us for the season I was going to ask that next I mean how much does this West Coast late night game kind of give you some some experience that you're preparing for that regular season travel it's important you have to go to all sorts of time zones uh you know we'll be out in Vegas we'll be out in Denver obviously this game out in Seattle uh we'll be traveling to Jacksonville in week two so all of it is really good to prepare our guys for really how we travel uh how we meet when we're at the hotel how we get to the stadium what we do when we're in the stadium just all those things are really important to get ready for the season I know you have said that you guys are going to evaluate guides on an individual basis in regards to who plays and how long they play but realistically on Saturday against the Seahawks how many starters do we expect to see out there yeah you'll see a bunch of starters and and really what we try and discuss as a staff is what do our players need to get ready for a 17 Game season uh and that's really where we start uh so some guys have played already this season uh some guys that will get out there on Saturday night and just uh really the number of plays is really based on what we think they need now the stars then will be out a little bit at least in Seattle then that's right all right so I know that uh Seattle's head coach Mike McDonald said that their focus is the defense and they want to make sure that they can improve that does that give you a challenge then on offense to give them some testing before that week one game well it's always a challenge when you're going up against coach McDonald he's a guy that we've gone against in Baltimore I have a ton of respect for him you can see already in their preseason games that Baltimore DNA and how they play and some of the schemes that he's used in his past so uh it's a great challenge for us uh we know the scheme is tough we know they have great players and then going on the road playing in in front of that crowd in that Stadium uh it's it's extremely loud so it allows us to work through our silent Cadence but all of it's a challenge that scheme those players and certainly that setting we know the preseason is really about figuring out things Shoring things up operationally what do you feel like your team has been able to accomplish in those first two and then what is left in this last one for you guys to shore up before the regular season well like you mentioned operation our defense when we're on the field uh at Cleveland Brown Stadium it's loud so our guys the first two got used to playing in front of our crowd and now in this last one we need our offense to get used to playing in that crowd noise so we'll do a lot of things out here in the practice settings of using crowd noise and using the silent count and now it's a matter of getting used to that in a game setting now the defense has been talking about how they feel like there was something left undone last year with the way they played on the road do you hear guys out there kind of getting excited for this one even though it's preseason to try to test that one out it's definitely something we've been talking about ever since April when we first got back together there are things that we feel like we can do better and and obviously these preseason games allow us to get some reps at those things so that's definitely something that that we're uh mindful of is going on the road and making sure that we bring our aame on the road I know this one's ahead of you but are you letting yourself get a little bit excited for that week one game back here in Cleveland OH without a doubt September 8th has been circled in the calendar for forever uh again I think back to May uh so well we we do a lot of work on Dallas back in the spring you do it you do work in the summertime so there's somebody that uh you always have an eye ey on uh as you're preparing your team so these these preseason games are important and we know that this regular season is getting ready to kick off pretty soon all right thanks so much coach safe travels and good luck on Saturday thanks again [Music] [Applause]
