1918 World Series | Today in History - September 1st - 11th

if you're in tune with baseball you know that there are many number of games that have to be played in order to determine who will be eligible to play in the postseason much less the World Series well these days the seasons usually end in September and goes on to the World Series being played much later after many games that are played to determine the best teams in the National League and also in the American League well to make a long story short there's only one year in baseball where an entire world series would take place in the month of September this happened on September 1st of 1918 a new order of player fight had been issued due to World War I so it was either go to war and fight and then have the time in future years to be able to play the game or not go to war and lose the chance in the years to come to play the game of baseball interestingly enough the first game of the series would Mark the first baseball game at which the star spangle Banner was sung before the first pitch and who knew that it would become a tradition and be sung at every single game in America before play has begun so a little bit of History a little bit of baseball and a whole lot of fun for everyone [Music]
