Episode 31: Spiderman News, Josh Brolin Not Green Lantern, Happy Gilmore 2 + More

hello everyone and welcome back to the flash yyt podcast in today's episode we have a lot of movie news to talk about um so much that I can't even really do a long intro because we're just going to get right into it so here we go all right so starting off obviously last time I did a movie news episode we had heard that Josh broin had been offered the role of Hal Jordan in the lters series well now reportedly he has passed on it not report he has which means that he was offered that was real Josh BR has passed on playing H Jordan which means he will not be playing hell Jordan which means Matthew mccon or you mcregor could be next but is a very popular Fan cast and that is on Chris Pine so yeah uh Josh BR has passed who would you like to play hell Jordan in the lantern show let me know in the comments below also tell me your thoughts on movie news in the comments below now apparently the memory spell from Spider-Man no way home there's a lot of Spider-Man news in this episode so you're just going to have to deal with a lot of it I'll get all the Spider-Man stuff out of the way now and then I'll get into other stuff but um yeah the memory spell from no way home will be explored more and eventually it will be broken which I kind of hope that wouldn't happen um this is from the cosmic Circus by the way um who has been reliable in the past this hasn't comeing from like one of the scooper accounts who have scooper in their name because if you find an account on Twitter that has scooper in their name it means they're not a scooper it just means they want attention because if they're really a scooper they would be taken down but yes um apparently the memory spell would be broken and explored more I don't know what explored more means like what more could you do with that I guess to hold back all the multiversal events but if it's broken they're all going to come through so what's going to happen in the next few Spider-Man movies or the next Avenger movies I don't know and now another Spider-Man thing Spider-Man 4 is reportedly set to focus on a street level story while incorporating some multiversal elements now we have heard um rumors from not really reliable sources but some reliable sources that SP 4 is going to take place on Battle World which means that they could bring in Tom Venom and Drew Garfield Spider-Man and Tom to McGuire Spider-Man cuz Sony knows they make money and Sony basically own Spider-Man so they have to tell Mar what to do so yeah that's what Spiderman for probably going to be about so which means it probably isn't going to take place in battle world but some stuff that happens in probably Avengers doomsday has some stuff cross over there so speaking of Avengers Secret Wars um Avengers Secret Wars may possibly Fe this also the cosmic circus Avengers Secret Wars may possibly Fe feature a connection or nod to the spiderverse films um now a connection or notd I wouldn't take it as Miles Morales is showing up I wouldn't take that as Miguel O'Hara showing up if any of the characters from The spiderverse F films are showing up I think it has to be Spider-Man 2099 butel just because he looks the most like Oscar Isaac um obviously there's variant we're to get our own MCU miles in in the future on MCU spider Gwen um possibly I don't really know about that one though probably get quen Stacy though in the MCU but yeah if I think connection or not could just like be a reference to like uh this is like what happened um in Universe whatever because like they could reference M Mar's universe or mention the spider Society I feel like that's what it's going to be but if there is a character shows up I think it's going to be Spider-Man 2099 which would be very cool to see him in live action um I have other stuff noted down okay here we go I'm still going for the Spider-Man stuff here so this is for beyond the spiderverse um there was a lot of stuff said about beyond the spiderverse that turned out to not be true um the things that were said was um from I don't know who it's from I'm reading it off discussing film but they leak they link somebody else so I don't I don't really know who it's properly from I'm not going to blame disgusing film though they were just saying what they were told um but son Sony this is what it says Sony reportedly scrapped most of beyond the spiderverse for Creative reasons the film is unlikely to releasee before 2027 now when I read this I read this when I first cuz it was like 8: in the morning when I read this all right I was getting up early in the morning I'd read it I but I didn't read it as reportedly scrapped most I read it as Sony has reportedly scrapped beyond the spiderverse and my heart sank I was like no you cannot just live on a cliffhanger like that but no I said we probably most um on the 27 27 thing that could still be true we don't know I'm I'm 90% sure it's going to come out in 2026 but um I feel like we're leaning more to was 2027 cuz I think if it's 2026 we would have a confirmation by now but we don't we have no idea what it's coming out um so yeah but that was said and then a few hours afterwards um it was then debunked by the composer Daniel penberton and then later even more debunked by um I think it's Chris mandry um sorry I'm mispronouncing that name or if I'm getting it wrong but somebody who makes spiders films one of the directors I think um but this is the composer Daniel pton he he debunks um last night the reports about beyond the spiderverse what he said was would you ever believe there could sometimes sometimes be stuff on the internet that might not always be particularly accurate which people took that as a debunking was like okay we'll move on and then later on it was fully fully debunked um so yeah that was some nice news now Sony hasn't reportedly scrapped most of it um I still think it might just come out in 2027 though early 2027 I'd like to say but I don't know we really don't know what these movies um and I think that is nope that is not all the Spider-Man new we have one more thing two more things about Spider-Man three more things about Spider-Man to talk about so let's just run through them real quick we have the director confirmed for Spider-Man 4 we know who's going to be directing it um and the director nobody I don't think anyone guessed this before but des and Daniel kenon who you don't know he directed shangi which I think is um probably the second best Marvel movie of phase 4 um right obviously below no white home yeah I think yeah I was think what is in phase four well I kind of switch around on my two and three place for phase 4 um I think in second place it's tied between wakanda forever and shangi but um if I had to say it would be third W under forever second Shang CH but that could change any day um but yeah he directed shangi and he's directing Spider-Man 4 confirmed and it's eyeing to begin filming in early 2025 which means they're rushing this I hope it's not a rushed movie I want it to be good uh if they have a director I'm going to assume they already have a script written um and also we we got confirmed that Tom holl and are returning so maybe the spell will be broken in this one or she might just be a cameo in it but I don't think they'd announce her to be in it if she wasn't a big role in it that they wouldn't announce who aam is you know that's like saying if Ching Titan was going to be in Deadpool and Wolverine or not spoiler so spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine by way it's been out for almost two months now it's in the TV spots as well I'm not R I'm not doing anything wrong but yeah Destin Daniel Kon he I love what he did with Shang Chi and I'm going to be very looking forward to seeing what he does with um Spider-Man um now the second last thing we have for Spiderman is not to do with Tom Holland and is to do it Spider-Man nowh or spider Noir um as you know I haven't reported about this before but as you should know we're getting a spider Noir series a live action one with Nicholas Cage playing spider spider nowhere in live action which be so cool to see because of was you know he was the voice of him in into the spiderverse and hopefully beyond the spiderverse now we don't know if it's the same character or if it's a very of Spider-Man nowhere but um yeah we're getting a live action show of that and we have now been told who will be playing the villain or a villain in it some are saying it's a villain some are saying it's the main villain of the show but um the person who's going to be if not the main villain a villain in it be played by Brendan Gleason um who's been in the T ton of movies before he's Irish just like me I'm pretty sure he's Irish if I'm getting that wrong please correct me but I think he's Irish just like me so yeah Brendon gleon is going to be he's officially cast as a villain in the spider Series so be excited to see who he plays there now this oh my God I'm so sorry guys we have two more things Spider-Man to talk about I'm sorry all right this is the last two things um I'll talk with the actual Spider-Man then I'm going to get into Venom um but this is for Andrew Garfield Spider-Man he was asked if there are more stories to explore with his version of Spider-Man which I hope there is I want aasm 3 I'm Andrew Gord is my favorite Spider-Man um so I'd always want more from him and I think the tasma movies are overheated I love them but yeah he was asked if there's any more stories to explore with his Spider-Man and he said it's kind of endless what can be done it's kind of an what what can be done with that character not that we should not that we will but you can always find another story to tell that's all he said that's all I'm gonna say but hopefully that he was also asked if he's coming back in Spider-Man 4 he said um that some stuff in the Internet isn't true which not anything against him like said he's a favorite Spider-Man I hope he isn't in Spiderman 4 I hope they save him and Toby for Secret Wars if not doomsday so yeah cuz apparently deadp will window is a rumor of them showing up in Doom Doomsday which I would love but yeah now on to the actual final Spider-Man news of the day um it's venom for Venom the Last Dance um not a lot of news but the trailer the the final trailer for Venom the Last Dance is coming out tomorrow the fact is this only has two trailers kind of worries me not going to lie I love the Venom movies but the fact it only has two trailers kind of worries me but yeah we're getting the final trailer for Venom the last dance tomorrow so on Friday you can hear me talk about it um I'll have also a lot to talk about on Friday not movie news but for the Channel's future so stay tuned for Friday but yeah now on to stuff that isn't Spider-Man um starting with terier 3 um terier 3 in America we're not getting them here in cinar apparently in proberbly AMC in America so if you live in America is for you um there's been a popcorn bucket of AR the Clown's head revealed um you can look up yourself like I always say you know this is this is the podcast it's not a regular movie news channel but yeah you can look up for yourself the terrifi your popcorn bucket and it's just art the Clown's head and you can open it up and put your popcorn inside I wish we had popcorn booklets over here in Ireland but we don't um we don't have any special ones I don't think we have we get the paper boxes we get the paper boxes we don't get the don't get the high quality popcorn buget stuff that Americans do so I want some of that over here America share bring a cinemar over here bring an AMC over here I know popcorn buckets are very expensive apparently but I I want some you know it be cool to have them here when I'm going to see terrifier 3 on October 11th I can sit down my AR the clown popcorn book ahead there's start out it I can't do that cuz I'm not in America so okay that's it for the Teri 3 news um we also got our first look at the Young Sheldon spin-off show spinoff a spin-off it's called um Georgie and Mandy's first marriage I haven't spoken about this before I don't think but we got our first look at I'm a big fan of young Sheldon um I found the finale to be upsetting well not the finale the penultimate episode of the show where obviously it's George's funeral um so I found that sad so I'm looking forward to Georgie and my's first marriage um cuz Georgie is my second favorite character was George but then second place is Georgie so yeah I'm looking forward to um georg's first manage we got our first look which is of course like I just said it's mostly just Georgie and Mandy but then we see Mandy's parents as well and I think in another image that I can't see here I think they also reveal look at um MIMA in it I think she's only going to be in though now moving on to Dune news um I have not I've seen the first dune I watched it a few months ago and I didn't like it I didn't like the first D and I I thought that was an unpopular opinion but then I was told no a lot of people don't like the first one and I was like but it gets the do movies get such praise but I found out that apparently Dune part two is amazing yeah I've been told the Doom part two is amazing um I haven't watched Doom part 2 yet because of how that Don I was with first dune um but I am planning on watching part two I don't know when but now we have the news that Doom part 3's script is in the works Dennis vill V I don't know how to say it sorry I'm definitely butchering that I'm sorry but yeah Dennis V reveals who was director after do movies has revealed that the script for Doom 3 is in the works so that's I'm sure it's exciting for people who have seen Doom part two as well I'm I'm not very excited I'll watch Doom part two soon whenever I do I'll let you guys know when I watch it maybe when this starts filming I'll I'll watch it and then I'll be like oh this was actually amazing I've been missing out on this or I'll just be like it's just like the first one but yeah Doom part 3 script isn't the works now moving to Peacemaker news Peacemaker season 2 um lot of controversy about this but I not bad not bad stuff but like people not being excited for it um but apparently Peacemaker season 2 will officially release in the second half of 2025 um three years over three years after the first season still excited though still very excited for peacemaking cuz the first season was it was humorous and it was also emotional appar and it was really good to watch now moving on to our final two topics this is the second last one this will revealed this morning ice age 6 is in the works now I I love the Ice Age movies I love them but do we need a sixth one no I remember years ago on like sketchy websites I would see ice ag6 the kidnapping and I would think it's real obviously now I I would say that and go oh that's not real but back when I was after watching collision course I would see oh my God I hat the kidnapping who is who's getting kidnapped it's not real but um there's a reason I'm not very excited for this I'm excited but I'm not very excited and that's because Disney shut down Blue Sky Blue Sky Studios is no longer a thing so it's is just being distributed by Disney so yeah uh that's why I'm kind of like hopefully they can capture the essence of the other movies you know so hopefully but yeah because like I just said I'm not very excited because Blue Sky Studios is shut down and we kind of got an ending to the ice AG movies because when Blue Sky Studio shut down they released a little clip on YouTube of scrap finally getting the acorn finally eating it and it was like it was a nice goodbye to their franchise but they're bringing it back cuz it makes money they had a Disney plus movie The Book movie a few years ago but I didn't watch it apparently it was terrible now moving on to our final topic of the episode um Happy Gilmore 2 casting news we have officially the full cast right here so I'm going to read out the cast to you Adam Sandler Christopher McDonald Julie Bowen Benny safy Nick wartson Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny that is the cast of Happy Gilmore obviously we knew Adam was returning it was pretty good guess that Julie Bowen was really great to see Christopher McDonald's back um the iconic lion IE pieces are [ __ ] like you for breakfast you e pieces of [ __ ] for breakfast no one of the greatest lines of all time I'm so GL glad to see him back I didn't know B Bonny was going to be in this I don't think that's been reported before even how I obviously missed it but yeah that is all our news for this podcast episode um yeah I'll see you guys on Friday for my Venom the
