college football is set to begin this coming Saturday August the 24th and I'm pretty damn excited about it and I hope you are as well as a matter of fact I'm so excited I'm going to talk about a game that's going to go the following week on Saturday August the 31st a premier matchup between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Texas A&M Aggies that game will be played in College Station uh and it will be kicked off at 7:30 p.m. eastern time and nationally televised on ABC right now as we speak Texas an I'm is a two and a half Point favorite and the total is 46 and a half uh just keep in mind folks I am recording currently today is uh Monday August the 18th 19th excuse me and uh this game doesn't go for another 12 days so those the side and the total uh our subject to change depending on Notre Dame Texas A&M just uh gave you all the particulars Notre Dame returns nine starters on defense uh from a season ago and that that was from a team that went 10 and three and also a defense that allowed 20 points or fewer in nine of their 13 games last year overall Notre Dame allowed just 15.9 points per game a season too and that ranked seventh nationally in scoring defense and again they returned nine starters from that team a season ago and as you well know with a lot of these top programs like Notre Dame it uh annually have one of the best recruiting classes in the nation uh it's not like their uh cupboard was is ever left dry and uh you know when you have nine returning starters and with that in mind I I uh go out on a limb and say Notre Dame is going to be at least at the very least the top 20 scoring defense this year now Notre Dame will have for the second consecutive year brings in a transfer quarterback uh to be their starter Riley Leonard who spent uh the uh first four years of his career over at Duke will be come over and is pencil or not pencil then but is slated to beater starter and that's significant why well because the head his head coach the last two years at Duke uh is Mike Elco and Mike Elco is now the head coach over at Texas A&M so nobody knows Riley Leonard much better in all the college football than Mike Elco Mike Elco has made his reputation on the defensive side a ball throughout his colle uh College head co or college coaching career uh Elco as a matter of fact last year with Duke uh the Blue Devils were very good defensively they allowed 21 points or fewer in 10 of 13 games last year and uh he brings in the fourth ranked transfer portal class in all of college football at in College Station this season and prior to that transfer portal classes uh some defensive players and in addition to the fact that uh Texas A&M uh returns I believe nine players on the defensive side of the ball this year so uh again a lot shapes up to be a very good defense for Texas A&M once again as a matter of fact in an offseason interview Elco went out on a limb and says this defense at Texas A&M for the upcoming season has the be has the potential to be the best defense he's ever coached so I'm looking for this to be a low-scoring affair it's opened at 49 it came down to 46 and a half I still think there's value on the under here of course not as much value as if you would have got in on the opening number but I don't see this uh this total going up uh substantially if if at all and if anything I could see it going down to uh in the 44 and a half range so I would say that if you can get anywhere from 4 45 and above on this total that jump all over it folks depending again depending on when you view this video that these the line is subject to change the line I'm talking about right now is 46 and a half so I'm going to go Texas A&M and Notre Dame Under 46 and a half on Saturday August the 31st in college football um
