David Bakhtiari possible signing/ Why hasn't Caleb Williams been signed yet

former you know longtime uh op Green Bay Packers yeah he's a Green Bay Packers op Green Bay Packers um offensive lineman David bakari um of course you know he's been dealing he's had like two surgeries two ACL surgeries um you know he's been dealing with injuries and um and we don't know if he he's not going to be the same player that he was of course you know with his injuries but um uh the GM um Ryan poles was all looking into getting uh David bryar and possibly trying to bring more competition um to that left tackle position um as well but uh Chuck uh what do you think about this you know um the Chicago Bull I said Chicago Bear is possibly looking to I'm feeling you brother draft and all that just happened PS and traed there a lot going on in Chicago a lot going what about what what what has been aing the Bears for God knows the last 15 during 20 years years or almost uh since 2006 the 2006 season is our offensive line we have not had a stout offensive line and that is a recipe for disaster for any uh uh offense any quarterback any running game that's trying to get going any passing game that's trying to get going for any team um so I love I love the Advent or bringing in David uh barari barari or however you say his name for bringing David in and for bringing this other guy uh for bringing other uh I I like what they doing on the defensive end too let me let me getting ahead of myself but let me come on back here but yeah I I love that they're bringing this guy in because you're talking about a season veteran an all proo a guy who knows how to push the envelope of young guys you know he went a guy like this is gonna come in and even though he's been aing from injuries of late this guy is going to come in and he's really going to press he's going to push the envelope and this is what we need uh uh this is what the the Chicago Bears offensive line need we need somebody that's gonna push us that's gon to make us come to play it can't be a thing that you're sitting around here resting on your laurels now you really gotta you know roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty you gotta dig in the mud and really prove that you belong on this offensive line can't be a kick walk thing and I love that I think that's what the Bears offensive line has been missing for years bro it's been missing the Advent of competition you know what I mean on on that offensive line uh plus you know I felt like guys you know have like really like taken the job for granted you know uh uh Sam muster you know not to P pile on to him but I really didn't think that that guy was working hard Larry boram has too many plays that he's taking off for me bro SE yeah he he takes a lot of plays off yeah i' seen a lot of guys come go on this offensive line uh uh uh what's his name Riley last name rileyy re Riley Reef yeah these guys they they did not show up to play and the Bears spent high draft capital on a lot of these guys bro this was a high draft Capital that they spent trying to get cats in here who can anchor this offensive line and thus far they haven't done so you know I I don't know if it's just our our picks you know and maybe we we we not reading the room right when we look at these guys or what but but but to get back to the question this this is very good for the Chicago Bears to have the offensive line push like this bro you know what I mean you you need somebody that that can get behind him and let let them know hey look you don't do your job I'm here with waiting willing and ready to take this job from you know I'm ready to do this you know so so yeah I'm not mad at it bro not at all bro yeah definitely um yeah man um I definitely think there there definitely needs to be some competition in a left tackle uh position I mean primarily um you know with Braxton Jones you know him dealing with his injuries not only left tackle I think you know with with Tevin Jenkins you know he's been solid you know I think he's been one of the best um right uh uh offensive lineman on our team but you know um there's questions over there you know because of his injuries as well and even at sometimes he's had some struggles um in regards to pass blocking you know specifically you know with all the top you know um left guards in on the NFL um based on what he's been doing in his production he's kind of struggled a bit you know and pass blocking you know like I said it's also been you know due to him dealing with some with some injuries specifically you know with his lower back you know and all that you know I think you know there's definitely needs to be some type of um some competition there I think really the only one I'm I'm really you know kind of um I'm really comfortable with was the right tack you know with with Darnell right I think Dar right he's definitely gonna get better you know with the right tackle position but it's just you know the left tackle the left guard the center and um the right guard position because I think those we need to create a lot of competition you know between all those positions um you know aside from the right tackle position co co I was I was astonished to find this out but PFF actually had uh Darnell Wright and uh Bron Jones rated extremely high in terms of left tackles and right tackles and I didn't realiz you know from the it test I didn't realize that these guys were actually living up to building like they were because you know I'm sitting here you know and I'm looking at the it test of how it's happening in real time but according to PFF stats Braxton Jones actually played pretty good man in comparison to what I thought he was doing uh Darnell Wright I expected him to have some hiccups he's a rookie so you know got some rookie Growing Pains he's got to go through so I wasn't so blown away by the fact that you know he might not have performed at the highest level but Braxton Jones I was really surprised I thought he was having a bad year I'm i g tell you No Lie co I thought he was having a bad year but according to PFF and the and the stats and the standings that they have him man he really didn't have that bad a year they had him rated like the the uh number 11 uh 11 offensive uh uh ends you know if you will you know the uh offensive uh guards tack whatever yeah but they had them they had them rated pretty high had them pretty high claws up there okay Ron r I see what you doing BS up be down bro but yeah um yeah I mean based on the ite test I mean based on from what I've seen I mean I saw a lot of struggles I mean like I mean I mean Braxton Jones I mean his first year started all 17 games 2022 he started all 17 games and then um this past year I believe he missed like four or five games but I mean during the games that he did start I mean he's always struggle with the pass blocking you know and and the bull rush like I mean like I mean there's I could name you a certain number of games he did struggle you know with the Packers game I mean the Saints game there a couple games where he really did struggle you know in terms of pass blocking and that's where I'm that's why I'm pretty I'm pretty stunned to see you know PF to have him rated so high I really there bro I really didn't think that he was there but they said you know um offensive line was like ranked 11th you know and and and and they're attributing a lot of that to Braxton Jones um um Darnell Wright and to Tevin Jenkins so you know they they said our our offensive line really wasn't that bad not as bad as and it makes sense when I think about it co because we did have a big turnaround in the second half of the season the team did turn around we started off abysmal but we had a big turnar around the second half of the season and and that didn't just happen because Justin Fields legs was Dynamite or you know or receivers making phenomenal catches or the running game exploded all over the place that was a combination effort you know it was a team effort for that to start happening the defense got got his SE legs under it the offensive line got his SE legs under it and before you know it we hit the ball rolling bro we hit the ground running after that you know it just got started late you know right and um but I mean like I said we're gonna I mean definitely uh competition definitely breeds success for I mean I do like it you know but um and also I mean I know we already talked about this Conor Williams I know um the Bears are kind of still in on on Conor Williams I think definitely if we were able to bring in Conor Williams it'll definitely upgrade um that Center position like like I said he was um rated um the second best uh Center um this past year right behind Frank R now he graded out at 86.5 his pass blocking was 71.7 and his run blocking was a 90.5 so um I mean where he from again huh PFF where's Conor from again no I said where's Conor Williams from again I mean I mean like what team was he playing with last year he yeah I remember this discussion in here so are we still discussions with him about this guy or I mean because there hasn't been really up in the there hasn't been too much news about him I mean there's some reports saying the Bears are still in on him but I mean based on him and his age there hav't been really been too much talks between the both parties between his agent and the Chicago Bears but um According to some reports the Bears are still you know trying to see if they could sign you know Conor Williams um I mean nothing nothing yet but I mean hopefully in the next couple weeks you know Conor Willi might be signed hopefully by next month but we have to see okay okay okay how do you feel about that Co do you like do you like the the addition I would like the signing I would love it because he would definitely be an upgrade um over what we have between Coleman Shelton and Ryan Bates uh I mean like I said he was okay I think he would be I know that I know that Ryan poles was really big ran when he got drafted two years ago by the Buffalo Bills he actually wanted this guy even back then you know and so for him to get him I I believe that that's a win-win situation in his mind in his mind you know coming away with the guy that he wanted from the word go um um so Colonel Williams I don't know if I don't know much about him kof is he a versatile type of offensive line can he can he play multiple positions on the offensive line or is he a stationary you know like um anchor at a particular position I believe he can play multiple positions but primarily um he uh plays like uh he plays a center because last year I believe how many U he played yeah he played prier primarily 409 snaps um okay under Center yeah warn you the N snaps now does he play center what does he play bro yeah he plays center he plays a center position okay okay so Coleman Shelton yeah put your hard head on bro have some competition coming in here and David plays center too correct yeah yeah but Ryan Ryan Bates he can also play The Right Guard he can play guard or center right right right now I'm thinking about David bard bardio har say this guy's name yeah I was thinking about him you know in terms of him playing Center does he play center or is he just a guard wait who David David Bard oh he plays left tackle he played The Tackle position he plays tackle so so he plays what Braxton Jones plays ah okay okay now we getting somewhere let's let's push that envelope uh I guess statistically PFF can say that you know rexon Jones had a pretty good year but I'm sorry with my eye test I didn't see that I did not see this Good Year BR I didn't see it at all you know so I I I love the idea that you know we will be uh bringing in we're possibly thinking to bring in more competition at these positions if you want an offensive line or any position in the NFL you want if you want these players to play at a high level you've got to let them know that there is some competition coming behind them that could possibly uproot them if they're not performing well you know so so you want to push them you want to push them to make sure that they understand that this is not a guarantee given that you're going to be in this position you know it's not a walk in the park you're not gonna come here and just hold up a spot hold up a roster spot you know say like one bronnie James oh yeah we not gonna get into that I'm sorry Lakers fans I had to take a shot at you yeah yeah but but yeah we don't want these guys feeling comfortable thinking they just gonna take a r yeah but Conor Williams He graded out last year as a number two uh position and with him um with the Miami Dolphins the Miami Dolphins were one of the best um offenses in um the NFL um they graded out number one in passing yards um they gred out um top five in um um run block and pass blocking you know with him in um in the lineup and of course what do you think is what do you think is the hold up in with him getting signed somewhere is it just the money I guess because of his injuries that's just that's really a concern because I I a lot of teams out here that is willing to pay the money bro if it's a money thing for because I believe he only had what one major injury if I'm not mistaken that was this this past year you know but I mean other than that I mean yeah they're they're really looking at that you know um I mean a lot of teams are just looking at I'm not sure what's going on but I'm assuming that the sticky Point may have something to do with him wanting maybe multiple years he probably wants more money from than what he's what he's I think I think if he was a number two rated offensive lineman you know according to P I mean I think he should I think he can get the money I don't think the moneyyy is an issue it may be a thing of of Years bro you know the years on the contract you know how many years is he looking for maybe he wants a four or five year deal that nobody's willing to give him that you know what I mean maybe everybody's a little afraid because of the injury that happened they don't know how he's gonna recover how he's gonna rebound or whatever you maybe they only want to give him one year two years Max you know or something like that you know so that's what I'm thinking that could be the hold up yeah but uh but I I do like the addition of any additional offensive lineman I don't think right now coach we can get enough offensive Lin stock pile stock pile stock pile stock pile that's what we need to do bro that's what we need to do I feel like the Bears have always traditionally done that on defense we stock by linebackers we stock by our defensive lineman we stock by you safeties and Corners you know we we stock by them so we don't ever have a problem or a missing piece of the puzzle so to speak on defense uh offensively we've not done that bro people think that our defensive line is gonna falter like they only think that Montes W is gonna um really be the only one that's gonna pass us people don't believe I think people are putting their Laurels on uh I mean this team is putting their Laurels on you know the Javon Dexter to take the next big jump um I mean Demarcus Walker I mean Demarcus Walker he did have a down year but I mean I think he's kind of solid I mean with him yeah but but they signed him to be an edge rusher and they found out he was a Ed he's not a true Edge he's more of a DT but he is versatile he can you can move him around on that defensive line and he can play bro he could play and he got his fair share of sacks in there too bro you know but you you come from a bad team like the Tennessee Titans defensively you know anything you do over there would make you look spectacular he probably was the best defender that they had on that defense that defense was abysmal bro so him getting 10 sacks on it look that's kind of surprising because they had Jeffrey Jeffrey Simmons and we already I mean yeah well so you got a defense with two guys showing up I mean you know that secondary was horrendous it was horrific that was terrible secondary my man terrible secondary you know but um but yeah I I I still like Demarcus Walker for the Bears and for what he brings to the table he does bring productivity to the table so I'm feeling him being here I don't have a problem with him you know being here um I just think you know but for the ners who really thinks that this whole defense is hanging his at solely and strictly on Montes sweat's production uh you got a big surprise coming this year you know Mart s got it going true and all he was a a Cornerstone piece for our defense but bro he was not the all in all of the defense you know he came he brought pressure and that got everybody else to go this is a great defense hear me good people this is not a good defense this is a great defense and we're going to see it we saw it for the second half of the year for the last eight games of the Season we're gonna see it for the entire season I believe this year that's kind of like the 2017 2017 2018 Chicago Bears defense like the second half of the Season like they started getting it going and then after the acquisition of us trading for khil Mack that's when you saw everybody like like just take off you know I think that's almost similar to uh uh this this this team you know second half of the Season 13 and three that year 13 and three nasty Team bro nasty yeah the second half of the Season you know we started um you know uh taking off you know after we got the addition of Montes W and you're definitely going to see a surprise I mean you're definitely going to see a jump you know for uh um from dvon Dexter him primarily playing the three technique and you're also going to have uh um contributions from Zack Pickins you know the uh Demarcus Walker um rashim green all these other guys and you know um and if we also sign you know yanuk and G yannik and G um being on the team you know they report saying that he's in the um Chicago Bears uh training camp um you know that's what's up I'm not mad at that if we bring him back bro not mad that you saw what what yanuk Kaka was doing you know after we got um Montes W he had like uh I believe two sacks two or three sacks after we got um montz before he had his injuries you know I mean that was his his lowest production you know this guy has always been a eight plus nine plus 10 plus sack type of guy you know prior to his injuries and so um when you have a a decently healthy you know um yanuk and gwe you know with the addition of Montes W you know during those situational pass rush situation is definitely gonna help um you know boost the team and so I think this this defense is definitely gonna take a step forward I'm not too worried about this defense um you know um taking a step back or saying oh if Montes wets gets hurt oh this defense is gonna take a a dip no I don't believe that I think this defense is going to be all right you know but um also dude I also kind of wanted to talk about um DeAndre Swift you know uh people don't really understand how much of an underrated signing um this running back was you know uh us getting um DeAndre Swift you know um I watched a little bit of the Chicago uh Bears now you know with Harrison Graham and he talked about like how underrated the DeAndre Swift signing was and how I think he's going to they're saying that he's going to be in Elite back this this upcoming season that he's really gonna um especially with the pass catching this guy um DeAndre Swift he's averaged uh at least 39 catches and this past season he's um he's had over 1,200 scrimmage yards um what do you think uh about you know um this I've always I've always thought DeAndre Swift to be a high-end Talent at running back in the NFL he's very gifted he's a very gifted athlete this dude is super fast Uber quick he has Vision like you wouldn't believe to hit hit a hole beat a Defender break an ankle you know this guy's got electric moves man he he he he he's I I would liken him if he can stay healthy to I would like to liken him to a poor man's Reggie Bush if you would you know he he puts me in the mind of a Reggie Bush type of player where you know he can really be electric he can be a a high productive type of guy excuse me and he can be explosive bro I think this guy you know he's a touchdown waiting to happen like that bro I think this guy could blow a play up in a heartbeat I honestly think that he blow a play up in a heartbeat um but but he's um he's one of those players that uh I could I say uh he's just got to stay healthy bro he's got to stay healthy if if if Swift can stay healthy the sky the limit for what this guy can be for this Bears offense I think what the Bears were hoping to catch in khil Herbert which is a lightning in the bottle type of situation I think they got that lightning in the bottle with uh de DeAndre Swift if he stays healthy the big if on him is his health can this guy stay healthy can he stay upright if he can stay upright he can stay healthy the Bears got them a winning piece here bro they definitely got a winning piece two can be dynamic the only thing that he lacks in is uh uh pass protection you know he's not a good blocker not a good blocker got phenomenal Runner he has great field Vision he has phenomenal hands he can run routes this dude can do it all man he can do it all only thing he likes is is the pass blocking AB you know but other than that this guy is great this guy's great so if you were if you were uh Shane walren right and um what kind kind of uh plays would you use uh DeAndre Swift and like what type of plays would you use him in like in terms of like maybe pass catching or whatever or like let's say see that's the thing about a player like that's the thing about a player like DeAndre Swift he takes the lid off of your offensive Playbook you can run anything with this guy out there man you know long as it's not requiring him the pass block which you're not gonna want him to do anyway this is a pass catcher not a pass blocker this guy is going to allow you to try and do every freaking thing that's in the Playbook there are no limitations with a talent like him coming out the back field bro you can try it all bro let's go for it you know if you want to line him up and put him in the slot and have him to run a deep post or something to see if he can beat the defense he can do that too this guy's got phenomenal speed bro got phenomenal speed as long as he's catching these passes and his hands are good sky's the limit for what we can do with him gu's living for what we can do with him uh Daman says Daman hey what's going on Dam he said I wish the would kept foring I think he's a better running back than Swift um it depends Daman uh uh and welcome to the show bro it depends on on uh what you're looking for out of your running back if you're speaking in terms of a traditional style running back I'm inclined to slightly agree with you you know because he can run in the he can run in between the tackles you know he's a physical guy talking about Deontay Foreman this dude can he can Maul you so to speak you know he he he he's a he's a mutter as uh uh Jerome Bettis would say he can go in the trenches he can get you two yards in a cloud of dust can get you two yards all day if he needs to where whereas DeAndre Swift he's explosive bro this is a big play weight in the happen you put that ball in his hand he may not break through that line every time but once he gets a break he's going 80 yards bro this dude is going 90 yards for a touchdown this dude is a home run waiting to happen every single time with DeAndre Swift so you know I I did like uh I'm with you I did like uh Deontay Foreman too I wanted the Bears to keep him but I'm not mad at the addition of of of DeAndre Swift here plus you got to keep in mind too Damian that we do have Roshan Johnson which is a hard noosed tough skinned Runner that blocks very well too coming out that back field also you we talking about a second year a second year player here bro so and I believe last year d uh uh DeAndre Swift he was top five in 20 yards uh plus an explosive yards um because what would be nice if if you wouldn't mind bro if you got the time if you could pull up DeAndre Swift's numbers from last year so the Bears fans can see you know what this guy was actually doing on the field I I thought he had a great year for Phil I thought he was spectacular M and the thing I was looking for was to see if he could stay healthy and lo and behold he pulled it off bro he stayed healthy for the majority of the year yeah I'm gonna pull it up see if I can U yeah yeah so so yeah I don't think we lose anything by giving up Deontay foran and going to Swift bro you know the only thing Deontay Foreman may bring to the table a little better than Swift is pass block other than that Swift can do pretty much everything he does and then some the pass blocking and you know running in the trenches you know I I don't really see Swift as no no power you run you over type of guy not saying he's never done that but it's not his Forte it's not it's not what he's gonna do it's not what he's here for is not his Matt Forte how about that I'll be reference Matt Forte yeah and um what else we we were gonna talk about oh yeah also um the Hard Knock Saga let's talk about the Hard Knock Saga with Williams and radun yes yes I wanted to get to that too um I wanted to get to that whole contract situation um why uh Caleb Williams and why Roman dun hasn't been signed yet um I mean there's a whole lot of speculation I think um How many rookies has I think there's been five rookies has been signed yet um so far um get to a rookie why do you think that is bro what do you think's going on with that bro um I I I I really can't give you a specific guess on why um but based on the reports I think they're trying to wait until uh they uh Premiere the Chicago Bears episode of Hard Knox you know before he could sign you know I guess because they're trying to waiter Co that's what I was gonna say too yeah yeah I I do believe it's just a whole Ploy You Know Drama to make people watch to see you know what's going on with the Bears you know so we got to keep up with Hard Knocks to see why Caleb Williams is a sign R Roman dun is a sign I honestly believe this is more on the Bears than it is on those players not wanting to sign right away because you know the rookie the rookie uh H contracts they're Capp so all you can do is give him whatever the max ceiling is for the rookie contract there's no other way that you can you know Foster any other kind of any other kind of money legally you know we gon put out that legally that kayada Williams and Roman Dooms they can get in a rookie contract so it's already CA they're going to get the max whatever that contract is uh the only reason I could see the whole especially them being first round picks they're going to get the cap I mean they're going to get the highest Max they're gonna get the maximum yeah the the only thing I could see as to the reason why you know they're there is no signing right now it's just saving it for the show BR to make a big to-do about it so to speak you know you know because there there there's nothing Caleb Williams or romad Dunes they they don't stand to gain anything by holding out at this point it'd be different if they stood to gain something but there's nothing there and they're holding out but they're not not holding out they're not gonna hold out right right right right right and and that's why I'm saying it like that you know some people would think they could possibly be holding out for more money it's impossible for them to hold out for more money on the rookie contracts the only thing I can see that could be an issue that could be a sticking point possibly is the number of years that the contract is for you know some some rookie contracts are three years some rookie contracts are four years if it's a situation where they don't want to be under four-year contract that's what the Bears want them to do and you know they wanted to be three years then I could see that becoming an issue you know but but I really don't get the sense that either of these guys even have that in mind right now they they just want to play football bro these guys are ready to go yeah they're just waiting for for a training camp to start I mean I really think they're waiting it's like they're not missing a beat yeah I don't I don't for see these dudes I think if these dudes could play the entire year for free or they had to play the entire year for free I believe they would bro I honest these are football players they they love the sport they love the game of football yes yes you can tell bro this is not just something they're doing to get a paycheck see like and and speaking of Caleb Williams I mean the city has really embraced I think both Roma dun and Caleb Williams because every time they go out in Chicago they go out to bars whatever ever around the Chicago land area I mean you could definitely just see like whenever they're doing an interview with this guy the guy's always ending the interview like bear down he's always say saying du Bears whatever like you definitely see energy know Caleb is great at selling himself to the fans he's great at selling himself to the fans I see that in that kid you know Caleb wants the fans to know that he's all in with the team you know it doesn't have to be a thing where we're concern ER if you know he's going to leave after the rookie contract or you know what's going to happen here you know he you know he he's whatever Gro pays is is Gonna Come here I believe Caleb is on board with the Bears for the Long Haul bro I don't think this is a situation where you know uh Caleb was just here and and he's just gonna stay here long enough to get his shine so that he can go get his next big contract with some other team you know like Gonna Fly Away and go play with the 409 you know what I mean or the Kansas City giefs right the Cowboys I don't I don't believe we have to worry about that with him um so um but yeah I think that's what all the drama is you know even if it was a situation where Caleb was holding out and I could see possibly Caleb you know being the type if the money if he doesn't feel like the money is adequate he could hold out or something I I just don't see that same with romad doomday bro he's just not that kind of guy he's not cut like that this is a guy calebs he doesn't have an agent he has uh lawyers that's going to look at his contract I don't think he has an agent if I'm not mistaken does he I mean I I I think all of that is forone is forone everything's done I I I don't see anything that could be a a major sticky point of any sort he's a number one pick in the draft so what are the Bears gonna do hassle with him you're not GNA hassle with the number one pick of the draft you can't hassle with well he already he already accomplished one of his goals on his on his on his goals list he became the number one pick all he has to do is win eight super balls plus now In fairness to him and romad dun and other rookies that just came in a lot of these guys had nil deals that was paying more Ry contracts what the rooky contracts are paying so so I could see you know where you know they could possibly be in the unions here you know uh the PA being their ear about you know next collective bargaining agreement comes around hey take this cap off rookie contracts or you know broaden the cap or something I can see that becoming an issue down the road but but there's nothing they can do about it right now you know what I mean there's nothing can be done about it right now yeah but what is Daman talking about here bro what did he say with this don't think the Bears are really looking at that from a position standpoint you know he gotta be the free safety he gotta be a strong safety I think the Bears just trying to have Dynamic coverage over it just depends on what you're looking for to me it depends on what you're looking for question why do you think the Bears have an extended yanic uh health reasons is one you know you don't want to bring a guy on um Swift is better by I hate man uh you you don't want to bring a guy on board who's not completely healthy plus Yanik he he tends to have this knack for signing for one year and what you what you can't afford to do if you're signing yanika G for one year you can't afford to have him sitting out because you only got this year for now if we Sig him to a two or three year deal something like say three years $30 million or something then I can see bringing him back and giving him a chance to heal all the way up and get back to himself but a one-year contract you know this is what this guy's been signing kind of iffy to sign him you know coming off of an injury to a one-year contract you need more time with him you need more time with him on your team bro uh but but he was
