all right Titans fans Sam failen of adz sports I'm here with future hall of fame wide receiver Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins we are at the DeAndre Hopkins Youth Football Camp here at Nissan Stadium DeAndre I'll let you kick it off here and just talk to me about this event why this was something that you really wanted to do with the Nashville community and something that's important to you uh you know Nashville is you know welcome me with open arms I knew coming here I wanted to do something for this community took time uh want to thank the Titans for allowing us to use the Nissan Stadium today uh just get his experience uh you know that that they don't get often I asked around when I got here how many camps do they hold here I didn't hear about many so I was like you know I have to do something here and uh so I'm thankful did you go to camps growing up like was this part of your football origin story that it wasn't and so I always wanted to do something that I didn't have the chance to do I went to one Camp as a junior in high school uh and that was Under Armour camp and uh after that you know I really didn't get the opportunity uh I stayed in Clemson so you know it wasn't many camps going on besides Clemson University and we couldn't afford the Clemson University counts it young DeAndre Hopkins gets to pick a dream NFL player to host a camp just like this one who would he want to host the camp uh I would have to go with Calvin Johnson Calvin okay little Megatron yeah Megatron he's the goat you know it's one of my favorite players so uh the kids might not know who he is but they can watch his highlights and they they'll figure it out fast I want to Pivot a little bit to this team that's getting going here in a week here some Tennessee Titans regular season action one week from today yep uh year and a couple months ago you were on IM athlete with Brandon Marshall and you said my next home my next team I want three things I want stable management upstairs I want a quarterback that loves the game and propels the people around him and I want a really good defense after what you've seen from Rand carthon what you've seen from will Levis and his development as a rookie to his second year and now all the dogs that they're bringing into this defense in Tennessee is it safe to say that they've got all three here in Nashville uh you know on paper of course but we got to go out there and put it together uh you know I think every team right now feels like they have the best this best that uh what whatnot so uh you know it's NFL and uh every Sunday you got to strap it up uh Underdog overdog whatever that means uh you know it's it's NFL so of course you know I said that uh and and I feel like ran has done a great job of what he done with this organization and I'm thankful to be here you're a guy who prides yourself on as many quarterbacks as you played within your career so you're familiar with this whole like new pieces coming in so how does that you and like how can you benefit The Titans with your experience being able to just hey like get on the same page with the guy put it together you know I play a lot of football with a lot of different quarterbacks like you said it takes patience yeah uh it takes communication and that's something I feel like I can help some of the younger wide receivers uh you know Tyler boy uh Calvin Ridley those guys are great but uh you know they they didn't they haven't went through many changes like I have and so you know I'm here uh for any questions Tyler obviously been this offense he's helping me and every everyone else but uh not just those guys but players around who's dealing with a new coaching change cool I I got an interesting one for you because I I view DeAndre Hopkins is kind of a side quest guy man you got you got a lot of different passions and interests away from the football field so I see your music video with shabzi you're on stage with Morgan Wallen you're walking in the fear God fashion show all this stuff ba based on your interest give me a DeAndre Hopkins side quest that you want to do and have not been able to do yet that could be coming in the future uh Thor country Festival in Nashville okay uh that's something I want to do in the future that I haven't done yet uh so um hopefully you know that'll be in Horizon soon to to put on the country festival or some kind of music festival in Nashville top three country artists right now for you oh I'm going that's hard those are my buddies uh I don't want you don't have to offend anybody all right all we extend the list a bunch of ties for third or something all right we're going to go we're going to go Ernest okay uh Morgan and uh Chris D all right I like it all right last one I'm not going to ask you for any predictions about the team or whatever but what can Titans fans expect from the new era under Brian count and more specifically DeAndre Hopkins in 2024 I think what they can expect from you know the new new era under Callahan uh is a a competitive team uh you know I don't I don't think we're going to go out there and uh get blew out I feel like it's going to always be a competitive game no matter who we play and uh from dandre Hopkins just someone who's going to go out there and give it his all like I always have and compete awesome appre appreciate it
