Introduction.Exclusive Interview with Ellie Simmonds [Music] Question 1.Can you describe that feeling of winning and owning a paralympic gold medal? I always think oh it's really heavy that's always my thought when I when I hold it you don't realize that that this is yours you have that moment of alone time in the the medal ceremony Gathering and being able to stand on that Podium I think that's when it really hits you that you've got a par Olympic gold medal and and you've got it around your neck you you're singing the National Anthem and I think that's when it's that time of being alone and being able to relax and enjoy the experience that that's when it hits you that you're you're a par Olympic champion and they're Question 2.What was it like winning gold in your home nation at London 2012? [Music] rare the London 2012 medal um was quite an emotional feeling I think going into to get to that games there was a lot of pressure on me that I was expected to get the gold I had a great race like um being a home athlete there's a lot of Home pressure people were expecting me already to get a gold medal with even without having swam there's a great rivalry between me and an American swimmer where we were head ahead a couple of months before the the games on in London that she' broken my world records she smashed it and I was like oh my gosh like I've got to go out there and I've got to race her and I've got to give everything it was very tense leading up to it um and when I'd finally got touched the wall and I'd got the gold medal and then I'd stand on this Podium receiving this I think it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and it was relief it was [Music] Question 3.How has your paralympic success impacted your life? everything I'm very lucky that I've been to three par Olympics and I've got medal a medal in all three of those it's I'm very proud of myself to be honest I don't really think about it day in day out um it's only when I go to things or I talk to people or I come to the par Olympics offices and realize that I'm a par Olympian and I'm so proud to be a par Olympian [Music]
