the United States of America won New Zealand won a miserable game absolute [ __ ] that sort of caps off the bur halter era quite you know appropriately because this team is lost with no Direction terrible tactics Mike yarus is clueless and out of his depth and should probably go back to high school and ask a girl out to prom this team needs pochettino so very very badly um it is so obvious how I don't think I've ever seen us down this bad I mean okay I was there for Kua since Kua I have not seen us be down this bad it is so blindingly obvious players making mistakes all over the place zero Direction zero hunger zero fire zero fight tactically inept and naive it can't the good thing the good news is for pettino you know it's all up from here because it certainly can't get a lot worse and when I say it can't get a lot worse I'm not talking about the talent available to us I'm talking about the mentality of this team the direction of this team the leadership on this team individual errors just across the board terrible tactics very I mean the the the last half an hour hour was a little better in terms of tempo but that's mostly because New Zealand collapsed into a low block and we struggled to break it down or really create a whole lot of meaningful we were better when you know Tilman psik and uh delat to came on certainly but boy that was just another pretty shambolic performance after a shambolic performance against Canada right I mean this is not it's not looking promising guys but I do want to talk a little bit about you know pettino now that he is here we're going to talk about this game as well but now that pettino is here what does he need to do like we're gonna have he's gonna be introduced to the Press on Friday with a press conference and I'm going to break that down obviously um but boy does he have his work cut out for him and I'm going to go back and forth with Tac about you know what needs to happen with this team and with this player pool because I think for the amount of talent available what's worrying is we do not have any personality there is no fire in the belly right if you can get tactical tactical competence plus fire in the belly is you know you can change this team a lot but right now I see nothing about this team that makes me believe or think we're going to do anything in 2026 what are your thoughts Tac I'm just trying to look forward to the pettino era I'm just assuming that a lot will change but of course if if we stay somewhat of what we are now I don't think it can get worse than now I don't think it can stay the same as now I feel like if we are the same as what we are right now till the Gold Cup I feel like poao would just quit like just can't work with this yeah and I I do think he's going to make us better right there's no doubt in my mind that but the first thing he needs to do is set a bar for what this team needs to be in terms of the attitude they come into camp with right even in this camp we saw it apparently pisk was like filming golf Tik Tok videos with his girlfriend in Camp um the players were going to games and throwing peanuts into each other's M like just the whole attitude whenever they come into camp and this started in the bur halter era but is continuing in this you know Camp it's Boy Scout it's Boy Scout camp that's what it feels like summer camp let's go swimming in the lake let's film Tik Tok videos play some golf and then put in a shambolic performance they they it almost feels like all they do is um they just see this as a trip back home to America yeah it's like let's go back I'm gonna play golf in the US gonna eat the food I like go to a game Throw peanuts on each other's mouths um guys by the way don't throw peanuts on each other's mouth it doesn't it's not it's not funny and it's just very like corny it's not it's just weird don't do it don't throw peanuts in your friend's mouth um but again they just see it as a trip back to America like going back home they don't really see it as like I'm representing my country maybe we should start just holding the camps in Europe just stay there yeah I I mean I games are gonna be all at home that's the problem right but you know if you're pettino and I've been reading his autobiography which is quite an interesting look but it's actually co-written with GM bayag but sort of based on his diary when he was at Spurs and I I said this to you on the phone today Tac but typically the way PCH works when he doesn't see that hunger and desire in his players um and by the way he was not seeing it at Spurs at times when they were second in the league and he was not happy with what they were how they were performing with what they were giving on the on game day and in training his typical attitude and I think he will do this with this national team is to sit down with the players and say I need this from you this is what the standard that I expect in terms of your focus your intensity and your hunger and if I'm not getting that then we have a problem and then he leaves it up to the player and if he doesn't get that from them he's very quick to jettison you if he believes you're not going to bring what he wants to the table and I think he needs to sit down with this entire team one by one and he needs to hold them to a very high standard first in terms of commitment because without commitment you can't do anything especially the way he wants to play it's going to be a high line High pressing style very direct when we win the ball very difficult team to you know a lot of off ball movement when we have it to tear teams apart it's like be Elsa light it's some changes to how BSA plays but he is a blsa disciple he played for blsa blsa is one of his mentors and so this team is going to have to be fit and focused and I looking around right now we've never needed him more we've never needed him more yep um this is a pretty big low because once again the cop America was completed utter crap under Greg berhalter then we move into this Camp under Mikey vadas which is a student of burh halter um a mini burh halter and we saw that he's just not not not a good coach some very dumb decisions and Mikey vadas actually pulled horrendous results as well we got completely dominated by Canada once again it was 2-1 but if the game ended 4-0 for Canada it would have been Fair that's the first thing second one is today um we tied New Zealand and sure I would argue that we were a bit better than New Zealand but the draw didn't seem unfair it seemed like yeah they they had a shot can we talk about the disaster of playing Pepe on right at the right wing and balagan up top like what what is that I am no tactical genius I don't know but there is nothing about Pepe that screams Winger if like and then even the Midfield of Musa Morris and Aronson like what was that ever going to create anything like I just don't understand I don't what was what was he Mikey varus thinking putting out that lineup was he thinking I don't know I gotta say if you're a San Diego fan beware because this guy seems like I think he should go back to high school or I stick to coaching youth teams I don't know but nothing about his tenure you had he had a chance to come in here and stamp his like look he did something different the way BJ Callahan did right he came on in his first two games we looked amazing right and then he got stuck with that C team for the Gold Cup and it didn't look great but but he came in he stabed his authority on the team and it was like BJ ball we still talk about it fluid attacking hungry aggressive all the things we want to see from our national team we didn't see that from Mikey varus's team I'm not going to blame Mike karus too much but he had an opportunity and he failed quite miserably frankly but these players man I I I don't is there any player that can leave this camp with his head held high maybe Tilman yeah I mean he did all right against Canada um I think Aiden Morris earned a chance I don't think he was bad today yeah I agree I think LCA Dore also had a good camp uh stepen spot says what did we just watch and why did we give that that last minute goal up we need it wasn't a last minute goal like there was still time left no there was 15 minutes to go but what was turn no no no no there was there it was in the 89th but there's still like 10 minutes after added so yeah there was a long time we could still bounce back it was just an that also we conceded the goal and could you see the players faces like the American players yeah like they didn't care they didn't not care that goal was a disaster from Caleb Wy to Mark McKenzie to Matt Turner but Matt Turner man what was he doing coming off his line there like why did he start today couldn't you just have given this to coaching or schy again that honestly did bounce back in the first game and did fine yeah like why why are we giving him more time to suck he looks like a guy that started playing soccer at age 15 yeah which yeah so you know Turner I think it's time to say goodbye certainly as a starter maybe as a third keeper just for Vibes but I nothing about Turner filled you with confidence and then today was just like the nail in his coffin but here but here's my question in terms of Vibes is he good vibes just a nice guy but more Les VI and it's more that we don't have a lot of goalkeeping options yeah so I guess but right like who who would you let's say start Shelty would you bring Gaga over Turner I don't know because also Ethan Horvath is not really someone I trust either no so it's like if you start shy for now which might honestly be the best option at the moment do you bring Gaga and coachin is the other two and should have the three of them fight it out Gaga just made a big mistake this weekend I know that's the thing people talk about Gaga I'm like pump the braks also Gaga does not play the way poch wants to play are they watching Gaga too because I feel like a lot of people are just hyping because he's young and he Chelsea signed him they're not really watching Gaga because really watch Gaga there's no games of his on watch also in Belgium Pete again didn't watch the games of oin that's the first thing I'll say what I did watch were highlights so I saw his saves I saw the goals that he conceded um made some good saves made some mistakes uh so far so good but statistically speaking he was among the worst goalkeepers in Belgium just to make that clear for whatever that's worth so I watched about 70% of all of his involvements because I have y Scout so you just get to watch all player involvements and I would say that Gaga in Belgium was about the same as what he is now he'd make some very good saves and also look extremely shaky with his decision making with his coming off his line and also just terrible on the ball just terrible like like when did this guy become comfortable with a soccer ball honestly like that's and it's about the same at barnesley so I don't think Gaga is the big solution yet that some people think he is you know so maybe you bring coachin schy and Turner as the third goalkeeper I don't know like who do you bring as the third keeper at this point I mean I do also want to say one thing Pete um when we talk about MLS like we talk about how we think certain veterans in MLS shouldn't be in the team I do think certain players should be cut from the national team simply by where they play and if you're playing the third division of England in my opinion that's not a good enough level to be in the national team the US so Gaga stonina until he gets out of Barnes maybe he's amazing maybe he is I think if you're amazing you probably wouldn't be at Barnes in the third division but I don't think we should be calling someone that's playing in the third division of England simp so here's my question and I agree with you yeah what about coachen who's playing in Barcelona B shouldn't call him for the national team I think he was a call up to recruit and for that I agree again the goalkeepers this Camp were actually schy Turner and Horvath coaching was the fourth goalkeeper to be recruited and I am 100% okay with that but again he is playing in the third division of of Spain which is worse than the third division of England should not be in the national team unless you're recruiting him unless he gets a loan to La Liga or something then it so here's my question to you for October the October Camp who are your three Keepers you bring one right sh's won uh if you want to bring coaching as the fourth goalkeeper to recruit again pochettino might want to talk to him I'm okay with that so fourth but we're going for three oh boy this is the problem can we get Tim Howard in shape real quick yeah that this is the issue it's like I get where you're coming from I mean people are saying Stefan but guys Stefan hasn't been good for Colorado either I know they had he had a good fake tournament but other than that in even in Colorado fans the the rational ones will tell you he was quite poor before that and I did see his recent game where he made a big howler on a goal too so ehh like who there there aren't a ton of options some people saying having to bring you end up having to bring Turner and Horvath for now and and and start schy give schy a shot again that's what I'm saying or maybe Chris Brady as the third goalkeeper I don't know like there's not great options at the moment but uh I guess we'll see what pettino does um got a couple more Super chats here what changes to the lineup will po make so we don't know that we don't know right this is the beauty of this and by the way it feels like a weird feeling right now because after a ter summer we have a terrible camp and yet we got maybe the best news the usmnt has gotten ever in our history is there better news in terms of coaching news this is the best coach we've ever gotten right and it's not close and so we should be rejoicing why are we not rejoicing well the mood is low and also this has been like a thing that been reported for months now right like it's been months now so no one's like super excited it's like okay finally it's more like a sigh of relief if you have have to if you have to say Tac what players that are currently involved with the team in some way or another do you think poch is like nuh I'll start we can go back and forth I don't think Kate Kyle's getting called in oh you're talking about this K roster K KY is definitely out or just let's say this year that have been in the mix this year I think Miles Robinson is out okay so we have Kade cow we have miles Robinson is there anybody else that you're like I don't think he's calling this guy up I think Turner he'll call due to lack of options but he'll do everything on his power to to switch Turner yeah not start him he'll I would say Brendan Aronson but I do know that PCH values pressing so for that I think he might hang on to aronin in the he he played Conor Gallagher quite a bit with Chelsea and I I understand that Connor Gallagher is a better player than Brendan but you get the concept right more of a hustle Merchant than an actual play so I think Brendan still has a shot um defley miles Kate C no way um it's hard to say you know it's hard to look and say this guy's out for sure I mean people saying Mo he was in the cop America so sha Moore is out sha Moore is out Georgie mahovich is out Walker Zimmerman is out I don't think any of those guys are getting called up but reality is we get to figure this out as he goes along and I think early on he might bring everybody and just sort of do the process of elimination he's going to want to talk to guys he's gonna want to watch Aiden Morris should be a roster lock I don't know about a roster lock right there's a lot of midfielders that he's gonna have to compete with you know there a guy who hasn't really gotten an opportunity is Leonard Maloney for example although I I agree with you Cubone maker he did perform quite well in this Camp he's one of the few guys that has stalk up from this Camp what do you think about Tim re do you think pochettino leaves him out tricky one tricky one he is definitely on the path of finish right as a professional professional player close to retirement um let's let's think about the center backs he could bring right Richards um McKenzie maybe trusty and Carter Vickers I have a feeling Carter Vickers is in because he spoke highly of him during his time at Spurs even though he didn't really think he was the level required but for the US I think those are the four honestly that he could bring in yeah if they're all healthy I think Tim rine might might left out yeah it's very possible yes Cubone maker I did pronounce I taught him I taught him so soccer Satan uh Sergeant they said was a had a slight ankle knock before this game I don't know if it meant he was gonna start or not but Sergeant man here's the problem people say oh he hasn't scored for the national team for year yeah he hasn't played since Qatar he's played 22 minutes since Qatar but it's mostly his fault because he keeps getting injured either right before camp or in Camp so it's hard to rely on Sergeant Johnny soccer uswnt has Direction what's this team's identity well I'll say this they didn't have Direction until Emma Hayes came in right Emma Hayes came in and within a year it was very clear this team had a Direction they go and win the gold medal it's when you have a good coach and also they are among the best in the world right in women's soccer not saying we're going to now win something a year from now but while we should win the Gold Cup but yeah the direction is has to come from the head coach and we've certainly made the right move to bring in Mario pettino and credit to Crocker and JT for making two good coaching hires after the [ __ ] coaching hire that was rehiring Greg berhalter so it's two to one right now okay but yeah the Direction's going to have to come from PCH because it's been directionless for years including when burh halter was there completely directionless should Luca be back yes yes I think he's in the mix of course it depends again that Midfield is very very um crowded right you can look in every position let's say you look at the six you have Johnny you have Adams and you have Maloney money Aiden Morris and Aiden Morris so that's four guys that can play the six then you look at the eight you have mckenny you have Musa and you have deore so that's three and then at the 10 you have Gio and you have Tilman so it's four at the six three at the eight two at the 10 that's nine midfielders that you could see making this roster so it's G to be crowded right and it's gonna be interesting to see how poch juggles it and who he brings [Music] back yeah just to add to that lucao should be back he's he's in the mix he didn't he wasn't horrible in the camp by any means just wasn't great there were tessman too we'll have to see how he does it Leon but he's a guy that could be in the mix depending on performance um by the way a couple people mentioning in the chat and they have a point jayen Neil is another guy that poch might take a look at because he's quite good on the ball right and so that's certainly a guy that he might bring in what players do you think will not be called so yeah we we sort of gave our answer right now we think ream Robinson and cow shael Moore Walker Zimmerman none of the MLS vets let's put it that way definitely not Kell a Costa Kosta sweet Kellen think your time has passed you by but you might get to work with Greg berhalter again if they hire him as the Chicago Fire coach and then you guys can continue that little love story that will be nice um yeah Tac is there any positives before we get into it is there any positives from the New Zealand game by the way this was a New Zealand team that Mexico beat 3-0 guys 3-0 Mexico who's down bad even more bad than we are and yet they came and won 3-0 are we is there any positive I don't think there's I don't think so I don't think so I don't think there was anything really that positive I guess one um I guess we finally um we we it was more of like so we got to look at this game from a different perspective it was The Exorcism of Greg berhalter the ghost of Greg bur halter that was the last because people are going to say but bur Halter's gone during the Copa medic yes he was gone but this was like still there were remains of bur halter there with Mikey vadas the coaching staff yeah and as bur halter has nothing to do with this result directly not his fault because he wasn't there there was still the burh halter culture within and yeah it dies now like this was the last game it's dead we can finally close the door on the bur halter era yes and T and I do not know what our channels look like without Greg berhalter because we started them in bur halter era so now we finally have poch and my God Tac I'm so [ __ ] looking forward to talking about something other than burh halter ball like I cannot wait even if it doesn't look good right away we have something different to talk about but mostly we have to we have to give pochettino at least till the Gold Cup like a year of course he can't be doing stupid [ __ ] we're going to try to analyze and criticize what's good or bad what we think is good or bad but we're going to be a bit patient with him at least in the first 12 months because one he's going to get to know the player pole he's going to give some players an opportunity to play the way he wants to play he's going to be adjusting to the international manager role and then by the Gold Cup we want to see this team completely different of course next Camp I already want to see a different attitude that can change like this but style of play being better in transition uh the system everything he wants to implement by the Gold Cup of next year that's when we're going to be a bit more critical about him until then let's try to see where he can get this team we got to give the guy sometime we gave bur halter over a year just to make that clear we gave bur halter over a year and we weren't seeing progress that was the issue and Balter was a nepo hire yeah buttino is not his resume is more than good enough to be a US Men's National Team coach I would say he has the best resume we've ever had you know they talk about like reachers and settlers in relationship like one person's quote unquote above the other in terms of value I think it's a shallow way to look at relationships but if you take that metaphor we are this the reachers and poch is the settler like he's bigger than the US he's bigger than this job and we're very lucky that we got him so bur halter was the Reacher in this relationship right he was re the US was bigger than bur halter right he just got it because of his brother nepo baby like so many people in US soccer or even in the media um but what was I going to say I was going to say something else um about and settlers that's what you were saying yeah so that's you know pettino is the settler but I do want to say one thing too you know what I'm looking forward to about the poatina pettino era is the media criticizing the coach and I'll say this because that when Jurgen clintsman was the coach the media was incessantly critical when it's an American coach it's the fans fault when it's a foreign coach they have no problem holding them accountable and being critical of their moves and I know it's going to be the same with patino every little thing pettino does if it doesn't go well they're going to start criticizing him and I'm like okay good that's what media should do they should criticize the coach if they disagree or if things are not going well and I'm glad to see it but notice the difference and I'm I'm calling this right now notice the difference between them asking for patience for bur halter in year four and how quickly they're going to turn on pettino if things don't go well watch clip this if you want to because I'm telling you the media will change their tune very quickly with a foreign coach all right they did it with clintsman I saw it happen so we'll see what they do now I think pochettino can handle the US soccer media yes I think we just saw we just saw today one of them one of the biggest ones fold with like a few tweets which was very silly yeah very some very mild tweets by the way just a disagreement no no personal attacks just no no nobody called him names um but here's the thing a few people a few people did because they do but I'm just saying the bigger very mild very very neutered um there was a uh what was it it was a poino has coached PSG and Chelsea which currently might be the two most difficult J uh jobs in club soccer because the pressure versus the actual status of the club is not what the fans think it is right at PSG it's not so much the fans maybe it's more the the people who own the club at very high expectations and uh they're just a very poorly run Club at Chelsea it's kind of the same thing they used to be a big club and now they're not they're not a big Club anymore in terms of being a contender for titles and so he had to handle that pressure and the fact US soccer is going to be nothing for him brush it off like an ant on his shoulder you know so I really think he's going to be fine I don't think this is going to phase him in any way shape or form really um should we do player ratings Zack um yeah I mean it's it's not going to be a fun one and and it's no it's not but we have to do player ratings we always do before we do player ratings can I say one thing about this game I thought we played equally as bad as we did against Canada the opponent was just worse agre that's what I think I think it was as bad as Canada it might not feel as bad because we kind of like played a bit better than the opponent and then we didn't lose but I thought the performance performance was equally as bad it might have even been worse yeah yeah no it's ridiculous um Turner I'm giving Turner a three because he did make a few saves that you would expect him to make they were not amazing Saves by any means but he was partially culpable on the goal he came off his line completely unnecessarily like what was he doing like there were three Defenders it Wy had a terrible header downwards and then McKenzie instead of just kicking it out tried to turn and clear it into it's it was just terrible but Turner shouldn't have come off his life well Turner is always he it just feels like he's lost yeah he's just lost and then he just doesn't really know where to go and then he just caught in the middle of No Man's Land and it went in obviously it's not all on him it starts with Wy McKenzie messes it up and it's like it's the the tree the three of them right they both they all three of them both all three of them messed up but yeah I'm going to give Turner a three he just just watching him play just doesn't Aspire confidence at all no no and the thing is he's not going to get a chance to rebuild that confidence because he's sitting on the bench at Palace the Pete the saves also they were saves the the way I try to evaluate goalkeeper saves is the following way if it went in would you have called it a bizarre mistake in all of it saves today you would have called it a bizarre mistake so that means good for you you did your job it's not something you comp imp the guy it's like a a center forward scoring a tap in depending on the tap sometimes tapin require positioning but let's say he scored a goal that the other player did all the work and he just scored a tap and a goal's a goal but at the end of the day it's like guys that not all goals are the same like in terms of how you credit the player same thing for saves and the saves were his obligation I I'm giving him a two yeah they were expected saves I'm giving him a two I'm I'm I'm honestly a little tired of Matt Turner yeah same same uh go first on FY FY is a tricky one I didn't think he had a good first half but I thought he looked a lot better in the second half going forward he looked more Dynamic than Joe scall maybe um seemed to like it seemed again it's New Zealand so maybe SC would have looked fine going up I think I'm going to give Marlin fosy probably like a 5.5 a six like I I thought more because of the second half than the first half yeah I'm GNA give him 6.5 is his debut so his first game yes it was New Zealand I think he was full of endeavor right and I think he really on both sides of the ball worked very hard and tried to make an impression I just don't think he's a high skilled player so he's never gonna look amazing right but in terms of who he is and what he can do I think he on both sides of the ball he worked really hard and he didn't really give up any chances defensively I think 6.5 is fair for FY yeah I'll probably give it a six but yeah um Richards I don't remember any clear mistakes from Richards there was one time where he got beat in the Box in the first half and arenson helped to bail him out but I also don't think I thought he was good on the ball for the most part with his passing I'll give him a six I don't think he was a standout I don't think he was really threatened that much by New Zealand I'm GNA give him the same rating as FY a six also I thought he was fine also again it's New Zealand the backline wasn't really that much tested and the little they were tested they kind of failed in my opinion yeah speaking of failing back lines I wanted to enjoy Mark McKenzie's performance and I did for the most part and I said this to you in your stream he did something in the first half that we rarely see our center backs do and I wish we would do more is that when we're passing it back and forth from Center back to Center back waiting for the Midfield to find Space to make a pass we don't do anything we just stand there with the ball passing it what Mark McKenzie did several times in the first half which I really enjoyed and I wish our center backs would do this more is he would T dribble he would take space with the ball because now you force the oppos the opponent to react either they back off or they come to you and if one of them steps to you now you've opened up space for one of your Midfield and you can make the pass it's like a game of chicken with the opponent but it requires courage because if you lose that ball then you're in trouble and I I and when he did that I thought he mostly found the pass and was courage and ability ability too huh courage and ability you need do that he made some really nice passes into Midfield and into the attack that I was like thank you and then he makes a stupid decision on the goal you don't can't you never especially when he knew there was a guy right there never turn and whack the ball like that kick it out the side if you have to or lump it up in the air but just turning and whacking it I was gonna give him a seven but that goal I'm gonna give him a four I'll be a bit nicer I'll give him a five U because he was definitely above the same way I add a goal when a player scores a goal he's Cable in that goal but there were some good things from McKenzie um it's not a good sign when you make a mistake like that but it if you rewatch The play I know it was his mistake but how much was it also on Caleb wy's weird header oh no 100% Wy put him in a very awkward spot yeah so so definitely to blame but I'm gonna give McKenzie because he was involved in that mistake and fair is fair I'm giving him a five but again it could be one of those where with a better left back without a mistake like that he probably wasn't expecting that too he's like what what are you doing yeah Turner and then Turner just caught on no no man's land but I'm giving McKenzie a five I think there's some potential I'm not ready to say hey let's see what like I think also Carter Vickers has to get another chance I think trusty has to get a shot um it's fres right yeah there's some potential there with mcken I think we talked about this earlier in the Stream Richards McKenzie Carter Vickers and trusty let them battle for those two starting spots yeah with Richards having an advantage over them as of now yeah no absolutely um you go first on Christopher Lind man some people thought he played well I I thought he was very mediocre like the first game I'm giving him a four not horrible didn't make there was only one moment where he it was a lot on him New Zealand had a moment in transition where there was a bad ball to Aiden Moore it wasn't Aiden Moore's mistake but he ended up getting nutmeg I remember that and they hit in transition and lond was kind of lost and then they made a run in behind on his side and that was one of Turner saves it was mostly on lond it was poor defense in transition but and then outside of that he's just very like eh just I don't know man just eh yeah like I don't think there's a big gap between him tolken and Wy right now I really don't I think they're all pretty mediocre left backs that moment was bad because as the ball was about to be played he took his eye off of it and he looked this way and he closed down and then it created space for the ball in behind it was actually poor decision making and he to his credit he tried to put pressure on the player but that was very poor from L um I think four is fair I don't understand the Lund love from some people I think you could put Wy you could put Lund you could put Tolen I don't think there'd be a big much of a difference right now Wy might be the most eror prone of the three though he's also the youngest he's 19 yeah so right now right now Wy probably the worst of the three because we saw that also for example when they played Leon in Lega right Wy came on got a good assist but then he was culpable in two goals like clearly not ready positioning wise yeah and he made a big mistake today in limited minutes so definitely more air prone but you're right like especially London token like I we saw token in the Olympics it's a U23 tournament they look like similar players yeah very mediocre I think the the solution is actually Kevin Paredes is a left back like honestly I think he might be the back up to aob that we're looking for and I hope wolburg plays him more as a left back or at least left wing back because I think he might be better than any of those options the the same way for the center backs I think there's a fifth option that we should put there which is tener testman I think he should be tried as a center back he has the the player profile of a very good ball playing Defender if he can adapt that's what I think about tenor yeah watch poch do it then Tac is going to be he he watched our stream he he heard my appeal for it so po if you are watching try it you never know um is Paredes good enough defensively to play left back at a high level asks BMR 209 what we saw at the Olympics yes yes he was I mean is that a high level you can debate it against France and Morocco I thought he looked pretty good wolburg has also played him as a left back at times so clearly they think he's good enough to play as a left back and I don't think he's Dynamic enough to be a Winger to be I think let me put it this way I think his ceiling is left back is higher than his ceiling as a Winger I think he can play both but I think his ceiling is higher as a left back right he's actually really good in on defense in isolation he's actually pretty good at it yeah yeah so I think that might be your guy uh but let's see I mean let's see what comes through maybe Nathaniel Brown gets recruited maybe pton Miller becomes something I know he's very young just 16 so some interesting guy to watch I don't rate Nolan Norris at all so we'll see we'll see um midfielders Aiden Morris I want to give Aiden Morris props I'll give him seven seven I'll go with the seven two very ball secure um I know again New Zealand doesn't matter I'm just evaluating today I think Aiden Morris in both games even Canada uh he looked to the very least competent unlike many players that did this Camp so seven and I think Aiden Morris has earned another callup I think for October earned another call up but a look with other opponent if he continues to do well he'll stay with the roster um not sold on him but got to give him props this camp where most players look like complete dog poop yeah he looked fine yeah I want to say about Aiden Morris he's very instinctive with his passing right gets the ball looks for the pass there are times where I would like him and I don't think he has this skill set is when there is space to take it a little bit on the dribble I don't think he has that in him and I think that he may suffer from that longterm but in terms of endeavor and in terms of what he brought I think he's one of the few guys that can leave this camp with his head held high and kudos to him for that seven yunas the Moose the Su it is a bigger discussion about Eunice Musa and we've been saying this for years despite claims from some that he is the new Ronaldinho Musa has not made any progress and he was poor today I know he had some good flashes you're a 41 cap guy you need more than two or three good flashes against New Zealand okay you do and three goals three giveaways in the first 10 15 minutes including one that should have been a goal but they missed if that had become a goal Musa would be getting a lot more criticism the way that Johnny did true or false yeah we talked about this how mus and Johnny both had horrible performances in the first game the only reason people were talking more about Johnny was because Canada scored and in one of his giveaways Musa got lucky in a few and didn't but Musa again today wasn't good um and I see people saying that he kind of stagnated and it's weird that Musa has stagnated with his development because when you look at his Club career playing time has not been an issue played a lot in La Liga for Valencia he plays a lot for Milan too played a lot last season so it's not really like a an issues like ah he's not playing not develop he's playing it just seems like maybe this is Peak Musa this might be it like I don't know like he's just not improving much and not very ball secure like we talked about aen Morris for example all he can do is just dribble the ball forward into traffic and if they overcrowd areas he loses it in the final third he is close to useless I'm not exaggerating unless he he hits some nice long shots from time to time they don't really go in but no and to have 41 caps and have zero goals and assists for the national team is embarrassing embarrassing and I'm you know I'm not rating him on his goals and assists what I'm rating him on him is what he does with the ball and often times it's not much he seems one-dimensional It's dribble with the ball into a blind alley and then lose it right his especially his passing range in the final third is extremely poor and today he was poor I'm giving him a two yeah I'll just go with a two because I don't want to put maybe two 2.5 and and then to the viewers right now watching this in the rewatcher in the chat what can Musa do in the final third like tell me [Music] can he cross can he hit a like a long shot from time to time can he put a through ball can he dribble P cuz here's the difference too someone asked me this question on the US Men's National Team abroad series once and I responded in the second video after thinking about it because I didn't think about that it was like watching Milan Musa very often looks very good in the Midfield when he's there when he has to progress the ball forward find a pass and then someone asked why in the same game he looked so good there and when he reached the final third we even made a joke that the monstars from Space Jam just steal his powers when he gets to the final third and I responded I thought about it for a long time and I try to think with the mind of like when I'm playing a soccer game why would I be good here and bad there what happens is in the final third time in space are compressed that's where you have the least amount of time and space and that's where the best defenders are right because sometimes in the Midfield it's a 10 marking you it's a forward there's more space to go so it's just easier for you to actually do something there in the final third there's less time and space there's usually a six or a center back marking or a fullback that are much better Defenders so essentially all it is is the reason he sucks in the final third is just because of the defensive qualiity is higher and time and space are compressed that is why and it's quite clear watch Milan we watch me and Pete I think we watch every milon game almost at this point I'll say this at scouting at that level too they know what you're going to do with the ball and so I think at times they almost they show him a danger a non-dangerous alley to dribble into right it's almost like they show him a certain amount of space let him dribble down this blind alley because it's a non it's wide and away from goal right and sometimes he does get through but they know he kind of freezes up not going to do anything with it after that so a lot of work for Musa he is still 21 um so he's not finished we shouldn't like jettison him but the amount of time he's had for compared to the lack of progress is it's not like Gio Rena who had two years of injuries that could have been an issue he's been healthy he's been healthy he's been playing I think that's what makes the lack of progress worrying well and and the reason I'm holding him to a higher standard or two is like for example a player that I think lacks a lot of commitment and we saw that in the cop America he was overweight going to a hookah bar Weston McKenna Weston McKenna on the other hand is actually a player that is dangerous in the final third he gos through headers crashing the buck he can pick a pass when he wants to also pass is a lot better he can cross that is the difference so when we talk about mus and mckenny mus is far more committed far more focused than McKenna but you see it when McKenna plays there's a big difference in quality in the final third McKenna will get you assist McKenna will get you goals Musa doesn't and you want them to provide that mus is not a six he's more of a c like a box tobox midfielder you have to provide more in the final third and I I we haven't seen this progress in years no let's move on Brendon Aronson you go first it was another Brendan Aronson like performance he worked very hard he got knocked down multiple times he falls he's like Magikarp flopping around the field all over the place he just never becomes a Gyarados that's the main problem with Brendan right there and I'm just gonna give him a three dude like what did he do besides hustle yeah unless you want to give him hustle points that's why I'm giving him a three because other than that he was ineffective right and again this is Brendan he's almost 24 his fre kicks were also doooo terrible awful you know again Brendan is not young anymore and essentially the guy that we thought he is is who he is so kudos to him I'll give him hustle in a team where not everybody does but that's all you can say for him he's ineffective right and I knowing poch maybe for his pressing he might have him on the roster but you can't any anything on the ball no nothing there um onto the win [ __ ] I thought [ __ ] had a really poor game really poor I'm giving him a three as well I just it's it's a shame because he got a chance to start in that ptic role and he had a chance to show what he can do against a poor team but he didn't really right like I wanted to see Coventry [ __ ] and I just don't think we he ever really got going yeah I'm I'm I'm giving him the same as arenson I think it's fair now Ricardo Pep's the interesting one because he did score a goal that in my opinion was a legitimate goal yeah and it was a good goal it was a well-placed finish right I think he started he set it up too to start I think he got the first touch there and it it like they had a little play I can't remember the whole play but I think there was a moment where the long ball came to him and he set it up to someone that put the ball I think yeah I yeah no I that's 100% it and I want to give him props for scoring the goal the poor guy was completely misused right like what was he doing playing on the right wing that's the like he's not a versatile guy he is a pure nine and nothing else like you can't so that's not on him that he was used poorly and he did score that goal I think he was other than that I think he tried very hard but wasn't very effective in his role I I don't want to blame him too much for that so I'll give him a five yeah I'm gonna actually whatever I'll give him a 52 I don't want to think it's just weird because you put him there what you look at the player profile and the attributes of a Winger rutle Pepe has like none of them no not a Crosser not really the guy to make those runs in behind he's more of the guy that's in almost like a poacher um not very Pacey also to be a Winger not really good at dribbling past the opponent doesn't have that explosiveness it's like what did Mikey V Mikey varus this is a question for you my friend like what what did you what were you thinking when you went there and you said Ricardo Pepe you're gonna play as a right winger here what the heck was Mikey vadas thinking when he put that and we talked about how we're gonna talk about balagan in a second balagan does have a few attributes that make me believe that he can play as a Winger if you want him to he has played as a Winger for midds bro we saw that and sometimes a little bit more out wide for um for Monaco so why like if we had good journalists in this country someone just go Mikey which is also weird that your name that we call you're a grown man like we're calling you Mikey that's that's very weird already like can we just call you Mike but apparently he likes getting called Mikey so Mikey why did you play Ricardo Pepe out why like what is the reasoning give us a logical explanation besides you thinking he would have performed well there what did you see on Ricardo Pepe what attributes or what skill set that you were like he can be a Winger and why didn't you try balagan there or why didn't you play a 442 or two up top what in the love of God were you thinking and no one's gonna ask him yeah no no one's gonna ask him they don't question anything most of them don't have the intell either the intelligence or the balls to question decisions like that um let's move on to balagan you go first trying to remember balagan he did get the assist it was a nice one he found pulc during a good d position had a few two shots on target I think that he had at least one from pulic setting him up yeah um he did also have a very nice through ball to someone um in the first half I thought he looked a bit better and more dangerous definitely there in the first game he was sometimes coming also very deep almost as a false nine sometimes yeah again he's also speaking of misuse using him as a Target nine as a hold up forward is a misuse of balagan right it just is he did nicely on pulisic's goal but when he's coming so deep to receive the ball that's bur halter ball remember Balter tried to do the same thing with him it's absurd I will say there were times where he was One V one and he tried to dribble players and he almost always L lost the ball but I thought overall he wasn't horrendous and he got the I would say overall like a lot of ups and downs which would probably be close to a five and then I I'm going to give him a bonus point for the assist because it wasn't like it wasn't just an easy sideways pass right he got with the back to the defender quickly turned to find pulisic I'll give him a six I was going to give him a four but I'm going to bump him up to five on the assist okay um now it's two substitutes so Luca delatori came on in the at the first sub I actually thought he looked good I thought he kept the game ticking over nicely Luca's problem is that when we lose the ball he's very slow and he did have to commit a foul which I actually think was a good foul got that yellow card he gets beaten for Pace in Midfield and that's why don't think he's ever going to be an elite midfielder but on the ball he was very tidy kept I actually think one of the reasons the tempo was better in the second half was because of Luca so I will give him a 6.5 I'll give him a six a little bit below that but I thought he was good he came in and put a through ball right away to Marlon FY that was the first thing he did right away better performance from luuka and that's why we talked about earlier in the Stream um I wouldn't call him like a positive of this Camp he wasn't outstanding but he kept himself in the mix to fight for Midfield spot which is what probably what his goal was in this Camp so he was trying to push the game like you could see it he'd receive the ball on the turn and he'd be looking for the forward pass did we just one thing did we forget Aiden Morris or did we give him a rating no we gave it Morris is seven seven okay sorry so someone's saying come on guys you can't give such low scores on a one-1 draw with New Zealand at home you absolutely can't like nobody's getting being a bit generous I thought it was going to be lower yeah I think we're being generous too guys this is a terrible New Zealand team Mexico beat them 3 this is not okay okay well the can if you low ratings go watch the Canada stream that that one was lower yeah um you want to go first on I guess Malik came on and pulk came on simultaneously right uh no pulk came on in his own so first he scored the winner uhuh not the winner we didn't win I'm sorry the goal was a winner until we conceded and I thought he actually was was pushing like he was definitely eager to get that win he he played with intensity with fire didn't always come off for him he was playing against a low block right but I think he helped to push the tempo I think seven is fair yeah scored a goal um he also did set up balagan for a nice shot there um didn't do anything I'll give pul AI a seven good bounce back but again he has to be he has to leave the leadership role he can't do it yeah has to just go there and play He's our best player but he's not a leader unfortunately he's not a leader he's our best player that's how it should be but yeah props him get like roughly a little bit above average of six get the goal bonus so seven for Christian pisk um it was Tilman and Caleb Wy after Tillman Wy and cardos cardoso came on too late cardoso and cow came on with like five minutes left yeah I'm not going to rate them although cow once again don't get me started great did you see that time where he actually ahead of the guy down the touchline he managed to like Nick ahead of him and then the guy caught up and stole the ball and turned around and dribbled away from him and I was like yeah I'm gonna skip on K Cal yeah so Wy um I don't think he offered much had a few crosses here and there on the ball and his part he started the sequence that led to the goal three sorry he is he is the probably um the most culpable in that goal yeah well because it was a very simple header all you had to do literally was head it backwards that's it or head it back to to Turner now maybe Turner didn't call for it which fine but then you head it away you don't head it down why would you head down in front of the Defenders it's like he was setting up a goal yeah it's it's hard to there's no way to defend him he barely played he got like 20 something minutes and he was directly involved in two blame for the goal he was one of the main guys and didn't really do much besides that so it's unfortunate he's young he'll learn he is in a tough League now he he'll learn I'm still hopeful that he'll improve but but yeah there's no defending that I I'll give him a three yeah I'm give him a two um I thought tomman was good against a low pack defense I thought he was actually trying to push the game and he had some nice moves when I say good I'm saying slightly above average six 5.5 for me 5.5 now Mikey varus we didn't rate last time by the way so I'm gonna rate him on this whole Camp I'm giving Mikey a one you had a chance to set this team up to do something you there was no fire in the players bellies and sure we're blaming the players for that mostly which is fair but your weird tactics your your poor choice of almost everything I'm sorry one I'm giving him a 1.5 he gets a 0. five point 0.5 for bringing in Diego coaching might be an important important recruit and he brought him into Camp so he gets a 0. five um but but dude just can we like just change your name to Mike like isn't that your name your name is Mike yeah and also the weird little hair with the like you don't look like a coach if I was a player and Mikey vus was my coach I'd be like this looks like the kit boy like this a ball boy right he doesn't act he doesn't have the Charisma or the aura or the presence of a coach the dude played Ricardo Pepe on the right wing yeah this I'm saying baffling decision he played Kade cow twice he also got he also got called out by Jesse Marsh just saying he was gonna play I Was expect he's a burh halter guy I expected him to play like burh halter and he played like burh halter Jesse Mar Lally called him out and by the way you also have him basically blaming the players after the Canada game which I actually agree with him the the mentality is on the players but as a coach when you blame the players publicly which is what he learned from berhalter right Balter used to do that it makes you look very shitty because as a coach you always take the responsibility I don't think I set them up with the right mentality you know but it was always well the mentality was bad and that's on the players so whenever a coach is is immediately blaming players that's not a good look Mikey no um again you you can know the players made a mistake and you can talk them in private and expose that but coming out and just blaming out the play and and what tab almost said sure the players have to be motivated regardless but your job as a coach you are essentially in charge of this group you have to get them fired up you have to get them focused U I always I've said this many many times too um there's no like people disagree with this but there's usually no such thing as a bad employee it's usually a bad boss um what do I mean by that of course there are bad employees but what I mean is like if you as a boss you were not able to get that person to execute the game plan of whatever was in life not not just soccer just anything in life you failed as a boss like oh but he's a terrible employee doesn't matter if you are good enough persuasive enough charismatic enough and you can get that employee to work you will get it um coaching is managing people mostly no yeah it's managing people and if you can't do that you have no business being a coach um Chad Pete's gonna put your Super Chat there in a second we're just I'm gonna read all the super chats in just a second guys I just didn't want to interrupt the flow yeah we want to finish the ratings but anyhow 1.5 to Mike EV vadas he's gonna get to your super chat chat don't worry so Jeff says Tac gets a 6.9 oh boy Derek a 6.5 Pete a seven and I felt my supporter thought I was on my games my game so an eight for me the sheep and [ __ ] bet a 10 well I I hope you're having a good night there Jeff um James barus God it seems po has a lot of work to do please get in tomorrow Mauricio we need you now yeah Mauricio has a lot of work to do but the good news is it can't get any worse guys it really can't by the way if if he's ready to work he should be meeting with the players in Europe already having and some talks this not waiting for Camp going around Europe he's already in Europe go talk to every single player you have a month do that yeah and I'm sure he will we might even see him at games you know with the when we watch our guys play in Europe might they might cut to him in games and I hope he meets with the players and actually like gets some information data on what happened I hope the players are honest and I hope the players hold themselves accountable right I don't think they all will but I think he'll be able to sniff out who's who is what um I have a lot of faith and guys last one here from Chad Johnny Musa [ __ ] overhyped because they are duels I'm gonna let you answer that one Tac depends on what you mean by overhyped right like let's say you remove term yeah let's let's let's put it into perspective Chad okay Musa does he not deserve to be in the roster right he does uh and then and then then Johnny he was starting he is going to be a starter for real Bettis pelo talked to him he started off at the midweek team because he came in later in preseason he's going to be a starter for betties and what he did in La Liga the past six months did he not deserve a shot in the roster they were both poor this camp and if you keep playing like this you're not going to get playing time but no one is like saying to their locked starters everyone's been saying they need to get Chance well Musa had a lot of but we're saying Johnny needs to get a shot because we think he can bench Tyler he has not shown anything to that any evidence that shows that he can bench a healthy Tyler Adams so it's kind of like complicated to say he's overhyped but yes if you if anyone's saying these are elite players these are worldclass players they should be locked in started for the then they're overhyping but that's what I keep saying when people say someone's overhyped I need to know what is the hype that you're talking about like what are you referring to think they yeah like people think these players are better than they are that's my favorite one it's like which people and what do you think people think these players are so I can answer your accusation it's it's a little tough to answer because it is so subjective I don't think anyone thinks Johnny or Musa are world class players or even locks to Star for the US on the contrary so it depends on what you mean by overhype yeah if Chad for example let's say you were talking to your buddy and he's like Johnny and Musa could play for any club in the world they could start like yeah your budd's overhyping them um so I don't I don't know what you what you mean by that I don't think they're overhyped in my opinion I think they're good players and they can help the US Men's National Team but they have a lot to prove if they want to be starters roster they seem like roster players right now yeah uh little behind have you seen pul ack interview which one after the game I think he had one after I don't I don't know what he said I don't know what he said either so I can't really speak to it but guys it is time to close the door on the burh halter era it is officially over yes I know it was officially over when they fired him but they still had his little Aaron boy Mikey running [ __ ] and now we have pettino finally once and for all we can say goodbye to that bald fraud and all of his little minions and we can finally move on to the Mauricio portino era which I have a lot of faith and a lot of positivity for T and I have been accused often of being too negative but I think in the end over the course of the burter era we were proven right that this team is in big trouble and that this culture of this team despite what the media and bur halter tried to tell us was in a very very bad place and we hope to God that B that uh pochettino can come in and fix it do you have any last words tag no I think now we need to try to be a bit more positive of course um of course uh like right now now there's several reasons to be negative but let's look forward like for the first time in many many years we have a legitimate coach and we do have talent in this team and let's let's let's give pochettino a shot and who knows maybe in October we beat Panama beat Mexico and we immediately already start to turn up and get the hype back up but I want I really want to go to the world cup with a very positive mindset about this team I want to go believing I want to go to the World Cup believing this team can make a Deep Run I don't want to go down I don't want to be depressed with it so so that's all I want to say the burh halter era is officially done today and I think you want to read that real quick Tac the interview said that poch would bring a change so I guess he means pulisic said he would bring a change in mentality and culture and make them fight harder good but really you shouldn't need a coach to make you fight harder and I think that's what poch has to address the mentality of the team and the motivation needs to come from within and hopefully P addresses it um but I'm glad that pic is talking about culture because he's been part of the problem with the culture let's be honest he's been part of the problem with the culture of this team mostly by advocating for Greg Balter for as long as he did so it's a new um it's a it's a fresh it's a blank slate poino is here it's a blank Spate it's a blank slate I hope it is the future is bright I will say that I still believe the future is bright now that we have a legitimate coach and I'm looking forward to it T's going to do the seven things we learned tomorrow yeah I think there's enough lessons you I can get it good um and I will do the patreon post and then I will never have to do a patreon post game Wrap Up Under The Balter era again so I'm very pleased about that have a great night everybody we return this weekend oh Friday is the interiew is the LI the uh the reveal of patino I'm probably gonna do a reaction to his press conference not live but when they have it out and just what he asked I'm so curious to what he's going to say in that opening press conference and and what he's going to say about this team so we'll see have a great night guys see you soon smash the like button before you go and thank you to bet online where the game starts
