out of the Jets camp today Robert Salah announcing that receiver Mike Williams would take team Reps for the first time of course Williams coming off that torn ACL so another step in the right direction for him and look New York needs Williams healthy and playing he's averaged 15.9 yards per reception in the last five seasons first in the NFL among the 81 players with at least 300 targets the Jets ranked 31st in the NFL in yards per reception as a team last season excited to see how this affects Garrett Wilson too Hawk how big of an ad is Mike Williams to this Jets offense it's a huge ad it's a huge ad because it it it forces defense to play their passing game honestly like if Garrett Wilson is going to feel that Devonte Adams style role that we're used to seeing Aaron Rogers with and he will he's an incredible player this will prevent defenses from being able to play him with too much attention and too much over the top because you'll have a guy on the other end who was a great down to field threat incredible in 50/50 balls and again just a a realistic and uh complete number two receiver the question is how quickly can he get back up to speed coming off of that ACL injury and getting used to running getting used to you know doing it when the bullets are flying because there is a domino effect that if he's not able to in quick enough time and you're allowed to put that kind of attention on GAR Wilson it then affects the Run game and then again it throws his whole offense out of whack so so Mike Williams being back healthy is huge for the New York Jets yeah again they got about 133 days before this game so we'll see how up to speed he can get in that time before the opener let's go to the other side of the ball where pass pressure Hassan reic is still a no- show for the Jets but is coach Robert Salah concerned about him playing week one I'm assuming he's in phenomenal shape you know like I said he's a he's a veteran he's he knows what he needs to get ready um you know he's had success in multiple buildings and multiple schemes uh with multiple coaching staffs and so he's going to know what he needs to do to be ready for week one so he still has plenty of time he posted a video did you see it just working out one of those did it look good it's hard to tell after that press conference Salah was like let me check this video out Adam he sounds optimistic about reic playing should he be listen again we're at the point in the calendar Laura where teams and players have to make moves there hasn't been any movement between the Jets and a sound reic so there's nothing that would give you any hope right now other than the fact that it is in late August and their regular season opener is 13 days from now so there is a pressure point in terms of the regular season beginning but right now Assan reic has already racked up close to $2 million in non forgivable mandatory fines by not being in training camp so you just wonder how much longer he's willing to to push this clearly he's determined to get what he wants here he's been unwilling to budge so far the Jets want him in Camp before their talking contract he wants a new contract before he goes to camp and so there's a star down that nobody has won all Sumer long and continues to linger into the start of the Season yeah Boogie probably didn't feel great about any of this you think reck needs some time to mesh with the team before getting out on the field if uh this hold out ends well I don't know needs time to mess with the team but he definitely needs time to get in football shape here's something for everyone out there to understand you can run all the wind Sprints you want to run you can run up and down every Hill in your hometown but until you strap that helmet on and put that mouthpiece in and somebody hits you you can't get in football shape so I get it he may be in the greatest shape of his life just like every NFL player was this off season but you got to come in you got to go through the grind you got to callous your body up hul how many times have we heard coaches tell us that training camp is to callous your body up get those muscles ready to go and Hassan Reddit listen the Jets made a mistake by trading for him and not giving him a new deal so that's already out there if I'm him I would I would probably not come in and tell the Jess hey you want me in sign me and add two and a half to three million on top so I can pay my fine so I can break even when this deal is over because you knew exactly what I wanted when you traded for me but as far as football shape Laura there's only one way to get in football shape that's to play football yeah it's fascinating because I I truly Wonder as Adams talked about they want him there in person before they want to do a new deal and Hassan rag doesn't want to come there I don't know what's going to ultimately make this change but we got 13 days is to figure it out let's get to some more top stories Adam what more can you tell us about players being added or removed from the pup list let's start in Miami yeah they're leaving Odell Beckham Jr on the physically unable to perform list still recovering from an offseason procedure that he had and he will be ineligible to play the first four games of the Season Miami knew this was a possibility it's what they expected they have other receivers to buy time until he could come back and he now will miss the first four games of the Season as will the the Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higby he suffered that big knee injury at the end of last year he's going to open the season on the pup list toward the ACL towards MCL in the playoff loss so just a devastating injury at that point in time still recovering from it the Rams still are hoping to get him back this season and the Minnesota Vikings are hoping to get back their tight end TJ hackinson in week five as early as week five but he's not going to be able to play the first four weeks after he tore his ACL and MCL on Christmas Eve last year against the line so still a very strong recovery from hackinson he's been spotted at training camp running around looking good but he's not there enough to where the team wants to keep him on the roster he now will be ineligible to play the first four games this season Laura yeah it makes sense that BG was telling us he's got to get that callous football shape as well we'll see if he can do that by week five and by the way last year with hackinson First full season with the Vikings he thrived he was top two among tight ends in receptions receiving yards per game 20 yard catches and first downs Hawk does hawis staying on the pup hurt the offense with quarterback Sam darnold now under Center absolutely the biggest question mark for the Minnesota Vikings offense is Sam darnold and his ability to kind of make up for what they're losing in Kurt Cousins heading to Atlanta now how do you do that you do that with the weapons they have and they are a deep team we know that Addison has some injury things going on but they added Jones obviously you get Jefferson back on the outside but hackinson is essentially your number two wide receiver like what he was able to provide for that pass game should not be understated like those numbers aren't flukes if you ever watch watch him play he is one of the best young tight ends in the NFL so not having him out there puts even more pressure on Sam darnold without the weapons that you know he came into the season hoping to have early on yeah H I would agree with you it puts more pressure on Sam Donn but here's what I would say because of the play caller and the head coach and Kevin okono because of Jordan Addison because of Justin Jefferson I think you can figure out a way to spread those touches that hackinson was going to get spread those around let's not forget Aaron Jones comes over from Green Bay they're going to split him out some you're going to see two backs in the back field Little Pony Personnel I think Coach O Connell is going to figure out a way to make up for the touches that TJ hackinson will get and spread him around and I think Sam Donal although a tight end is usually a quarterback's best friend I think Sam Don is going to be just fine with all the weapons that he has there in Minnesota yeah the Vikings averaged a half yard more per play with hackinson on the field last season BG you may be right though just spread it out to somebody else that offense can get really creative all right coming up rookie Drake May impressed in the
