Harris-Trump debate night in Philadelphia; Delaware primary day is here | Digital Brief

morning everyone I'm Jim Donovan with your morning digital news brief for Tuesday September 10th vice president kamla Harris and former president Donald Trump will face off tonight here in Philadelphia the debate will be held in Old City at the national Constitution Center Battleground State polls show that only razor thin margins separate the two presidential hopefuls including right here in Pennsylvania Harris arrived in Philadelphia last night while Trump is scheduled to get here later this evening the debate will begin at 9:00 p.m. you can stream it here on CBS Philadelphia it's primary election day and Delaware primaries are being held for contested races only the races to watch the nominees for us house the gubinatorial race as well as the nominees for a mayor of Wilmington if you're voting in person you must vote at your assigned polling place polls open at 7 and close at 8:00 tonight school is in session today for Woodbury and depford schools after administrators there made the decision to cancel school yesterday because of threats posted online police are arrested for juveniles in connection with the threats officials say there will be increased police presence at all of the South Jersey schools impacted by the threats and resources will be made available to students who need them now let's get a check of the forecast here's meteorologist Grant Gilmore in our next weather sphere hey Grant hey good morning Jim and good morning to you guys at home uh we're starting off our day great conditions out there great day ahead temperatures on their way to the low 80s this afternoon most these sunny skies in Philadelphia pretty much mostly sunny skies everywhere you go 78 degre down the shore 79° in the Lehigh Valley all of this great weather compliments of this blocking Ridge of high pressure that high pressure system not only keeping our weather great but it will also keep Francine west of our area Francine forecast to strengthen to a category 2 hurricane as it approaches landfall on Louisiana on Wednesday all the while all that tropical moisture which could bring devastating floods to portions of the Southern Mississippi Valley that will all stay to the West that blocking high pressure system continues to bring us great weather we'll start to see some High Cloud streaming well advanced of Francine but still most of the impacts will stay out of our area and our forecast continues to look just like it does today 81 degrees out there today we'll see temperatures tonight drop back down to 59 degrees and then tomorrow afternoon we're going to warm back up into the lower 80s with that continue gradual warming Trend as we head through the next s days have a look at the next weather 7-day forecast those temperatures climb back into the middle if not upper 80s as we head through the weekend keeping partly cloudy skies and seasonable conditions into early next week Jim back over to you thank you grant and remember you can always get Grant's most up-to-date forecast and the latest stories right here on CBS philadelphia.com that's the latest for the morning digital brief I'm Jim Donovan make it a great day
