it's the state semifinals a win tonight would clinch your spot in the super seven next week in Auburn and we had an all-north Alabama showdown in class 2A 5 hosting Pisgah tonight out in Fight The Red Devils hosting the Eagles for their eighth semi-final game in 10 seasons Fife is known for running them but they went to the air for their first score Blake Dobbins has Hunter Machin wide open in the end zone for six but of course the Red Devils would find success on the ground Brody Hicks he's going to force his way across this time as the Red Devils would go up two scores but Pisgah would have an immediate response this time Mason Holcomb to Luke Gilbert he escapes the first two tackles and then he's got open field Ryder Gibson makes the tackle but Gilbert gets the ball over the line touchdown Eagles Unfortunately they wouldn't score again until the fourth quarter as Fife ran away with this one dominating 41-14 as they head to yet another State title game game after the win head coach Paul Benefield spoke about what this opportunity means to him and his guys oh man it's awesome it means a lot more see these kids smiling faces you know glad they got to go they last year you know all the they felt like they'd let the school down in the community but they hadn't they hadn't let anybody down they've they worked hard and they deserve to be going all right so here's a look at who the Red Devils will be playing in the state championship game next Friday afternoon at three o'clock it will be BB Comer who took down Highland home tonight 44-15 it'll be the first ever meeting between the two schools all right let's move our attention to the 3A State semifinals the Sylvania Rams in action tonight hoping to punch their ticket to the super seven to get on a talented Piedmont Bulldogs team in the Bulldogs wasting little time going to work Jack Haynes connects with Ishmael Bethel for the early score but Piedmont wouldn't stop there they keep their foot on the gas again Haynes looking to pass again connects with Bethel it's another score for the Bulldogs Haynes had three touchdown passes in the first half even got it done on the ground tonight the Rams had no answer for Piedmont their magical season comes to an end on the road tonight in the state semifinals 55-22 the final the Rams they finish their season with an impressive 10-4 record moving our attention to the six day playoffs the Mountain Brook Spartans Intel to take on a muscle Shoal with a spot in the state championship game on the line Trojans Cole wood with quarterback draw up the middle for a huge gain to bring the Trojans in Spartan territory and that would set up this 20-yard pass from Seth Mosley to Bryant Basden who makes the sliding grab into the end zone to put Muscle Shoals up early 7-0 then late in the first quarter the Spartans offense down to spark thanks to Cole gamble that put Mountain Brook on the board all tied up at seven second quarter more from gamble this time he finds his way all the way down to the one-yard line and then that sets up a wildcat play for gamble he's into the end zone Mountain Brook up 14-7 the Spartans would continue their attack and in the end it's Mountain Brook headed to the 6-8 title game with a 28-7 win over Muscle Shoals ending their incredible season I I guess you know people never look at us as as being able to contend for a championship and I think you know our guys pleased a lot of people wrong you know so uh I I think that's special that these guys you know accomplished something you know we were in 5A last time we went to the finals and uh it's the first time in 6A we've been this far and so you know the sky's the limit
