school football week two is getting ready to get kicked off Thursday night we got a game Friday same thing with college football Thursday night Colorado I think it's Northern who is it North Dakota State yeah Friday night Oklahoma temple and then it gets it on we get it on baby all day all night Saturday college football Sunday LSU USC Brian Kelly year three is he Elite coach that he get a championship this year we will see then Monday night can they bounce back Florida State they just lost a big defensive lineman did you hear about that no I did not yeah look at my Facebook that's not good and I think they lost him for the year I didn't write his name down cuz I thought you would have it so no we shall safe Brian how you doing sir missed you I think I'm here yeah how did your uh travels go uh made it in one piece both places so you know I guess it went fine you got them all straightened out throughout the southeast of course not that's good at least you that keep you walk cat what's going on back there man oh man that's a weird day my doctor's got me on new medicine yeah you look like you're more drug I feel a little different he does he's sitting on the ceiling I will say I did do one positive thing when I was on the road I reclaimed a little bit of money from the state of Mississippi and brought it back to the State of Florida tax base there you go good job not a lot I'm glad you won not a lot before you start asking for lunch but a little glad you won brother speaking of lunch good God asked somebody out tell to buy my little salad and they ordered fish anyway whatever it didn't bother me how you doing Glenn I'm doing wonderful how about yourself I'm doing pretty good we know well let's get into I haven't talked to you to yet about it uh FSU I tell everybody calm down everything's ahead of them they can still they can make the playoffs everything like dead gone and buried here's people what people understand you know remember when we did the Simo Shuffle the next game they got that was the first game of the year I think and then remember we were I think one or two and a little team called Southern Miss came in with a Brett far far the South yes sir so they didn't hollerer Bowen's head so we we talked about this Monday afternoon but it's something we talked about all last year is that there's going to be a natural time frame for people to adapt because for so many years every game mattered so much y that it's just natural to freak out and oh the sky is falling and this look there's reason to be concerned and want to make some improvements but yeah The Season's not over by any stretch of the you're going to have more and more games like the NFL in the future we're not going to know who to pick I mean there's there's some be kind that loaded with great rosters but you don't know the chemistry of the team you know who's going to get injured you know who's going to f the ball you're not going to know about penalties we just that's what we love about it though but I'll be honest my initial reaction was up they're done and then I was like no they're not but but we're just so conditioned to that from the past that that I get it yeah we may not be able to C this FSU but uh I want and janys Robinson made what team did you the Raiders uh these are the these guys made the 53 man roster uh Jordan Travis with the Jets Trey Benson Cardinals Keon coin with the Bills Johnny Wilson with the Eagles hem Bell with Patriots uh Jared verse and also Brandon fis fis made with the Rams matter of fact verse called him and told him he was going to be a ram that thought pretty hey hey stop that breaking news read that do you know who that's from no Gordy really yeah who is it I don't know Kansas they're playing number two22 Kansas L Lenwood oh Lenwood that's G versus Kansas Gordy yeah Gordy what are they paying are they're going to make a million dollars to go play them well you know after Gordy left there it just hadn't been the same his statue is gorgeous up there he's got that thong on though you know most people they put him in a uniform or street clothes Gordy has that bayong on other thing Tatum bethon made the 49ers cornerback Jer Jerry and Jones and no and I didn't think we could get the other stuff in Renardo green 49ers and then then the two guys that were actually waved was the linebacker Kellen Delo from the Buccaneers and aim Dent from the Chargers they were waved so hopefully somebody else pick them up but those are the ones we had made it and uh yeah Gordy we had a bunch of guys that went to lyen woods so we had the beay high lyen Wood Connection gy was an unbelievable football player great lman yes sir highly intelligent goodlooking married a beautiful wife beautiful kids I like his kids they they they I'm going to give him credit both him and his wife they did a great job r those boys that's they really outstanding kids the other thing too is they sent them to the wrong high school but that's okay we'll forgive them so well they wanted an academics well I don't know what school you're talking about not going to but anyway I wouldn't cut down anybody anything connected to you I let's take this phone call I bet I know who it is good morning good morning it's the outlaw member of the Nashville gang I'm glad to see the other two or there or here I don't see you don't see on radio or the phone and I was educated to say I hear breaking news how bad must you be to be the outlaw what Mike this in a clown call okay yeah the number one recruit in maybe the country for the 20 uh six class is a uh quarterback over in North Carolina and he has a radio show and he is suing the state school board to allow him to make money now uh considering the way George McIntyre II uh performed last week mainly due to his crappy teammates at brenwood Academy the ball fans are probably slobbering over this guy but uh I am not but that is true there there are 23 States I think or maybe off by a number that allow nil for uh high school athletes I can't remember is Florida one of them yes sir yep yep well I'm all making money it's a capitalist country the market side things you may tell that I don't you know I don't want to go down to Adam Smith Road but this is happening and uh since you gentlemen uh and uh of course I know people who are personally on the Brentwood Academy versus twsa website not website what am I saying the uh lawsuit the great lawsuit that went all the way to the Supreme Court like maybe twice back in the early 2000s yeah you know and uh I hate that as a former lawyer I hate it that lawyers get involved in in things like this but when conflicts arise that's what you go to and uh I've got one more uh two more things Brian one of our two6 Olympic gold medalist ladies just got back from a tour of the Middle East and she went to places that mosad would not go to to entertain our troops you know and and she's back safely in North Carolina she went to foresight Country Day I can't remember her name gold medalist bronze medalist you probably know it but yeah I'm sure I would yeah it's one of those things that passes it's in years I do have a question for Coach hail since Alabama question uh who's your favorite Alabama quarterback that you actually saw cuz I don't know you know I know you can't remember Pat traml who was or uh I don't remember actually actually saw or met it' probably be Kenny Stabler I like Kenny I met well I mean saw play saw that's where I start actually I did not I saw I'm aware of neth as a in my memory and I knew he went to Alabama you know who my two favorite Alabama quarterbacks are who are they conridge Holloway and T Martin go have a greatek do not take any more calls right ever again he got me pretty good with that I didn't know where he was going either that was a good no the two getting into that Bart Star I met Bart star with a little boy he threw the ball to us Ben Ben Starfield was named after his daddy behind Seth John High Elementary met him he played lanir where I did he came and saw me at laner he's one of my favorite Alabama quarterbacks Joe name is got to be my alltime favorite play for the Jets he was a superstar loved him but Kenny staer I met Kenny Glenn with the day that Mike Shuler got fired ironbow after iron he was doing radio and they had the recruits in this particular restaurant we were in there and Kenny staer is a I didn't realize how tall he was I mean you you watch him on TV they look that tall because the Lin so big that shot that shot said dang he's he's a big he was every bit of 6364 oh yeah he had cowboy boots on that day but he was such a nice man good man really good man I can't tell you where I met Kenny Stabler so we'll just leave that one but idea I know I I think I told you this in a weird way this is probably my favorite because he was the first real Alabama quarterback like I half remember Richard Todd and Jeff rutage but I was young Richard Todd but my guy he probably wasn't one of the better quarterback Walter Lewis was my guy because that's when I really fell in love with being an Alabama fanly mobile no no he just he was the Alabama quarterback when I really became an Alabama fan was Walter I remember coming up he won the punt kick contest Littles all who we got good morning good morning oh Gator man what are you doing I'm just on my way to work I just wanted to see how coach Manley was feeling this morning I feel wonderful I'm north of the dirt and you know bounces back man Glenn actually you don't understand I was with Glenn watching the game he gets a call no ask him should we try it now and Glenn goes go for it and they ran manly left and got two point two point that's that's Glenn I saw that did I not call you when I saw that yeah you did Manley's calling plays in FSU unbelievable only thing is I didn't I didn't get my cut of the10 million when I saw that so I told I looked at my wife and and uh when cuz she was watching it that's one of the only times she'll watch football with me because she's Florida State fan but uh I watched it and they went for two and I looked at her and I said the game's over she said oh I know we're going to win I said no you just made the other team very mad well usually it makes them confused when they but you know the that's the great time to pull it the first game of the year they haven't seen it and then I knew soon as he jetted that guy over of course I didn't see it till the replay but when yeah when he jetted that guy over there's nobody else over there so you know well I've seen that that's automatic is it yeah it is it is hey Travis we we honestly all of us in here in the studios everybody I've talked to we weren't shocked about it we thought it would be a closed football game we didn't think it I don't think anybody here thought you tell me if I'm wrong I don't we any of us picked in the cover I thought it' be really close and well I thought it would be the other way around I think Florida state would win at the end I didn't think it' be you know they drove down there and I thought they had a chance but the other thing too was you know I'm sure Georgia CCH got tired of hearing that all week I I mean you know oh yeah you know so anyway but you know people to forget we had talked about this earlier that uh we were ranked number one in the little team from Southern M came in with Brett Fab and beat our tail and then we weren't little either well I know it but uh they just got rid of Coach H so they met improve the team but anyway thank you but then then they did the Simo Shuffle and Miami kicked our tail so you know uh all is not lost we still got time and it's like Brian and I Brian discussed you you felt really bad but then all a sudden you go wait a minute there's 12 teams going in now not four so you know you you still got to work for and U I'll tell you some things about Boston College and it but you know today is a only mostly Florida day so you shouldn't be upset and everything so we're we're set I just wanted to call and say today March a week since I said he did that Florida state was G to take their first loss he you're the only one I know that said it well here let me ask this question how's the gator feeling here Gators are ready man they're ready to roll oh yeah I'm ready I'm ready I going to have a a little rubber suit for Glenn and we clean him up well after the J Michaels visit you didn't do it Monday I just got hos down he had Brian he had fish every grease all over him face the game Friday night huge football game big crowd Arnold gets it done talk about it give us a little rundown and give us some names of players that played well for you and what your general thoughts are of the game last Friday yeah you know first thing man shout out to um you know shout out to my my my buddy coach Griffin man he he had his kids ready to ready to play I mean they they play played well um you know we we felt like defensively we felt like um it felt like we played uh like we played really well on defense we saw uh thought TJ Davis from Zack Ro varis Manley U we thought those guys played uh played really well Kobe Smith played really well on defense um you know offensively um you know it's one of those crazy games coach I'm sure you've been a part of before I mean we um we had over 300 yards offense and scored scored eight scored seven points I mean um you know we just couldn't couldn't finish drives um couldn't um you know couldn't finish in the Red Zone um so you know we had to we had to you know we had to lick our wounds and um get back to work on Monday and um you know kind of our Focus this week and practice has just been uh you know execution and effort and finishing you know finishing team periods and and and finishing you know inside the Red Zone during our goal line period and um you know and now you know moving on and you know trying to get ready for trying to get ready for Friday night coach coach coaches I should say uh let's hang up and let me call him on another line and see if I can't clear this up so we can hear what Jeremy don't we're g I watched I watched about 30 minutes of it I fell asleep in he couldn't recall if he was on the sidelines or not it was it was interesting I I do have to say Mike McMullan sent me a pretty funny text he was like everybody needs to be thanking Michigan because our cheating scandal got the helmet coms for everybody in college football that is true I do believe that anyway we we're get Jeremy Brown back on the phone you know week one Glenn kicking game so important and I saw mistakes on both teams in the kicking game and that can get you beat quicker than anything my hey Jeremy we got you back yes sir okay I want to talk about you I was telling them especially early in the year your kicking game in a Clos game it can kill you any game and I saw mistakes on both teams early in the year week one kicking games talk about that if y'all got everything your snaps gotten better if you worked on that give us a little rundown on all your special teams yeah you know it's um it's it's really crazy because um you know we went over to um over to Wakulla um you know right there before the season started and did a little scrimmage against some of the schools in Tallahasse and um we did a whole period you know Punt and you know Ken was great snapping the ball and um you know last week in um nville we didn't have um we didn't have any issues I mean that was one of the bright spots was the snaps in the kicking game and um you know Friday night I don't you know I think maybe the you know maybe the environment um you know that kind of stuff all you know you never know with you know especially when your Long Snapper you know our Long Snapper Ken man he he he play he starts on offense defense and he's always on the field so um you know that that might have played a little bit into it um so that's something we had to you know we kind of had to look into this week as you know how many snaps he's um you know how many snaps he's taken and because we we need him available to you know to kick the ball and um you know and so just you know just we we definitely spent U we spent we spent more time on it Monday and um yesterday than we um than we normally do because you know when you you know when the the squeaky you know the the squeaky wheel gets to grease you know what I mean and the things that we felt like we didn't we didn't do well you know we didn't do well Friday night you know what I mean um you know and unfortunately you know the the bad snap with the with the safety you know what I mean we we still feel like the game shouldn't have shouldn't have came down to you know to that or or field goal at the end of the game um you know we um you know we just we felt like at the end of the day we just didn't we didn't finish drives we didn't we didn't get in the end zone and that's something we've got to that's something we've got to fix in a hurry let me ask you explain to everybody what your thought process was there cuz you know you hear things uh the not kicking a field goal running one more play tell and you but you had timeouts tell break what's your thought process if you don't mind I mean really it's up to you yeah um you know um you know a lot of the you know a lot of the pro you know a lot of the thought process you know um you know we the first extra point that we kicked it was very low um and almost got blocked and um you know we knew we had already had that snap was low and we knew that the the two punt snaps were you know we're low and one was high and one was low and and we did have a timeout and you know we we I wanted to exhaust every opportunity that we had to try to get in the end zone we felt like up front we we can knock those guys off the ball and get in the end zone um you know the the last play you know z z tried to make a play and he he played you know he he played a really really good football game was an MVP for us we thought he he gave us a really good chance you know to stay in the game and win the game and um you know obviously he did um he didn't plan on fumbling and we didn't think he was going to fumble and but when he when he you know when when he got tackled there was there was 2.3 seconds left and I still had a timeout right and um that was kind of the plan was um exhaust every opportunity um to get in the end zone and then you know last kind of the last you know last last resort was going to be to kick a um you know kick a field goal and you know last Thursday you know when we you know we really kind of show up our our our our our special team stuff um you know we didn't get to go outside on Thursday because of the weather and you know that that that played a little bit into you know not getting the normal amount of reps the snaping the hold in the kick that we normally do so and Coach you know as the head coach man you you you gota you know you gota you gota you gota think take all those things into consideration yeah and um you know and and and you know we met on it Sunday as a staff and you know I explained it to the staff and you know and told them and said guys to be honest with if we we were in the same situation again I'd probably do the same thing yeah um I felt like it was the I felt like it was the um you know in that moment in that game um that was the you know that was that was the best thing for us to do well coach you can't talk about this but I'm going to so there's two calls that I I really didn't like one was they called face mask which I think in high school is automatic 15 yards I thought and then they just changed it to five the other thing was they let the lineman push the pile the whole game but then all of a sudden on the goal line down there they mysteriously called pushing so you know I I saw coach H hold up a dollar or two and I didn't know if that was true or not but I know you can't talk about it but I can cuz they can't fire me so uh and I don't have to pay any money but anyway but I I thought I didn't think it was very good on either way on either side there were some calls that don't don't comment Jeremy I know no no I told him he can't I told him not to but anyway hey let me ask you this you got this week just I know it's early in season but you look at them so far they look like one of the best teams out there mosies look like they're loaded they're playing really well yeah talk about this give us a little Scout report we got about a minute yeah I think you know when you think about Moses man you you know the first guy that comes to mind is um you know is Sammy fedus I mean the quarterback I mean he's the most he's the most he's the most experienced quarterback in the county without a doubt maybe the one of the most experienced in in North Florida he's played a lot of games and um he he does a great job of running their um you know their offense and then um you know laavian um Jackson on defense and Wyatt Fleming man those guys Raiden Bruins man they've got they've got they got some dudes on defense man to get after you so they're um we've really got our work cut up for us Friday I mean you know we just hope we can keep it early keep it close early you know what I mean those guys put uh those guys put 63 on us last year and um and you know and and and they were not trying to take their foot off the gas pedal let's just say that at the end of the you know in the fourth quarter they were still they were still pushing the ball down field and um you know and so we um you know we we had to circle the wagons this week and um you know hopefully we can hopefully our kids can go out and that listened to me one big all right break it down what did you see what did you think about the ball game I I don't think they're dead gone buried I think they can bounce back like Alabama did last year I'm not real high on the quarterback but heck the offens and defense lines didn't play that well either what was your take on the game yeah I uh I really thought that uh Florida State's defense uh and lack thereof was the uh was really the the underlying factor I mean obviously they came out had a strong first drive obviously it was scripted the the plays uh you know so so they came out did did did well but then Georgia Tech just came back and and uh you know that that Florida State Defense is just not there and uh so I I see Florida State having a really rough time if they don't figure this out and uh my my my my advice to anyone looking for a for a you know money uh you know big game to bet on I would take Boston College in 17 points because oh yeah DC was a DC is a good team they you know they finished seven and six they played Florida State uh very very close last year and uh you know fsu's gota you know get over the jet lag from coming back from Ireland and uh you know I just I think it could be a really tough start for Florida State this year uh and uh you know I'm GL I'm glad they got to enjoy last year with Jordan Travis but DJ DJ ugal or whatever I can't say the last name ukulele ukulele he's just not the same player and they're not the same team if they don't have a defense to to to uh to kind of get them through their offensive struggles then you know they're they're they're gonna they're going to struggle even though they play in the one of the easiest conferences in America I watched the first series I called plays for 30 years and you could tell he was protecting that quarterback tried to give him things he felt like he could do and you you got to open it up you got to throw it down field I thought his best Drive was the uh right in the fourth quarter I thought he played his best there they got good receivers they got to get the ball those Playmakers downfield they can't just and you know you know the offensive coordinator wasn't there I think people forget that he's not going to be there for the next two games yeah so when he gets back he go he get to go to practice near but he can't be on the side coach I'm with Dr Ward I would not touch that 17 points man maybe I'm crazy but I would down 15 and a half now yeah um good I got I got it with 17 doc what you know we see these these polls all these experts this year I think you're going to have a hard time picking games everybody's going to be pretty competitive everybody's got some players but anything stands out to you any team overrated any team underrated that you look at so I I I I I sent this to you yesterday so uh Brett McMurphy who I I really like as a as a college football analyst he he looked at the uh he looked at the last 10 years of preseason polls where people were ranked and where they finished and he basically made a list of the kind of kind of overrated teams to start seasons and I actually think it's a pretty good list to to go by on you know where teams are likely to to to fall out this year uh he he he said the most overrated team no no a lot of people listen to aren't going to like this but but Auburn was the most overrated team in the last decade yeah uh USC was number two Wisconsin was number three A&M was number four LSU was number five Texas number six Oregon number seven Oklahoma number eight Miami number nine and Florida State number 10 as the most overrated teams in college football in the last decade wow I saw that that was interesting uh we shall see I like looking at Crystal Ball I watch there uh and I go back when I'm bored and have anything to do I kind of look and say who who was pretty good at the beginning in this preseason after the season was over and they usually do pretty good compared to most of the other ones looking forward to that but look at look at Chris Ball where's he head coach he's head coach that Oregon and Miami and they're both teams that in the last 10 years have been the most highly ranked and fell flat so I I I don't see where the love of crystal ball this is something different this is a this is a company that he's talking about Crystal oh not ball I thought you were talking I thought you were trying to hyp up Miami no he see he doesn't know how to pronounce a lot of things y'all can't hear something's wrong with all you guys hear something's wrong with everybody Sunday I want to watch LSU and USC I think that'll be a highsc scoring game who wins that one and then Monday night and you know doc you said something I've been thinking back my mind too you travel way I think this is a tight football game that feeling you have is gas so I just want I feeling you're about to experience doc Miami this is going to be their Super Bowl they play better you know nobody goes their games at home they play better on the road I think they're going to be ready to play this is going to be a war how's it going to go out how's this thing going to play out doc give us a little rundown what you think is going to happen so you know the swamp is going to be packed out um you know you got 80,000 screaming Gators and we hate Miami even even though we don't play them a ton uh Miami does tend to play a little bit better earlier in the season than later in the season so I do I do foresee it being a close game uh but I just think at the end of the day the swamp is going to bring it home for the Gators uh I I do think we cover I mean it's 're we're we're three-point dogs at home um and I I think we probably win by seven or 10 all right we got the Gators across the board we don't have a lot of time I want to ask you all we got to go quick on these we have time to do and I didn't think we would Ohio aan Ohio State everybody got the Buckey State yep Jim Brand's got akan uh Michigan Fresno State everybody got Michigan yeah but it's going to be closer than it should be well I agree yeah that that one that one that one actually have circled as a SEC on the road are so tough the environments are tough the players are great everything's going to be tough on Bama uh we shall see what if he's right or wrong I always think that year one is the hardest regardless but then I look at his schedule for year two when you got FSU your non-c converence and Wisconsin and the SEC I think year two is going to be tougher than year one for him uh I would be okay that's a lie I wanted to win every game but I could live with them going 10 and two I think everybody's going to have at least one loss in the SEC and maybe two who knows Glenn you know the SEC what do you think what kind of year is it going to be for dorg his first year I I think um they they've got a stronger team than a lot of people think they do uh from who the people that still there and also some of the recruits he picked up you in transport portal um I 10 to two sounds really good to to me uh you know and being in this the conference again like you said anybody can slip up and U be if you don't have your aame so 10 and two sounds realistic Brian he also made a good point you know sav's gone he said other players other coaches now believe Bama will be different they believe they actually can beat Bama now because in the past when Alabama walk on that field a lot of didn't believe they could beat him what do you think what what's year one going to be like for theor um I I'm less worried about the opponents feeling like they can beat Alabama than I am and I mentioned this a few weeks ago the first time they have adversity you know are the players so bought in and deor and all like that like with Sabin there was this notion even when you went at halftime down it was like things are going to work out you know this is Nick Sabin this Alabama is that same mindset in the back of the players mind when they first get behind when they first have a halftime deficit when they first go into the fourth quarter behind so so that's the part I think honestly it's going to go fairly well but everything is going to come down to to me the progression of Jaylen milroe under this offensive staff and if this offensive line is as good as I've been hearing that's going to be huge for them the problem is coach you know this we've heard this you know how they've recruited the greatest offensive line in history three years ago and and they were garbage quite frankly so I I don't know there's a lot left to be out there but I would expect generally the year to go pretty well Alabama gets in on the back half of the playoff and fans are mostly content in year one you know Alabama's Got Talent there's no doubt about that the board can coach look at his record the guy knows what he's doing the players like him I've heard nothing but positive things about him and the big deal is they're used to winning they don't think they can win they know they can win it Alabama they've done it every year seems like since that school's been there uh I think that's a big deal when you they don't they don't question yourself they got ability they've done it they've been there and we'll see uh 10 and two I I think is a realistic goal for Alabama uh Alabama versus Western Kentucky Saturday 6 o'clock desper Howard also surprisingly didn't give much love to Ohio state does that surprise anybody no he picked Oregon to win it all hey water is wet yeah he he didn't pick anybody from the SEC he got Oregon to win the national championship not Ohio State not Georgia uh we shall see and the head football coach at Oregon his record is 22 and5 and again two of those losses was now to Alabama's head coach NFL getting ready to get cranked up pretty soon on 31 32 rosters NFL rosters 31 of them have former Alabama players on their roster which is a record the only team that does not have a Bama player on it is the chico Chicago Bears and they're not very good um I want to ask both of you guys this though cuz I don't really watch NFL until later the playoffs what do you guys think Bryce young you know his last outing he was six of eight 70 yards one touchdown can he actually with he's under siiz can he be I know you can say anybody can be anything but really think about it will he be a star in the NFL yes or no if they can protect him he will be I think I you know again when you go from one League to the other the speed the speed of everything you know you have to be yeah you have to be catch up with that so it may take him a little learning experience but I think he probably could no U because of the system he's in I I don't believe in the Panthers I don't believe they're within the next 3 to five years going to really turn it around to the point where he can shine as a star um do I think he can be a somewhat effective starter yeah but one of the things you need to understand about BC is they have a new coaching staff this year also this is the first game for them okay they haven't played yet so uh we you know we played one so we got a you know one under our belt now uh the three ways to improve the defense this is from chop chat says number one of course I figured this out like the third quarter need to stack the Box because uh for the Run support because the quarterback from from from uh Georg Tech was actually a better Runner than he was a thrower all right so the same thing is going to happen this week with castellanus he is a better Runner than than he is a passer so we need to stack the box and make him beat us throwing the ball so and then also they need to create more leverage up front and that would be switching uh who's coming rush and who's not and you know just kind of mix it up and do some things like there and then the other thing they need to do is for the combination of linebackers you they lost two great linebackers the guys that made most of the tackles last year so we have to make sure we figure out how to do that one of the things that I was a little disappointed in was Marvin Jones Jr I didn't I think they decided at Georgia ter they going to run the ball right at him and see how he he handled it so hopefully he got some reads on that now there were some positive outlooks on the game if you know if you can do that for a loss but the kicker Ryan Fitz daral two 50 yard field goals one was 59 that's that's the second longest in FSU history and then of course you Janowski owns the other one so but then there was a 52 y okay so and now that you know that puts Ryan fish T really good for the Lou grower award so and then there was no turnovers on offense now that can be a plus and a minus uh of course you know you don't want to turn it over on offense that's great but that means if you don't have much uh turnovers you're not taking many chances on downfield throws you know and a lot of his throws are very short passes the whole game except for that last Drive uh he was uh 19 of 27 for 193 yards no interceptions but guess what no TDS so that was one of the other things and we got to figure out uh Jak Jake how excuse me I can't say it but Douglas the wide receiver he has to you know he's replacing two guys and we have to get the ball to him more he did catch it that last drive he caught four for 55 yards so that's that's a thing that uh we need to do and I think uh with the new uh with the a excuse me the offensive coordinator who is not at the game he is on the practice he would do a good job uh in the second half of you know making some changes on the offense and so I'm not sure he was there enough to do it um so anyway that has to change now these are some of the B predictions I didn't I mean wide prediction B predictions for 2024 I didn't make any of these These are done way before the season started so some of those we can get into and say yes or no um I want to get to the one of them is we will beat Florida and Miami for and win the state championship which you know that's like a a little trophy but anyway um you think they'll be able to beat Miami and Florida this year uh not too I don't know after watching week one I would say 50/50 okay all right Brian I don't like where Miami fits in that little schedule of like the four games there so that one scares me a little more than the Florida one at the end of the year I'll say yes for now but not terribly confidently I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to happen Saturday that way to that would have been easier but these are predictions before the season started uh one is uh before the season I say yes yes yeah that's what I'm saying but these are B predictions for 2024 so the one of them is Malik Benson 50 receptions for a th000 yards this year would could he do that uh after watching Friday need Improvement they don't throw it to him I didn't see a lot of passes down field right and then uh uh unle 3,000 yard 3,000 yards allpurpose yards I I after Saturday no so I don't think so and then uh royell Williams they said he'll get over 50 750 yard rushing yes yeah okay and then uh Kyle marlock the wide re I mean excuse me the tight end they say he'll have 40 receptions uh for 500 yards anything with the passing right now with that guy being the quarterback I say question and then the defensive line would have uh t 10 or more tackles for loss I would hope so um we had one or two the other day but not many and then uh the defense FSU will go undefeated that's like okay that's that was shot I got an idea on that one yeah we can pick that one then the other one number one was they would make it to the college playoffs they still can they still can I like Brian you know Saturday afternoon I was on suicide alert but you know but then you go oh crap there's 12 teams though you know they still have a chance now it's going to be tough uh they still have to beat Miami they still have to be they need to really try to win out even with another loss it's not done it's the old golf line they're out of Mulligan that's right that's true that's true so and then one of the other things was that the defense would allow fewer than 4.7 yards per play that was shot in the tail but uh they did 4.85 in 2022 and last year they went 13-1 but they still allowed 5.0 to for Rens but they were so good they people got a lot of yardage on first down but third down they kept stopping people they were in the top for that so I don't think that's going to happen this year I think unless they decide we're either going to be stronger in up front but they do have the talent in the secondary to uh cover those people but they got to put more pressure on the quarterback so you know so anyway the the biggest problem for them I I I just have never really believe in that cor we kept saying let's wait and see how you know with a guy with 40 40 games under his belt but you know I I think he he still did the same thing with he was secured with the ball all right but he this call go ahead good morning hey coach Bill Shields hey Bill hey Wild Bill I I got a I got a a comment got you got them rank one two three four what if what if uh let's just say Georgia and Auburn play for the SEC Championship Auburn's ranked number six and they beat Georgia Georgia now is not going to you're going to have number six rank team get a buy because they're conference Champion yeah y yeah I'm with you man this this to be screw you they they haven't they haven't eliminated any problems they just created a few more yeah that's true I think it should be the top 12 teams get in and no matter what conference you come from let's play the 12 I agree but they but hey people a lot smarter put his hand on the ground and the rest is history we knew he was going to be an unbelievable football player I really like the kid uh Carl was recruiting him and Carl was talking to me quite a bit during that week when we had him coaching him and Coach sper got him he was he almost went to nutre Dame his head football coach was a Catholic big Notre Dame guy really pushed him towards to go there and we kept talking to him said man if you you don't you love the great state of Florida goes yeah I do I said If You're Gonna live in Florida you need you have Florida to agree man I open a lot of doors up for you and he comes to Florida and he knocks it out of the ballpark the freak Javon kurur what they're gonna have him do in two bits is that what I heard exactly yeah talk about field before the game they they dress up some some guys dress up more as two bits and others they all tend wear the yellow shirt and the tie but some some do it more do it up more than others but they'll get out there and they have the place card that says two bits and they hold it up and they're looking up in the stands and getting everybody with the whistle blowing the whistle fired up and they do the two bits year and some of them make it I mean it is a dancing spectacle other people it's rather tame but um it's a lot of fun you know to honor Mr tuits who did that for so many years at Florida and having to freak to it I mean you know hey hint to Billy naer back way back when Steve spur actually had open practices and people could go and watch that guy on the practice field and all those other athletes and my goodness and people walked away looking at jaman kurur on the practice field at Florida saying you got to be kidding this guy is unbelievable of course as you said he had a great career yeah I to me he's one of the best ones ever play Florida 34.5 tackles for loss 16.5 sacks six Force fumbles one interception one fumble recover 19 pass breakups and 145 tackles solo tackles he's pretty good yeah remember coach and you know this but remember nobody he didn't know what he wanted to be when he went to Florida he he wanted to be a safety remember yeah and then he kept growing into that body and then he moved to linebacker and then he moved to DN and and Stoops was all too happy to have him Bob but I mean that guy played that guy played all three levels University of flid that's Insanity he could have been an unbelievable wide receiver is crazy that sound he could have been an unbelievable TIY and he could do it all the guy you should have seen him in high school it was like a man playing with boys I mean he was it was unbelievable it wasn't even close that's it had a great the freak is a great name for him he's unbelievable athlete he had a good he had thing they're going to do because it's going to be so hot there is they're passing out white fans I'm sure they say Gators on them with a sponsor on the back but yeah but they're passing those out so you see a lot of those in the stand and uh everybody encouraging everyone to wear a white T-shirt because it is a 3:30 kickoff um and it just yeah it it's going to be pretty miserable probably but uh as those first early games are but but um you know I guess you're going to probably have some people wear their their blue like doubt you'll see many Gator fans wearing the orange let me ask you uh I know one guy will be up in an air conditioned Press Box you got you got another seat beside you you want me to come help you I need to come spot for you you know it's it's funny I asked the young lady in charge of credentials when I picked mine up on Monday we all were giving our on Monday at the naor press conference and I said I said Alicia how many how many people are come CH a lot she Press Box can be pretty full she is there are a lot of people coming so I remember the days when the Press Box was but now with with so many cutbacks in the media industry now you probably have a half to maybe twoth thirds of the box full for any given game depending on who's there but this one will probably be 3/4 at least three quars full let me I want to ask you I've always wondered this how they treat you up there Alabama you get there they they feed you really well it's really good how is it Gainsville the same way they feed you all take care of y'all pretty good up in the Press Box they used to um they did now it's kind of it used to be all catered meals whatever when you know sometimes it was breakfast it was a 12:00 kickoff because we're in there usually an hour and a half to two hours right let's get into it what do you think man what about injuries did he give what's the SEC doing I thought this year they had to give it injury updates did that pass or what what's going on with the injury updates well you know yeah there there's some stuff they're going to have to do but I still see right now and it's all it's only Wednesday morning but I still see a lot of undisclosed you know with the injury stuff on the injury report um today though guys after your show is over we have the SEC coaches teleconference which we have weekly every Wednesday morning and so we'll see if they start to announce stuff there and and when that information might be released you know Napier Napier said hey you know guys I mean for us I mean you do that stuff in pregame when when the teams come out for pregame you have the coaches and you're assigned and you you looking across here and you're saying okay wait a minute this guy's missing they're missing a guy here or or this guy's over he he's over there in in wearing shorts in the in his jersey you know so he said you know that's the time when you kind of figured everything out but uh they're trying to make it more like the NFL as we know in college football so we'll see what happens when they release all that all right Mar we I've saw it last Friday night you know in a especially beginning of the year Glenn knows all about this beginning of the year kicking game so important is the quickest way to lose a game or win a game is in the kicking game what do you think how good is Florida going to be this year in the kicking game because it's going to be a close hardfought football game and it can be win or loss in the kicking game by either School how good is Florida going to be in Kick I'm talking about you know last year returning punts returning kickoffs how good will they be this year have you seen anything have you heard anything no we don't know a whole lot other than what they've told us now obviously with regards to punting try Mack I mean Jeremy croshaw's back that's big for Florida in senior year he's a 2024 preseason all SEC team guy trace Mack is back he's in L Gros award semifinalist last year remember guys so you feel good there you've got your Long Snapper back Rocco Underwood is back um but return game is something they wanted to to upgrade and you know you bring in Shamir DK who did a lot of that at Wisconsin so he's here in fact he was a a 2022 all big 10 uh honorable mention guy and a lot of that was his his kick return and punt return so you got him back you got uh Trey Wilson has been mention back there you have a couple of freshman in in tank Hawkins who has unbelievable speed he was a 223 Florida indoor 60 meter champ you have Jaden ball who's got a lot of speed coming out of Georgia uh Montell Johnson's been mentioned although he's not going to be doing that I don't think he should be doing that at all but but those are the guys that have been mentioned in the return game all right can you give us a little Scout report what do you think we keep hearing how good Miami is going to be you know I got to see it to believe it but they've got players there's no doubt about that give us a little rundown what do you expect from Miami in all faces yeah look look Miami has been picked by Phil steel the pick six previews and other Publications to win the ACC so this is a good team they they really knocked it out of the park in the in the U transfer Port they brought in of course cam W the quarterback from Washington State you bring in Damen Martinez a big 5116 foot 230 235 pound back from Oregon State you uh and look cam Ward's already been he was preseason First Team all ACC player you bring in Zack Carpenter at center from Indiana who did a good job in the Big 10 they were looking for some help at guards so they have a guard that they're missing but they returned three starting offensive linemen including um Francis maloa who was second Team all e guy and then defensively you brought in a ton of guys CJ Clark out of NC State Simeon bar out of Michigan State both on the d d tackle position the DNS they had of course had Ruben Bane who was phenomenal last year for Miami First Team all ACC guy and then you bring in Elijah Alon out of Marshall Tyler Baron out of Tennessee and in the secondary they lost everybody just about Daryl Porter's back Daryl Porter Jr but at deari Brown play played a little for for him in the secondary last year a little here and there but they bring in M Powell from Washington a guy that can play corner and safety he's probably going to line up at corner opposite Porter and then they bring in Isaiah Taylor from Arizona to play safety with Jadon Harris so again a lot of transfer portal guys at Miami and I think that means Florida has to start fast guys and make some things happen get that crowd noise behind them and kind of help help grah merch and this team get some things going because and do it George thecajun plays 2:30 I'll be watching the Florida Gaters Miami and at night the Alabama Crimson Tide I'll be watching Bama play and Auburn I will definitely keep an eye on Auburn Tigers alurn Mark talk to me play it out what's got to go down for Florida Gators get a big win how's this game have to be played out yeah a lot of keys guys a lot of keys in this one in my opinion and and because both programs are are so dysfunctional you know coming into this game I mean you got two coaches as you said you know both these guys are really on the hot seat and Billy nap 11 and 14 at Florida the thing for Billy naer though he's played 12 top 25 teams Mario cristall is only 12 and 13 he's only played six so both these coaches really have a lot of ground to make up and I think that's where it starts you know both have made major changes Billy nather he he's essentially told us to band us back together he got Ron Roberts back Ron Roberts and Austin Armstrong worked together for Billy for a year at uh at Louisiana of course Armstrong went and did some other things as well and and Roberts did uh but but he but he worked for napy for two years as the DC at Louisiana I think for Florida fast start that has to happen look when you have that many guys from the portal as Miami is that that are probably going to be starting uh you really need to to make some things happen and go fast I think I would love to see Florida offensively take some shots in the end zone you know to kind of loosen up Miami and test that secondary again you get a lot of new faces back there although the defensive front for Miami is very very talented I think the fans are going to be huge in it I think offensive line PL I for fans out there watch the right side of the Florida offensive line you know Damen George has not played Right Guard he was right tackle and then next to him you got Brandon khaw Dixon who's playing his first game for Florida right tackle so keep an eye on the right side of the line blocking by The Backs is going to be enormous in this game because we don't know if Montreal Johnson is going to be able to go or not so beyond him you have Tryon web who has some experience and and does a pretty good job in in blocking but you lost Trevor etn so now you've got two young guys who haven't experienced you know a game so yeah I think that that's going to be big for Florida I also think this guys I we've heard so much from Tyler miles a strength and conditioning coach and all the players from Napier himself about how good it's been in terms of the strength and conditioning program getting more than two dozen guys faster than they were stronger than they were they're they're setting personal records left and right over the summer so we need to see that on translate on the field that speed quickness and strength I mean it's got it you know they Florida needs to look a little bit more like Georgia and Alabama this year than they have in the past so I think those are big tackling we know tackling was a problem in scrimmage one Napier said they got it cleaned up in practice and at scrimmage too he was pleased with the tackling um you got to get more press coverage and mix it up a little bit in the secondary last year we saw far too many too many DBS back off and they were dinking and dunking Florida and of course if tackling is a problem as it was last year well guess what the opponent just had a first down so you got to do that you got to contain a a dual threat quarterback a true true dual threat quarterback in cam Ward and then Florida's got to finish guys this is this has been the focus of Florida all year since the end of the game end of the season last year napers told us finish has been the buzzword because Florida's lost 61 possession games under Billy Napier and then maybe a seventh if you look at the Kentucky game in 22 where they were competitive until the fourth quarter and then Kentucky scored two touchdowns or a touchdown in a field goal and kind of put it out of one possession but Florida's got to finish and that's one thing that they have not done under turnover is going to be critical I I want to get your opinion on a couple other things we've uh what did you think FSU Georgia Tech were you surprised uh what's your take on that you know I wasn't shocked because as I told you guys last week Georgia Tech is an improved football team they really are I think I think uh they've done a really nice job over there um you know with with what Brent Key's done I I thought bringing in Buster fauler as offensive coordinator was going to be very interesting a guy who spent some time at quality control at Georgia of course he was Yos with your old team at at Southern Miss and you know I think he did a really nice job in in showing that look we're not the old triple option offense we you know we are uh we are multiple and they showed that last year you know they were third I think the third best offense in the ACCC and then he proved again this year look we got a lot of pieces back and we're doing the same thing and then I I thought that Taylor santui uh the DC at um Georgia Tech did a nice job keeping keeping things uh tight for Florida State and really getting after that offensive line I I think I was that that was the part that surprised me coach was that uh the Georgia Tech defense with all the struggles they had last year were able to do the things they were able to do get pressure on the quarterback and and keeping things uh tight for the FSU offense yeah offensive line defensive line FSU and quarterback play three big concerns all right I want to get your picks on these Clemson versus Georgia Georgia's 13 Half Point favorite 11 o' ABC who you like in this game I like Georgia in that one do they cover the 13 and a half I don't know if they cover the 13 and a half but uh but because Clemson I by everything we're hearing Clemson is uh has improved but but I think they win the game all right number seven Nutter Dame at number 20 Texas A&M 630 ESPN minus 3 A&M who you like in this game well you know good thing Texas A&M's at home in that one you know but a new staff and and everything going on I think that's going to be a that to me that's a coin toss on that one all right you know I would I would leave toward Notre Dame but being at Texas A&M I might go with the agies in a close one another big game this weekend 11:00 on Fox watch out number eight Penn State eight and a half Point favorite at West Virginia who do you like in this one oh that's a tough one too and I don't know a whole lot about those guys other than they're both supposed to be pretty good so um I don't know at West Virginia I I don't know I don't know give me Penn State okay then we already talked about Florida LSU Sunday night 4 and a half Point favor 6:30 ABC Central Time versus number 23 USC who you like in that one I'm goingon to go LSU in that one I think LSU's going to be pretty good I don't know that I'm as high on them as some people are but because I I think they some of their best players are young guys really young guys so I need to see how they play but I'm going to go with LSU all right BC at FSU Monday night 6:30 ESPN 17-point favorite FSU I got FSU win winning but I don't have them covering who do you like in this one yeah I don't think they cover either I I everything I've heard Boston College is an improved football team I'm not going to say to the level of Georgia Tech but they're improved and but FSU if you're not mad if you're not focused after that performance um you know where you're a double digit favorite uh there's something wrong give F isue marked it over under on uh Florida Miami what was it Brian 54 53 and a half 53 and half do they cover I mean you think it's over under Miami Florida wow that's and biggest points yeah that's pretty tight um I'll I'll go over on that uh I got to see the Florida defense do something yeah I got to
