good Wednesday morning everyone I'm meteorologist Justin horn with a look at your very hot forecast today is going to be the hottest day of the year we feel pretty certain about that with temperatures likely up around 106 maybe even 107 in spots here around San Antonio excessive heat warnings are in effect for a large portion of the area and that's going to go through this evening uh here's look at those high temperatures 106 in town 105 Gonzalez 110 in cariso Springs 11 in Del Rio not only that you have humidity so this is how it will feel we think here around San Antonio heat indes will be anywhere from 108 to 111 but that feels like number for several hours this afternoon so be very very careful out there uh here is a bit of good news we think is uh that Peak heating occurs late in the day we could see some isolated storms pop up couple of things about these storms though there'll be few and far between they'll be shortlived and they probably won't produce a lot of rain they could produce some Gusty winds though and some lightning so this this is something we'll keep an eye on I'd say between roughly 4: and 8:00 p.m. is when we could see some of this activity pop up before it dies down a little bit later this evening 103 tomorrow still a 20% chance of rain same situation during the afternoon but notice temperatures are starting to come down 100 Friday 98 Saturday 98 Sunday and then we could be talking mid90s next week with an area of low pressure moving in and some small rain chances
