so I noticed actually in that Times article that came out last week about the 115 charges case potentially being moved forward that it said that a verdict on the AP case was maybe duing the next fortnite if man were to win that what would the likely protest be with regards to the Premier League in terms of the vote and would the clubs have to take a vote on it uh no so look first of all it was a slightly odd um description of the time scales it seems unlikely that it would have leaked that a decision was coming out at a certain time I think what's most likely happened is when the original hearing was timetabled uh somebody has had a view that the likely time scale could be you know up to three months maybe maybe two months I think I think probably uh he he felt that the Judgment would probably come out let's say in in a couple of months from the judgment which would make it next week probably um it won't come out on the bank holiday uh so you know could be midweek if it was next week but I think it's a guess so that's the first thing in terms of the timing look if it happens it's very hard to know how it will pan out uh that the if um if city was successful you would think and if they were wholly successful You' think the first thing would be that the premier league rules would have to be amended immediately such that those sections were deleted pending the replacement of them uh by the Premier League at their next meeting and uh so we don't know whether we'll even get details of what the Judgment might might be um the way the rules are framed are that there would be no public um uh release of the decision itself so we may only know uh on the basis of either leaks uh or on the basis of the rules changing um but really the way that it will work in terms of the Premier League voting would probably only be if city was successful in some way at which point th those rules around Associated party transactions would need to go back to the Premier League clubs for redrafting uh in light of the decision that was made so depending on what the decision says and depending on the uh limits that it endorses of the Premier League's rights around Associated party transactions then it would probably be a case of back to the drawing board and um and then they would try and you know come up with something that did work and that was lawful um but uh you know unfortunately it's a lot of speculation because we have very little information other than that very uh very early article the the only article that we've really had about it in the times then the athletic reported that both parties premier league and Man City intend to appeal the a verdict is that actually possible at all yeah so that article was in article about 115 and it had a passing comment that uh they might try and appeal the arbitration but um the Prem rules uh only allow a challenge of an arbitration decision of this sort in extremely limited grounds and um that that that would essentially be uh one of quite um uh sort of bad faith or something really quite seriously wrong with the process itself so extremely unlikely that uh they would be able to challenge the Premier League would be able to challenge any decision or or city would be able to challenge any decision on that basis and interestingly the arbitration rules are very clear that what you can't do is challenge uh the decision based on how the arbitration panel has applied the law which is the usual way in which people would challenge arbitration up to a higher court so I think it's very unlikely that there'll be an appeal on um on the arbitration uh from either party I think it is a uh I think it's one one go only on that one uh and in any event I mean I think uh clearly if we are going into a three-month period where the parties are going to be focused on 115 um it doesn't sound likely to me that there would be uh any appetite for an appeal uh anytime soon so uh I think it's unlikely I think I think I think the arbitration will be a final decision on this point I se there's been lots of debate this week around the cast situation and what happened with that was there no evidence strictly against Man City and in that case well so look in simple terms the cast decision uh did refer uh to the phrase no evidence in relation to most of the main allegations 12 or 13 times so uh that's not a word that's not a phrase that's used lightly in somebody producing a decision so you should expect that uh regardless of the fact that um it wasn't a un decision on all aspects you should take that as an indication that there was uh they were some way short of establishing their case UEFA uh at Cass um and the the indications of no evidence uh within the decision are meaningful that said they're meaningful really only in the context of the case that was run at Cass clearly if we have a much broader case as as we would expect in the Premier League case with many thousands of documents and many weeks of cross-examination of witnesses um then there's limited um uh comfort that City will get purely from the basis of the cast judgment on those points um the cast judgment I would say is more uh useful to understand the case that was presented against City and to share uh the uh very strong uh witness um unequivocal witness um evidence given by cities Witnesses uh and just to show the difficulty in proving out any claim of this nature and also the seriousness of it so um I think sort of people s slightly uh naive in both regards in respect of uh the C situation one it casses and the panel that was was put in place at Cass it was a high quality panel and did do um a thorough job in terms of uh looking at the case and I think the idea that they were either in some way corrupt or uh wholly incompetent uh or didn't try which is another thing that we've heard UEFA didn't try these sorts of lines are just nonsense um of course UEFA tried very hard to win its case um and ultimately failed to do so despite thinking it would and um so you just have to take the cast uh situation as uh cast judgment as just another um bit of information that allows you to understand the the core allegations rather than something that definitively will go one way or the other in terms of the final case so it will give um City some comfort that a high quality panel viewed it as they wanted them to view it uh but as I say there'll be many many thousands more documents in the Premier League hearing and and therefore you know we will just have to see and it will take as I've said before it will take some time if it really is a 10 or 12we trial it will take some time for us to see the decision and it will be you know the cast decision was 993 pages long we can expect the Premier League decision to be many hundreds of pages long and to have very detailed analysis of the allegations uh of the evidence that it heard and of its conclusions and we will see and you know it's certainly not going to be uh analyzed in advance without seeing any of the documents uh over social media so we just have to wait and see and we spoke previous ly about man City's potential difficulties in trying to sell Joel Canelo this summer there's been reports that Saudi club Al Hill Al have reportedly agreed a deal for him that' be a big relief to get him off the books yeah I mean it it would be a uh an absolute Master stroke from um City's um player sales team uh because you're talking about a player who's probably uh got a 10 million pound a year minimum contract I think he's still got three or four years left on that contract he's uh out of the manages uh uh plans completely so you know when when you've got a player like that you you you're really talking about a liability not an asset because you've got to pay them come what may and you don't want to use them and they're are very limited uh clubs now that uh canalo uh could go to really he's he's already played for a number of the biggest clubs in Europe and there's been very little interest across Europe so Saudi was always looking like uh it was City's biggest hope um and if that deal does transpire then then they will be delighted about that because it will save them huge amount of money so not just the fee the fee sounds like it would be around or in excess of his Netbook value that remains on the balance sheet creating at least a neutral position from a trading perspective but as I say on top of that you're saving in excess of 10 million p a year on wages
