take us to the pick six yeah I mean it was obviously super exciting uh you know we had a great call from the box upstairs and you know I was just able to read my keys and you know the ball just came to me and was able to go take it back to the house obviously really really exciting play any nerves looking at the video board like what was coming through your mind yeah I was just making sure I didn't get caught from behind honestly just wanted to finish that play off and score what was your assignment on it kind what did you see uh I just felt they kind of ran a play with two guys going to the flat I felt the first guy go and then I just saw the quarterback's eyes and he kind of overthrew the ball a tiny bit and was just able to capitalize on that yeah obviously uh our D Line's amazing they you know they get after the quarterback a lot so I'm thankful they were making him feel pressure all night and forc a little bit of overthrow so shout out Josh on that one how much ju the did the pick six give the whole team it's only 10 to three at that point from that point on the second half you guys pick off yeah I think uh you know it was a good momentum play obviously whenever the defense so it just it was really exciting to do that much is this a team win I mean you guys contributed pretty much all phases yeah it was just it was incredible to see our whole team come together like that you know our whole defense as a unit it's played extremely well so it was really exciting will you've been here this whole time this defense I mean y'all have taken steps every year you I know it's still early but you sense that this could be a special year defensively uh yeah yeah I do um you know obviously we have things we can still work on things we can get better at so we'll watch the film and review that but uh this is a special group and I'm excited to play with these guys every single day what do you think yall do have done better so far that maybe you haven't done in previous Seasons yeah I'd say just being like a more cohesive unit and uh you know just being able to communicate everything across the board and everybody's on the same page everybody's flying around so it's just real exciting to play those guys a regular thing of you getting grief from the rest of your teammates sometimes I guess I don't know are you ready for the increased notor hiy now that you are had the pi six uh yeah I guess you know I just kind of take it a day at a time and see how it goes how just from your Vantage Point you've been here you asked about as his defense has grown a bit Bill what can you say about the way that you guys have added Talent better at yeah I mean we've uh obviously we've added a bunch of good guys you know whether that's from the portal or high school and you know they've they've come in and they've mesed really well with our team so it's it's awesome just to have them here and be able to play beside them every day what about the defensive L I know you're in the back end but contr to play on the back it's uh it definitely makes my life little bit easier when quarterbacks don't have that much time to throw and they're feeling the pressure all night so it's it's great to be able to play behind them do you hear from folks around Knoxville around the state kind of being an Underdog Story you didn't come here with four or five stars you have people all over you know that kind of let you know that they're rooting for you and that you're an inspiration kind of uh yeah honestly like I haven't heard exactly anything yet I try not to pay attention to all the outside noise and just kind of lock in where my two feet are at so uh that's just kind of how I try to take it one two more can you guys be better defensively what what can you approve yeah I mean we'll we'll watch the tape and you know see what we did wrong see where we had any miscommunications or Misfits or you know just anything like that so we'll just keep uh tune in to finder details yeah what about those linebackers PE Carter I mean those guys really played well for you yeah they did uh they got after the running backs you know forced a lot of tfl so it's it's great playing with them and you know being on the same page with them thank you
