Western Carolina comes to Carter Finley Stadium on a Thursday night ACC Network season kickoff game so expecting a rockus crowd for an FCS game at Carter Finley uh despite the opponent but let's just go around and and keep going in our order here and and talk about our picks Assad uh this one should be relatively easy but but where do you where do you stand on this one yeah it's a loss right off the bat no uh that would be hilarious if I pick them there uh no I we're gonna have more to talk about with the games coming out they're gon to uh I think easily handle Western Carolina it's not going to be much of a matchup and I think it's G to be high scoring while also not showing their cards too much uh for revealing before both the Tennessee and and Clemson games so I I have a 41-9 win Alec got 52 to 14 I think that you're going to see St come out and just basically run four plays repeatedly uh they're going to run the ball a lot in this game I think you're going to get a lot of backs involved which may not be the case down the line but will certainly be in this game there's no reason to put a ton of work on Jordan wat's body uh in this game probably so I think you're going to see a large distribution of carries you're going to see a lot of scoring they're going to put up a ton of rushing yards and I think the defense will slip up a couple explosive plays along the way and and you know they'll give up a few points and you'll see a few a few cracks as they kind of adjust to uh you know some new Personnel so yeah I have to you to 14 chel I've got 54 to 17 I think it's going to be fairly easy we're going to have a lot of people involved in the offense a lot of rushing yards I will say Western Carolina did score 77 points against someone last year and they have a pretty good quarterback so uh they do have a potential to working points but uh I think we'll hold them to about 17 and I think we'll score pretty much when we want to so that's that's what I've got for the Western K game I'm I'm the pessimist of the group when it comes to blowing them out I think we're gonna win but I have 3824 and the reason why I have 38-2 24 is because I think it's going to be a uncomfortable first half and then we kind of pull away in the second half just because it's a lot of new guys first time on the field first game Jitters maybe thinking about Tennessee a little bit and then also this is a Western Carolina team Joel mentioned it they went seven and four last year they had two wins over top 20 FCS opponents and almost had a third they lost to Ferman by 12 so it's not a bad FCS program by any stretch of the imagination I don't think we lose but I think it's going to be a little bit more uncomfortable of a first half than we'd like and the second half we take care of business
