you mentioned about Eddie how being let go but he's not not that it's any fault really of anybody but he's not really been backed either because they've not had the luxury to go out and spend and if you're if you're ready how the product at the start has been right come in these players are going to come in you're owned by the wealthiest owners in in the group The Challenge is for you to go on is a chieve Champions League football to go again surely you've got to spend money again yeah and I know it's it's quite harsh on him to not have the be able to spend the unlimited money that they have but I even I wouldn't personally trust him with that money myself to be honest with you do you know what I mean when you start that make that step up to the top four or the big six as they like to call it now um you need that manager with that experience so I wouldn't trust him with all that money anyway so yeah okay it's not it's not fair he hasn't been able to spend it but I still believe they need someone with a bit more European experience in Eddie how to take them to that next level when they can spend the money Tom they've signed will aoula from Sheffield United for around 15 million quid John Ry was on a free as a as a Backup backup goalkeeper because they've got ODS as Flack oimos as well who's going to be a backup to Nick Pope Lloyd Kelly on a fre Lewis hes really the only big expenditure who was already done last summer from Chelsea a loan with an obligation to buy yeah like like Quake is saying that that seems to be the problem that's the problem for every Club going forward and you have to cut your cloth accordingly you can't just have teams that go and spend because the the opposite side of it is we see clubs go to the wall all the time and you've got owners that throw 300 million quid in and next year they go actually I'm board with this project now I want all that money back or it doesn't happen you look at horrible scenes at reading where they've got a football club that's so close to going broke you've got football clubs in the past Berry that have done it have gone to the wall I know we're talking about Newcastle which is not only a massive football club it's an institution anybody that's been to a game up at Newcastle will tell you that the whole city stops on 3:00 on a Saturday it's it's phenomenal it's such a noise and one of the most passionate probably underappreciated fan bases in in the country but that is the surely there's got to be a middle ground because it doesn't feel like PSR is working for anybody at the moment I I think there is an argument that PSR you know is actually a is obviously a good thing in some senses because it does restrict the spending of Clubs in some way so you stop these massive uh people coming in and spending so much but I think there's an argument that Newcastle should have been better at their spending actually is that they're aware of what the restrictions are they're aware of what's in place and they've gone out and spent money on XYZ players but maybe they should have split or spread that investment across multiple players so that either or save money back for future Windows because they know if they're they're going to get the money coming in from future sales or future loan fees Etc and whatever I think that it's important that if you know that these exist that you don't go and spend anyway and then start moaning about the restrictions that you you in place a strategic strategy in order to spend according to those restrictions I I understand that and I think the biggest thing that's happened in Newcastle is actually up in the boardroom where they've lost an Ashworth he's gone to Manchester United they've brought in Paul Mitchell and it's been a very different transfer window Ashworth of the architect who brought in the likes of EAC and and Bruno gares and he's not there anymore and Amanda stav who was a big Eddie how backers is not there anymore and you hear in Eddie how in press conferences there's some discontent there he's not happy he was piling over Elliott Anderson in terms of in terms of wondering why they let him go and so I think there's issues there and I would not be surprised in terms what you said slim I wouldn't be surprised that if he's not there by the end of the season because there's something not right at Newcastle there's supposed to be a club on that trajectory in terms of going upwards and I can't see it obviously players are coming back fit they missed Nick poke for large parts of the last season tanali is going to feel like a new signing for them this year they managed to keep hold of Gordon who was linked with Liverpool and Al Alexander isack who in my opinion is the second best striker in this league so they've got some quality there but it seems like things aren't right and people aren't too happy and where there's been changes in the boardroom I think that could affect the changes down at the touch line and I don't think Eddie how will be there by the end of the season is there not a perfect storm that says that Eddie how does say thank you very much this isn't working and all of a sudden the England job is is is there for him is is is that is that not sort of the perfect scenario for everybody right is is that the uncomfortable conversation that no one's going to have but it is their s yeah I think he I think he work well in the England setup I I thought you didn't care about England I said Club over country but yeah no I think as managers go I think Eddie how would be the perfect fit for that English managers anyway there's not there's not many great English managers in my opinion to take that job and do a good job there so yeah I think it'd be perfect for him but yeah maybe you never know man there might be something in that you never know you never know one one of the other players that did go out a Newcastle in the summer and to be to be absolutely honest with you I'm I'm not sure how much football Le have played it Newcastle didn't see a huge amount about him but Mina that's now at Brighton H albian he looks unbelievable where wherever he's been in terms of newcastle's frustration now Elliot Anderson might have been at top of the pile he can't be far off Tom because you you saw Brighton up close yesterday the fluidity in which Brighton play and if you are a club like Newcastle and you see Brighton that have had a big window 140 150 million quid I think nearly going to 200 million with all the add-ons and things like that they've had an excellent window that's probably an additional frustration if you're a Newcastle fan going well if Brighton can do it why can't we what's that about well I think when you look at actually what Brighton have done recently and they start to spend the money that they finally been selling so many players you're thinking when are they going to pull the court when are they going to go that next Mile and try and take on the league and the say that Newcastle have you know spent recently to try and get and accomplish a Champions League qualification Brighton is starting to do that and then they're looking at taking a player from Newcastle a team of course that got to that Champions League qualification then they're using that as the Boost to take them to the well we could see as close to the top four as possible I think they'll go very close I think going to look at a potential Aston Villa type situation with Brighton this season with how good they look with herzler being in some ways a bit of an unknown quantity as a manager as well and the other managers are going to maybe find it harder to to work out how to beat Bri and Arta you know dominated the game with Arsenal you know but they were a threat and they took advantage of the scenario that was presented to them in the second half I think with with Newcastle with m in particular that sale was made at a time where the pressure was was unsurmountable it was where it was towards the end of June July period where they had to get those sales in order according to those so I understand why they made that sale he had a very good season on loan I think it was was it fin he was on last season so you're looking at that and you're thinking that's been forced upon them um but he would have been no doubt you know an excellent option especially with now alaron potentially falling off somewhat on that bright side of thing um I have to again I apologize to Liverpool preseason I've got apologize hang on hang on hang on Qui let me mar these down that's two two in the first half hour carry on I didn't think that they would be able to sustain losing their best players year on year on year and we saw happened Southampton maybe five six or seven years ago where they kept on losing their best players and eventually that's saw them relegated and if you look over the last four or five or two or three seasons Pascal gr left this summer mallister left last year kaiso Trad karella these are players who playing for Ben White playing for the top top clubs in this country but Brighton has just found a way to go again and again and again and the model needs to be studed because they sell these players for such high prices and bringing Replacements who are even better than those players and scouting is unbelievable Inc is bringing a manager who is younger than me and I thought there's not a chance to succeeds and this year or this season they're still unbeaten in the league got a great win against against Manchester United got a great draw at the Emirates and herz's very impressive he spoke after the game at the Emer and was disappointed they didn't get the win obviously a man Advantage for the majority of the second half but he expected them to go there and get the win which tells you their mindset and their mentality and I think they're going to be very very hard to stop the season well especially because at some point Chelsea will come calling cuz I think they get the seventh player free don't you you buy Six you get the seven free but in all seriousness liim is that not the issue as well because Brighton don't want to become that club that all of a sudden are like a stepping stone for teams Matt O'Reilly's a massive loss by the way a player he only got nine minutes I think in his debut against Crawley in midweek and he's now out for for a long term but when they're they're spending a lot of money on players Jal Pedro looks he looks mint doesn't he ready for the next step Billy Gilmore's gone to to Napoli now says that that that weer in the middle of the Midfield he looks very good as well they they've got a number of players that look very good but it's almost come a little bit of a like a Feeding Frenzy teams are going just watch bright for 6 months see who they pay 20 million quid for we'll pay 80 for next summer yeah people a good idea Liverpool are you listening no J no there like you said there has to be a point where they say all right let's sustain our position in league and try and go up the league rather than just like you said be a stepping stone and I think the time is now with the manager they brought in a young manager who you could see he can be there for a very long time he could be the next Alex Ferguson if he wanted to be so yeah if they back him now and they pulled the and they sto selling their best players they play an attractive brand of football I mean so yeah I see big things for Brighton if they the added issue Tom is the fact that now everybody one knows they have money and and two know that their talent ID is so good that somebody's going to be knocking on the door for1 million pound next summer so they're going well if you value him at10 million pound I don't agree with that anymore like he's now 20 he's now 25 I mean that's obviously U meet the release Clause of georgino routa from from Leeds 40 million quid but already you know a player like that that has had Premier League experience it's only going to be a matter of time if he plays even 70 80% there'll be bigger teams that are knocking on the door straight away but it's got to the point now where it doesn't actually matter for Brighton because they have done so well in regards to the financial restrictions that exist with selling so well over such a long period of time you know half a decade for instance you know the I actually think I actually think Brighton are the luckiest Club in the Premier League purely because of timing because of the timing at which they've decided to go through this different strategic um move for both ins and outs and there are a period in the Premier League where the top top teams I don't think have ever been further away from the bottom teams in the Premier League and Brighton are in this middle ground in the Premier League now where they can lose some of their best players but they're still good enough that they're never going to fall into that trap of relegation so they can sign some of the best talent across Europe or across the world Implement integrate it into their team give them the minutes that they need to develop and grow and either stay as we've seen with matoma for instance or move on like the list we've we've obviously put out there ourselves on am on da via the talk sport app and on your smart
