Hello, Miriam at the
Bureau with your National Weather Forecast for tomorrow, Friday the 30th of August. We have a couple more cold fronts
moving across south-eastern Australia. One late tonight, going into the early part
of Friday morning with a second approaching late tomorrow. Now, these two fronts will maintain
very windy weather across the south-east over the next few days and some of that showery weather
that we've been seeing too. We do have Severe Weather Warnings current
for much of south-eastern Australia and you can find the detailed information
about that situation in our Severe Weather Video. Looking at the rest of the continent for
our Friday, though, we've got broadly dry and sunny weather, with heat
being the main weather story. Particularly through southern parts of the Northern Territory
and southern Queensland, those temperatures
may push up to 15 degrees above average. So, taking a look around the country
now, starting with Queensland. After a bit of a foggy start along the east coast, we've got dry and mostly
sunny conditions across the state. Fire dangers picking up across that southern inland
as some gusty winds start to develop. We've got temperatures really increasing as well,
up to the high 30s across the west. Brisbane heading for a top of 32 degrees,
which is almost 10 degrees above average. Down to New South Wales now, a windy start through the south-east, particularly
about the central and south-east Ranges. The Illawarra, parts of the south Coast
too, looking at a very blustery morning. A few showers as well, associated
with that cold front, but both the showers and the winds should start to ease back
later in the day. Fairly warm through the north and east,
Sydney heading for a top of 29 degrees, although, with those stronger winds,
it may feel slightly milder. Down in Canberra,
20 degrees and partly cloudy. For Victoria now,
wet and windy start to the day as that first front moves through, with showers
tending patchier during the afternoon. We will see winds and rainfall
increasing again later in the day, as that second front approaches. Melbourne is heading for a top of 19 degrees, with a shower or two moving through. For Tasmania, a wet and windy start down there
as well, as that first front moves through with showers remaining persistent
throughout the day in the west, triggering some flooding concerns across
catchments of Tasmania. Hobart is looking at a 14 degree day
with showers through much of the period, and we're going to see winds
persistently strong with the first front in the morning
and the second front later in the day. For South Australia now, a few showers
across the southern agricultural area early in the morning, with some stronger winds
about the lower south-east coast as well, but they'll ease back later in the morning,
before this second front increases both winds and rain again about the
south-east coast later in afternoon and evening. Much more settled and warm across central
and northern parts of the state, but Adelaide itself remaining fairly mild
with a top of 18 degrees. For Western Australia,
we're going to see a much more settled day for our Friday
compared to some of that windy weather we've had earlier in the week. Just a few showers about the south-west
coast, which may impact Perth at times. We're
heading for a top of 19 degrees there tomorrow, with warmer weather further
north. Finally, for the Northern Territory,
it will be a story of a hot day once again through central and southern parts
of the Northern Territory in particular. But it will be a little bit milder
across the Top End. Hopefully we'll catch some of those
sea breezes later in the day. Darwin is heading
for a top of just 33 degrees. You can find the detailed forecast for your area via the Bureau's website
and the BOM social media. We'll see you tomorrow. Have a good night.
