Toby kith Koval was born on July 8th 1961 in Clinton Oklahoma United States he was born to Hubert kith Koval and Carolyn Joan koville he has a big brother named Tony Koval he also has a younger singer named Tracy Koval the family lived in Fort Smith Arkansas for a few years when kith was in grade school but moved to Moore Oklahoma a suburb of Oklahoma City when he was still young before the family moved to Moore he visited his grandmother in Fort Smith during the Summers his grandmother owned Billy Garner's Supper Club in Fort Smith where kith became interested in the musicians who came there to play he did odd jobs around the supper club and started getting up on the band stand to play with the band he got his first guitar at the age of eight kith attended Moore High School where he played on the football team and performed in the school band after the family moved to Moore Ki attended Highland West Junior High kith graduated from Moore High School and in 1979 went to work as a Derek Hand in the booming oil fields of Oklahoma he worked his way up to become an operation manager at the age of 20 he formed the Easy Money band and they played local bars as he continued to work in the oil industry at times he would have to leave in the middle of a gig if he was paged to work in the oil field in 1982 the oil industry in Oklahoma began a rapid Decline and kith soon found himself unemployed he fell back on his football training and played defensive end with the semi-pro Oklahoma City Drillers while continuing to perform with his band after two years with the Drillers kith decided to try music fulltime he formed a band called Easy Money band they played in local bars and got popular his family and friends were doubtful he would succeed but in 1984 Easy Money began playing The Honky Tonk circuit in Oklahoma and Texas the band cut a single titled Blue Moon and the song received some airplay on local radio stations in Oklahoma he started singing his heart out in the early 90s Kate's breakthrough hit should have been a cowboy reached number one in 1993 and became the most played country song of the decade with over 3 million radio performances in 1999 how do you like me now crossed over to the pop Top 40 chart in 2001 he was named male vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music which also pronounced how Do You Like Me Now album of the year later that year his follow-up album pull my chain became his first number one country album and first top 10 pop album a flight attendant and fan of Toby gave a copy of his demo tape to Harold shed a Mercury records executive during a flight shed then went to see kith perform live and then signed him to a recording contract with mer Mercury Toby first laid eyes on his future wife Trisha Lucas at an Oklahoma nightclub in 1981 when he was just 20 years old and she was 19 after 3 years of dating the pair got hitched on March 24th 1984 after marrying Trisha he adopted her daughter Shelley and the couple went on to welcome daughter Crystal born in 1985 and Son Stellan born in 1997 into the family he is also a grandfather to three granddaughters and one grandson the star has appeared in total non-stop Action Wrestling segments and also participated in the Comedy Central roast of Larry the Cable Guy kith acted in the 2005 film Broken Bridges and starred in the 2008 movie Beer for My Horses he also appeared several times on comedy Central's The Colbert Report his Toby kith Foundation which provides Aid to Children battling cancer and their families in Oklahoma throughout his career Toby kith has achieved numerous Milestones including multiple Billboard Music Awards Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Association awards he has also been inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame Toby Kate's net worth is estimated to be around $400 million making him one of the wealthiest musicians in the world in June 2022 kith announced that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer at the end of 2021 having having undergone chemotherapy radiation and surgery for the past 6 months kith died in his sleep in Oklahoma on February 5th 20124 at the age of 62
