Intro we are back at sack State you're taking a look at sack State cheer now they are gearing up to head to Daytona to compete at Nationals Can You Feel the anticipation building this is what it's going to be like when they're performing in Daytona now they're giving us a sneak peek at their performance but I just have to give a disclaimer right we don't want their competition to see all this moves no no no we have to have the element of surprise here they're going to Mark a few things but we're going to get a sneak preview of that performance take a Sneak Peak [Music] look so right now what you're watching is the traditional team so they're competing in two different categories and I'm here with Coach Deja tell us a little bit about what this routine is yeah so this routine is 2 minutes and 15 seconds jam-packed of all their energy their skills dance everything that they've learned all season long so it is nonstop that is the best part and right now they're marking some of the stunts that they have but they are throwing girls left and right doing death defying stunts tell us about how much prep work they have to do in order to master those pyramids in these things yeah so during football season we actually start this routine in about November with choreography uh Julian does our chore ography and he's super awesome so we love him and um they just go nonstop just through everything that they do and I'm watching them getting distracted cuz I love them no I saw that toe touch and I thought oh my goodness so when it comes to this routine it takes a lot of stamina to get through a routine with this many elements tell us about the two a dayss the three a day practices leading up today Tona yes so we have had everyday practice this week uh 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. or until I tell them that they can leave so Monday through Friday it's also their spring break so they get to spend their time with me I love it that's they're so dedicated oh my God and you know something that is really important when it comes to cheer is being able to make Matt it's a really competitive process explain to us what making Matt is and how these girls get selected yeah so we have 38 total athletes on our team and only 20 can make our traditional mat however throughout the season I tell them that every day is a tryy out and when I get ready to pick the 20 it's the 20 that I know are dedicated committed and that at any point they're ready to perform and put on a show and so I feel like everyone is but it takes you know a little bit more when it comes to traditional oh man it's competitive look at the energy I'm going to give them their moment oh my goodness it makes you want to get up and dance it makes you Spirit want to get up in spirit okay ladies finally how are we feeling head an into to Daytona do we feel ready are we going to represent saak state are we going to come home after running okay so if you win Daytona you like run into the water right they're going to run into the water right all right we cannot wait to cheer these ladies and gentlemen on they have two categories they're competing in so make sure hopefully you can tune in and we can't wait till you guys get back and we can celebrate some great news right all right let's go green I'm spirting to end this off woohoo Stiers up right she's right home thank you sakur
