video your phone is going to go off as it does post a video so thank you everybody in the sound system culture very much today's video we're going to talk about one of the most hated loved by some people hated by some people and the name of it is erector scale for me that's how that's how I say it erector scale or erector scale that's the word so anyway we remove ourself in the music culture now to a whole lot of fangles they work we remove the music we used to play vinyl from Vinyl to the techniques 1200 from the techniques 1200 we move ourself to now we have laptops and controllers but this piece of equipment that I'm talking about is a vintage I remember when I have to work two job to buy this equipment I was younger in the mood to work two jobs my first piece of equipment on my sound and I still own it today I'm going show it to you guys is a piece of erector scale there are many different ways how to use a erector scale and there's a lot of people that say oh I bought it and I have a problem I move the key I don't hear anything we're going to address that too okay so now we're going to show you the erector scale okay people so here we have it right here proper spelling right here is called RoR scale right okay that's the proper wording so this this piece right here I bought it from kenel 5 in Manhattan big up to Benson and the whole kenal 5 Team B is not there anymore but I bought this when I was going to school in the Bronx taking the train going down to man so this right here you will see some of these mostly talk about this piece of equipment you have um 2 4 DB you have some of these director scale when I call the director scale some of these are not printed on here and some of these erector scale are different in 24 DB I think you have 18 DB you know anybody know do the homework and let me know anything I don't mention do the homework please so this is the Rector scale we used to use this in Jamaica still do for the Baseline of sound system some people like it some people hate it some people say you could put this frequency here in your drive rack and it sound the same no I'm here to tell you yes you can use this frequency in your drive rack but it does not sound the same reason being that the components and the parts that build this up for the engineers who design stuff know exactly I'm talking the truth it does you can put it in your drive rack but it's it's going to mimic it but it's not going to have that tone or that sound you understand so it's a whole dis discussion with this piece there's many different ways let me turn it on when you turn it on there's a v meter clock right here you give me a closeup I'm going turn this switch on and you're going to see it see the Vu meter goes back when it turn on and it come all the way back you understand so this I have this this older than my kids anyway the problem I found with the Rector scale I got many many friends who would say to me oh I'm moving the keys and I ain't getting no sound and it not nothing for me one of the problem is that when people used to buy these back in the days used to get the chip I'm going show you the chip some people switch the chip out in the erector scale so the chip might be lower lower frequency than what these Keys originally meant to be so I used to buy a lot of them because people would say I don't need it it's not doing anything for me it don't work but I realized that some people went into it and changed the chip that's why the keys are not on point with the frequency that you're moving here so I'm going to show you the reason for that I have the top off so here we go this is a fully fully serviced erector scale cuz they've been around for a long time and if your Rector scale does not have this chip right here it is not going to operate accordingly to the keys on the front of it your HS so the the chip need to be exactly this one it comes from the store like this and it come changeable you used to bought it and it come in a little sponge or thing that different chip you want to drop your HS in it you could take this out and change it let me say that for some of the people who watching the video or quick to talk listen before we talk so this is the problem that I find out about the reor scale I bought and sell a lot of these this this is a trade secret that I'm not supposed to tell anybody cuz not everybody's knowledgeable enough about this chip in it some people don't even know there's a chip in it some do so refurnish let's talk about this all of these caps are changed these are brand new caps after a while these caps are dried out anybody that fix electronic could come come know that I'm telling the truth these caps DED out after a while when these caps dry out the equipment does not sound the same after a while alongside the ol amplifier then we use the big caps so now this of the the correct the correct chip in it come from the factory come from the company like that so many different ways how to hook up this equipment I have some trade secret about to hook up this equipment that I'm not going to speak about cuz I promise people I won't say anything about it not until the other day I've learned a different style how to use the erector scale on my sound like I said it is preference you don't have to use it if you like the equipment and just want to keep the Vintage going you can put it on your sound you don't have to but for me in my culture let me say it in my culture we use the director scale you understand so we going to do a part two of a video on this erector scale showing you how to hook it up and what it really can do you understand some people say oh it's RCA dra I don't want that on my sound there are waste to get around that that would be in part two video so director scale legendary equipment you got people talk oh remember back in the days the Baseline them Wicked and rare let's not be Hypocrites they were using this back in the days but now we evolve to different things and different opinion but one thing that main consecutive about this piece of equipment it's legendary hate it like it it will get the job done if you know how to use it and apply it to your sound system and where you put it in the chain of your sound system that also does matter that will be a part two video on that so there you go the legendary often we we pronounce the words wrong but it's called re ter scale right okay so that's the word of it and this one if you're going to buy one make sure it say right here 24 DB preferably they say 24 DB on there make sure you can get that one so there you go theor scale next video we're going to show you the back of it and all the stuff that we can do with this piece of equipment the boss I look me funny so show the back of the equipment but AB certain things when we have set up around here on it so let's go back to that now B this is the back of the erector scale pronunciation right so this equipment also too most people use it on Baseline if you look here it tells you you could use it you got a crossover on this piece of equipment here back in the day they used to use it for your highs and your base you can use it and you can Loop things through here what you want you can Loop a equalizer through here if you want that's your preference or you can go right here and just use the EQ right here some people just use the EQ right here some people will Loop it with the EQ and the Wobble the famous wobble tone that we hear right here that you press the famous wobble tone you turn this and it Go and in tones and it's therefore also a reason the frequency or there for a reason but some people that went over their head oh not like it oh it ain't this it ain't that everybody went to digital but it's still got use on sound system today so I'm not here I'm not here to bash it I'm just let you know that there are things that we can use on our sound it's called preference if you like the Vintage you could go with the Vintage if you like digital you could go with digital equipment but for me I like the Vintage piece and the heritage of a Jamaican Baseline for me preference so until then here we go the legendary erector skill if you notice now back then they used to use this is very important tip too they used to use gold if you can look at the tip up here they used to use gold so the thing ground properly other than copper this is the best conductor and a piece of unit and here we used to have a microphone here that you put to your base box and you listen to the frequency of your base box and the the scale around there here so it's many different ways how this thing can be used it can be used as a tool for your sound or it can use as a baseline so it's come down to preference so there we go legendary erector scale and don't forget when you buy one make sure you got this chip in it unless you need a lower lower um frequency but this chip is the right chip in the director scale you understand so big up to everybody who watched the video compliment what do some people quick talk and quick we can't stop you from talk but bring knowledge to the culture that's what it's about so there would we say IID out
