[Music] my name is Rebecca morsy and I work for Fidelity Investments as a corporate action senior analyst Fidelity Investments is a global company with the headquarters in the US and my team is actually split between the US and Dublin um so when I come in first thing I kind of check my emails messages to see what's come in overnight and if there's anything I need to take action on that's com in from the US side um and then our daily tasks are signed out in the morning so my actual day today is Corporate actions processing for corporate actions events and all the events are insided out in the morning so I take a look at what I have kind of make my plan of action for the day and assess what needs to be prioritized what do I need more information on and what's kind of a quick hit and then if I'm in the office at that point I go for a coffee with one of the girls take a little break for the morning and then once I'm back it's straight into work and just tackling everything for the day we have two team meetings every day so the Dublin meet morning meeting will be in the morning and then once the US come in we'll have another one in the afternoon and that's just assessing assessing everyone's allocation making sure everyone's okay with their events for the day and if anyone needs support and just to discuss any issues or anything that came up the day before um you never really know what's going to come up throughout the day so we just kind of try to keep that open communication throughout the whole day the advice I would give is to be open-minded once you come in in your first role no matter where you end up there's so many teams there's so many business units with infidelity so no matter what your first role is you're going to learn so many skills you're going to take so many transferable skills throughout the rest of your career and it's just going to be a big learning opportunity I'd also say to ask a lot of questions it's so useful in understanding your role and the work you do do and why you do it and the impact it has on the overall company and just don't forget that you're coming in with a fresh perspective so that's also valuable to the company once when you question the way things are done you will learn why it's done that way or sometimes it can even lead to improvements and efficiencies and that it's also valuable to the [Music] company what I love most about my job is definitely the culture and like the sense of community I work with so many great people and it's just a positive environment to be in I think as an associate you feel that your your work is recognized you're valued and a really good work life balance is definitely available
