MORGAN CITY, LOUISIANA. I'M IVAN RODRIGUEZ. >> NOW 4WARN WEATHER WITH ASHLEE BARACY. >> AND SO, GIVEN THAT WE'RE IN A PRETTY CALM STRETCH, LET'S GO AHEAD AND START WITH WHAT'S HAPPENING DOWN SOUTH WITH FRANCINE. TORNADO WATCHES REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF ALABAMA ALONG THE GULF COAST, AND THAT WILL CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT 45 MINUTES OR SO. BUT NO ACTIVE TORNADO WARNINGS. BUT YOU DO TYPICALLY SEE SOME SPIN OFF TORNADOES FROM THESE HURRICANE SYSTEMS. NOW, RAINFALL TOTALS OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS UPWARD OF EIGHT INCHES ALONG THE GULF COAST, ESPECIALLY FROM NEW ORLEANS SOUTH TOWARDS THAT COASTAL REGION. NOW, AS WE TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE ON TAP OVER THE NEXT 48 HOURS, THIS TROPICAL SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO DUMP EVEN MORE RAIN TO PORTIONS OF THE GULF STATE STATES, AND THIS BECOMES A REMNANT LOW OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. BUT IT'S KIND OF JUST STAGNANT DOWN BY MISSISSIPPI. THE NORTHERN PART OF MISSISSIPPI, AT LEAST. AND THAT COULD BRING AN ADDITIONAL SIX PLUS INCHES OF RAIN. SO TRACKING THE TROPICS, THIS IS NOW TROPICAL STORM STATU AS YOU JUST HEARD, IT DID MAKE LANDFALL YESTERDAY EVENING AS A CAT TWO, BUT WINDS NOW DOWNGRADED TO 45MPH. GUSTS AROUND 60. AND IT'S MOVING NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 12MPH, PRIMARILY THROUGH MISSISSIPPI FOR TODAY. AS IT GETS NORTH OF JACKSON, IT SHOULD BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION BEFORE BECOMING THAT REMNANT LOW CLOSER TO MEMPHIS AND STALLING OUT BEFORE IT EVEN REACHES SAINT LOUIS. SO VISIBILITY CLOSER TO HOME. THAT'S THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH HERE, BECAUSE THAT TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL STEER CLEAR OF US. SO ZERO MILE VISIBILITY IN ANN ARBOR DOWN INTO ADRIAN AND THEN ONE MILE VISIBILITY IN MONROE. SAME IN PORT HURON. SO THE DENSE FOG VERY MUCH PATCHY THIS MORNING IN POCKETS COMPARED TO THE WIDESPREAD FOG THAT WE HAD EARLIER YESTERDAY MORNING. TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW IN THE 50S AND LOW 60S ACROSS THE BOARD. SO IT'S A PRETTY SEASONAL START TEMPERATURE WISE. AND WE WILL HAVE THAT SUN RISING AT 711. SUNSET AT 747. BUT PLAN FOR PLENTY OF SUNSHINE THAT WILL ALSO HELP WARM US UP TODAY. WARMEST DAY OF THE WEEK, IN FACT. SO LET'S LOOK AT THAT BUS STOP FORECAST A LITTLE FOGGY AND THEN SEASONABLY COOL THIS MORNING, BUT QUICKLY WARMING UP BY 10 A.M. WE'RE ALREADY IN THE 70S, SO I THINK THE KIDS COULD ALMOST GET BY WITHOUT THAT EXTRA LAYER THIS MORNING, BECAUSE WE WARM UP SO QUICKLY BY THE LUNCH HOUR. ANY LUNCH TIME RECESS PROBABLY AROUND 80 AFTER SCHOOL, 86 DEGREES FOR THE AFTERNOON HIGH. TONIGHT WE FALL TO 63. SO A LITTLE MILDER BECAUSE OF PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, BUT STILL THAT PATCHY FOG CHANCE LINGERS AND COULD CONTINUE TO LINGER OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF NIGHTS. WE LOOK AHEAD TO THE LOCAL 4 GAME OF THE WEEK TOMORROW BECAUSE IT WILL BE FRIDAY NIGHT. WEST BLOOMFIELD VERSUS ROCHESTER ADAMS 70 DEGREE TEMPERATURES FOR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOMORROW NIGHT. CAN'T BEAT THAT. AND WE'LL HAVE A FEW MORE CLOUDS MIXING IN. BUT DRY. JUMPING AHEAD TO SATURDAY FOR COLGE FOOTBALL BECAUSE THE WOLVERINES AND SPARTANS WILL BE AT HOME. AND SO A NOON KICKOFF IN ANN ARBOR, WHERE WE'RE AT ABOUT 76 DEGREES, PLEASANT CONDITIONS AND LOW 80S BY THE TIME WE GET TO GAMES END. SO IT WILL BE A WARM ONE, BUT DRY. AND THEN LOOKING AT THE MICHIGAN STATE GAME WITH A 330 KICKOFF IN EAST LANSING, WE'LL PROBABLY BE RIGHT AROUND 80 DEGREES AT KICKOFF AND FALLING INTO THE UPPER SECONDS BY GAME'S END. SPEAKING OF 70S, WE'LL TAKE THAT INTO SUNDAY FOR THE LIONS, FOR FOLKS THAT WILL BE TAILGATING. AND BY THE TIME YOU'RE WALKING INTO FORD FIELD AROUND 1:00 78 DEGREES. ALSO WORTH NOTING THE TIGERS WILL BE PLAYING AT HOME AT THAT TIME, TOO, S
