[Music] good afternoon everyone welcome to when singles pre we are starting a brand new series and I am super excited about this one my name is toin babalola I am your host at wind singles prey and I'm sure you're wondering okay what is she up to this time around we are embarking on this 22 day IG live series and the title is Desperate Housewives of the Bible Desperate Housewives I know that really sounds familiar and that is just to grab your attention but beyond grabbing your attention I want you to know that the Bible also records some women who are fantastic and phenomenal and it's important for us to learn from them learn from their lives and what this book is going to help us to do is to bridge the gaps to help us bring the truth and the wisdom we can learn from from Bible days into 2024 that is amazing isn't it so there are so many things about this women that you probably didn't think about there are certain facets of their lives that you probably have not taken time to ponder on we're going to see those various hidden you know Concepts and areas things that affected their lives in the context where they lived and then see how we can still bring it into today's world and learn and glean from it this is a book we're reading and it is tit it is written by Robert strand he's an American Pastor I believe I bought this book while I was in Lagos and I was just fascinated by the title just as I know that you already fascinated by the title and one immediately I started reading it it was interesting I had a good time laughing right so I'm doing this and I'm also wondering how it's going to end or um what impact it's going to make but I strongly believe that this is is going to make a huge huge impact not only in my life but also in your life as well if this video was sent to you this is when singles pray and it's a platform both for men and for women young single vibrant serving the lord seeking purpose and how to actualize purpose and unmarried people generally whether you're married before and now separated or it's complicated just get on here and let's be of encouragement to one another so the Bible says in Romans chapter 15 and verse 4 that whatsoever things were written are for and were written for our learning that we through faith and comfort of scriptures might have hope we through faith and comfort of scriptures might have hope it is my desire and my prayer that as you participate in this book reading and bible study you will also have hope you will learn you will grow your your faith will build up right to the point where God God needs it to get to in order for you to become who he wants you to be in the name of Jesus so the women are many from Delilah to Zapora to joked you know just so many women in the Bible we're going to be looking at their struggles their challenges some of them just literal siblings sisters some uh are called as mothers grandmothers they went through different struggles and challenges mikah Eve all of these women have their own story St to tell so I invite you to come on board let's do this together I'd like you to participate share your thoughts in the comment section and let's just pray amen so this has become the seed of wisdom I have come to learn and I believe that you are also going to learn now that we're done with the introduction I'm just going to go right ahead to start reading so today we're beginning with the story of Eve the first woman in the Bible what must what must it have been like to be the very first woman to set on the this earth and the first housewife to take care of a family we can only imagine there is not a figure in history who has been blamed more than Eve many have said if it were not for her and the serpent would still be in the garden I am not sure about that the writer says so our context or our scripture reference for today will be in Genesis chapter 1:26 to downwards Genesis chapter 2 from verse 4 downwards uh Genesis chter 3 Genesis chapter 4 and of course 1 Timothy 2 2 verse 13-4 all of that will probably be in the comments in the caption in the caption yeah so let's listen to Eve side of the story it's quite a long read and it feels almost as awkward for you as it feels for me but I want you to just um show some kindness okay and let's let's enjoy this together I came into the world fully formed and completely mature except for one thing Adam and I were not born we were created and so we have no history making us quite unique unique God had created Adam first and said it was very good but I think that when God was planning a meat for Adam he thought to himself that was good but I think I can do just a little better so here I am the second edition softer more rounded more beautiful when I was presented to Adam you should have seen the look on his face it really was love at first sight you might be interested in our home it was the most gorgeous piece of real estate in the entire world we had every kind of tree and fruits you can possibly imagine the Landscaping was unbelievable it truly in every sense of the word was a garden put together by God the temperature was exactly right for us the animals were something else friendly and ever so fun but some of them must have taken real thought and Imagination but it was up to the challenge who else could have come up with names like giraffe hippo elephant lion monkey and have them seem to fit so exactly what a wonderful world and we add it all to our elves there was only one no no it was just a tree but oh did it have wonderful enticing fruit God said it was the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil what's evil what's good I really didn't have a clue back then God warned us that it it if we at this tree we would die I had no idea what he meant the snake said we would not die but we would become like God now that that is some kind of thought to be powerful like God and be able to create and control creation I am getting ahead of myself so I said we have access to everything except this tree in the middle of the garden this was the first forbidding thing that was ever presented that I was ever presented with you must not eat from this tree that was like telling kids they can have a cookie until they finish their supper maybe God created us in this way whatever we are told not to do we want to do if this tree was so bad for us why did it appear so beautiful so desirable anyhow Adam and I had a great life enjoying each other's company along with companionship of the animals there was no fear everyone and everything worked together in harmony but as you probably guessed that didn't last long it happened on a day like any other day Adam was on his errand to another part of the garden I was alone I strolled to the middle of the garden and in front of me was the special tree hm then the snake appeared I guess you probably hate snakes but believe me back then the snake was beautiful and more crafty than any other of God's created animals and that is really saying something this snake was something else he talked with me I was INRI for it was one fascinating conversation then when the snake said God didn't really tell you not to eat from the tree now did he I began to think I replied God said we could eat from all the trees except this one and if we touched it we would die remember I still don't know what die meant it really sounded mysterious you won't die the snake assured me but God has been holding something back from you he knows that when you eat this fruit you will be like him because when because then will you know all about Good and Evil then the day came when I timidly reached for a piece of the fruit just one piece and grasped it in my hand nothing happened but oh did it ever feel so appealing I held it for a long time it felt round I smelled its beautiful fragrance the texture was so smooth it was like nothing I had ever touched I grabbed a handful of the fruit I ran to Adam I convinced him it was all right to eat since I had already done so and nothing happened to me when I pushed it on him it looked like he wanted to please me and ate the unbelievable fruit what a picnic we had that day then it slowly began to happened we looked at each other and at ourselves and realized we were naked up until this point we had no shame only innocence but now we knew we were naked something had to be done what had we done what had I done about this time we knew we had to hide from God I went from being Eve now I'm skipping I went from being Eve the mother of Life In the Garden of Eden located in Paradise to being Mrs Adam some place east of the Flaming sword somewhere in Southwest Asia it was Paradise enjoyed turned into Paradise Lost forever and I am ever sorry I sure messed up my life as well as yours too we tried the blame game with God but it didn't work Adam said to me I said it was the snake Adam said it was me I said it was the snake and the snake has been passing the blam ever since to any and all who might listen after our fair scool in the garden life with all of its pains and sorrow began we were unceremoniously moved out from there in our new land Adam walked from sun up to sun down and and sure did he sweat a lot you should have seen the laundry and me without a top loading machine I began having babies with lots of pain and no hospital brething centers and their painkillers inside my first two children were certainly a disappointment speaking about first my son committed the first murder and I'm sure you know that the victim was his brother I thought our sorrow at being thrown out of the garden was bad but it was nothing compared to the agony of family FEI I was really to make an I was ready to make another start at life and living fortunately God heard my prayer Seth was born and he brought New Hope and helped take away sorrow he really was a new start of our family yes my family is like the rest of Any Human family that followed us with both good and bad time times and I certainly missed the enjoyment of the garden all the days of our life praise God so let us see what the writer here is saying that we should learn from the life of Eve wisdom for from Eve for the 25th Century it's not a matter of if we will mess up but rather it's when we mess up there is hope and help for us yes yes God had a new start and we too can experience a new start Eve had a new start and we too can experience a new start it's a matter of facing up to our failures and asking a God who loves us to help us with a new start it's a matter of getting up one more time then we have when we have fallen we may have flunked a test but the final exam hasn't been set yet 's family crisis with God's help in turn led to a new beginning like so many Sorrowing mothers of this world when she was faced with tragedy she learned to turn to God for Comfort help and answers her grief over losing her most promising son Abel and the lost hope of her Wayward Son Cain must have caused her pain beyond belief yet she learned that God is Not only just but he is also the god of Second Chances praise the Lord I don't know how reading this book felt the whole reading time I must confess that I felt very awkward but I hope you have been blessed especially if you're watching this as a replay and showed up on your timeline the bottom line of the writer's encouragement to us is that despite any form of messing up no matter how messed up your life turns out to be you can and get back up again you must insist on getting back up again and how do you get back up again you need to turn to God for answers you need to turn to God for answers he's the only one who can help you to get back up again look at Eve's pain losing the whole of the Garden of Eden everything was gone and lost the the life that they once enjoyed could not be enjoyed again and then a child murdered his brother so both of them were just wrong wrong and then God decided to step in because she allowed him if you don't allow God to fix a mess there's really nothing that will come from him you cannot expect him to to fix your mess you cannot expect him to fix your mess okay so we need to turn to God for comfort for help and for answers now on my own part I've written out some lessons from Eve but before I go into that I I hope you also find it very intriguing that Eve said how was she supposed to know what death means like she didn't know what dying meant and because of that she thinks that we shouldn't blame her and L that's the thing with us most of the time we don't want to accept the responsibility for our wrongdoing the Bible already calls us righteous I agree right but then the Bible also expects us to live out that righteousness to walk in it to walk in the spirit okay so it means that whatever the Bible says you ought not to do whenever you find yourself doing those things you should be able to come back and take responsibility and say oh I am sorry I was wrong I am sorry I was wrong that was the issue with Eve here she's trying to tell us that oh okay I ate the forbidden fruit the enemy succeeded in lying to me and the only reason he succeeded in lying is because I didn't know what it means to die God had given the instruction the day you surely eat of the fruit of of this of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil you shall surely die and then you are saying I did not know what he means to die no if God has given an instruction can we just stick to the instruction can we just know and trust in him to keep us and give us the enabling Grace to do exactly as he has spoken so I wrote down some things here for me the first thing I saw about Eve is that she adored her husband see how she opened up in this in this particular chapter she's saying oh my husband didn't have it a hard time naming the animals he named them so well meeting him was was love at first sight so Eve is here giving credence to her husband to say that my husband is a hardworking man my husband does good things and he does them well God trusts my husband to carry out the work of the garden and he did a good job at it right so Eve was quick to say good things about her husband she adored him she she she saw him as priceless and she was quick to talk about it so that should also be our notion no matter what that if this person is going to be my partner then I must be quick to say only good things about them the second thing I I am taking from the life of Eve is so just obey God I I think I already said that so I don't want to overlog it if God gives an instruction just simply obey whatever it is that he says then number three audit your company the serpent is is always at the edge he lies at the edge he's always at the edge because the Bible tells us that he who breaks the edge the serpent shall bite that is to tell you that the serpent is always lying so close to you waiting to come in as soon as there is a crack waiting to come in as soon as there is a crack and you will always carry or have a life that is full of cracks if you don't consciously audit your company who are you listening to who gives you advice who do you gist with who do you talk to who are you who are you listening to your company matters a lot the Bible tells us in the book of First Corinthians not to be unequally joked with unbelievers but I beg to say that even today there are unbelieving believers those who are Christians but actually act like unbelievers and later on in that particular chapter it says come out from amongst them and be ye separate we the reason we don't come out many times is because we think we will not be able to do without these people we already assume that we will not be able to survive without these people no God wants you to audit your company because what you give room what you make time for ultimately will influence your life and sometimes they may not be physical beings like Eve was literally speaking to the serpent sometimes it is who you follow on in on Instagram sometimes it is who you follow on social media it doesn't matter the platform it is who you follow may we not follow people to our own detriment in the name of Jesus may we not follow people to our L I don't know how to describe that but may we not follow people to the that the enemy has dog for us in the name of Jesus now uh they both waited for their for their savior to come for them they both waited for their savior to come for them Eve and her husband they didn't try to fix things immediately they saw that they were naked they didn't try to quickly just you know do things their own way they waited for the time that God was going to come for them and you and I in 21st century must be ready to wait for God there are times when in my prayer I'm just saying come for me Lord come for me I even have a song in in that regard please come for me I acknowledge that so many things have become cobwebs around my heart and as much as I'm trying to reach out to you unless you come for me there won't be that intercourse between us that Fellowship between us because I want to sense you I want to know you I want to know you and I want to sense you around me and in me so learn to wait for God in your time of Errors whether of commission or Omission in the time when you miss it so you you had sex accidentally with that guy or you went into substance abuse learn to wait for God to come for you don't try to fix things on your own don't tell lies to cover it up don't use um an abortion to cover a pregnancy do you get what I'm saying don't yesterday I was speaking with a friend of mine who had a baby one time and I'm very proud of what she's doing with her life at the moment the the baby she had at that time is now fully grown like fully grown today so I'm here I'm telling my friend you know what you may have been through so much you may have been through a lot at that time but I am super proud of what you're doing today what if she used an abortion to cover up that baby that day that time she died on that abortion table what if so don't try to fix things by yourself always learn to wait for God don't be ashamed to go before God the Bible says in Hebrews CH 4 and ver 16 it says let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find Grace to help in time of need the mercy you need to cover up that wrongdoing is already available Jesus is saying just come and obtain it I have already made it available human beings may not show you Mercy but Jesus J will always show you Mercy for a fresh start and a new beginning then Grace find Grace to help in time of need means that for that wrongdoing not to repeat itself again you are going to need Grace you are going to need Grace so it is also at the throne that you receive that Grace Adam and Eve were already used to God coming to them to fellowship at a certain time of the day the cool of the day guess what you also should always know that God keeps coming for you you should he's not coming to to bully you he's not coming to condemn you no no no no no no behold what matter of love the father has given unto us that we should be called the sons of God there is therefore now no condemnation Romans 8 says for those who are in Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation so every time God comes is a now your fellowship with God should not be truncated because of a wrongdoing it is in your going back to him that you obtain Dr to help in time of the next need I like how the writer puts it here he says the question is not when we mess up the question is not if we mess up the question is when we mess up so there will be a time of need you need to obtain Grace to help you for that time of need another thing I just want to add on top of auditing of your company is that the enemy has a grand scheme he always has a huge goal he has an end in mind whatever little thing is dangling in front of you today ah it is it does not end in that small little thing oh and guess what you are the one who does not know the intention of the enemy Eve did not know that what the devil was trying to do was to capture the whole of human race and keep Humanity Bound in sin the devil wanted to introduce sin so that man can fall but I know you're saying but there are people who are living successful lives today and they are not Christians the Dominion mandate was already given to man be fruitful replenish the Earth multiply subdue it have dominion over the fields of of of of the over the the the um animals over the field over the cattle over the land over the birds of the air the fish of the the sea the Dominion mandate was already given to man to succeed but it but Satan introduced sin so that man will fall from that very um very life of God that very nature that God already had given to man to share with man Satan brought sin because God is of purer eyes than to behold iniquity so Jesus now came on the scene so that man will come out of that falling state to be reconciled back to God now guess what no matter how successful you are if you do not come in reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ you remain a fallen man even if you own all the billions in this world I mean currency whether billions of dollars billions of pounds whatever it is that you have if you are not reconciled back to God through Jesus Christ who is the way the truth and the life then you remain in the for falling State I don't know why I'm setting this at the very beginning of our of of the series but I think that is a very good place to start that in case you have not surrendered your life to Jesus so you can be reconciled back to God you need to do so and it is very simple it comes by believing that Jesus Paid the penalty from this for this sin this sin that Adam and Eve committed the price was supposed to be the life of a blameless lamb a lamb without blemish a lamb that that is not born out of sin that is why Jesus did not come through intercourse between man and woman he was he was conceived of the Holy Ghost hey he was conceived of the Holy Ghost so the Virgin Mary delivered the child that was to bear and carry the sin of the world if you do not believe in this you still remain in the Fallen World in the Fallen state but you can believe in this and more than believing in it is confessing it so with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation that is as simple as ABC if you would believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess with your mouth the same thing that he died and he rose again and in
