Les Déclarations Controversées de Sébastien Delogu sur Sud Radio

Sébastien Delogu, LFI deputy, confessed not to know Philippe Pétain during an interview with Jean-Jacques Bourdin on Sud Radio. He said: “I don’t know who Pétain is. I've heard of him, I know that apparently he's a racist...". Delogu also reacted with embarrassment and laughter when François Ruffin was compared to Jacques Doriot by some LFI members. He said he did not want to shake hands with representatives of the National Rally, so as not to lower “my head in the face of the history of my country”. His comments sparked criticism on social networks, notably from Antonin Ferreira and Aurélia Beigneux of the RN. The previous Monday, Delogu had been criticized for having difficulty reading his notes during a session of the finance committee at the National Assembly. Those around Delogu explained that he wanted to be ironic, particularly after attacks on his recent reading difficulties.
