now 27 storm track weather with meteorologist Alexis Clemens we're taking a live look from W Madison looking East hardly a cloud in the sky but this is not showing temperatures right now as they are warming up we're currently at 89° in Madison the capitol city with a wind uh South about 13 mil an hour but it almost it doesn't cool us down at all it almost feels like an oven which is how warm it is Du points are in the 70s feels like temperature that heat index in the mid99s 9 s some of us are already seeing the triple digits that is expected to really return as we head into tomorrow everybody should see a heat index over 100 Dees for Monday and potentially Tuesday as well so we're still going to stay warm through this evening with temperatures in the 80s that heat index still in the 90s and just with how high our dup point is it's even going to feel pretty toasty through the overnight hours temperatures only dropping into the 70s with a few clouds here and there your dupoint temperatures are in the 70s right now as we step through the next few hours though I'm watching tomorrow if dup points can get into the upper 70s low 80s there that is going that's already by itself dangerous humidity on top of temperatures things are really going to warm on up so I'm tracking Future Track uh heat index here for tomorrow everybody should see that heat index over 100° this is dangerous heat and humidity make sure you are taking care of yourself now as we head towards Tuesday Tuesday is going to be hit or miss with this heat it's either going to see we're all going to see that triple digit heat index value or we're going to be a little bit cooler because we're tracking a rain chance let's talk about that really quickly here as I expect us to stay dry through tonight and into tomorrow truthfully I said this earlier today on wake up Wisconsin it's almost going to be too hot to rain during the day and that's because with temperatures well into the 90s due points would have to meet them there in the 90s which is unheard of we don't see due points in the '90s least not here anyways and we don't want to so what we need is for temperatures to drop into the overnight hour closer to that dupoint temperature that's going to lead to some rain chances so we're going to watch some storms possible Monday night and into Tuesday morning now if these storms can linger a little bit longer on Tuesday that's going to decrease our threat for heat and humidity but if they do not pan out if they move out a little bit earlier then we will still see that heat index in the triple digit so it really is Hit or Miss for Tuesday I'd still go ahead and plan for that heat and humidity now the storms for Monday night do have a marginal risk for severe weather most of should stay uh closer to the oakair Twin Cities area we'll watch a slight risk for severe weather with those storms potentially for Tuesday morning another slight chance for some storms Tuesday afternoon and evening but like we said in the afternoon and evening it might just be too warm for that rain to form but right now I really watch for those storms uh that's going to be uh late Monday night really Tuesday Morning the best chance there so ways to beat the heat we're talking dangerous heat and humidity the rest of today tomorrow and potentially Tuesday have the sunscreen often really try to stay inside as much as you can take breaks if you have to be out drink plenty of water wear light clothing of course check your back seat check the backyard as well don't want to leave those pets out there temperatures will be in the 90s of course that heat index over 100 degrees for Monday and Tuesday better rain chances will be here by Thursday and Friday and thankfully the heat doesn't last very long we'll see a high temperature of 80 degrees by Friday which is closer of course to average Friday though I have Bucky the badger there because that's the first Wisconsin football game of the year so thankfully it will be a little bit cooler and by the time of the game in the evening things should dry out so that's good news there the Friday uh rain chance should just be in the morning but of course the big weather story here is the heat and humidity through Tuesday we start to cool down the best rain chance we've got here is late Thursday into early Friday and then we're cooler by the weekend all right thank you Alexis we'll see you after the break
