Power City tonight, Exxon Mobil's chemical plant in Beaumont is celebrating a big milestone today. It's the 39th year the plant is recognized as a star site within OSHA for its commitment to workers and community safety. Now, according to Exxon, this is the highest level of safety, performance and safety standards based on OSHA regulations. The award recognizes companies that go the extra mile to keep injury and sickness rates below the National Bureau of Labor Statistics averages. Exxon received this honor for the first time in 1984, and they've been doing it for 39 years straight now. The plant held a luncheon in honor of that achievement.
