Yankees Mets mlb standings

welcome get to change here welcome to Sports Talk New York all right we're going to kind of go over the uh standings here for baseball and talk a little Yankees and Ms all right so we'll start with the standings here and you've got the Yankees just half a game better than Baltimore just by half a game uh 83 and 62 we 83 and 63 it's this is going to be a tight race this is going to come down to who wins the series pretty much in a couple weeks here at the towards the end of the year that last week that's what this is going to come down to all right uh so you've got them and you got Boston Tampa Toronto you've got Cleveland with about a three and a half game lead over the Kansas City and you got Minnesota Detroit White Hawks you got Houston by four and a half over Seattle and then you got Seattle and Texas Oakland La um right now the teams with the best record in the American League are the Yankees and Cleveland who are both 83 and 62 with Baltimore just half game out of that and then Kansas City all right National League Philly eight game lead over the Atlanta and the Mets who both are tied for second which this has been an amazing year for the amazing Mets um for them to do what they've done with the little that they have it's that it's been remarkable so that is awesome for Mets fans I I can honestly tell you I did not even expect them to be in the Wild Card race l in a playoff race um at this time of year I thought next year was the year but we'll see then you got Washington and Miami to finish off all right then you got Milwaukee at 83 and 61 and they got like a eight and a half game lead on the Cubs 11 game lead on the St Louis and then you got Cincinnati and pit and then you've got the NL West which is the Dodgers by four and a half which I never expected it to be this close this late but the Padre's are they're hanging in there only four and a half back probably won't be able to catch them but you never know then you got Arizona and Giants and then Colorado to end that all right so now we go over to the Wild Card races American League you've got Baltimore KC Minnesota and then you've got Detroit three-back Boston 4B back Seattle fullback and we'll stop at Tampa as six back that's I don't even know if I should should go that far it might end of Seattle um so that's the American League then the national league you've got San Diego Arizona Atlanta Atlanta and the Mets actually tied for a spot right now um they'd probably end up if they stayed tied they'd probably have to have some type of oneoff game to determine who gets unless Atlanta has the advantage I don't know I'd have to look that up um so you got those and then you got the Cubs four games back St Louis 6 and A2 and I'll go as far as the Giants and say eight I shouldn't because I don't think you can catch up that much ground so yeah we'll just stop at St Louis at 6 and a half all right so now we've done that now let's go back here to the division we'll start with the Mets cuz this team has been absolutely on fire now they won yeah they they won a lot of games here they were on a n game winning streak and then they lost two three four five six seven eight yeah they were on a nine game winning stre and then lost Sunday on to Cincinnati then they got back on the winning track and they um Monday and then Tuesday they lost again so they play Toronto for the final game of the series um they are they are extremely hot right now and at the right time this team this Mets team is absolutely amazing and they got some games they got some big series they have see they got they got some big series they got Philadelphia next after Toronto this weekend then they got Washington then they got Philly again and then they got Atlanta for three and then Milwaukee like this this these next few series are crucial to them they need in order to keep pace and get in themselves keep themselves in that wild card race they're going to have to really really put on an impression and it's amazing what they've done like I I am thrilled for my Mets fans that I know of what they have done so keep up the good work Mets it' be nice to see both New York teams in the playoffs um so yeah so you got some big series finish off today with Toronto you know move on to Philly and you're in Philly and then you're then you got that night yeah this is setting up nice for them but they got to win these games they really do they got to take two out of I mean they at least got to take they have one two three four five six they have seven games with Philadelphia I I think they could take Washington and they got three games in Atlanta and yeah so the Philly and Atlanta series are going to be interesting for them all right so that's the Mets so now let's get back and we'll go to the Yankees the Yankees have been they've been back and forth I'm hoping maybe this just means they're going to get hot in October but they they haven't really I don't know they've been able to maintain Pace the Yankees but it just never seems incredible enough like we'll start off at the beginning of September they lost and they won they lost they lost yeah so they lost two out of three to Texas they lost two out of three to St Louis you go to Cubs they took two out of three against the Cubs um they split right now with Kansas City so they got the last game in Kansas City then they got a big series with Boston you really want to bury Boston away then you still have Seattle you got Oakland and you got the big series Yankees between now and pretty much two weeks from now have to at least have either tide maintain the half a game lead just be be there with Baltimore um so yeah it's it's definitely going to get interesting here on what's going to happen I mean I think either way they're in Because unless they just totally collapse and just fall apart which I've seen this team do before so I'm not going to count anything out but if I mean they have uh how much if they right now if they just totally collapse it would have to be really really bad like epic bad like they'd had to like lose three out of four to Boston lose two out of three to Seattle and Oakland and then just get annihilated by Baltimore and then maybe you finally you win a game here it just would have to be mically bad because I know even if they lost the American League lead and they drop to the wild card they still I think have enough winds on their boat where they could sit there and still make the Wild Card round but we want to get as high up as we can because I'd love to have that number one seed and right now pretty sure we're tied with Cleveland for that number one seed with Baltimore just half game but the American League no one's really at them no one's really sitting there saying hey I'll take that which is a good thing for them all right so again that is Sports Talk New York wanted to talk a little MLB baseball playoff races are heating up big time like they always do around this time
